I had my yearly exam as usual this year & everything was wonderful. Everyone was very sociable & professional. Abby at the front desk was awesome at helping me figure out my new insurance, and (I don’t remember her name but she had colored hair & a 3 yr old daughter) was very friendly and informative when assisting me with the couple of eye machines they have you sit through. We talked about my family’s history of diabetes, and she helped me get a special eye scan that reassured me that my eyes are in good health. Thanks guys!
Matt from Empire has helped me pick out new glasses and sunglasses. Then, my new glasses started getting very loose even when they were being tightened often. He suggested picking out a new frame and trading in my new ones that havent fit right to get even a newer pair. He has been such a great help trying to find the right pair of glasses for me. He knows what hes talking and is always willing to help. Thank you Matt!
I was in there my last visit during COVID, Mask wearing time. I gave 3 stars because I had an appointment ahead of time and got there a bit early but when I arrived it was slow. There was a worker for every job that needed to be done. Some weren’t working fast enough for 6 waiting customers. This was during COVID, We were too close for comfort. I do like the cleanliness of the place and 3/4 of the workers attitudes were decent. Also, it’s a great place that accepts my insurance. The place itself is nice and most workers are decent people. It just was slow.
A woman came in refusing to wear her mask. Matt was as polite as possible as she became extremely confrontational, even going so far as to physically threaten him. Management should have thrown her out but instead gave her exemplary service. I am sure that is what they are trained to do but this woman continued to complain and threaten the entire time she was there. It was very disturbing but Matt kept his sense of humor and was excellent in his service to me. Well done Matt. Management could have been more supportive. No, I am not a friend of his nor know him personally. Just an observer.

