The doctor and manager at this location are absolutely great! I had a great and informative eye exam and the manager is incredibly friendly and provided wonderful customer service.However, the rest of the staff came off a bit apathetic and incompetent. I had my eye exam at the end of August and ordered my frames the same day. Since then my order has been delayed, reordered, cancelled (I didn’t even know about the cancellation until I checked online and I called the corporate office since no one at this location was answering the phones). I finally went in to get a refund, waited a long time since they were severely understaffed (and really trying their best from what I can tell). I finally spoke with the manager who was so sweet and professional that I decided to reorder one more time even though I came in to get a refund. After a couple of weeks I got a text saying my frames were ready. I went in today to pick them up and they were the wrong frame. I left without them and I’m going to come back when the manager is there on Monday for a refund.I like Visionworks; my dad took me to get my first eye exam here when I was 15 and I’ve gone back often in the past 15 years. This is the first time I’ve had such a disappointing experience.This isn’t against the doctor and the manager. Both offered great customer service, were kind, informative, and professional. Even the lady I spoke with at the corporate office was so kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed by the rest of the staff at this location and the overall handling of my order has just simply been bad business.

The staff here are so rude. When I first started coming here in the Spring, the staff was professional and polite. This is no longer the case. The receptionists have cut me off and hung up on me. I realize that Vision Works has clearly declined in quality as a business so I’m trying to have my prescription faxed to another optician. The receptionist was giving me attitude and she said she would fax over my prescription but it’s been three days and the new optician still hasn’t received it. It takes a while to make a new pair of glasses so at this point, they’re inconveniencing me. 0/5.

Place is extremely slow and inefficient. We had an appointment at 1:20 and left at 2:20 while still waiting for the vision exam. The exam is done with a doctor virtually, so you would think they could knock them out faster. Look elsewhere if you don’t have a day to waste in an eyeglass store.

I had a great Eye Exam! I brought my OWN frames, two weeks into the job, Visionworks Lab, informed us the frames were LOST!!! Those were very High Price Optical frames, to have them LOST, Doesnt make sense....

When I needed new glasses, I came to Visionworks in downtown Silver Spring, because the people working there are so courteous and kind. A year earlier, they had replaced a missing screw in my old glasses frames for free, and I had not even bought those glasses or any other glasses at Visionworks before. This month I did order glasses from Visionworks. They helped me find attractive frames the right size. They spent all the time I needed helping and advising me; they did not rush me. Tkeyah was especially helpful, professional, friendly but not pushy. She even calculated various discounts to give me the least expensive price, so I could afford to get 2 pairs of glasses. My prescription glasses arrived a week early. Also, Visionworks created a safe place because of the current pandemic: They wear masks and provide a mask if a client does not have one. They take a clients temperature and provide hand sanitizer and clean tissues. They clean eye glasses frames after anyone tries them on.

It took me a while to get in touch with someone in the store, however once I did I was able to get what I needed to renew my drivers license on line so THANK YOU to whoever was answering the phones on Saturday, 2/20 who called me back when she said she would and to Dr. Terlesky for completing my online vision details when she said she would!

The doctor was thorough, but did little to interact with me as a patient (I dont even remember her introducing herself when bringing me back for the exam). She didnt look at me unless she was looking in my eyes -- very impersonal, at best. Exam-wise? No complaints. Patient experience? Underwhelming.At checkout, I was informed that I would be charged above and beyond the Annual Exam that my insurance covers. I asked why I wasnt informed prior to being billed the extra contact evaluation and was told Normally, we do. In my case, they didnt. The receptionist was wearing headphones throughout the encounter and did an unsatisfactory job of explaining why I was charged for the additional exam and managed to throw her co-worker under the bus while doing so (I normally tell people about it, but I didnt handle your intake, so...).If you need something diagnosed, then theyre worth seeing. Just dont expect them to take much interest in you besides being just another patient.

Everyone at vision works was very helpful! My visit was quick, efficient and very pleasant. The doctor was very knowledgeable and explained things so they were easy to understand. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The selection of glasses is tailored to a variety of tastes and budgets. You can look good with little money or spend big on name brands! If anyone asks me where to get glasses, I’m gonna tell them “Go To Visionworks!!!”

This was my first visit to the store and I was greeted very quickly by Cynthia H. I came for a pretty simple glasses readjustment that I had bought online, which had came in crooked. I wasnt in there for more than 10 minutes and Cynthia was able to adjust my glasses while being gentle and attentive. She saved me a lot of trouble from going to another store or buying a while nother pair of glasses. Cynthia, you and your staff rock girl! Keep up the hard work!

Super weird situation when calling store. Asked them to email me a copy of my prescription. They dont have the ability to email prescriptions, but they can fax them to you. I explained that wouldnt work for me: no access to fax and Im not able to come to a store as Im out of town in a city without a Visionworks nearby. They then hung up on me mid-conversation. Very odd all around. Who doesnt have access to email these days?

