Great place for what you are looking for........but unfortunately - The Employee Moral is in the toilet... meaning every time i go shopping there early in the morning or whenever.......All The employees seem so extremely miserable.,.....if they are not happy working there - they should work somewhere else...... they are not doing the general public any good by ruining our day with their lousy attitude

Im writing this review to warn others that this location sells expired food. I purchased groceries for my disabled mom in late December. My mom called me a few days later to tell me that the ham slices I purchased had a use by date for the beginning of November. I told her I would go back to the store and buy another pack. To my shock, the ham on the rack was still the November packs! I couldnt believe this. It is mid January! I went to the register and let the cashier know thinking she would get a manager. NOPE. She just rang my groceries up and said sorry she would tell the meat manager. Im not even sure she did. Im not coming back to this location.

I will never shop at smart and final again. I had one person ahead of me checking out and checker asked me to come to #1 aisle, so I did. I had to wait at least 10 to 15 minutes for checker to finish ringing up his customer. The checker seemed like he was in a fog and was so very slow and was coughing. During this about 6 people who were behind me in line were helped by other checkers... who finally came to open up there check stands. Worst service Id ever had at smart and final.

I love going to this smart & final. They had what i needed. Fresh fruits and veges. Store is very clean. Lines are fast. Staff is very nice. I normally go every week to shop. Reasonable prices on the meat. Really well stocked. Thank you.

Very good, my favorite store near by the neighborhood. Staff is super helpful and friendly. They are normally well stocked except for when Pandemic panic sets in. All the paper products like toilet paper and paper towels are picked clean. Nothing left on the shelves thanks to hoarders.

Two stars for their selection. 75% of the time the produce I need is bad. Its always freezing cold in there. Last night I encountered A HORRIBLY RUDE young cashier named Nikki who rang me up. She rudely told me to pay the second she finished bagging. So I got off the phone and politely told her that that was rude and in the RUDEST tone she said well you were distracted on your phone the entire time and I have a line behind you. Im sorry, this is not the pharmacy and there is no sign that says I am not allowed to use my phone. Its not necessary to dialogue with her when I am on the phone discussing covid cases at my daughters school. She had already pushed the button for the next customer to come so he was waiting at the belt and heard her talk to me like this and had a visible shocked reaction. I asked to speak to the manager and she rudely told me hes right there and pointed at him a couple of lanes away. I spoke to him and he apologized but Im just amazed that someone would ever behave that way.

I shopped here Saturday morning at like 9am with my two younger children. Thats early for me! So I wasnt dressed up (lookin like a little bit of a bum) LOL . I hadnt had my caffeine yet, so I wasnt totally with it yet. The employees kept asking me if I needed help finding anything I said no thank you. I dont know if they kept asking because they thought I was up to no good? LOL Or just genuinely being helpful? Long story short I lost me new ear phones I called left my number in case the were found... Mario(manager I bielive) called me shortly after and said someone turned them in right after I called. So thank you Mario and Smart and Final team. I like shopping there.

I was shopping here for almost 2 years until I had a bad experience. There are a handful of very nice employees at this location, however a couple of them are quite rude. I cant stand the chatty guy cashier who thinks hes witty, the dude who wears a bandana on his head, and the short manager. I was there one night and they were closing (which I wasnt aware of) and instead of politely letting me know they made a mockery of me. They could barely crack a smile at the register or open to door to let me out. I felt completely ridiculed. Then when I went back one day and I was passing mister chatty cashier he said loud enough for me to hear while passing the award for the person who doesnt pay attention goes to... now I cant say for certain it was towards me, but the timing was on point. That is no way to treat your customers.

I wanted to give these guys a higher score, but I recently bought some chicken that smelled like it was beyond it’s sell-by date of 8-July. I bought on the 4th and the meat was price-reduced for quick sale, but I figured it was OK since there’s another 4 days out. Well, either they were mislabelled or they got left out too long as the contents of both packages smelled strongly of rancid meat. My advice going forward is to either stay away from quick-sale discounted items or ask one of the meat department associates to re-package it so you can smell for yourself. I’ve never really had this problem here before, so I’m willing to give 3 stars instead of the 2 I would normally assign for an issue like that. Otherwise, it’s my go-to store and the people that work here are quite friendly.

