My friend took us here for dessert and it did not disappoint. Their cakes are not super fancy, but they are tried and true and DELICIOUS! Sometimes, you just want a good cake, right?Sweet Lady Jane feels like going to someones home where the cakes are made daily and overflowing. Their cakes are nice and moist. I love the Triple Berry yellow cake and the Strawberry chocolate cake.

This was the second time giving this place a shot. I purchased a piece of a triple berry cake and the chocolate triple berry cake. The triple berry cake was very dry and the frosting didnt taste the same as the Encino location. The berries were also not very sweet so it didnt help. The chocolate berry cake was also very dry. Ive been to this location twice and the Encino location twice. I have not had this issue at the Encino location. The first time I came here, I purchased a whole lemon cake for my husbands birthday and it was old and tasted like it had been in the fridge for too long. I wish they would monitor the quality a little bit closer.

This bakery was very good. Worth every penny. I had the bacon and cheese scramble with a chocolate croissant. My wife enjoyed a bacon egg and cheese croissant sandwich, which I had a taste of and it was all very good. We even took home some other pastries before we left. Loved the small bakery atmosphere but even better was the service and just the quality of food they have there. Would go back if Im ever in the area!

This place is Ahhhhhhmazing! I grew up in France and used to eating French pastries. This place takes me back to my childhood. Ive tried the tart, strawberry short cake, flan, boisenberry pie...just ridiculous! Soo delicious. Airy, light and not overly sweet. The breakfast menu is great too. Definitely recommend the French toast and the salmon cream cheese scrambled eggs.

One of my favorite spots for dessert. Cakes are what they are known for but everything is good here. Cant go wrong. Triple Berry white cake is the classic. Recently had dark chocolate and strawberry and that may be a new revelation.Its usually busy but never packed.I ordered online from the website once and sent the order through grub hub for some reason and it took a bit for them to find my order when I picked up.One thing I dont like is how they charge to write for birthday cakes.

Ive eaten here, and I picked up the food for postmates delivery and delivered it. Its quite good, the staff is very friendly. And The food is very fresh. Obviously emphasis on the sweet....

Bustling corner bakery and coffee shop. Tons of cakes and baked items. Counter order and they bring your order to your table. Linzer tart was perfectly soft and tasty. Not overly sweet. Coffee was also good.

First time visit here and the place is very nice. The cake and pastries are nicely decorated and have a great taste.The staff was very friendly and the place was clean. It is real cozy. The outdoor seating was nice and had lots of heaters set up to keep us warm.The best thing about it is that its open until 10 and night which is cool. Most of the time we crave sweets its late at night and nothing is open. This works out perfectly!

Cute corner bakery that’s quite popular to the neighborhood so I avoid it on weekends & visit it on weekdays. My all time fav is their famous triple berry cake - very light whip icing. Also tried their chocolate raspberry, delicious & rich but could barely taste any raspberry.

My neighbor gave me a gift box, 🥳😋🔥100% 🔥, this will be my new go to spot . Thank goodness for google !!!

I love this place. We were looking to buy me a birthday cake at night and this was the only place open. Thankfully it was, the cake was beautiful and tasted delicious. Service was a plus. The assortment of cakes was amazing. I will definitely be buying birthday cakes here yearly. Maybe Ill buy a bigger cake next time though because my friends seen my post on Instagram and all wanted a piece 🍰 plus they said it looked delicious and heard of this place before. The best cake Ive ever tasted.

My favorite neigborhood location for pies and cakes. My favorite is their blueberry pie. Delicious. Pies are so popular that There is always a line. The friendly staff is always helpful.

I loved this place, amazing coffee, fresh pastries, cute atmosphere. So when it was time for a birthday I was seduced by the beautiful frosting designs on their cakes. But honestly this cake is such a disappointment. $52 for a sad little sickeningly rich and sorta-kinda-not-really chocolate flavored cake with absolutely no raspberry flavor to be seen aside from the one on the top for decoration.*I added some raspberry preserves to my leftover cake and it lightened it up and it was DELICIOUS! Maybe consider adding a little later of raspberry inside the cake? *

Okay I needed to split the difference here. Product excellent. I had the fruit tart and a coffee $12+. Ive had high quality desserts at a fraction of the cost at Portos Cuban bakery. It is a much better atmosphere at Sweet Lady Janes in that is it not frenetic with that crazy open market energy at Portos. But its pricey here. Trendy LA independent bakery if you like that sort of thing. You wont be disappointed with the quality. Coffee was great.

