My son and I stopped by while in town for travel hockey. Friendly staff and one of the best board game selections Ive seen in a store. I picked up a game that keeps selling out online, for CHEAPER than online prices. Will definitely be returning next time we are in the area.

Changing my 5 star review to a 1 star.UNOPENED, untouched games can only be returned same day for a refund, store credit only afterwards. Weve always supported gaming goat, spending hundreds of dollars a year here.Denying our refund on a 13 day return is your loss. But maybe dont shame customers for supporting your small business by saying You made the decision to purchase the game. Its just uncalled for and im done being a gaming goat supporter.

I had called this place 4-5 days in advanced about pokemon cards that they were going to have called hidden fates. I was told MULTIPLE different things about these cards. First person I talked to told me they were going to be available on a Monday for $50 dollars per box. So we show up that Monday and we were told it wasnt suppose to be there until Wednesday and the price changed to $60 dollars. So they advised us to show up Wednesday at 12PM at store opening to grab them. PLEASE explain why when we showed up on Wednesday 10-15 minutes early before 12PM, the store was already open, people were already lined up in the store purchasing these cards. By the time we got to the register, the cards were already SOLD OUT. Im EXTREMELY upset about this customer service because I feel robbed and misinformed. I never had a fair chance to purchase these cards even though I followed all of their instructions and protocols. So the same day I went to Baseline Sports Cards @ 1698 W Wise Rd #3551, Schaumburg, IL 60193 and they took care of me with ease.. Big thanks to DON. I wouldnt trust this Gaming goat customer service. It seems that they cater to their people and friends before customers. THUMBS DOWN

The store has an immense variety of games on the shelf, from party games to heavy weight. I always leave with a few extra games to add to my collection.

Love this store! I went to the soft opening on Saturday, 9/26/2020 and had a great time. The new owner, Michael, is friendly and knowledgeable. The store has a great selection of games for all ranges of gamer player. Highly recommend checking them out! So glad they are permanently open!

My friend and I bought Pokemon Champions Path ETB boxes from this place. Im suspicious about where they purchase their cards and boxes. The packs were already opened on the edges of the foil and for some reason, we got 5 of the same holographic card in 10 packs named Altaria. I would be extremely cautious and ask these people who their sellers are before buying anything of value here. Dont get ripped off like we did! THUMBS DOWN

What a HORRIBLE EXPERIANCE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE .... I have been calling this place every day for about FOUR DAYS to find out when there stock would arrive for the HIDDEN FATES ETBS each time I was informed different times and days. On my last attempt they told me that if i wanted to get one of these boxes i would need to be there when the store opens to make sure there shipment has arrived. When i arrived almost 15 minutes before the store opens it was already OPEN and THEY WERE SOLD OUT...... If i had known that they are allowing people to come earlier then store hours i would have been there 2 hours WAITING....My time was wasted and I was wrongfully informed even after calling every day. Never coming here again make sure you guys check out other card shops this one is a thumbs down ..

Went to this newish branch and got attentive friendly service. Most of the prices are within a couple of dollars of Amazon prices and some are actually cheaper.

Where is the shop located? Ive tried going here a couple of times and can not seem to find it. I tried using the address provided and it brought me across the street from where the store is supposed to be. However I still cannot seem to find where it actually is even after driving around the heart of town square

Great little place to get games, and a helpful owner. Awesome discounts on everything. The directions via Google are wrong though. You wont be disappointed if you make the trek to Schaumburg from wherever you are.

A great little shop nestled in a good spot right across from town square. The shop itself though small, was clean and overall nicely setup. Their selection of board games and mini figures where great as well! And the deals are fantastic 3 for $10 on booster packs is a steal imo considering how normal retail has them at 5 a piece. My only complaint however is just how quite it was. The lack of music made me feel a bit weird. Otherwise still a great shop that I will be coming back to in the near future.

This location specifies in board games and quick pick up games. Nothing hobby related to bite of. Also the items being sold do not notate any pricing which is confusing to know how much you spending.

