Most definitely the worst Zales store period to go to the reps never could find your information on there systems! If you decide to buy anything prepare to wait another half hour just so there computers catch up. Horrible experience every time I go. Unfortunately I have to see them for my diamond inspection
There was an issue with my ring when it came back from being resized. They were quick to order a replacement to resolve the issue. The new ring arrived a week later and I’m very happy with it. Miriam kept me updated on the replacement. She turned a very frustrating situation into a positive one. Would shop here again.
Not like it used to be that is for sure. Warm and welcome now its cold and unwelcoming!
Well, looking at all the past reviews, it really is a shame at how harsh people can be. (Here’s a positive review and my story) Honestly, every jewelry store has its flaws and can be pushy sales people. That’s the industry people. Jewelers want your business because they realize how much options you have as a consumer. Do YOUR research and COMPARE your options when making a large jewelry purchase. [and bless your soul if you think Kay or Jared is better than Zales. Trust me their not.] I only care about the rare gems and discounts offered, forget about customer service. Think about when you go to buy a car or a house, you’ll most likely experience the same type of “customer service”. That’s why they are called SALES people. Anywho, I am a proud Zales customer and for awesome reason: their products speak for themselves. I keep coming back to this location because I had honest and integrity in the sale. You have to work either with Mariam or Christiane. I first purchased a wedding band for my wife back in 2018 and ever since, my wife and I loved coming here. Up until recently, I attended a vendor show at this location (thanks to Christiane) and their diamonds were beautiful. I got a huge discount and a flawless custom ring. I highly recommend them!
Assistant Manager Miriam T. helped me out tremendously. I came in to retrieve an online web order. I wasnt satisfied with the order. Miriam assisted in returning the order to ensure proper refund be processed to receive credit back in my original form of payment. She also helped me find a great piece similar to my taste of what she perceived on the web order, informed me about store specials with additional discounts offered, and was very professional, friendly, and thorough. I definitely will be returning. The store had more options and variety to choose from than the Orland Park location with much better vibes.
Worst place ever! Too bad that there is no lower rating than one star. They are canceling the life time warranty out of nowhere even though it was bought by me as a client when the item gets broken!Truly don’t recommend to buy from them! Even if the price might look tempting - If you want quality and good service then DO NOT BUY from this place! The manager was rude and disrespectful to us as their clients and also he was being very sarcastic and mocking us when we were asking them why it is showing on the receipt but they said we actually didn’t buy it.I never write any reviews to harm anyone‘s business but this place deserves the worst one of all.
I had bought a ring that was defective and took it to this store to get it fixed. The assistant manager (i think her name is Merriam??) was SO kind and went WAY above and beyond to assist me and make sure we got everything corrected!! I would recommend this Zales solely based off of her customer service and how well she handled my situation! Thank you
When my husband originally bought the ring they told him they had a size 5 at another location and could have it shipped to the store in 3-5 business days. Of course that didn’t happen. Inventory was off and we had to wait for one at the warehouse. That took over 2 weeks and we missed our photo shoot with the ring. Fast forward to 2020. The ring was a size to big so we dropped it off Jan 5 for a ring sizing. We were given a promised date of Jan 18th- although most places can have the ring sized the same day. Come now the 21st and finally I can have my ring back. Took forever. The only nice person was John on the phone. He’s super understand but seems to be there all the time.
If I could go lower on the stars I would. I went shopping here for a engagement ring and found the one I was looking for after months of looking. They had a sale going for it that ended the day I got there. The sales person was unfriendly, had no clue what she was talking about, and instead of being helpful and giving the sales price she tried just pushing me to apply for their credit card. Any other store would have honored this. Would have expected more from them. They missed a easy sale. This completely ruined our day as we drove hours to go to this location to find this ring specifically. Really felt like we werent valued as customers.
Tania is Amazing!! She was so kind to allow me to return my online order and she won me over by her kindness in-store as well as over the phone, to return again and again! Thank you, Tania!