I was unpleasantly surprised by the amount of empty spaces I found today. The store did not seem well stocked or that they were out of a lot of items. I ended up settling for many of their brand products because they did not have the name brand in stock. It also seemed like many of their prices had gone up as well. I specifically made the trip today because I have been very satisfied in the past. I dont know that they will be included in my new normal routine. There is no reason to put myself in another public area environment only not to be able to get what I need. My health situation puts me in a higher risk group. I usually only go out once a week and I feel this trip was a poor decision.

Usually I have a great experience at Smart & Final. But this last time was disappointing. The guy outside with the carts told me there was the spray bottle and paper towels and I could clean my own cart. I dont know what he was doing out there if he wants customers to do it themselves. Then when I got inside they were having electricity problems and I had to rush and only got half my shopping done before they told us we had to leave because they had to manually ring up our orders and was only using 2 cash registers they were very friendly and very apologetic about the electricity issue. I will definitely be going back again as I always do because like I said I do like their store and their employees and their prices

Always great staff, usually stocked, great prices. One stop shop. This one has a decent vegan section for fridge items and carries gardein and beyond burgers.

One of my favorite stores. Most people dont think of it as a regular grocery store but they are. Prices are good. Staff is helpful. Minimal crowds which makes for a nice shopping experience.

SoCal Edison provides free ice coupon during outage. Front side Smart and Final for free ice, and on back side three separate coupons for free ice at RiteAid. Dont use at Smart and Final first. They will take and keep your coupon, which then does not allow you to use the other THREE on the back for RiteAid. During ourage and Covid-19 pandenic emergency guidelines this is geart is heartless.

This chain is older than Costco and the prices are competitive compared to the supermarket chains and you do not need membership to buy at this stores.They offer produce as well as products for those who have restaurants and other type of businesses because they sell in bulk, it is ideal to go and shop there if you have a large family

We love this location. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We have a Costco membership, but when we dont need to buy things in bulk, we shop here. Its conveniently located, and the prices and selection are great. Its one of our favorite regular grocery stores in Simi.

My work shut down and I try to make some money with instacart. Came in here shop and need help for an item at aisle 92 base on instacart app said. The first guy I ask said we dont have aisle 92 you in the wrong store I know Im not in wrong place he just didnt want to help so I said ok Ill look around. And I ask the 2nd guy he try to help me so he went to ask for help from the first guy minute ago. When he saw me again he kind of annoying and said what are you looking for and I show him the item I looking for in my phone. He reply oh that should be over there, but you said youll look around. Yes I was doing my job for instacart but Im also a customer cuase I shop at your store so bad customer service.

Seems like less and less brands. They never have my yogurt. Masks down nose exposed.

Nice store but their customer service is absolutely terrible. They dont help when your looking for something, they just point and sayover there & when you are waiting in line and the cashier opens a new line and takes other shoppers looking for a line. Its rude and completely devoid of customer service. Five people went through the new line before we were checked through.They dont care about you at this store.

Different kind of grocery store than Im familiar with but it was neat, well stocked, friendly associates.

If you enjoy shopping alone, this place is for you. No crowds to fight. Usually just you and a few employees. And no wonder. Meats counters poorly stocked. Little seafood to speak of. No butcher. No deli. Supposedly they bake here but Ive never seen anyone from that department. I seldom enter. Only if they have something very special on sale. But usually prices are higher than other stores unless youre buying in great quantities. Otherwise its overpriced. This location was once an Albertsons and it drew a loyal following. Then it morphed into the infamous Hagens and it couldnt draw flies. Hagens fled the SoCal market within 6 months. I have a feeling that this Smart & Final will mimic Hagens fate and disappear from the scene if it doesnt get it together quickly. 2018 will probably be its swan song. Judging by the absence of shoppers, apparently few will care.

I like the store but when I call in their too busy or just dont want to help. Some girl name Angie answered the phone and was too busy to go look for something that I was searching for.On a side note, not having roasted chickens on a Friday night at 5 oclock is just ridiculous.

The manager was okay he should shut his mouth after I told him about a Hispanic panhandlers outside of the entrance building. I dont like his attitude. some of products were reasonable. some higher prices. I saw a Mexican female customer ate some grapes on the bag at produce aisle today. put sign not to eat them !
