Asked for help on price of unmarked free weights. The lady associate 5 feet away was not interested and very rude, i planned to buy 4 pairs of plates 400 dollars worth, but she scanned 1 an returned to sit on floor an do her protein bottle display. I understand people have bad days but dont bring it to work, and if you didnt want to help call another associate.

I love going here now that my boys are getting older and have joined athletic. I would give it a 5 star but it does seem like every time we come in the shoes area is always a mess and boy do you have to look hard for stuff over there. Other then that area I do love coming here.

Went to buy a Kayak, one kayak had a price the rest, nothing. Tried finding help to figure out which one and to get them off the top shelf but none to help. Either they were off the clock and leaving or needed to clock in. They never came back to assist.

Looking for water shoes. Searched and searched. Finally found an associate, at the front of the store, who vaguely gestures with a wave of her hand, toward the whole store. On an aisle were the words she said, turned & walked away. Searched and searched more. Left. Terrible customer service. Footwear was the busiest department in the place & no associate to be found. People were making an absolute mess.

Definitely this Academy Store in Sherman is the best all around go to store. They have everything you need. Save a trip to Dallas and spend your money locally. What they might not have in stock you can order on their website . Very clean store and awesome team members that are very knowledgeable in their field.

Just moved here to Sherman and needed a chair to sit in at my desk temporarily until my furniture gets here. The moment I stepped into academy greetings started with a smile. Everyone that I encountered that worked in the store had a smile and would ask if I need assistance.Thanks academy for making this newcomer feel welcome!

I worked at academy for almost a year. Got fired a week ago due to attendance but yet I had doctors notes everytime. I had a co worker physically touch me and went to management about it and he said he was going to take care of it. We both sat down and watched on the camera of when it happened. Mitchell said it was under investigation and nothing happened. That was 3-4 months ago. Yet they let someone who worked there drink on the job and smelled like alcohol all the time. They dont explain to employees before hand that you have to have a certain percentage of credit cards otherwise you get wrote up. I left for a week for vacation and came back and 5 people quit due to how disrespectful the team leads and management are. I dont blame them.

Out of stock consistently on items I need. Kept on hold TWICE on the same call!Pull it together, Academy!

We love to buy our shoes here. My son is picky as am I but they always have what we want.

I can honestly say this academy was the absolute worst! The store was an absolute wreck the staff in the shoe department had no intention of wanting to help…. I climbed the company ladder and found the shoes I was looking for as well as other frustrated customers! Not to mention the front staff at checkout complained the whole time and took their sweet time doing so. There was several staff members just walking around looking as if they were working but in reality they ran and hid as soon as a customer came in sight. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE! If I could give negative stars I would!

Academy was as normal as usual with the exception of the cashier, I dont know if she was having that bad of a day or what but sure seemed like she was not enjoying life. Wanted to argue about prices on the tag versus what was posted at the point of sale and I didnt want to argue or make her date any worse. Hope she has a better day

It was packed in academy yesterday, and all I needed was a gift card. I was so scared I was going to have to wait forever in line just to get one. But management is clearly awesome there. They had more than enough employees at registers working hard to get everyone checked out in a timely manner. I was in and out within a few minutes. Keep up the great work!!

I love this Acadamey. They have a huge selection when it comes to their sporting good. The staff is friendly and alert to the guest need. They take action when needed and are always there to help. As I began to get into fishing their staff helped me pick out my rod (which I use to this day). They have a huge selections on baits and hooks and frequently have sales. I urge you to use the scanner as I have found some its that have been moved around from other shoppers and you can find sale items around the entire store. They have a huge selection on footwear and even care work shoes. Again they have frequent sale items and you can get a pair of water proof boots for under $15 at times.

Didnt have my size shoe in one pair I wanted, they did in another but it took 15 minutes to find them. Then, an employee showed up. Went to famous footwear afterward, should have gone there first.

Rather buy the same stuff online for half the price and not deal with people that work at the Academy in Sherman Texas. Half of them have attitudes and no knowledge of sporting goods. Had 3 out of 8 people smile and greet us. So no more Academy for me.....

People who work here are always helpful and nice. Extremely nice to have a place in the area that isn’t marking up ammo astronomically too.

We go here for everything outdoor related. Prices are always good, as they have frequent sales or markdowns. Employees are always willing to help you find that missing shoe box, and if they cant, they will offer to have it ordered and delivered for pickup.

Went back home stopped in and wouldnt ya know THEY HAVE AMMO!!!, I couldnt believe it blew me away they had 223 45 9mm you name it. Miss my home town even more lol

School shoe shopping for my 16 year son some shoes. Its hard as hell when u have to find a size 12 in mens for him now.

I love the store even tho they are a bit pricey and the staff followed us around everywhere. The store itself is great the staff and management need to not act like they are better than the customers. And that is not how I usually feel when I go here but for some reason today they really amped it up.

I usually dont have any problems....except for today. I was going to buy a few things....however i noticed most of the checkout lines were blocked off. Maybe a few registers open and a line that i didnt see an ending to. I left my stuff there and walked out. I think I will order on line instead.

Needed a pair of compression shorts. I found what I wanted on-line and ordered it for curbside pick up. Within a half an hour, they notified me that my order was ready for pick up. Drove to the store and received my merchandise within 10 minutes. Very fast and efficient this time.
