VISIT THIS PLACE 10/10 WORTH ITMy boyfriend and I JUST moved to Sioux Falls last week. My boyfriends birthday is tomorrow, so we went to Nrdvana to check out whats going on, maybe buy him a cheap gift that he will love. Low and Behold they have a second building that you can pay to hang out in and play games! HOW COOL! The employees (maybe owners not sure) were so nice! The guy who helped us let us into the other building so we could get a little tour and understand what its all about. The prices are so reasonable and this was such a great way to celebrate with my boyfriend. He will be getting a monthly membership for his birthday. Thank you so much to the man who helped us. You made our experience memorable and we will 100% be back.

First thing to know is this place is a consignment store. If you are looking for new comics or supplies this may not be the spot for you. But if you are looking for Magic the Gathering singles, or odd and unusual items this is the place for you! Patrick, the owner, is very knowledgeable and is honest about his pricing structure both if you buy or sell. I brought in a bunch of MTG cards (all commons), he went through and pulled out ones that had more value when he couldve just bought in bulk and taken advantage. Thats the way to run a business! They also have a game room, 5 dollars a day (fair price considering he has to pay rent, utilities, etc), where you can play magic, D&D and board games. I havent been to play yet (stuck my head in), but they seemed open to new players of all levels. Oh and if you are looking for something special ask, Patrick may know someone who has it! Worth a visit!

I am not must of a card game player, however going to Nrdvanna has made me want to get into it. It was really inviting. Each time I went in I was greeted nicely, I also like the marketing based prices.

The place is what Id call a catch all nerd shop. They have a bit of everything. There comic section could use more selection but its got figures by the dozen. The salesman is very particular on the signage and that you follow it so be prepared for that.

Patrick is a amazing soul! He definitely knows hes items and super kind. As a pokémon collector I plan to buy and sell my items here. Keep up the good work!

Update: I continue to recommend Nrdvana. Patrick has found a couple of my unusual requests (items I never thought hed find) and he continues to get my stuff sold. No matter if you are buying or selling or just looking to play a game, this is the place to go!

After going in a few times, i decided to participate in my first pre-release tournament for MTG midnight hunt. I let Pat know i had never gotten to do something like this so I needed a fast rundown on how everything would go. After giving me the rundown, he and the other people there playing helped answer any questions I had. As the only female player there and not having played MTG in YEARS it was a great experience, no one made me uncomfortable nor did i ever question my safety. I will be a returning costumer for sure! Every interaction i have had at Nrdvana has been wonderful. If you are looking for a game shop to play at, consider bringing your business to Nrdvana.

They had a large variety of items, but nothing I looked at had prices on it. Thats a major downside to me. If I have to ask, Im probably not going to buy it. Will give an extra star for providing a gathering spot to play for people of all ages.

My son and I stopped by this shop on our way home tonight because the sign said they had Pokemon cards and we were not disappointed. Very unique store and the owner was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Great prices and lots of wonderful things in the store. We will definitely be back!

Customer service is poor. My boyfriend and I walked in wanting to sell Pokémon cards and was never even asked if we needed help with something. The woman at the counter was talking to someone about non work related things. We waited up there for 5 minutes at least with no one acknowledging mine and my boyfriends presence at all. We are reasonable and understanding people and just wanted to see what our cards were worth. We were impressed by your place until that happened. We left after the employee and other person had no intentions of acknowledging us at all. We wanted to support a small business and were ignored the entire time.

I was impressed with the selection of the inventory of collectable stuff nerd stuff they have. My biggest complaint and why your getting a 1 star is because of you dont list prices on your used products, it took pat 10-15 minutes to give me prices alone on the items I had chosen. The prices were high compared to other products that were listed online

Super awesome Hangout for geeks of all walks of life. Part Local Gaming Store, part consignment shop. If you are looking to play tabletop or video games they have you covered or if you are looking to sell something nerd related (I saw game reference books, Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, anime/ manga, gaming dice, etc) they have you covered still. Prices are to market so buyers and sellers get the best price.Owner is extremely friendly and easy to talk to and does a good job fostering an inviting and safe gaming space! And my buddy and I were able to sit down and play a pickup game of MtG.Would highly recommend, and do plan to return again!