Before Covid, I had my ring sent to repair due to missing diamonds. When I received my ring back, a diamond was still missing and discoloration of the stone. I call the store to send it back for repair. Unfortunately I never made it due to the closure of the store because of Covid-19. Once the stores reopen, I took my ring to the store and was told they can not repair my ring at this time. I contacted a zales representative and was informed that if I’m unhappy with the ring, I can exchange for something different because I had a warranty. The representative gave me various of numbers that I would need to show the salesperson. I went to the store on a Saturday and was turned around by the saleswomen and manager. I informed them what the zales representative said and they informed me that there was nothing they can do. I called zales again and had to open a case. I do not recommend this location!!!
When my husband and I first looked for a ring for me, the salesman was very helpful. This was four years ago now, however, and things have definitely changed. I went in yesterday and the two associates were busy with customers. Thats fine, I completely understand. One of the associates walked right past me to grab something for their customer and she would not even look in my direction to acknowledge that I was standing there waiting. If someone wouldve greeted me and told me theyll be with me soon I would have been completely okay with that. My issue lies with the lack of customer service and decency to acknowledge that I was standing there and that I would be helped when they were done. Unfortunately the closest location to me has closed making this the new closest.I would just like to add: I just read a review about an older Indian lady not acknowledging a different customer. I find it interesting that two years later, it appears that same lady is still working there and also ignored me.
One star because I had to in order to do this review. Called today about a purchase I was looking to do online. Before I checked out decided to call the store to inquire a little bit more about the product and got the worst customer service. It was so bad I hung up on her in mid sentence she didn’t want to listen to my questions and kept cutting me off I couldn’t get a word in. I guess I will go with another jeweler because I refuse to spend my money with these people!
My boyfriend and I both bought promise rings for each other here and every time we walk into this store we have a great experience. Workers are so helpful and are quick to assist you and chat with you about their product. Of course if the store is crowded they will be busy but they will always acknowledge you and make you feel welcome. Even when we come to resize rings they are fantastic. I will definitely be shopping here again!
Came in here and was immediately drawn to the unstoppable love collection. I am grateful that I found my piece and they were accommodating with the price (thats why 3 stars and not 1 star) but there was 2 big problems.1.) The diamond necklace that was sold to me had a full carat as the center stone. In the store everything was so sparkly under these super bright lights. When I got it home (and under low light) there was a serious big black carbon spot on the diamond. Completely noticeable to the human eye. I went to a different location to exchange it. And thats where we have problem number 2.2.) I went to a different location to exchange the piece and they told me Woodfield never bothered to enter my information in the system. Meaning it wasnt registered. So Id have to bring my receipt every time I need to do a diamond clean and check. This is so risky what if I dropped the receipt on my way to the store. That means my purchase is gone---Forever!!I have purchased jewelry before from a mall and they always register what piece I purchased.Sloppy and quite frankly not acceptable for spending $4,000.
My girlfriend found an engagement ring she liked, so we went in on a busy Saturday night to try it on and for me to get my first look. I came in with an item number ready to go, and our sales associate pulled it out quickly and was patient. I went to make a quick call and left my girlfriend with the associate and when I came back my girlfriend said our associate had turned down 4 other customers just to stick with us and finish, even when I had to rudely excuse myself. Purchased the ring after we were sure it was the one we wanted, the only thing we tried to get sold was the paid warranty, which wasnt right for us for a number of reasons, but honestly didnt seem like an unreasonable price.I saw all the other reviews before writing and was wary, but it was a very enjoyable experience, perhaps because we already knew what we wanted for the most part.Cheers.
Horrible! Went in there to have my rings inspected and cleaned. Waited 10 minutes and didnt even get acknowledged. Checked the time on my phone and decided to wait 5 more minutes. Still no acknowledgement so I walked out. I understand that they may have been busy, but just let customers know you will be with them shortly. Now, the problem is where am I supposed to get my rings cleaned and inspected if I cant even get service. I have diamond agreements with them.