Very inadequate eye exam. The doctor went hysterical due to supposed cataract in one eye. Never even examined that eye to update my prescription. She then proceeded to usher me out of the room without even checking my other eye. When I asked about my other eye, she replied, Its the same. Meaning my other eye still had the same prescription as the last time. She never once looked at my other eye. I was given a prescription for my prior information. This store should be ashamed of charging people for eye exams. UPDATE: Was sent a copy of an email from customer service to the store to contact me about this matter. Two weeks have gone by and have not heard one word.
Before you go here, know they currently have a 10 minute policy which means if youre not there and checked in within 10 of your appt its canceled. No ifs and or buts. Just gone. I didnt find this out till i literally walked up to the effing desk to check in. No reminder text mentioned it, nor anywhere on their website when i made the appointment is there any mentioned of a 10 minute policy. I live an hour away I could go else where thats closer but ive always been done right by Saratoga empire visonworks so it was worth the extra drive. Apts at 1140am. I left an extra 20 minutes early incase I hit traffic in Saratoga. Sure enough i hit Saratoga traffic pretty bad around 1125. I pulled into the parking lot and got out of my car at 1147. Walked up to the door and noticed a mask mandate for the business. I respected it even though Im vaccinated and were a month into the mandate drop. no other businesses that Ive been to have been requiring it but Im not that kind of guy not to respect a simple mask request. Go back to my car to look for a mask and it took me a few seconds to find where i last put my mask as I havent worn one in a month . found one and headed back. As I walked up to the counter to check in I saw the time on my phone being 1149. As I gave my name it must have hit 1150 because thats when I was informed of this 10 minute policy BS. My appt canceled. How are you gonna do me dirty like that. You saw me there before the 10 minutes. Needless to say Ive never made a review negative or positive. but this sat wrong with me so bad I felt obligated to make a review so even one other person who reads this knows so they can avoid the same scenario as mine. Disappointment and a bit of anger is a massive understatement. Ill stick to closer eye places and onea that dont have obnoxious and hidden policies.
I could go on a rant about this location screwing up my latest appointment but who needs to read all the details They messed up, tried coming up with a bunch of excuses why I wasnt contacted, didnt once apologize for any inconvenience and started to just reschedule me. No thanks, Ive gotten my glasses from Empire Visionworks for 8 years, Ill take my business elsewhere from now on.
The quality control and customer service in this store are horrible. Picked up a pair of glasses (they just handed them to me and told me I had to leave because I did not have an appointment). Opened the case and the frame was bent and it had glue all over it. Went back and they told me to wait, because I didnt have an appointment. Waited over an hour (including a 20 minute span when there was no one else in the store), and never got waited on. Another lady walked in and she got taken care of immediately. I asked why, and I was told I need an appointment and that I was after her. Got a refund and left. Ill never go back to this store again. If I could this place zero stars, I would
I will find somewhere else for my next pair of glasses and contacts. Disorganized, I had to call multiple times to check on status of glasses and contacts(separate orders) was told If recieve a phone call when ready. I called a third time after expected date I was told they were ready on the date quoted. Over 3 weeks to get a pair of glasses is crazy. Two stars is because the woman who helped me day I ordered was professional super nice and helpful. Out side of that Ill be ordering glasses online from now on if I have to wait 3 weeks anyway.
So I wanted to make an appointment in their Clifton Park site, was unable to get in so I thought OK I’ll try the Saratoga site, someone recommended it and says it was great. So I made appointment over vacation and went and the doctor seemed OK and nice nothing too exciting and the lady who checked me out seem to be OK, didn’t spend a lot of time, but thought overall it was OK. Then I got a text that my glasses were ready, so I went to pick them up and they literally could not spend two seconds they were like here’s your glasses try them on and that was it, and I thought to myself geez I just bought &400 +dollars worth of classes I’m not even going to get a fitting, so I put them on and they weren’t right so I waited and waited and waited and finally got somebody and he adjusted them and I said I got an immediate headache from putting them on, and he said oh that’ll probably go away in two or three days, again thought nothing of it I have worn glasses all my life. I’ll try to go home I’m in excruciating pain with a headache for three or four days decide I can’t do this, put my old glasses back on and call to let them know, the girl on the phones like just come on in on Saturday will take care of you. Fast forward I go in on Saturday and the ladies like there’s nothing we can do they’re exactly the same as your old pair, The prescription changed you’re probably gonna have to really get used to them. I said no this is never happened before I’ve had other issues, I’ve never had excruciating headaches, like this I’d like to see the doctor or something. Oh no I can’t get in and see the doctor the appointments are filled, I’m like I’m not gonna take another day off to come back the glasses are checked. She didn’t seem to care what back-and-forth told me I could go back to Clifton Park if I wanted to, so I called Clifton Park and they’re like no we can’t see you because you have to get a whole new I exam, back and I go and I’m like they can’t see me so I make an appointment for next week to get my eyeglasses checked. We will see I have a net another appointment, but after this I will not go back to them.
During my visit to this location, (Saratoga) the front end staff was helpful and nice. Once I got into the office with the doctor though things changed. The doctor was very rude, defensive and not friendly what so ever. When asking questions on her findings it was as if I should not have asked anything at all. She definitely does not seem like a people person and should not be in this line of business if she cannot be polite and answer questions pertaining to her clients care.
Not impressed with 9 employees sitting around while 3 customers wait, one an hour past her appt time. I had to leave after waiting 35 min with no sign of progress. Wont use them again not will I recommend them
Doctor was friendly and funny, everyone was pleasant and helpful, all together a great experience.
Didn’t measure my eye correctly and was left with stabbing contacts. Had to go back in and get remeasured. Then the Stephanie manager was rude as hell because I refused to keep contacts that were not my original prescription.
Staff was courteous and selection of frames were great.
Absolute horrible customer service, they don’t answer the phone and direct you to their website and then do not follow up on messages. Do not use!
Wish I never got my glasses here! Until I am able to get another pair I am stuck coming here but will NOT be giving them my business ever again! Been here 3 times (2 in less than 6 months)and the last. ALL visits have been a total displeasure! I am extremely polite and friendly yet ALL staff is extremely rude, impersonal, and unprofessional. I thought it was just a fluke the 1st time, maybe a bad day for the one employee I dealt with, but nope! They are all the same. Real bad attitudes. Seem as though they hate their jobs. Will get my glasses fixed and wont be back! 👎from many other reviews I see that I am not alone and see the apologies from the owner to these reviews YET sorry means NOTHING if Nothing changes!!! 🙄

Worst experience ever! I made an appointment 6 weeks in advance - the soonest they could take me. The Saturday before my appointment - they leave me a message saying that I wasnt covered for insurance. This left me no time to contact my provider and figure it out. They were very rude an not professional. Who waits until the day before, on a weekend to call me and let me know this?