Not to bad of a place. Pat is nice and has alot of knowledge on what he sells. As far as price goes it is on the high end of things or overpriced but overall the people I met where welcoming and answered my questions if I had any.

Really fun store with trading cards, comics, and video games and DVDs. The staff is very up-front about the store’s policies and pricing. I see other reviews complaining that nothing is price-marked but this is not an unusual practice! I have shopped at stores in Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois that also price their inventory based on recent sales from ebay, TCGplayer, Pricecharting, etc.The value of collectibles like cards and games is always changing, so I think it’s fair for a local business to charge what they know an item is worth. Also, it’s fun to find out how much something is going for. I say you should pop into Nrdvana, look around, buy something, and have fun!

If you’re looking for reasonably priced items, don’t go here. I went here because I wanted to look around and support a local business, regretfully I didn’t have a good experience. Pat was a very nice person, but he was way too talkative. He wouldn’t let me browse the store without constantly needing to say something. Now if I wanted to talk with him that wouldn’t have been a different story, but I just wanted to look without constantly being asked about myself. I found a couple things that I thought were cool and I brought them up to the register, but there aren’t actual prices on the items. He goes onto eBay and bases how much the item costs off of that. I found that a little different, but I was willing to go with it. I then found a couple more things that I brought up to the counter but they were so overpriced that I wouldn’t buy them. I decided I was fine with the couple items that I’d found previously, and was ready to pay. But instead of the prices he originally told me, he had raised the price a couple of dollars. At this point I just wanted to go so I spent the money and left. A quick internet search once I got home proved my suspicion that things were overpriced. I found the things that I had bought for much cheaper elsewhere. I really wanted to like this place, but I just can’t recommend it to others.

Went to get some dice for Dungeons and Dragons. I had to base a set of dice off of one pack I saw. Otherwise there was no price on them. I ended up paying $24 for dice that I could have gone online for and paid $13. Thats an $11 difference. Dont fall for the same thing I did.

Good store for fellow nerds. Its a consignment store but it is well organized.

Pat (the owner) is a super friendly guy and a big nerd. His store operates a little differently than most, and it takes some getting used to. I brought in a collectors edition strategy guide to sell to him, but he didnt actually buy it. How it works is that he gives you space in his store to display your nerdy goods and when people come in looking to buy, he gets a fair price from the internet and prices it right there at the register at the time of sale. I was able to sell my strategy guide to someone else who appreciated it, I got some cash, and Pat got his cut for doing all the work for me. Theres lots of vintage nerd stuff there as well as hand made pieces from local artists. Very cool concept. Very nice staff.

It is an awsome place to go shop or just play games. People are awsome. Even an art gallery to check out and purchase.

I had a nice conversation with Pat while I was there he explained the place perfectly. Knew he had passion for his craft. Even bought something he was reluctant to sell. I come to town once a year and definitely will look Nrdvana up when I come back.

Patrick is an awesome person really knows his stuff helped me out with starting magic the gathering helped me build my first deck also. He engages with his customers when they first walk in and always makes sure to greet you with a friendly smile.

Very friendly staff, unique concept. On my visit I was looking for board games and didnt find what I was looking for but they have plenty of other geek culture books, toys, custom items, cards etc.

Recently visited Nrdvana for the first time looking for Pokemon Booster Packs for my sons upcoming birthday. Not knowing anything about Pokemon, Patrick was helpful in explaining the different options I have to start my son in Pokemon along with letting me know the new Booster Packs were being released in 2 days and to stop back on Friday along with potential future opportunities for my son to learn the game of Pokemon. After browsing the store a bit, they had nostalgia items that brought me back to my days of video games (Atari 2600, NES games...etc). Definately a little something for everyone. Stopped back on Friday, Patrick remembered who I was and I was able to get the booster packs.

Pat runs a business on products that people needs help on selling wich is called consignments. Its where you have items in your possession that just sits there and you decide to try to sell or trouble selling he will go and do what he can to help the person out and its not just consultants that he works with its his community as well. Pat loves to give back and that can only tells you one thing that he has a big heart and cares on what he does in his own actions he takes. Thank you Pat for being you and what you do...