Wow, I bought a Vera Wang engagement ring and matching wedding band with the promise that there is a lifetime warranty. Much to my displeasure, there is an employee working at the Woodfield store who is rude and condescending. Twice I have dealt with her and have been treated like crap. Now they are telling me that without the paperwork for the bi-annual inspections, my warranties are not valid. They do not keep that information on their system? I find it hard to believe that a big company like Zales does not keep customer information on their systems for inspections and cleanings? They keep my information for marketing purposes. This company has gone down the drain ever since they were bought out by Kay, Jared etc. The Vera Wang collection is just not worth the hassle to deal with these people. Thankfully I bought my wedding band from another store instead of Zales. Saved $1,199.00 on the purchase too!Rogers and Holland Jewelry store has much better customer service, and they gave me the sale price on my wedding band that Zales would not offer me. Zales said the store cannot offer online sales pricing. Really? Then I guess thats why I didnt buy from them!Zales = Zero!Zero pricing breaks, Zero Customer Service & Zero concerns for the products they peddle on you.
Walked in looking for a gold necklace and earrings. Counted 4 employees not assisting anyone and no one even greeted me or asked if I needed help. Is this store here to make money or what. Terrible, walked out after 5 minutes dissatisfied.
I would do -20 stars if I could. I went to the Woodfield mall location asking to turn my ring in to get it fixed, considering we paid for the warranty. They said my only option was to turn it in for a new ring because it cant be fixed. Um.. Its my engagement ring.. Why would I want a different ring. I then drove all the way to Gurnee location.. which is twice as far from my house and they took it in no problem. Everyone from the Woodfield location needs to be fired and replaced. Wish my ring was purchased from a different diamond store so I never have to deal this again.
This location is the WORST! From the crabby store clerk with her horrible attitude to the fact that nobody seems to answer the phone! Also stone fell out of my engagement ring only 3 days after receiving it.
Great place! Marcy was so helpful. I would do business here again. Very patient & helpful.
They actual close at 6 not 7 like google says....
I wound not come to this store ever again.
I broke two diamonds from my engagement ring, so I decide to bring it there for repair. I have lifetime warranty on this ring. When we went there, they ask me fist for some paperwork, if I do have it. Then they found me by the phone number, name and address. Anyway after all, they refuse to repair my ring under warranty, because Apparently there was a hidden catch that I have to do inspection on my ring every six months and I didnt. Also the guy who was helping me there was kind of mean asking me how I can break a diamond? Horrible experience! I will never go near Zales store again!!!!!!HORRIBLE... I will recommend you to not buy anything from Zales!
Customer service is terrible. Wouldn’t deal with this place ever again
The staff was great
I agree with one of the previous reviewer saying there is an Indian lady that has no customer service skills. The Zales by my house closed and now I keep having to come to this one, the first time my ring was supposed to get rhodium polished and they did a TERRIBLE job if they did anything at all to it maybe they just lied to me. This send time around I havent received it but I never got a call or email telling me my ring was ready. It has been sitting there for a month 🙄 Im so frustrated and upset with this store.
I would give this store 0 stars if I could. The sales representative did not make it clear at all that she was signing my boyfriend up for a Zales credit card while she was checking if he qualified. When we said we didn’t want the credit card, her advice was just to “cut it up.”Terrible service and the rings, for which they charge thousands of dollars, look like costume jewelry. Avoid at all costs
**No words to describe how upset I am*Finally got my ring back to find out it was not filed correctly and my ring had been in the store for a few weeks.I had my ring on for less then 24 hours and the diamond fell out. So my ring was not fixed and I was lied throughout the whole process.I have been waiting since June 22nd, 2016 for a district manager to call me. I now find out she is on vacation,as well as the store manager. So, I continue to wait. My husband or I will never buy another piece of jewelry from Zales. I doubt anyone in my network of family and friends will either.Hopefully I will be able to wear my engagement ring in the near future, but looking unlikely.BEWARE!
I came to have the circumference of my fore finger measured because there were a few rings online I was interested in and needed the measurement to place an online order. In the store I browsed the selection and a few rings caught my attention. During the selection process the staff was paitent, courteous, and helpful. They cleaned a ring I had with me for free but also recommended I have a more extensive cleaning done when I have the ring I purchased sized. This resulted in the tarnished ring being restored to new condition. The first ring I purchased could not be resized without risking damage to the onyx tthe diamond pattern sat on. I returned to Zales and the staff was as helpful and courteous in the exchange as they were in the original purchase. People who live near this location should feel fortunate to have a jeweler that conducts business with such a high level of customer service without pressure.
