Employees are helpful but corporate office mostly concerned about raising prices to maximum of market. Greed is one word that comes to mind. Not so 25 years ago. Now profits first.

You should steer clear of this particular Public Storage on Beneva Road, I rented a climate controlled unit for a few months, I emptied my unit on a Friday morning, July 2nd, and the office was closed. My July rent was charged to my account the day before and they would not give me any kind of refund so I paid an entire extra month. Worse though, there was a large hole in the roof of my unit and so my things got all wet. First I called Customer Service and they directed me to Christina, the District Manager. I left a message and she never returned my call. Then, I was sent a survey by email and gave them a terrible review, but never heard back again. There are lots of storage businesses in the area, I would suggest you choose another one.

Its actually a good storage place. Well maintained and friendly staff. Prices are better than any of the other places I checked. Give a call or stop in.

Shari was SO helpful and understanding finding me the perfect unit. I was so stressed during my house selling process, and I didnt want any more issues. All went very smoothly, and I ended up with a unit that I am very happy with... climate controlled and drive-up access. Thank you Shari!!!

This is a really great central location. The price was the lowest I could get in this area. But Nick, at the Office... He is the BEST! Nick made sure I could see different size rooms and told me about special discount I could find on line. He was very kind and helpful and most of all; I felt my belongings would be safe and i would be safe going to and from the location. That the staff was conscientious. Having experience of a number of different storage companies, they are all more or less the same. Public Storage, however, has the edge when it comes to their property managers. Shari, at this Public Storage outpost, was fun, friendly, calm, humorous, informative and most importantly, human.

I’ve been a long time customer at this storage. I have an online e-commerce business, so I visit the storage frequently. The staff is very helpful and friendly!!!! One time I didn’t lock my unit right, Richard was so amazing to secure it for me and let me know that I didn’t locked it properly, so I could go back and secure my unit. Great location, safe and clean. Highly recommend them!

Be very aware from renting from this place. They do not tell you that you must have insurance until you actually rent from them. It’s a complete hidden cost. When I called the corporate line, they told me the district manager is the person that makes that decision. Very shady business practice!

Things started out pretty decent but I was very disappointed to find out I was paying extra for climate control, which happened to be 80°.. most places keep their units around 72 or so. So we were sweating bringing stuff into the unit. Once we got outside of the unit thats when we got to cool down! so I was very disappointed with the fact that it was cooler outside and I could have got a cheaper unit with better climate control than paying extra for 80° :/

Stopped in to check prices as I just got back to Sarasota. Alex was very helpful even though he was new to this location. Not many places have outside units. That you can access from your car that have air conditioning as well. It’s clean too. Happy.

Rates are reasonably priced. Units and property are clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and professional, and incredibly helpful. Shari helped me find exactly what I was looking for and within my price range. Definitely deserving of a 5 star rating.

I came to the location with some questions about a temporary storage solution during a recent crosstown move. Richard was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. He gave me a tour of the types of units available and a cost breakdown for each. While I didnt end up renting a unit, it was certainly not as a result of the staff or the facility; rather I was fortunate enough to have a friend lend me his garage to cover the couple months while I was in transition.

Great customer service by Richard. I had never rented a storage unit and he explained everything thoroughly. When we were unloading into the unit the next day, he even brought us ice cold bottles of water. He came by a couple more times to make sure everything was working out as we had planned. Can’t say enough good things about how thoughtful he was, especially to a first time renter. Great customer concern!

I really don’t understand how this place has such great reviews. We went to check on our stuff in storage and every square inch was covered in rat dropping and all of our stuff was chewed apart. Their insurance only covers $250 in rodent damage and you have to pay a $100 deductible. That wouldn’t even cover a fraction of the cost of damage to our stuff. Nothing in my storage unit is salvageable. I’m so upset.

I Had the good fortune to do business with RICK the manager of the Beneva Rd. facility, yesterday, May 4th. In my opinion, I think management should be proud to have a gentleman, like Rick working for them. All my questions regarding boxes, bubble wrap, and questions regarding the unit I rented were answered in a knowledgeable and professional manner. I will be telling my neighbors and friends about this facility. Everything was extremely neat and clean. Kudos to Public Storage management, but especially to RICK!

Richard the manager was awesome. He explained the entire rental process to me and was very clear that it’s a month to month lease and that there is no long term contracts that I’m tied too. Very helpful as I’m not sure how long I’m staying when I do rent.

Excellent experience! Richard made the entire process, from start to finish, super easy! Our unit was clean and easy to access. We rented a climate control unit which was perfect to protect our electronics. Finally, I always felt completely safe.

Im surprised how many people wrote good reviews. I only picked this location because of all the good reviews however my unit was infested with big spiders, I ended up throwing most of my boxes away because I didnt want them in my car or new house.

We are planing a big move to Sarasota and needed a nice, clean, climate controlled facility to store our furniture in while waiting for our house to be ready. My friend Donna had never used a storage facility before and was a little anxious about it. Richard put her at ease immediately. He was so efficient and friendly; got us checked in very fast before the rain started. Then the next day when we unloaded he was riding the cart around checking to make sure things were secure, saw us unloading her stuff and asked if we had water. We said no; that we had walked off without it, and bless his heart he actually drove off and returned in just a few minutes with water bottle for each of us. Not only did he bring us water, it was cold! So I would highly recommend Public Storage at Richards location.

This is the most well run public storage facility I have ever used. The management really cares about the property, the goods held there, and their customers.A prime example of their caring customer support is when my wife and I were organizing our contents on a particularly hot day. The facility was well ventilated and the manager brought us two (2) much needed bottles of cold water.Great place, great service, a little security crazy, but we do live in a crazy world, so I guess its a necessary inconvenience.Well done.

My daughter needed an empty room to shoot a short movie for her high school film class. Upon asking many storage units in town, public storage was the only one nice enough to let us film on their grounds. Richard could not have been any nicer. I highly recommend using them for all of your storage needs, you will not be disappointed.

Pricy?$$kinda hard to understand pricing...not rented by square or cubic foot...If you call you may not end up talking to the local office (the number i called connected me to a national office)The local staff was great and easy to deal with! They were professional and courteous. The units are very clean and they offer a grace period at the beginning of the month to pay your bills. Unlike other rental properties to start charging you on the 1st if you have not paid your bill Public Storage gives you a courtesy call to remind you that you need to pay your bill. That is great customer service and appreciated by someone who is human and forgets from time to time !

Rats ate up my furniture items at this place. Management said theyre not responsible. Called insurance who only cover 300 with a 100 dollar deductible, so only 200. And insurance wants receipts of the furniture. I dont have receipts. But the furniture is mine. So its my loss. Id caution anyone from storing anything here.

This place has some very rude people who need to work on their customer service experience. I would not recommend this place. My unit had a lot of big spiders in it and rat poison

The manager answered all of my questions in a sincere and empathetic manner. He gave me the impression of decency, honesty, and consideration. I felt complete trust in him and his business. I have no qualms in entrusting him with my treasures.

Clean storage spaces, good location, friendly staff.

I am in the customer service business and working with people in a friendly professional manor is top priority for my customers. My business requires me to rent storage units all over the Florida area. So I am no rookie to the policies and procedures of doing so. I have never worked with such rude people both in the office and in Management team. This franchise location is not one that I would recommend working with.

Have used Public Storage in another state, but It is refreshing to do business with these people. They are very friendly and accomodating. The sign up process was very easy. To top it off their rates are excellent !