I was very pleased with this game store. While I have not had a chance to play games there, I have spent many visits shopping. The prices are very good. They are basically internet prices. Their selection is also very elaborate and eclectic. Lastly, the staff is very informative and great to chat with. They seemed to know their board games and were willing to be honest when they didnt know something about a game. Overall I was very pleased with this shop and will definitely be back.

This is the best gaming store in the area. The prices are unbeatable, and the staff goes out of their way to help. They have tables inside so you and friends can sit down and play.

Went in person during store hours listed on Google and on their Facebook. No lights on and door was locked. No store hours posted on store frontage. Tried calling twice with no answer.

AWESOME, AWESOME shop! Amazing selection of games from gateway euros, to heavy ones, deck building games, dice games, kids games, scary games... you name it! And if they dont have it they will order it for you. Their prices are really good and usually cheaper than Amazon too. The staff, Cassidy and Murray are very friendly and knowledgeable and will easily guide you through the games in case you are not sure what to try next and even play them with you if asked! I think on Thursday people go there to play magic the gathering and every time I have gone there there are always people playing all sorts of games at the tables. I just cannot say enough good things about this place except that my husband and I love buying games here and are always looking forward to expanding our game collection. Go pay them a visit, you will love this place!

This is THE store you want to go to when it comes to searching for MTG singles! The selection cannot be beat, the prices cannot be beat, and the staff is ready to assist(Stan is awesome!).Ive been to quite a few game stores in the suburbs and Gaming Goat is by far the best! Dont go any where else! Seriously! You will NOT be disappointed.

Beware when you buy from this store. They do not stand behind the products they sell. I bought a game and found that it had damage to the box which I did not see until after I had removed the shrink. I took it back and was told that they dont accept returns once it has been opened. I contacted the Gaming Goat CEO since I have known him since he opened his very first store and he told me that there was no such return policy and he would contact the store so I could return it. I went back to the store abut a week later and was told there was nothing the CEO could do since he wasnt the owner. So I never was able to exchange it for a new one. This is a shame since they have really good stock and really good prices. But I cant in good faith shop here again nor recommend it to people without the caveat to check your box thoroughly before removing the shrink.

I regularly visit/buy from mom and pop game stores. The gentleman behind the counter albeit nice, was not very knowledgeable of store inventory or gameplay... Which is why you go into a store like this... to get suggestions and have conversations.I did still support the local business by purchasing a game, but it was one I figured out myself. I hope it was just an off day but I will choose other stores in future.

I went in for the first time with my kids. I was greeted and helped as soon as we entered. It was my first time there, and it was a great experience. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a friendly place to Buy,play,learn Magic. As well as have fun.

Great little store with an amazing selection and fantastic prices.

This store has a incredibly wide selection of tabletop games. Chances are if its in print, they have it in stock. My only gripe is that none of the products are price-marked, so I usually need to ask the staff to search for the prices of the products. They also have the standard game nights that you can find at most Local Gaming Stores.

Variety! I am a game shop junkie, and this one had plenty of games I had not seen elsewhere which is always exciting. If there is an expansion for your favorite game they will probably have it.One negative. No price tags. They have signs that say 30% off Manufacture Retail Prices. Which is great deal, but I still had to look up the MRP on my phone, because I did not want to look like a cheap dweeb asking about every game. However, when I found what I wanted unexpectedly, I was super happy with the price. Suck it Amazon.

Its a very nice store with a good number of cheaper games. Yes I will support a few other more focused stores in my area but good for that really high price game you have been eyeing for a long time.

Other game stores Ive gone into are very pretentious, elitist and borderline rude, that is not this store, these guys are fabulous, I went in with a question and looking for a game I needed to replace and was taken right to it and even had a similar game suggested in case I was looking for something new! Their prices are great, their staff is friendly, if your looking for games stop in they have everything!

This place is AMAZING. I love the staff and the over all atmosphere of the store. They always have what I need in stock, or are able to get it ASAP.

Went in not an hour ago. Bought a game, got home, opened it and found out the box was damaged. Called back and they said there was nothing they could do. I couldn’t exchange it for another copy or anything. SERIOUSLY?? I was told I couldn’t bring it back unless it was unopened. That’s how I found out the box was cracked. LITERALLY an hour. I bought all my games from you but I think I’ll shop elsewhere from now on.