I called to ask if it would be possible to look up past orders in their system because I need to know the original size of my husbands wedding band that he lost because I was reordering online...(from a different store because Zales is too expensive.) The girl on the phone first told me that they couldnt reveal that information over the phone because it was against privacy policies?? I asked to speak to a manager who then told me the size wouldnt be in the records of purchases. If that is actually true, which I highly doubt, shouldnt that have been the first thing you tell me? You guys look quite incompetent..thanks for nothing!
Outstanding service and very knowledgeable jewelers! Very impressed!
On December 7th I ordered necklace and earrings as a Christmas present for my daughter. I received the necklace about 1 week after I ordered, but no earrings. I called customer service, who assured me that my item and shipped and was on its way. A week went by and still no earrings. So I called back where another person informed me that my item had NOT shipped but was still at the warehouse. They gave me a discount and again assured me it would be shipping. 2 days before Christmas I call for an update and they tell me the earrings will arrive Dec 26th, the day after. It is now January 5th and still no earrings or refund in sight for my item I ordered a month ago now. I will never order from Zales again because of the lies I was told and now the issue with even receiving a refund for an item that was never even shipped to me.
Very unethical and rude staff.. they don’t know how to treat customer and misguides customer with the return policy. I simply had to visit 3-4 times for a small return and had to wait for 40 mins and call customer care and so on.. staffs will not cooperate.think twice before visiting that store.
Called 5 times and they didnt answer the phone. Went somewhere else.
Fine jewelry and decent price
I thought Christine was very nice and helpful. Cant speak for the others but my experience was good.
Jewelry shows love! Zales is fantastic!
The shittiest service ever! My BF bought a necklace for our anniversary and when I opened it it had 1 diamond missing. We came back to get another one. They didnt have the same oneand we had to find another necklace. We found and it was 50$ more expensive than the previous one. No excuses, no sorries from sale assosiate and manager... Just rudeness and yelling at us. We gently asked to give us 15% off from the 50$ difference, cause we spend time and money instead of celebration our Holliday in restaurant and of course they didnt give it to us. I was in shock that how manager and sales assosiate talked with customer!
On line it says it is open today but, it is not. 11:39 and I have to get my ring checked before today ends and this is my only chance I have to work.
My boyfriend proposed on July 2, 2016 with a beautiful diamond ring that needed to be resized. I took it in on July 5, 2016 and was told I would get it by July 26, 2016 at the latest. I called a few days before because I had another ring resized there and it came in early but no one called. When I called I asked the sales associate to put in the noted for someone to give my fiancé a call when the ring came in and I was told that he would be emailed but since I requested a call Id get a call instead. I called on the 26th in the afternoon and the associate (an older Indian lady) first told me the ring was not there. I informed her that the associate I spoke with a few days before said it would be there for sure on the 26th. She proceeded to yell at me saying WELL IT ISNT... before she got out another word I said Im not exactly sure why youre yelling but you need to lower your voice speaking to me. She then asked AGAIN what my infomation was and I again gave it to her. She then said oh, its here. I wasnt called to be informed that the ring was there like I was rudely promised. When I got to the store I looked at older Indian lady and smiled. She turned her head not even knowledging that I was in the store. So another associate helped me.Very very poor customer service. And the wait time for resizings are ridiculous. Someone I know got engaged at the same time and her fiancé went to Jared. She went to get her ring resized and got it back the same day.Zales has a nice selection but Id rather go somewhere that has better customer service.