I showed up to this location with my glasses looking torn UP! I used some less productive tactics to clean my glasses (which I learned to correct during my visit!). I walked in the store that day ready to hear that I had to buy an entirely new pair of glasses only to be flooded with more appealing solutions from the delightful staff. They were really invested in making my experience exceptional and even helped me pick out some glasses to exchange my old ones with. I cannot wait to pick up the new lenses and visit again soon.

I wanted contacts for the first time and Im also new to the area. The team was very welcoming and accomadating. I was very nervous putting in contacts but the team stayed with me and guided me through until I got it!!! It took me quite a while but they were supportive and patient the entire time. So glad I chose visionworks of silver spring!!

Overall a very disappointing experience. The staff is friendly and nice but couldnt help guide me in choosing the frames. My lenses had to be re-done twice: once because they measured the distance between my eyes incorrectly and once because the lenses came back from the lab with a giant flaw in the glass (which no one noticed until I put them on). At that point, I was ready to just return the whole thing, which they wouldnt let me do. I wont be back. It was a waste of time and money.

Amanda (General Manager) was very welcoming and knowledgeable about my eye exam, if my insurance would work here, etc. Her staff Danny and Jessica helped me to pick out 2 frames that looked perfect along with the purchase of my contact lenses.If you are in the Greater DC area and looking to get top notch service when purchasing your eyewear you must come to VisionWorks in Silver Springs, MD.

I got my eyes examined here in January. They were awesome and I reccomended them to my wife. The staff is awesome. The selection of glasses is great for me. I came back to get lenses. The optometrist is really nice and great. I highly reccomended them. They also have Spanish speaking staff.

The wait time wasnt short since I was in at busy times, but the doctor was great and personable and all of the staff were friendly. The same clerk, Demi, happened to be there to help me when I initially went in, ordered my glasses, and picked up a week later; she remembered me each time and was so sweet. Ill be going back to this location for my next pair of glasses.

I waited thirty minutes and still had not been seen. Oh, but please believe they took my insurance information down! That was first. Why did you send me 50 million appointment reminders just to have me sitting for 30 minutes? How does this place have 4 stars? For glasses? I really cannot. Im truly disgusted. I asked the girl at the desk it they would shred my information and not charge me so we will see! Ill never go to another VisionWorks!

My mother came in today to purchase nose pads for her glasses. Being that english is not her first language she was very pleased to find a spanish speaking employee who not only replaced the nose pads for free but also helped her schedule a new eye exam for as early as tomorrow!

Very poor workmanship and customer service. I took in two pairs of glasses to have the lenses replaced. When I went to pick them up, one pair’s lenses were loose and wiggly in the frame, while the other pair had a visible gap between the lens and the frame. One of their staff asked if the lenses were falling out while I was wearing them, as though that is the measure of properly made eyewear?! They eventually replaced one pair of lenses, with some minimal improvement. They told me they would replace the lenses in the other pair, but simply kept them for a week and texted me to pick up them up, at which time it was clear that they had simply shifted the lens in the frame because now the gap was in a different place (another staff member couldn’t find that replacement order in the computer, which made it clear they hadn’t even intended to fix that pair). No hint of an apology. Sad to see the lack of pride in their product and their attitude. Go elsewhere!

Got my glasses from this visionworks and I have a number of complaints. The first time I picked up my finished glasses, turns out that they thought it was appropriate to just leave the old glass lens that the glasses already had instead of balancing the prescription for both eyes as stated on my file. That caused my eyes to look as if they were different sizes because one side had my prescription and the other had nothing.The lens that was not replaced was also scratched in places. When I went back to the store after my coworker told me something was off with my glasses, they told me they would get them fixed by monday. I had to return to the store 3 times because everytime I went, there was some excuse as to why they were not fixed. On the third visit, the person working that night tried to make some excuse about the lens cutting machine not working before saying okay, Ill see what I can do. Clearly I was interrupting her phone session by asking her to do her job.It took her about 30 mins to get the lenses ready. The lenses were poorly cut, the left lens wasnt put in properly, and I had to fix them myself at home. And to top it off, while trying to fix them myself, I noticed there were scratches and paint chipped off on the frame itself.I definitely do not recommend this place. The work ethic is ridiculously poor, and the quality of the product is subpar to say the least.Spare yourself the headache.

I went there to adjust my glasses’ leg since it was bothering back of my left ear so bad. The thing is that I didnt get this glasses from here so I wasnt sure if they are going to fix it or not but I decided to give it a shot. But, actually, when I got there they welcomed me, fixed the leg right away and gave some advices about how to take care of glasses and told me to come back if I have any problem with this glasses or question. Im impressed by their kindness and fast service. And even they fixed it for free. Im very sure that Im coming back here to get my next new pair of glasses. Thank you! :)

Paid a lot of money for higher end Acuvue Oasys contacts because my eyes are very sensitive. When my order came in, I ended up with 5 boxes of regular Acuvue lenses. They insisted they were the ones I paid for even though the boxes were clearly marked and did not have Oasys written anywhere on them. Now my eyes itch within 2 minutes of wearing these crappy contacts.
