I also ended up exchanging the original board I bought for one that was a better fit, which I was super grateful to have been able to do. Really glad I found this place.

Horrible — bought a used SUP from him with the promise of a trade-in/buy-back deal (he offers to everyone). Shortly after, I discovered a fin screw was stripped and I couldn’t change the fins.Gordie offered to help fix it, but then cancelled not one, but two appointments at the last minute. I ended up dropping it off one day and instead of fixing it, he was incessantly argumentative about the “optimal fin set-up” for that board, sending me an egregious amount of claims and accusations -- all VIA TEXT. I wanted to speak with him in person, only to have the appointments cancelled or impinged by “other customers.”Gordie ended up completely re-negging on the trade-in/buy-back deal. He did fix the screw, but seemingly out of spite.HERE’s THE DEAL:Gordie talks a big talk and is good at selling you on his products.He targets a lot of new and beginning surfers/SUPers. He offers a great deal and coaxes them into confidence with a purchase.The boards are just ok. Not worth the hype he gives them, but they do warrant the cheaper-than-normal price compared to other SUPs. He claims they’re designed and/or shaped by some legendary pro, but they look factory-made just like many other SUPs. In retrospect, it’s concerning to me how emphatically he asserts that he and his shop are “the best”.Lastly, if you dare challenge his knowledge or expertise, you may end up on his bad side as I did, or otherwise just have a downright disappointing or a headache of an experience.If you’re a new or beginning surfer/SUPer, I urge you to take everything he says with a grain of salt. Consult other sources first or along the way. Don’t let him coax you into buying something you’re not 100% about. Don’t let the ‘good deal’ fool you — there are plenty of other boards out there and much more knowledgable surfers that can help you.If you’re an experienced surfer looking to get a good deal: just skip him overall and don’t waste your time — he won’t listen to your actual needs and will try to push a board on you with the promises of a great deal.

We are new to the sport and the owner really gave us the 411 on construction, quality and the different types of boards. We cross shopped other stores and returned to the Cal SUP Outlet and bought boards, paddles and bags...... prices are competitive, product quality is good and it is obvious that the owner cares and wants to satisfy his customers. Refering to Ashley freemans review.First off you have never been in this shop and are not a customer.Second you are lucky the police have not been involved, you and your husband that threatened to end gordies life and going to wait for him at his shop, all over you not wanting to pay the money for a new board.I have seen all your text messages and how your husband is unhappy 😢 because he is to cheap to spend the money on a nice foil board and wants it for less than cost.then more upset that it was sold to someone else for normal price over a week later.You and your husband are being petty and blows me away that you would now post a review on this amazing shop.