The staff that works at this location are extremely unorganized, lack basic customer service skills and above all are unreliable. I was shopping for a wedding ring for myself and a wedding band for my fiance when I saw a nice mens tungsten ring in their case. I was not looking for anything special for my wedding ring, just something that didnt look cheap and this wedding ring for under $200 fit the bill. After dealing with a seemingly distracted and all-around unhelpful sales staff, I reluctantly decided to purchase the ring since it was exactly what I was looking for. The ring comes in a size 10 off the shelf but it was a little too big for me so I requested one in a size 9.5. After completing the sale and special-order form, I left feeling more like a burden than a valued customer. Whatever, nothing some fresh air couldnt fix. To my surprise, I receive a call about a week and-a-half later saying my ring has arrived and I can come pick it up. Receiving a call when the ring arrived was about the only thing Zales did right. I dont recall the name of the employee but I believe it was, Jessica. Anyway, I get to their location in Woodfield Mall and am happy to receive the ring about two weeks ahead of schedule. I try the ring on and it almost falls right off. I look at the bag it came in and lo and behold, its a size 10, not the 9.5 I ordered. The distracted salesman I dealt with the first time ordered the wrong size. I immediately work with the sales staff to correct this since I am getting married in less than two months and cannot afford another mistake like this. Although the lady I worked with was well intentioned, she was obviously not prepared for this difficult of a situation. She fumbled with the computer not knowing how to work it and was not familiar with any procedure to fix this issue. Having worked in retail while in school, I simply suggested refunding the original sale and reordering another ring in the correct size. I kept my cool as I could tell she was trying to help, but how can you not know any of the company policy or how to use the register/computer? She could have been new to Zales but she made zero mention of it so Im not inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt. There are now three strikes against Zales. We finish the order and I take it upon myself to call in once a week to see if it has arrived even though it is their responsibility to let me know when it comes in. I just dont trust them enough at this point to even do that. I call again today, Monday September 7th, and my order is not in their system. Perfect! They have my money but no ring was ordered. I request over the phone that she check their backroom to possibly see if the ring has come in even though she does not see it in the system. After waiting over the phone wondering how to best break this to my fiance and keep my calm having to go to Zales to demand a refund, the staff finally picks up the phone and apparently my ring was sitting in the back. No call to inform me my ring has arrived, a basic store responsibility. If my wedding were not so close, I would return the ring and shop elsewhere. I am only grateful that we did not purchase my fiances wedding band from them or I would have been extremely upset. Ill be going in today or tomorrow to see if they ordered the correct size this time but my hopes are not high. From one dissatisfied customer to potentially many more, shop elsewhere if at all possible.Alex
I purchased a $2k Movado watch at this location, 3 months later the bracelet broke. I took it to the location and this rude bleach blonde hair lady tells me theres no warranty on the watch and that theyd have to send it out to be estimated to fix it. They certainly didnt act this way when they took the money for the watch, they were super nice and accommodating in every sense. What a horrible experience, I will never EVER purchase anything from this place again in my life, but will definitely get in touch with Movado to make sure they know that the retailer that is selling their product is making them look bad. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE people who have 0 customer service and do not know how to accommodate their customers. By the way Movado website that the watch has 2 year warranty that they will fix and or replace if needed be.
