Awesome diner! If you want breakfast this is the place! The staff are awesome and super helpful! We went as a large group and they accommodated us as best they could. The food was very good and came out really quickly for what was ordered. If you get toast do not miss the Italian bread!

I went there today at 10am and they were closed, no sign for vacation nothing online and I could taste that sausage, bacon, and cheese sandwich on a toasted hard roll! Wow that’s definitely disappointment! I want to move past that but everyone knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Lol . Communication works well!

Family run short-order breakfast place, been around since 1958. Very easy to miss. Even using Google Maps, we drove right by it, had to double back. Boy, Im glad we did!A converted first floor of an old home, its definitely old school, yet very clean and well maintained. We arrived a bit before the morning rush. The staff was very warm, friendly and attentive. They made sure we had beverages quickly, tool our order promptly and checked on us multiple times, even after things got busy. We sat at the counter so I could watch the action. Everything is fresh. Whole eggs, homemade Italian bread and the like. Sure, they had home fries, bacon and sausage mostly cooked on the grill, but this is a short-order place. The woman running the grill was efficient, accurate and fun to watch in action.I had an eggplant and mozzarella omelette, which was awesome! Italian bread toast was outstanding too. Give Peter Pause a try. Great place!

A great place for brunch! The atmosphere of this restaurant is really nice even though it can get really hot and busy. The sandwiches are really good. Defiantly get Italian bread. They use it for their French toast and its also delicious.Today I tried the hungry Dutchmen because Ive never had corn beef hash. It lacked some flavor but overall it was a solid meal.

Home town feeling, good food, good service, good coffee. You cant go wrong. My only beef is I am an early riser and they dont open until 7am.

This is our go to place! My 3 year old loves his blueberry pancakes! Our favorite part is the fact that staff is always so friendly. This year there was Santa greeting kiddos at the door and giving out goodie bags.

Its like clock work here...always the same never playing Restaurant Roulette. AMAZING FOOD, GREAT SERVICE & FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE. It has been my favorite Breakfast Spot for more then 30 years. But dont think you need to skip this place because you dont eat breakfast, the LUNCH is just as good.

Im not from Schenectady but was in the area to kill some time and ended up having one of the best breakfast sandwiches Ive had in awhile. Also the coffee cant be beat for a modest place like Peter Pause. Kind staff and vintage feels were a plus!

Close to my hotel and great little dinner. From the outside it doesnt look like much but the food and atmosphere of the typical US town and spirit is here.

I had the omelet with home fries with Italian toast. It was delicious and more than I could finish. Very good value for the money. Staff was wonderful.

Friendly, great service and the food is delicious❗Went for breakfast and watched the chef/owner was in the middle of making 125 breakfast sandwiches....she was able to continue making them and all of the present customer orders and take out orders❗She also bakes her own Italian Bread...available after 11 a.m. for $5 a loaf.... Definitely will be returning....

The 4.5 star rating online was VERY misleading! Yes, the prices were good and the breakfast was edible but my husband and I would have paid more than double for fresh blueberries (not frozen ones that turned my oatmeal into an unappetizing watery purple soup), real maple syrup as advertised and fresh fruit cup vs. that which the waitress shared came in a container! Warmth and hospitality of the staff was lacking despite what other reviewers said. Lastly, bathroom was not clean!

U stopped in for breakfast one morning, and was very happy. Had the Dutch breakfast with hash and homemade Italian bread.It came quickly, the server was friendly, and the food was very good.I wo5come back if I were in the neighborhood.

This a real, down-home breakfast place right across from Union College on Knott st. Great friendly service, decent coffee, and tasty breakfasts at a good price. Has that local feel you wont wanna miss if youre from out of town, or after taking the kids to hockey practice. I housed the blueberry pancakes, with a side of crispy bacon, and my partner enjoyed a peppers and onions veggie omelette with homefries, with their signature homemade Italian bread toast. Didnt take her long to tap out... lol. Eyeballed the cook making Bacon egg and cheese sandwiches that ALOT of people order for takeout... GYSOT! (Git you some of that!) Make the trip, and pause for breakfast.

My Soldiers and I go here for breakfast almost every Friday. We call our order in and then go have a cup of coffee while they finish up. Peter Pause has the best breakfast sandwiches in the area and the rest of their menu is just as good! I take my family here for breakfast frequently too. By far my favorite spot in Schenectady.

If breakfast isnt your thing, they offer a slew of lunch items, from Pasta, Chicken & Eggplant Parmigiano, Soups, and Sandwiches. Went in today at 1:45 and was told that the I couldnt get any breakfast items and when my son ordered decaffeinated coffee we were told, Id have to make a whole pot. If your restaurant is open until 2 and you only serve breakfast and lunch, shouldnt you serve breakfast until 2? The grill had been shut down and cleaned by the time we got here. Doesnt closing at 2 mean you clean the grill at 2? if you want to close at 1:30, close at 1:30. What a disappointing waste of time.
