Absolutely love everything about this bookstore, especially the atmosphere and the people. The Northshire Selects program is a fantastic holiday/birthday gift; I joined it for my husband and he loves his hand-picked book surprise each month. Highly recommend!

A beautiful bookstore with so much to see and offer! There’s a small used books section over by the sci-fi section. If you’re looking to buy a gift for someone this is the perfect place. They’ve got a great nature section full of books about animals and the entire second floor is for the kids! Excellent!

I always love the bookstore and can lose hours just wandering around. Honestly theres something for everyone, books, games, puzzles, art things, locally made things, used books and of course BOOKS! They are so friendly and if they dont have a book they will glad order it for you. They also ship nation wide so Ive had books delivered to friends!

Visiting Saratoga Springs for a couple of days. Very envious of the locals. Easily one of the best independent book shops I’ve ever been in. Along with the huge selection of titles, there are a ton of novelty items that will encourage people to linger. Loved it.

Cutest store on the Broadway. Can kill 2,3 hours easily. Great ambience, friendly and knowledgeable staff and wonderful selection of books. Comfy chairs to sit and read are a great value-add. The open-book decor of the first floor roof visible from the middle of the stairs is very artsy and well-done.

My new favorite bookstore! Awesome place to visit even just once but you will want to come back! Bring the kids with you to check out the top floor but you will probably want to come back alone so you can check out the downstairs with enough time!! I love all the books & merchandise they have here

Ahh, Northshire, the Saratoga location is sweet and magical. It is great to be able to support an independent bookseller. One of the staff was so helpful in pointing me towards their wonderful puzzle selection. I always look forward to visiting.

Just completely filled with thousands of great books, well organized, you could spend hours there.

Everything a bookstore should be in this modern day. Books, lots of them. Book like things for book-liking people. Yep. toys and games? Yes. Clothes? Even yes some of these. Picked up a few books and even had a chance to read through some more before leaving.If I wanted to give them a 4 it would only be because they CLOSE TOO EARLY, still about 5 or 6 PM in the summer, when people are everywhere, and when I definitely want to go in.

I can’t remember when I was last in a book store. Amazon is convenient to be sure, but the vibe of people discussing books and issues. It’s been far too long.

This is a local treasure (for Saratoga Springs and Bennington, VT). Fun for anyone, but especially kids, to visit. They have a whole kids floor with a model train, places to sit and check out a book and halpful staff. They are also great for the community, offering free author visits to all of the local elementary schools. If they dont have a book, they will get it for you.

Great place. They had a wide variety of books for any and all tastes. Everyone who worked there seemed happy to be there and wanted to help.

Northshire is a place I like to go to wander amongst the shelves and enjoy the atmosphere. I always find something there that is unique, and I have easily found books I have wanted. If I can’t, the staff is always willing to help and special order it for me.With Covid, I have been ordering online and picking it up in the store. It’s quick with minimal contact. They also have many virtual events going on during the week.I really love this place.

Always enjoy stopping into this store as it always seems up to date with modern topics as well as best sellers. I do enjoy the categories placed throughout the store, as everything is very easy to find and often I will stumble across books that intrigue me that I otherwise would have looked over. Definitely worth checking it out.

Very interested in seeing the largest independent bookstore north of NYC. Smaller than I imagined, but still a wonderful place. Besides a well curated collection of books, there were also unusual cards and gifts that made us linger.

Great atmosphere and selection!

We have always loved this bookstore. This morning we stopped in to get a little gift. The gentleman who helped us was very kind and courteous to my disability. Later in the day we went back to get a puzzle. We found what we were looking for and were so pleased with the selection. However, another sales girl was very rude and rather discriminatory; she made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. This was completely contradictory to my previous experiences at this store. We may take our business elsewhere from this point forward.

Absolutely fantastic book store, friendly staff and great selection, you’d think this place was smaller from the outside but don’t let it fool you, it’s a decent size store. These are the kinds of stores we need to keep in business, so go buy a book here and support your local stores!