My wife and i spent over 1500.00 for glasses with in the last 2 months mine happened to get scratched on 1 of the lenses my prior 800.00 glasses from the prior year scratched and was told i should have brought them back and would have been replaced for free so today after 2 months i was told 350.00 they would have to replace both lenses no warranty . we will purchase on line from now on like my son who pays less than 150.00 for his glasses after sending in his prescription. i have no problem throwing away 150.00 glasses when scratched.
My son went there to get a prescription and new glasses and the staff there were very snooty and rude. The Dr that checked his vision was rushing him and didnt take her time to listen to him. Not only that but something metal fell on his foot n they didnt even apologise to him. I will NOT take my son back there again. Very rude staff. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Absolutely the rudest staff that we have ever dealt with and this is after 3 separate negative experiences, both in store and on the phone. Service rep was not even willing to listen to me and the dilemma we are experiencing at this time due to COVID. Will not go back.
Appt at 6pm. Got a voicemail at 430 the day of my appt to try to be there by 530. I didnt call back to confirm that i could because my schedule needs me to have a 6pm appt. Showed at 6:12 and dr had already left. So you want me to show up 30 minutes early but cant wait 12 minutes? Last i checked the store is open until 7pm. Girls at the counter made me feel like I was inconsiderate like i should have known the dr would leave before store closing. Ill go somewhere else from now on.
They have really turned things around at this location in the past year. No more long waits, the staff was all upbeat, and the new doctor was great. Her bubbly personality and cheerful demeanor was infectious. By the end of my eye exam I was cheerful too.Natalie was very helpful and pleasant while ringing me out. Answered all my questions and looked at my past purchase records to help me recreate the pair of custom sunglasses I lost. Even found me the best discount for them.I used to only go here because it was close and put up with the inconveniences, but not anymore!Well done, A+

Consistently and inconveniently late on orders. I’ll be traveling abroad shortly and was told my shipment of contact lenses would arrive a week before my departure but now they won’t arrive on time and I don’t know how I’ll be able to see while traveling. Staff is wonderful but the businesses as a whole is completely unreliable. Don’t not use and find somewhere else for your vision needs.

Went to Visionworks today and had a wonderful experience. I was a little early, they got me right in and filled out paperwork. Saw the doctor within a few minutes. Dr Sienko was great and she took a little time to talk to me about things I can do to make things a little easier on my eyes. Really appreciated her time. Then I met with Irene and she helped me pick out glasses and sunglasses. She was honest with me and helped narrow down my choices. I felt like the staff enjoyed what they do and it showed. Definitely a very positive experience. 🙂 Highly recommend them!
Service was friendly and fast. Everyone explained everything that was going on. Lots of glasses to choose from. Explained exactly what my insurance covered so there were no surprises. Irene was wonderful! She measured and fit the frames to me. Explained what progressives were. The place was clean as inviting. Nice place.

I would 100% recommend Empire Visionworks to anyone! They were super helpful and the staff was great! I must say after coming in and having the doctors and staff giving me a thorough but swift experience I am very pleased with the service here! They helped me pick out glasses and contacts and get a great price (I even went around and price match) I would recommend this location to anyone!
Great selection! I went there for a new pair of prescription sunglasses and was very pleased with their choices. The whole staff was very knowledgeable. Not only was everyone able to answer my technical questions, but they also provided great style advice!
Natalie Swain is the most helpful, educated and fashion forward optician. We had the pleasure of using her assistance while at Visionworks and very happy with our overall visit. Had my appointment 3 weeks ago was told I would get a call as soon as my new glasses were ready, never got a call. Wife called because I work 12 hour days and the lady told her they have been ready since last Wednesday. Drive an hour to get to the store to find out they close at 4pm when the website and the woman on the phone said they close at 6pm. So beyond aggravated.
This store is terrific! Had a great experience from the beginning check in till I picked up my glasses, which came in early. Everyone was so nice, also when I lost a nose piece they quickly fixed it. Im sending my husband next. Thanks for everything!

Never going back. I felt the staff couldnt care less about my concerns regarding my contact lenses. It appears their answer to everything is Thats our policy. Thank goodness I have two optometrists. I left Visionworks and headed straight to my other doctor. I was able to get my contact needs met by a more professional operation the same day. Skip this place if you can.