My son wanted to sell his Pokemon cards and we were pleasantly surprised about a few high value cards. My son looked up values online and felt like he got a very fair price.

This place is a truly unique, one-of-a-kind (family friendly!) business. The staff is amazing and helpful and the selection is very wide and diverse. Being that consignment is a huge part of the store, it allows for a much safer environment in selling items you no longer need - and a safe place to buy new things you want. He even will typically have Pokémon cards in stock, which is a rarity these days as they seem to be scarce no matter where you go. (Thanks for making my youngest sons birthday one to remember this year. We had been looking for Pokémon cards all day and couldn’t find any until we came to your store!)

Lots of great items for the nerd in all of us! Really enjoyed opening the homemade Pokemon booster packs with the owner - some amazing cards just waiting to be found in there. Will be returning soon.

The staff was friendly, inviting, and knowledgeable about the products they carry. There was a wide variety of products, from pop culture items to toys and video games. I would definitely recommend giving them a look to anyone who hasnt stopped in yet.

My kids are getting into card collexting and playing pokemon so we stopped in to see what they had. My younger two picked up a couple of the repacks they carry and my oldest got a box of magic cards. The box topper was worth a good price and they let us know exactly what we were holding onto, which was great for someone new to the hobby. We ended up coming back sunday so the kids could play pokemon with others. We will be back again soon.

The employee I got when there very nosy and you dont look on Ebay ridiculous and he aimed a toy gun at me so never coming again wanted every funko pop but he has to use Ebay worst mini store ever

I have been here multiple times, and each time I find something new and exciting to look at. The staff is always nice and honest with me. Given that its a consignment shop, none of the prices are listed on the item because they go based on market value at the time of buying. They tell you what sites they are using, such as ebay, or amazon, to price match so you can look at the prices yourself as well. Its a great place to check out because youll never know what cool things youll find.

This place is so cool, theres something for everyone from vintage/old school nerd stuff to modern anime stuff. Staff was super chill and fun to talk to and being in the store felt like being in the dealers hall of a convention. Absolutely a great place to check if youre in need of a gift for a nerdy loved one or a treat for yourself. Great selection of pop funkos too for any collector looking for them.

Place was dirty and smelled horrible. Very unprofessional. A huge dog was just roaming around. Prices are sky high even though I have seen the employees out buying the product for retail prices at Walmart. So, they are basically buying at retail so we can’t get product and have to buy it from there. Went in to buy an ETB. The girl told me a price and when I went to checkout the other girl said it is $20 higher than the first girl told me. What a joke!

Went in completely not knowing anything about the shop. Very cool atmosphere, a place to chill and sell my nerdy stuff and change it out with other peoples nerdy stuff. Would totally reccomend.

Coolest LGS in Sioux Falls

I don’t like the way this place operates. The prices aren’t set in stone. They’re priced based on a quick eBay search and that has already led to issues. A close friend of mine went in with me and got an inaccurate pricing, which was then raised after corrected. The price given initially was nearly $20 less than the price we had to buy it for. When we got the product, a DS game, it was in bad quality and needed to be cleaned off to play. The system here is messy and the service is a little annoying. There was a kind woman employee that helped us. The guy that runs the store was trying to sell us things, almost annoyingly so. I got a bad vibe from the place as a whole and probably won’t support or visit soon.

This is a must-go-to place for all people nerdy! Theres all sorts of things: board games, retro video games, figures, funkos, plush, bags, cards, you name it!! You can consign things and they have some great deals for in store credit too. The guy there was incredibly friendly and helpful. Definitely going to be a place we go to everytime we go to Sioux Falls.

I came into the shop, nice place and nice atmosphere. However, the service and products were faulty. The employees were nice and I was offered a price of a game I wanted to buy. He changed the price of the game to $20 higher than what he originally said, though it was a simple mistake it made me a little standoffish. I bought the game anyways, and went home to try to play it only to find out the DS cartridge didn’t work. I blew air into the cartridge and DS in case it was just dusty. I come to find there was gunk on the back of the cartridge that I had to carefully scrape off. Overall not the best experience.