So glad we decided to give this place a try.They have alot of dessert options so it was hard picking one thing to try.Just know the slice is a good slice so its very filling.I got a slice of the raspberry mascarpone tarte (honestly I dont remember if thats what its called) but man was it good. The raspberry filling wasnt too much and it wasnt too little. The crust of it wasnt hard. Melted in the mouthMy boyfriend got a chocolate cake I believe. Moist and deliciousThe lattes are delicious. The mocho and vanilla are very yummy.Definitely come in and get something from here. Its worth it

Although their cake is good, the service is terrible! I tried using a gift card that was digitally purchased for me for my birthday (because they are from the East coast and have heard from me how much I love their Triple Berry Cake). To my disappointment, their system would not allow me to order online to pick up. When I called the store to see if they would be able to help me figure out, the response I got is the system will not let them do it and I dunno know.Considering this is not just grocery store-bought cake, I expected better customer service especially during a time where people are supporting your business and Ive frequented your shop prior to the public health crisis. This experience has definitely impacted my views on this business. Like they say, people come for the food, but they come back for the service...

The French press coffee is so good...but those desserts. Wow! I will order one of their cakes one day...gorgeous!! Nice cafe foods as well. Seating is limited there is also sidewalk seating so bring layers for chilly days as the heat lamps are also limited.

I want to give this place 5 stars. But they just shrunk their menu and took off the most amazing cake, the coconut cake, off their menu. I’ve been buying it for 8+ years. Staff can’t say why! Please bring it back!

Left Santa Monica in 2016 for Orange County, sadly the Corona Del Mar store closed a few years ago. Even with the reduced hours in Santa Monica and take out only it’s always worth the visit.

Most disgusting customer service ever. totally rude to me. made a comment about how expensive their pizza is - $7 a slice. wasn’t being rude or anything just was a little shocked. she replies “well good thing you aren’t getting it then”like wow- totally rude. no way to treat a customer. i will never be back.

I know theyre known for the triple berry, but my FAVORITE is the princess cake. Outrageous.

You can sit outside and bring your dog which is awesome. They’re so friendly. My daughter loves the pancakes and the sandwiches and especially the cakes. I am very fond of the sweet lady Jane salad. The manager goes above and beyond with his hospitality. You consistently wonderful experience!

This place is great! My wife and I drop in all the time on our weekends. Coffee is fine, nothing special, but the pastries and cakes are so fresh and delicious. Good lunch and breakfast specials during the week. Their rosemary bread is a must if you’re having a sandwich.

I have not tasted the pastries but I will never go back. The young man on the picture I posted is the most condescending individual I have ever met. I was there with two family members. It was our first time there. We stood in front of the case that had the pastries we wanted. After he waited on a customer, behind the same case where we were, he walked to the register. When the man finished paying, a woman walked in the store and walked up to him and he took her order. He walked over to the case and I reminded him that we were waiting. He smugly stated that we had to be “in line” to be waited on. There was no line so we waited at the case for him to finish. By the time he was finished, another person walked up and he started to ask for their order. We stated that we were next and he insisted that because we were not in line, he could not wait on us. He demanded that we had to take 2 steps to the left to be in front of him only to move back to our original place to show him what we wanted. My sister moved over to the register. I expressed my discontent with his demands as it is my 1st amendment right to do so and without profane language. He then threatens not to wait on my sister who is in line. This was his attempt to keep me from calling him out in front of other customers. Might I mention that we are 3 Black women and everyone that he overlooked us for were not. I am not accustomed to having to bow down to the illogical demands of someone that I am spending my money with. Needless to say I didn’t purchase anything and I will NEVER!

This is literally a sweet neighborhood sanctuary. The have a lovely Christmas music playlist, friendly staff, and of course award-winning cakes. One of my favorites is the Chocolate Strawberry. Yum and Um! And, their open until 10pm and have outdoor seating with heat lamps.

Excellent pastry and sweet goodies. All food I have had has been really tasty. I go nearly every week for breakfast and it is the best around. Coffee very good and scones the best around. Beautiful cakes and other desserts. Super creative and all good flavor. My friend and I usually split a custom egg scramble with rosemary toast and house made orange marmalade. Cant go wrong.

Triple Berry Cake is AMAZING

This place is a really gourmet bakery. Like its really fancy than what most cake places feel. The atmosphere is very homey and the pastry area feels like I am part of the kitchen. A taste tester if you may say. The cakes are pretty good. My old fashioned cake was good in a sense that it was full of flavor, but not too sweet. Even though, I do like sweet things, this wasnt very sweet. But, to a diabetic, my mom says they are sweet for here liking. But thats up to preference. The brownies arent very moist and are quite hard. I wish they were moist, they would remind me of home. The pies are exceptional to me. Its not a marie calendars pie, but its sweet lady Janes pie. And that hits the top of my list along with Marie Calendars.

Me and my wife love this Bakery! We found it during our search for wedding pies (since were not huge fans of cake) and returned a year later for the lunch menu on our anniversary. The pies are deep-dish, and deeply decadent. You can return the pie tins for a $10 rebate! The lunch was great too. We plan on making this place our tradition. Nothing like sweet cherry pie to strike a romance!

I have a major sweet tooth, and I could be wrong but I remember their desserts being better than when I last went there recently. I had the old fashioned chocolate cake and the frosting in the cake was firm and tasted way too buttery. I thought old fashioned meant classic, but thats not what I got. I really dont recommend that one. The banana cream cake was a lot of cream - we were hoping for more custard. Cake slices are way too big, which I guess is good if you want to go into a sugar coma...