If I could Id give this place a Zero. So picture rainy weekend Woodfield Mall. All Stores packed .. But interestingly ZALES. Not One Customer. So right there immediately was RED FLAG.. 3 OLDER LADIES ( SALES ASSOCIATES) all were sitting in a huddle chatting. I walk in and try to be nice & funny & said .. Ok which one of you lucky ladies can take care of me?!. Not even a tiny smile the older one just pointed to the other associate and said she will. I knew right then that this wasnt going good. My husband bought me a silver 4 leaf clover necklace not even 3 months ago.. Chain broke . I purchased my daughter an Infinity bracelet around Christmas time & it broke. So you can see their quality in jewelry not so Great... I nicely tell the Grumpy lady my situation says it will cost me $25 each to Repair..!! Seriously and then said its not guaranteed ... Ahhh so Im going to pay another $25 each for some poor quality again. Thanks. But No Thanks. Then she had the nerve to say WHY MY HUSBAND DIDNT PURCHASE THE PROTECTION PLAN.. With a Snippy attitude.. That was then it! I shot her attitude straight back. Said give me my jewelry back & im never going to do business with them ever again! 1:30 pm Rainy Saturday and that place was a frikin GHOST TOWN.. Need I say more. Those 3 ladies need to Brush up on their Customer Service Skills or they will continue being a Ghost Town! I highly recommend you guys ship @ Michael Hill 1 st floor close to Macys ... We bought our engagement & wedding bands there last year. Awesome quality. Great Customer Service @ Michael Hill. You wont be sorry. Great Selection as well as prices😀
Five star serviceThank you Marcy for helping me
Very frustrating customer service. Purchased engagement ring with this store & decided to custom-create my wedding band as well. Service was outsourced to a jeweler in NYC and was promised to be completed within 2 weeks. I called to follow up on when I could come pick up the ring and the clerk told me the work had JUST started the week before and wouldnt be completed for another 14 days! We had already scheduled engagement pictures knowing the ring would be back as promised. They overnighted the ring back 1 day before the pictures and a small stone on the band of the ring had fallen out!!! I was unable to get the wedding band at the time of pick up b/c the jeweler still needed another 9 days to work on the wedding band! I called the store to tell them a stone was missing and they told me when I come in to pick up the wedding band, the jeweler in store would be able to fix the stone as long as I came in before he left. I was there 45 minutes before he was suppose to leave and waited 10 minutes to be helped. Then was told the jeweler is leaving now and the ring would take an hour to fix. I explained my story, the clerk wasnt willing to try and get the jeweler to stay at first until I was more deliberate. So finally she walked away to the back, rudely, and returned within 5 minutes, and the ring was fixed! However, it was a shoddy job. The stone is either too small for the bracket or was shoved was too far in and is noticeably different than the rest of the stones on the band. She said it would take an hour but he obviously rushed to complete it in 5 minutes just so he can leave on time!! This is the 2nd time the stone has fallen out of the ring. Regardless of my lifetime warranty, this whole process has taken up MY TIME and I was never compensated for any of the frustration by the store. The manager Marc just apologize (via email) to me about it and never offered anything. Of course they had already charged my credit card & werent willing to take an additional discount for their screw up. I am very disappointed in the customer service and will never recommend anyone purchase jewelery from Zales again. I would rather work w/ a private jeweler who cares about their reputation and is willing to bend over backwards for their short-comings and compensate the customer.
I originally got my ring from this store but the stone fell out and it only had been less than a year since I got the ring.. I went back and the customer service was HORRIBLE. I decided to go to the location at the Chicago
I would give them less if i could worst first experience buying diamond rings i bought a ring that didnt fit so i got it resized they told me it would take two weeks i started calling after two weeks to check on my ring since I wouldnt hear from then but they always had a hard time finding my info. A month passed and finally my ring gets there but i only knew it got there cause i made sure i called every day on the third week they never called me to let me know it got there. At one point the guy said yes it will be in today but you need to call us to verify it is here. In my mind i was like what??????? You cant even call me to let me know?!! Anyway when it finally arrived i went in after work and it took me at least half hour for the lady to find my rings she couldnt fine me in the system even with my drivers license what a joke!!!! And on top of that she was moody and i felt like she was giving me attitude the entire time. I wil NEVER EVER WILL BUY ANYTHING HERE AGAIN!!!!!!
Its an okay place. Was a little upset when I was trying for this job, and they had me run yo 3 interviews, and not even tell me that I couldnt get the job. Talk about a waste of time and gas.
Great store and service
Terrible customer service. Staff doesnt know how to interact with customers. The store left my diamond loose after servicing. When I took it back (the same month) they required an additional 2.5 weeks to fix an error made on their side. Never fulfilled the promised date. Had a really hard time reaching their staff and they kept on telling me a pickup time each time I called them.Awful place to do business with. I would get a refund but it isnt possible.
We were supposed to collect ring shipped from Michigan and when called to check, they claimed they didnt received even tho they have it. Worst customer service ever.if u were unlucky and went there dont deal with girl wearing glasses. Soooo rude.
Expensive. Found similar watches from the same brand cheaper at Macys
Great service
Excellent jewelry store
Poor customer service
