Went to a piano store to buy pianos. Got no service. Bought a nice Steinway from a dinky music store in the cities. Hello???
I have been in Sioux Falls for 9 weeks for a work project and happened to venture in to Westmoor Music. I was greeted by Art, and he asked me what brought me in to the store. He sat with me as I explained that I had previously owned a CVP 75 and that I was interested in learning about the new Yamaha Clavinova CVPs.Art really took the time to tell me about the various models. I said I thought the Yamaha CVP 701might work for me. He spent 1/2 hour demonstrating the many unique capabilities of this awesome instrument after which he let me try it out while he tended to a customer.I really appreciated the time he spent answering my questions after playing it forca while. After several weeks of return visits for me to further test drive the unit, he gave me a call to see where I was in my purchasing decision. We talked for about 15 minutes, and I really appreciated his no-pressure approach.his transparency and honesty about working out a deal with me, as it had been a slow month because of area flooding and the tornados that hit us.Well, I managed to stop in over my lunch hour today, and Art took another 30 minutes to demo more on the CVP 701.We settled on a deal, and I am now the owner of a new Clavinova CVP 701.If you are in the market for a Clavinova instrument, I highly recommend stopping in the store and talking with Art. He will really take the time to show you what they have and answer all the questions you can throw at him!!
Not a place to go to if you want friendliness and good customer service. Was an okay-looking store with nice Yamaha uprights and grand pianos on display. All pianos had a sign on them asking to please ask for assistance before playing them. A worker at the store saw me looking at one of bigger grands, and we chatted about how nice the piano was. When asked if he minded me playing the piano for a minute, I was met with a cold Yes. Absolutely. You cant play it at all. Sorry. Now, this usually wouldnt have put me off too much. It was his store, and he made the rules about the pianos. What he said after the initial rejection put me over the edge. Show me $40,000 and you can play it. Rude. Just rude. Be careful if you decide to walk into this shop, because the abrasive atmosphere will feel like a piece of 80-grit sandpaper rubbing against your skin.
Called last Sunday for a piano and still haven’t gotten it. The man said he would drive it to out house on the day after. Still waiting for it.
Severely disappointed in how we were treated at this Empire Mall music store. The owner/manager treated us at an unprofessional level from the moment we entered the store. We went to the grand piano featured at the entrance of the store, searched for the “please do not play” sign, nothing. After 3 notes played, this store manager jumped out of his chair and shouted at us to not touch the piano. (It’s a $20,000 piano, I understand he doesn’t want everyone mashing keys and treating it with disrespect, but we were far from being disrespectful.) We apologized, for whatever reason, and went back to the $2k pianos. My mother, went to look at the keyboard on display and my other little brother looked at the electric organ toward the back. We were again scolded for touching the merchandise. (Just so you know, DO NOT touch the iPad displayed on the keyboard’s sheet music rest. Though it’s there on display and lacking a ‘Do not touch’ sign, you are not to touch it.) He became very frustrated with us even being there so we decided to leave immediately. If you can get anything out of this review, it’s to avoid an experience at this music store. Treating your customers as burdens is not how you sell a piano. Especially for the fact that I can order a piano from my phone and have it shipped to my door for less the cost without dealing with a irreverent store manager. Two thumbs WAY down.
What a waste of retail space.I went in when there were no customers, which is which is not rare, but the old fart behind the desk didnt look up from his phone.I asked him if I could ask a few questions about upright and grand pianos. He replied what are you talking about? I asked him about how the structure of the harp was different in both kinds, and how their uprights sound boards were built, to which he responded, seriously, I dont have time for this. and went back to his phone.I asked if I could play a few notes on a grand because I never have before. Without looking up he shook his head no.On my way out i noticed a sign on the grand pianos read wed love to show our pianos! yeah right! What a joke! Why dont you move out and give that giant empty show room to someone who actually wants customers who frequent a mall. You absolute jerk.Want proof? I uploaded a picture, want more proof? Go there and try it yourself.
Walked in looking for valve oil for brass instrument since we are not from the area and the sales person didnt acknowledge we were even in the store. And while I waited for him to get off the phone to ask if he knew where we could find it he proceedes with his conversation on the phone. If I could give negative stars you can bet that this would be my first go at it
Great shop! Friendly personell and a wide variety of good instruments!