To say that I was pleased and impressed is an understatement. I brought a group of 10 girls and their parents here for a Bookclub kick off gathering. The staff blew us away!!! The young woman, Amy, that sat with our girls telling them of all different books, authors, and titles, went far and beyond the expected. The girls loved her! She gave each and everyone of them individual attention that zeroed in on each of their own particular interests. She gave 110% of herself, and it was recognized by parents and kids alike! Thank you, Amy!!! You are amazing and have an amazing ability to strike up interest and excitement in young readers! I highly recommend bringing your children into Northshire to explore new book options, and ask for help!!!! I’m sure the staff will blow you away with their undivided and very knowledgeable attention! My daughter is still talking about how excited she is to read all of Amy’s new book recommendations. 📚 We will be returning regularly!!!

This is a really special place. Its a lovely, privately owned, bookstore that works very hard to not only be a part of the community, but to create community. There is always something cool going on here. Everyone who works here is amazingly helpful. The childrens section is amazing. This is do worth the trip.

Great Place to go in SaratogaWas able to look around and not be bothered. We get to Saratoga every now and then as we live in Duanesburg. We always stop in here to look around and browse. Love the way it is run as it is Family Oriented. We will be going back and soon. You can find almost any type of book here.

Ive been here a number of times and it is everything a book store should be. You can get lost in there, sit and read, look at other interesting items and just enjoy the quiet,. No they dont have everything (no store does) but they will get it for you because they want you back. The people who work there are nice and knowledgable and there is a wonderful childrens department upstairs. Go there, you will not be sorry.

Super cute bookstore! It was a good size with a decent selection in each section. The whole second floor is kids books. Unsurprisingly, most books were full price (I didnt see any used books) but thats the price of supporting small businesses - still totally worth it!

Great place to go and Browse around. You can find almost any kind of Book or Magazine you want. When we visit Saratoga we always make it Standard Issue to go in and look around. We will be going back when we visit Saratoga again.

What a great place! Friendly, helpful staff can assist you in any request. They leave their hand-written recommendations through out so you can follow along with how certain readers interpret the books. And then head upstairs to the childrens floor. Its a whole world fit for the imagination of the childs mind to wander. Must visit!

One of the best books stores Ive ever been too and they have an entire floor dedicated to childrens and youth books. Bring your young readers here they wont be disappointed.

Ive found books at this shop that I havent been able to find anywhere else, and they have a great selection of unique gifts, clothes and outerwear, housewares and candles, and bags! This is a fun store with so much to look at you could get stuck here for hours shopping! There is 2 floors in this shop, with the upstairs being a fun area for kids!!

A nice book store but I was led to believe that if I purchased a book, I would get one of those nice $2.99 book marks for free. When I got to the register the girl said no, and gave me a cheap one sided bookmark without the tassel. Pretty lame if you ask me.👎

I might be biased because I love books, but this place has so many unique and different titles of all genres. You could spend hours here! Definitely worth stopping in regardless of your interest in books just for the cute trinkets and knickknacks.

Their childrens department has a few really friendly employees. They offer a lot of help.You are not able to bring a stroller into that area so be prepared to park it by the elevator. NBD.

An honest to goodness book store still alive in a world of digital downloads and epubs. Step inside and smell the paper and ink. Beautifully arranged and great selection for adults and children alike. Hope to go back soon.

Picked up some good childrens book

I really enjoy spending time at this shop. Even if youre not buying a book this is a great place to hang out and check out books. They have a awesome kids section. This kid section spans the entire upstairs and is fit for kids of all ages. They also have a small amount of vinyl.

A bookstore! Love!Between their organized layout, their cozy corners (with couches / chairs scattered throughout), their book recommendation cards, and their dog - friendly attitude, this is a place you want to visit.Last time I was there I was sitting outside with my golden retriever and someone on staff came running out with dog cookies. I have also seen dogs walking around inside. (:Its a fun place... For fun people.

I love this bookstore! It is separated into themes, and decorated with purchase items to match the theme; the cooking theme is my favorite. The upstairs is the kids section and also where the bathrooms are located. The people seem friendly. Ive purchases several things from there and happy with it all.