My whole family comes to this specific location for the staff!! Three kids, a husband and myself. The kids love the help they receive when picking out new frames and its super convenient for my husband to stop in on his way home from work. Staff is super helpful and friendly. I wouldnt go anywhere else!!!
I ordered my contacts on 4/24. I did receive any phone call or notice that my contacts were being shipped to my home. When I called in June, I was told my contacts were shipped to my home (I did not receive them). So, I had to tell the staff to please have them shipped to the store and I would pick them up to avoid another delay. As of 7/31, I received no phone call or notice that my contacts arrived. I called the store and thankfully the contacts were there. But over 3 months to wait for something I paid for and NEED is a bit much. Someone should have called me to let me know my contacts were in.
Was able to make an appointment within a few days from calling and upon arrival, the staff was very friendly. I saw Dr. Sienko who was very pleasant and helpful. Went in for an eye exam at a busy time with a minimal wait and had a great experience with every worker I encountered.
I choose this company because they are in my insurance network. When my new glasses arrived they were two weeks later than promised AND incorrect. In addition to the wrong transitions color, the lenses were also cut wrong so that one eye was clear, the other not.The process of fitting them was a total farce, she did little to make the fit right. They fell off just by looking down. I tried them though and took them back a week later to have them fixed.Second joke on me...though they said they would call me when they came in...they did not. I finally called them to find out where they were, and discovered they had been there for 2 plus weeks. They just did not bother to call.Terrible service, uncaring and incompetent.I advise everyone to avoid this company like the plague, insurance or not.
The staff was very helpful when I was picking out my glasses. I was able to get a pair of glasses with my insurance and there was a great sale so I bought two more pair of glasses as well. They come in pretty quickly too. Overall great experiance.

The people who greeted me were kind, and the doctor was knowledgeable, but the lady who took my money on the way out made me feel like I was intruding on her space, i dont even think she said hello... she just rattled off a number (the price)....after an uncomfortable 5 minute wait while she punched numbers into a computer. After having similar experiences in the queensbury store I think this was my last time with empire vision.

Everything was great until I went to pick up my glasses and their listing on Google is for 8pm close and they closed at 7pm, missed it by 6 minutes. Doc was good, workers are upbeat.

I have had difficulty getting the right pair of eyeglasses for years. My eyes are extremely hard to fit. I worked with Irene who was just amazing. She is knowledgeable, patient, and picked out frames that looked good on me in no time at all. When my glasses did not work right the first time she knew EXACTLY what the problem was, and exactly how to fix it. I wouldnt go anywhere else to get my glasses other than empire visionworks. The staff was great, but in terms of someone really knowing their craft, Irene takes the cake!

Why do so many of the associates here have such attitudes? Yikes.I was here in March and one of the associates told me my vision plan covered 1 pair every two years, the next associate said that was completely wrong and I get 1 pair every year.Fast forward to December, same associate tells me I get one pair every two years, perhaps it was the insurance company who was wrong, or that I had two vision plans. What is going on here???When I questioned the accuracy, her attitude escalated. Seems as though she’s gotten away with it for far too long and that’s a baseline of how she treats customers.
I had the worse experience at this location. After 3.5 months they still couldnt get my Rx correct. They just did not listen when I said I couldnt see clearly. I finally gave up and they did give me back my money without any problems. My husband had the same issues but gave up and still has issues with his distance in his glasses. I finally went to Vaughn Vision in Saratoga and had an exceptional experience. I would not recommend Visionworks to anyone. I gave 1 star because the manager did give me my money without any issues. I just wish I didnt wait over 3 months .
Needed an appointment within a week aand was able to get one just few days from the day i called. Irene helped me find frames that fit my face well and even looked though the drawers to find my perfect frames in black (they were the last ones!) They even had the lenses i needed right on hand so i was able to pick them up on my way home from work. Also i love that theyre open a little later than most places so going after work is an option. Wull definitely recommend this location!
Whenever I go here, there is an issue. When my first pair of glasses was ready, no one bothered to call me to let me know.When I came in to pick up a second pair of glasses that I already paid for, I was told to wait in the waiting area. I could see it was going to be a long wait, so after waiting for ten minutes, I asked for them to just give me my glasses, so I wouldn’t have to wait. I tried them on and no adjustment was needed. If I hadn’t spoken up, I would have waited for at least 30 minutes for no reason.The staff doesn’t present as being attentive or professional.

