Cant think of a better rental agency than U-Haul of N. Sarasota. Never had a problem, even when I lost the key . . .

Nobody knows how to do their jobs anymore - only gives it the bare minimum. Useless employees arent even capable of picking up the phone and calling us to let us know that the van that we drove all the way there to rent was having troubles & would not be available for us. Instead giving us another box truck with its own mechanical issues making it a treacherous trip transporting fragile materials. Never using this location again.

The guy was very short and rude, and didnt even removed the trailer so we had to figured it out on our own and thankfully we didnt get hurt or damage our vehicle. He just stood there saying dont break it but refused to help any other place uhual has always removed the trailer and shown much more curiosity. If you can avoid this place I would. They should not be representing uhual at all. Very disappointed and made this experience have a bad taste in my mouth.

No parking, rude employees.

Installed a hitch on our car and picked up some boxes at this location. Impressed by their friendly and efficient service. All three young men we encountered were courteous and helpful. Excellent.

ATTENTION DISTRICT or REGIONAL MANAGER:Cody and Kevin are both useless when it comes to customer service. We drove 600+ miles to a U-Haul location at 103 N. Gum St. in Summerville, SC to drop a trailer. The employee in Summerville could not and would not come outside to help us with the trailer because it was a 1-man operation. So, we left and called the store where we signed the contract for help. We got Cody first and asked that he find us a new store to drop at. He tried giving us a number for the Traffic Department to call which we had already tried and left messages for. We asked Cody to simply call a couple of stores within a 10 miles radius of our drop location to see if they could assist. We tried called stores ourselves but each time we either got an answering machine or transferred to an outsourced 3rd-party customer company. After much back and forth with Cody he handed the phone to his co-worker Kevin who was just as useless and unhelpful. We (my 78-year old father) asked several times for help. They would not do anything except give us phone numbers. If I were in their positions I would have done everything in my power to help including agreeing to call other stores in the area for us. There was zero sense of urgency and VERY POOR customer service skills. My father has been a customer for decades and he is considering never using the company again. I/we would appreciate someone from corporate or the district team reach out to us to discuss this further. It was such a disappointment. And, shame on U-Haul, Kevin, Cody, and the N. Tamiami store for not being able to react accordingly.

The truck fuel gauge was broken and it didnt show the right amount of fuel, which led to overfill that was not reimbursed. The owner havent agreed that the fuel gauge is faulty however he didnt want to check it together. Stay away of this place.

My opinion hasnt changed. This is an insanely poorly run business from the consumer perspective. Unfortunately if you need to rent a trailer there are not many alternatives. As in any business there are good employees and not so good employees. I have had the misfortune of meeting more of the latter than the former. The primary problem i have had is the company not having the contracted equipment at the contracted location at the contracted time and then not honoring the $50 guarantee. The second problem is the contracted return location refusing to accept the equipment back and referring me to another location miles away. The third problem is being charged more than the rental price of furniture blankets to refold them. Finally, having to wait for employees to finish private nonwork related conversations before assisting me in detaching a rented trailer from my truck amd informing me that removing the trailer was my responsibility.

I came in on a Sunday morning at 9 am without a reservation. The two young men were very helpful & knowledgeable. I knew what I needed and they got me set up asap. My sister & I were out the door quickly with our truck. Two minutes on hwy #41 and I turned the truck around, it definitely faulty. Bumpy tires. Guys were very profession, asked the right Qs, changed trucks and we were gone, again. At this point. I am a little put off because the truck is a little beat up...I mean lots of body damage and dirty, inside and out. But, I am ok. I did walk in without a reservation.Here is where it gets bad:THIS truck gets a blow out! With a full load. I had NO idea it is legal to put RE-TREADs on Commercial Vehicles??? THIS is dangerous!! It was an inside tire. I would not have noticed prior to getting into the truck without a flashlight (next time) but the wires were CLEARLY visible after the blow out!!!! THIS is horrible!! Luckily we were traveling on a State highway and just coming out of a red light. So we were only going 30 mph.THEN, it took 90++ min. for the tire guy...we got SIDE swiped by a hit and run driver......hit the UHaul truck.......... while we were in it! oy! BTW The three stars are for the 2 guys in the store and us not getting killed in the truck yesterday!