Great selection of newer games. Had a shelf dedicated to Haba that worked out well for me. Also had a couple games I havent been able to find. Plus prices were excellent. About 25% off full MSRP.

Hopefully it was merely the employee working there that day, but considering he was the only one working and I was only in Schaumburg for the weekend, it was a terrible experience and I would not recommend going here to anyone. My single experience there as a customer is the worst customer experience I’ve ever had in a retail store and if you have the patience or care to know what you could potentially be walking into I have detailed that experience below.I called the store because I needed an X-Wing 2.0 core set (Adepticon did not have any oddly enough because FFG didn’t bring them and other booths selling X-Wing didn’t bring them because FFG was there.) The employee answered and advised he had 2 in-stock and I asked if he could hold them for me. He said sure and put the phone down for a couple minutes then came back and said he had them for me with my name taken down. 15 minutes later I show up to the store and ask the man at the register if he had the core sets at the counter. He barely acknowledges my presence and grunts that all the X-Wing stuff is at the opposite end of where we were at in the store and I remind him that I called in and he had them on hold for me. He abruptly says all he did was stack up the X-Wing stuff onto one of the back tables and rudely offered for me to look. A bit confused as to why he was acting this way I went over to the piles of X-Wing and failed to find even a single core set. Now, having to actually do some work, the employee begrudgingly came over and also could not find them. He checked his computer, the back storage, and all over the store with no success. He bluntly said that the computer says they have 2 but he can’t find them and didn’t even try to offer an apology let alone continue the sale like “hey, we have the new galactic republic and separatists ships and starters in.” I walked back and grabbed a Jedi Aethersprite because my friend wanted one and the whole time while checking out, the employee didn’t say a word to me... He just sheepishly looked down and avoided eye contact. Even when he handed me the bag with the receipt there was no “I’m really sorry we didn’t have that in stock” or “Hope you have a good day” at the minimum, just dead silence. Furthermore, I didn’t yell, or shame him in a way that would beckon such a response. When he said they didn’t have them I just laughed because they were the only game store within 20 miles that said they had them. I come up to Chicago a few times a year and I know I will never step foot in that store again. Funny enough, I ended up finding 3 core sets at a Barnes & Noble 5 minutes away from the shop and all of their X-Wing products were buy 1 get 1 50% off and still are at the time of writing this.If you made it through this far, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to read my story. I would like to hope that there are better employees working there that at least care about the customers coming in, but as I spend very limited time in Chicago throughout the year I don’t plan on trying to find out for myself.

Ive been looking for a gaming store since moving up here and The Gaming Goat is EVERYTHING I could have wanted. Board games, to CCGs to tabletop RPGs they have it. They even had some of the hottest games from GenCon before anyone else did! Would seriously recommend for any gaming nerd!!

Visited both locations yesterday. We were near the Elgin location, hard to find, had some cool games, although not the ones we were looking for. Drive over the the Schaumburg location. It is very easy to find, about 3x the size of Elgin. Staff was very nice, store was clean and organized. Found what we were looking for and more! Prices are competitive to online sellers. Schaumburg location is definitely worth the trip.

Just moved to the area and saw they had a ton of games through the window while getting my dry-cleaning. Ive been in a couple times to pick up a few things since their prices are on point with csi, miniature market, and games surplus, but the man behind the counter has been very off-putting each time.Every time Ive been in, the store operator has been playing EDH with his friends (the first time I thought no one was even working there), I am not greeted with any kind of smile or courtesy, and when asked to ring up or check availability on a game, I get a glaring shot of disdain as if I am interrupting his MTG play time. There have been a couple times when I have asked if he has something in stock and they do not, and there isnt even an offer to order it in. This makes me question if he even wants to sell anything or if he just wants to play MTG and be a glorified cashier? I am surprised that this place is open and has such great reviews when you dont even get a smile when you walk through the door. Last bit of disgust, the store operator blasts EDM music the whole time. Now, Im all for background noise, but it shouldnt be overbearing nor should it just be solely EDM in a public store setting.Run the store how you want, but I miss the friendly customer service of my old game store and will gladly go out of my way to purchase/ game elsewhere.2 stars for the good prices.
