Had the most amazing 1st time kayaking trip. Our tour guide Eli was very knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable. My son had a blast. We came home today and I already booked a hotel for June so we can do it again. See you guys in June!

We did the Elkhorn Slough tour over our honeymoon and it was AMAZING. We weren’t quite sure what to expect in terms of how much wildlife we would see but there were otters and seals all over! Ethan was our tour guide and gave us a great experience and had lots of interesting facts. Would definitely recommend!

Really wonderful experience doing the nature kayak tour. Very helpful and friendly staff. I was comfortable and managed to stay dry but results will vary. The highlights were seeing the sea otters, sea lions and jellies out on the water.

Great time! We unfortunately didnt schedule a tour in advance so i recommend you schedule one, but we were still about to take a boat out and enjoy ourselves! Pricing is great for the 3 hours you get!

1st time on a kayak. We had a wonderful time largely due to great instruction and advice of the on site staff, good equipment and a beautiful day highlighted with the wonder of seeing a dolphin during our 3hr excursion. Great way to enjoy Santa Cruz WITHOUT the weekend crowds! Thank you gentlemen. The single kayaks route worked out better than I hoped. So cool we forgot to fish. We will see you soon!❤SC🌞&🐬!

We did this on the whim and what a great decision this was. It is affordable and amazing to be out on the water exploring the beach of Santa Cruz. If you’re in town and have a few hours to enjoy something new come here!!!!!

What an amazing experience...the day started out gross and foggy and rainy, but we went out anyway...didnt manage to see any whales, but our guide was wonderful and we ended up going into Elkhorn slough...TONS of seals, otters, sealions, jellies...so much wildlife. It was so cool to see so many things we saw in the aquarium the day before, out in its natural habitat. Loved it! 😍

A really enjoyable outing with friendly and professional staff. Avi was an awesome guide. The equipment was very good (we opted for a double kayak). We saw sea lions (galore) and otters. At one point, a group of sea lions swam near - porpoising and diving which was very cool.

My mom and I did this together. Dave was incredibly patient, friendly, and knowledgeable! We went to Moss Landing and were able to observe sea lions, otters, many different species of birds, and some very curious seals up close and personal! It was great to have Dave there to tell us about the animals. The equipment was very good; We each were in a very nice kayak with foot operated rudders that made navigating in the currents much easier. He also had warm waterproof pull-overs for us, and there were drip covers, too, which was important to us because it was a cool 60 degree day in early March. We were both warm and comfortable for the entire duration. He also had these very cool sails that he stuck in to the back of the kayaks when we were able to catch some wind and drift back to the harbor, that was a lot of fun in itself! Both my mom and I had an amazing experience and we cant recommend it highly enough!

I booked the 10 AM tour for the four of us so parking was readily available on the wharf. We started out signing some liability release forms and getting all the payment squared away. They supplied us with dry bags, life jackets, nylon coats, and dry bibs. You can leave items with them at the office as well. Before we started paddling they gave us a crash course in proper kayaking form and some of the rules regarding distance to be held between us and the wildlife. We had opted for 2 double kayaks where the person sitting in the back would be steering with their feet. On our 2 hour tour we saw otters, sea lions, various sea birds, and even a couple of dolphins. The waters were smooth so the whole experience was very laid back. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The whole family had a wonderful time. I highly recommend!

Kayaks are stable and easy to control. Expect to see kelp forests, otters, seals, and sea lions without having to go very far.Two-person kayaks are nice for socializing. The water in the Bay was pretty calm and it wasnt very windy, so we could go fast when we wanted or just hang out when we were in the mood or saw something interesting.Workers are friendly and tell you what you need to know. Id definitely recommend Venture Quest for kayaking in Santa Cruz. But if its an option, youll see even more wildlife if you kayak in Elkhorn Slough (at Moss Landing).

My boyfriend and I did the Moss Landing Whale tour, it was amazing! Neither one of us has any experience kayaking, but we still had a lot of fun. We saw humpback whales, harbor seals, and sea otters.Dave, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and was made the tour a lot of fun. He also supplied nylon wind/water proof jackets, a dry bag for our stuff, and skirts for the kayaks. It was a great experience, Id highly recommend. (It did take a few phone calls to get everything set up, but I called during Fathers day weekend, so they were super busy)

They were very attentive and helped us with clothes and to get into and out of the kayak. Told us where to go. Had dry bags to put our stuff into to take on the boat.

Great experience! Dave guided us around and showed much of the wildlife the Santa Cruz bay has to offer. On top of this he gave some good advise for our next day nature activities. I can recommend Kayaking at Venture Quest to everyone!

This was a great weekend activity, the rates are good, it is easy to set out from the pier and kayak around the place. The waters we had werent too bad and the kayaking wasnt too difficult. We got to kayak out to the kelp forest and see some sea otters. We were also able to kayak around and under the pier, we saw a lot of sea lions both drying under the pier as well as swimming around. What was really cool was seeing birds dive down into the water. Two minor complaints. While we got to see a lot of stuff, felt like it was a little limited in the area that we could explore. Also, on the day we went there, apparently one of the people didnt show up to man the booth and the poor guy who was there had to set up so many people by himself and give a tour. He was a good sport about it and later on other people showed up (but Im guess while he was gone, there was no one there to rent out kayaks, so that might have been frustrating to some people).

Whats not to love about kayaking on the ocean in the beautiful CA sunshine with your bestie? So conveniently located on the wharf directly above their private dock. Good prices but awesome staff!!
