I love love love the products, especially the hard oil. I put one coat (smells wonderful) on old wood 13 years ago and have never had to freshen it up. Just did it again for old wood in my tiny house on wheels. Awesome. Easy. And customer service has always kept their promises. Their ratings ought to be much higher if others have my experience.

These guys are the best! These are much more environmentally sound products than just paint and urethane. We use their resin water based sealant most and it is truly a wonderful product I highly recommend this business as well as their products!

I am so pleased that a store in New Mexico is the distributor for these eco-friendly German made products. The staff helped me chose a clay paint color and made sure I knew how to apply it. They are no-nonsense, but friendly. Maybe that is what is off-putting to some customers.A word about the clay paint - no special equipment is required. I applied it with a roller and found one coat was adequate on an already painted wall. I did need two coats on new drywall. CAUTION for chemically sensitive people - the paint had no odor when applying, but it did give me problems for over a month after. It does contain a minute amount of chemical preservative, but I think it may have been the alcohol. It was applied in wintertime, so I could not open a window. A fan helped a bit.

I love this place! There are some unflattering reviews here, I think they must have addressed the problem because I had such a great experience in the store. They have a new showroom close to their old one, and directions on maps may not be updated yet. I make wooden toys and am so glad to find some colors that are safe for our environment. I asked so many questions about their products and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful.

Dropped by the Santa Fe store looking for information about the paint. Wandered around the small lobby talking and examining products for five minutes with no help in sight, so we found someone in the back to ask for assistance. He summoned a tall, gray-haired, pony-tailed fellow through the open door of an office adjacent to the lobby. We must have disturbed said fellow from something hed rather be doing (which was definitely not dealing with customers) because he responded to our questions with sarcastic remarks like, Its paint! You stick a paintbrush in it and brush it on the wall! His technique was effective at getting rid of us in record time. Grateful to an earlier reviewer for mentioning American Clay. Will look into it.

I called the sales department in Santa Fe, NM to see if they could ship a small bottle via USPS instead of Fed Ex. With FedEx, the shipping was extremely high for a very small item. Its common for companies to provide shipping options, so it seemed like a fair question. I was very disappointed by the rude response I got. The sales person said, in a very rude tone, We dont negotiate shipping. And we cant ship USPS because we arent going to go to the post office and stand in line for an hour.I guess he doesnt know about the post offices Flat Rate Shipping boxes that are prepaid for and stocked in shipping departments all over the country.Anyway, he told me if I didnt like their shipping policy, he was fine with losing my business. Wow.

I have purchased three gallons of the Bioshield clay based paint. Two in October 2018 and one in May 2019. The first two were ordered at the same time and while I had a problem with a strong smell I talked to the company and worked through it. I decided to give the paint another try when it was time to paint our guest bedroom/office. This time I ordered one gallon. The room is about ten by eleven, one wall is mostly closet and another wall has a window so there isnt all that much wall space.First, when opened I saw that there was an orange streak in the paint. I contacted the company and was told that it was tinting that didnt get fully mixed just stir and it should be fine. I stirred, a lot then finally moved on to painting. There was a smell, clay which you expect, but something sharp too like a strong vinegar or alcohol smell. More stubborn than sensible I kept going. After all of the paint was applied (one coat to three walls) I was not feeling great. When my husband came home he said he could smell something sharp as soon as he come through the laundry room. I told him about painting my office, he opened the door and closed it immediately. I had the window open and a fan going but the odor had definitely multiplied. That was Friday afternoon. It is now Monday afternoon. After three full days of an open window and two fans going the smell is still intense. It burns the inside of my nose and stings my eyes. The walls feel dry and all painting tools were taken outside right after I painted. I dont know what is causing the smell. The company advertises that there are no harsh chemicals in the paint but it definitely has a chemical smell in that room.I am concerned about the situation. In trying to improve my living space by purchasing natural paint I have made the situation much, much worse. I tried to contact the business this morning. I asked to talk to the same person I spoke with on Friday. The woman who answer red the phone was rude and unhelpful. At over $70 per gallon (price and shipping) I would have at least expected basic customer service. Now I have a room I can not enter. If the smell wears off at some point in the future we still need a 2nd coat on three walls and have one that is unpainted. It is a disaster.

Great products! Ive used their Wall Glaze (over clay paint), Clay Paints (over adobe wall), Resin Floor sealer (over brick floor), and Sodasan vinegar to clean our shower tile. Fortunately, I dont need to have their products shipped.

What is up with this company? Why cant they send small samples instead of a pint for solvent free wall paint? I have ordered approximately 100 dollars worth of samples that don’t work. Customer service doesn’t seem to care much about their reputation. I love the outcome of their paint, but you have to order samples because the colors are not what you see. The shipping is overpriced.

I purchased three gallons of the clay paint. I painted directly over old plaster walls that had been stripped of wallpaper and thoroughly cleaned. I am not happy with the results. I have two main concerns. First, it took 3 times as much paint to cover the walls than it says on the website. Second, when finished the color is not uniform. There are splotches and streaks of a lighter color. Where I painted directly onto one wall that was brand new drywall, the color is uniform and beautiful.I shared my concerns with Bioshield and was told they dont understand what could be the problem. They said it must be an application problem as they have never heard of this problem with the product. From my experience, I definitely would not recommend this product for painting over old plaster walls. I also would not recommend using their products at all, as the company will not stand by their products. This is a big disappointment to me as I was very excited to have a natural material over my plaster walls. Now I guess my only alternative is to go will latex paint. $250 experiment gone bad :(

We called the local dealer and also the main office. Neither bothered getting back to us. Clearly they are having some type of difficulty.

I am very disappointed with this company and the customer service. First I had ordered samples and some of the colors were wrong. They told me those were old batches from Germany and the newer ones would be more accurate and sent those. After picking the colors, I ordered several gallons of paint and we painted most of our apartment, but the amount they quoted me was off. Not a huge deal. I called back to order more and the owner of the company answered the phone. I wanted to order an extra gallon so I could finish painting. She said she would ship it that day (Thursday) and that it would most likely arrive Monday or Tuesday. It then ended up shipping on Tuesday! My place is a mess, because Im waiting to finish painting, plus I had moved around my schedule to plan on painting all day Wednesday. On that same phone call, I had questions because her associate and herself both gave me completely different directions on applying glaze to the paint in my bathroom. One of them said to mix it in with the paint and the other one told me to apply it afterwards. She had rushed me off the phone because she needed to take another call and was kind of rude about it, so I just kind of let it go. But after the shipping failure, I decided to call and let her know that I was disappointment and I just wanted to let her know. I am the most calm and laid back person on the phone and she completely blew up at me. She got defensive, immediately threatened to turn around the order (really?) and proceeded to tell me off. I was blown away by this and simply told her to watch for my reviews. Im still in shock that I was treated like this from a company owner. Oh, by the way... the product is just ok, but it gets dirty very easily and you cant really wash it. I like the color but the paint is clearly of low quality. The person who initially recommended it was talking about American Clay, but I accidentally ended up finding Bioshield. Oops!