Their customer service is great, however whatever company they use to fill contact lens orders are the most inept, lame people ever. I spent $800 for a year supply of contacts and as of the 4th try the order is still not correct. Unbelievable!
Whenever I am here at Vision Works in Saratoga Springs, everyone is extremely helpful. I have a hard time picking out new frames, Nyckie abd Beth are there to help and have never steered me wrong. I will always recommend this store!
Unable to speak with anyone Discrepancies on my prescription
My experience was really bad. I got contact lenses for the first time in my life at age 36 years old. After my eye exam, I was told within a week, I will get a call that my temp contacts were in. The process would mean get my temps, take a quick 15 minute class on how to use them. And about a week after using the temps, I would get my permanent ones. I got called a week after my exam. I was told to come in and get my contacts. I left work early to go get them. I was very excited. I got there and they had my permanent contacts, but not my temps. They didnt order my temps. They said they were sorry. And said we will expedite your temps, because we cant give you your permanent ones until we know the temps work. A week later I was called and told my contacts were in. I left work early and went to go get them. This time I walked in and they handed me the temps and said have a good day. I said Dont I need a class first? I never wore contacts before. I was then told that a class was never scheduled. So they could not give me my temp contacts yet. The women that told me this also said, She could do the class, but had to go to lunch in 15 minutes. She then scheduled me for 2 days later. When I asked to speak with the doctor the second time, I was called in and told come get your contacts, and left with nothing. The office assistant spoke with the doctor and then came back. The response I got from the doctor was this We wouldnt have scheduled a training session because your contacts did not get in until today. I replied Then why would you call me and tell me to come in and get them? It was an awful experience. I would never go back! They just make mistake after mistake and seem not to care. They just move on to the next customer. They just have no leadership on the floor. No one is held accountable. So mistakes are often, and not pointed out for correction.

0 patience for children. Just an assembly line. They wont spend 5 minutes with a child that needs more time. The receptionist was very rude and impatient.
Terrible Customer Service. They broke my daughter’s glasses during an adjustment, and we had to fight to get a new frame. They never apologized and the frame they offered was ugly and cheap. We had two dried out contacts out of the box and they wouldn’t replace them. We had inconsistent quotes on prices and what the insurance covered depending on who you talked to. They also didn’t do the complete spectrum of testing that we had at Saratoga Vision. Overall, just a bad office.
Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. I had a problem with my frames. I thought I would go to the Amsterdam location since I live there. They were no help and very rude at that location. I went back to Saratoga and they had me out in 5 minutes. I will make the 45 minute drive to Saratoga in a heartbeat before stepping foot in the Amsterdam office.

My wife made me finally go get glasses, and to my joy I discovered that I can get snazzy prescription sunglasses as well! I dont use my regular glasses much, but I practically live in my sunglasses and they have always made the process super easy!
I was there 3 times in the past 2 weeks. The staff is consistently rude and treated me like there arent other locations to buy glasses. Possibly because they make it very difficult to get your actual prescription, they dont do the full prescription either, they dont check your pupillary distance until you actually purchase glasses, so your prescription is not complete if you try and take it anywhere else. This is not the only shady move, they also placed a hold on my insurance so if I went somewhere else it would take several days to have that hold removed after requested (a sort of punishment for shopping elsewhere) They put down the quality of lenses online, yet you can get full scratch coverage from glassesusa or similar. Visionworks I called my insurance provider and shared the prices I was given at Visionworks and they confirmed that their prices are grossly exaggerated, an $20 for scratch protection was typical. This place is no different than a stereotypical used car lot (no offense to quality used car lots, J&J Auto Sales I am referring to you, you guys are awesome!) I definitely am recommending to my friends and colleagues to do business elsewhere. Read the other negative reviews, they are accurate. I hope this review helps you make an educated decision.Regards

The staff are super friendly and helpful. They are really busy so there is some waiting, but when they are with you they really pay attention and take their time, worth the wait!
This place is a joke. They dont listen to your concerns, you wait FOREVER.. even when theyre not busy... deciding whats for lunch is more important. Been wearing glasses for over 30 years and Im a retail manager... some of the worst service Ive ever seen. Go somewhere else.

I usually go to a different VisionWorks location but they couldn’t get me in so I tried this location and was so glad I did. The people here are so friendly the eye dr was very nice. Needless to say I’ll be going to this location from now on

Staff was friendly, and the doctor was precise and asked many questions to make sure there was no further issues. Got some decent frames for cheap.
The personnel were all very accommodating, but, the Dr. left when I was waiting for the second half of my eye exam after having my eyes dilated and after waiting over 45 minutes when I asked when I would finish my exam they had to call the Dr. back to complete the exam! Pretty unorganized Id say!