One of the best cakes in the westside

I cannot get enough of the cheesecakes here. Especially the hazelnut cheesecake. Its a MUST TRY! Im a sweets person so Im always craving a slice of cake. This is my go to place, living less than 5 minutes away.Great atmosphere and location. The service is okay, even on a slow day. Staff is friendly enough and the slices of cake are a bit pricey (but totally worth it in my opinion). If youre around Santa Monica and craving something sweet, I highly suggest you visit Sweet Lady Jane.

I just loved this cake shop. Their English trifle pudding one of the best desserts I have ever had. It’s very famous and in demand. So if you want to try this, u better go there before noon!!!

My absolute favorite place for desserts of all denominations. From cupcakes to birthday cakes - simply one of the best bakeries around. They also make good sandwiches. My two faves from this place: Carrot cake and sea salt brownie. Their consistency in preparation is commendable.

I have been a loyal customer for many years. However, greatly disappointed in the lemon bar. I ordered on a delivery service where they advertise a new larger size. To my surprise, it was the smallest lemon bar ever! There is nothing large about it, it was half the size it use to be. It 3 bites and you a basically paying $1.16 per bite. It’s a ripoff.

Need more vegan options.Only had 1 vegan pastry. A brownie. A very low bar for a beautiful capable pastry shop. Ill pass thanks. #disappointed

I really enjoy Sweet Lady Jane. Hubby and I visit often for brunch and occasionally pick up a late-night treat. For my birthday, we bought a slice of carrot cake that was delicious - very flavorful and not too sweet.

Its okay. I love sweets and I know my way around an oven. I was underwhelmed by the red velvet cake. The coffee was good. My friends had the towering chocolate cake and they said it was rich. Pricey! My slice of cake was $9.

Though the product was lovely and tasty, the service was not very good. The girl at the counter seemed annoyed too answer our questions and proceeded to take another customer while we were trying to order. I cant imagine this acceptable to the owner, but there it is.

I had absolutely terrible experience of service this last time I came there! In the last couple of years I went there several times and every time I had a bad vibe from the couple of waiters that are taking the order. I want to make it clear: they were not the people that normally bring the food to the table. These are the couple of guys that always are very short and impatient when they take an order.That last time I was there with my son. My meal came first and we kept waiting for my sons order. After waiting more than 15 min ( by this time I finished my meal!) I asked how much longer do we have to wait for his meal. The guy was very short with me and said that I should be patient and wait. I felt that this was not a right way to treat the customer by teaching the patience and I said that he could of said it a bit nicer. He never apologized and obviously he didnt feel sorry for the fact that the order was late. I asked him for his name and he gave me one long and nasty look and said I wont give you my name! I later found out that his name was Juan. We eat out very often but I have to say that I havent had this type of experience in years! I will not go to this place again and it is unfortunate because I really liked the pastries there.

The triple berry cake was great! The service is awesome! We tried another cake the White Chocolate Raspberry but it didnt taste that fresh! The atmosphere is cute and quaint, its worth a visit!

Sweet lady Jane is a consistent delight. Their called and trifles are the best. Late at night the bread is half off, which makes it reasonably priced. Otherwise, expect to pay Montana prices.

What a sweet place to refill your calories to a sky rocket level. :) we went for the mixed berries pie (a must try), apple pie, walnut brownies and a lemon cake. Highly recommend. And a 5k run after too!

Tried mini chocolate cupcake was told the frostingwas real buttercream frosting, it was not!! .. I suspect whipped Crisco and sugar.The lemon tart is very small, its $3It was not tart at all.The raspberry linzer cookie was okay not worth $3

Nice place to enjoy a nice morning cup of coffee n delucious baked goods. Always get there honey latte n almond crossaints its a great combo. Tables available for relaxing n working on lab top phone etc. A great experience all around.

Great effort but not quite. My buddy suggested coming here Friday night. We got there closer to 10pm and found a table easily. It seems that most people order to go.He and I shared a slice of triple berry cake and a slice of mixed berries pie. The total came out to $16.XX including tax for both items (pay at the counter), but the slices were beyond generous. Personally, I think we couldve just shared 1 item, but apparently our eyes were bigger than our stomachs.The triple berry cake was pretty good, but I felt it needed a little more of a punch, the density of the cake was too airy. Also, I thought there was too much cream to hold all the ingredients together. I ended up scooping out the cream.The pie was harder than a rock and I couldnt taste the freshness. My initial bite of the pie led me to conclude that it was days old. The berries were solid, as in hard clumps. Needless to say, we didnt finish. In fact, he didnt even touch it. I got to be the lucky recipient to take it home. The morning after, I cut a small slice and microwaved it, that melted the berries slightly, but the taste and freshness are still lacking.Cute date night location and atmosphere with fair service. However, I will not be back.
