Weve walked by this place a few times already but they have been closed. Finally stopped in today and witnessed an impressive array of Italian food (with some from other countries like Argentina). We got to sample the sun-dried tomatoes (best Ive ever had), and the person at the country talked with us and shared a grid / menu of the pasta and sauce combinations they offer.Really great products and very friendly store. We are already planning on stopping by again to grab some stuff for the beach this weekend, as well as some future dinners we have in mind utilizing their pasta.Give this shop a go next time you are around; Id even venture to say its work going out of your way!

Being an Italian-American and Michigander, Ive been surprised at how hard it is to find Italian markets here in Cambridge/Boston. Came to this store to buy ricotta for a pasta dish I was making (your non-italian supermarkets will put this sandy substance on the shelf Im shocked is called ricotta). However, I was equally shocked to see how expensive the ricotta here was. In Michigan, I pay $3.50 per pound for ricotta that you can get literally pulled out of the pot, cut and placed for you. Here, I paid $4 for maybe 1/3 of a pound (no measurements provided) of ricotta that was already prepackaged. Luckily, the ricotta was good, but Im going to make my own ricotta from now on -- its super easy and you just need a $4 cheese cloth. Missing my reasonable Italian markets in Michigan :(

Better than anything Ive had at the North End. My go-to for pasta sauces and dinner entrees. Most recently their mac n cheese blew my mind. This is expertly crafted food.2021 - I just sampled their empanadas, wow. I have been to Patagonia, land of endless empanadas and what I had does not compare to how good these are!

Really going to miss this place when I move. Honestly one of the best specialty shops in Somerville. Stayed open during the lock in and made easy safe pick ups customer. Thank you guys, you have provided some great snacks over the years, which were a big part of great evenings with friends.

For many years, as my daughter and son grew up, we could count on the filled pasta and sauces, the individual pizzes, and so many other Italian products at Capone’s.

Local gem! This is the place for getting an assortment of fresh pasta, sauces, cheese, olives or anything else Italian. And you must try the empanadas!!! Ask Al if you need a pasta and sauce pairing recommendation and hell explain their tried and true flavor chart.

Capone foods is a game changer for me and I really do mean it. The frozen food (especially the pizza) is better than most restaurant and you can have it in the comfort of your home and feel good that your not eating junk. Theres many exciting food choices like the home made pasta, which is absolutely amazing. I go at least once a month to stock up my freezer.

An amazing Italian market, where the staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to help you out. They make their own pastas, sauces, mozzarella and ricotta which is outta this world! They also have an assortment of olive oils, balsamic vinaigrettes, Italian cookies, and many other Italian staples. Go check it out, you wont be disappointed!

Capone Foods is a fun stop for fresh pasta (made in the back of the store), and a wide selection of Italian specialty products. I personally enjoy the empanadas (even if Im a bit confused why they sell these traditional South American treats), and the giant Pasta Guide behind the counter is helpful in matching pasta type to sauce (and amount needed for a particular serving). The prices are reasonable (not much of a deal, but fair), and the fresh mozzarella made daily is delicious. Feeling like a baller? They have a few bottles of $1200 (yes, Twelve HUNDRED dollar) balsamic vinegar. If you go for it, let me know how good it is.

When I was a student at Berklee College in Boston often went with my classmates at Capones because the food is good especially for the typical dishes of the Italian tradition, the pizza is good but as an Italian I prefer our ... environments and rooms are very nice and the program of the evenings of live music always full of interesting sound and rhythm groove ... really nice!

Excellent quality imported goods, homemade burrata was outstanding, and very helpful staff when picking out a good quality (hey Ina!) balsamic vinegar. A must if you appreciate Italian foods. My one gripe is why no ricotta cannoli?! They make their own ricotta cheese but the only filling for the cannoli is vanilla. Missed opportunity!

Best cannoli in the Boston area-- possibly the best in the country. Ive never found better. The cannoli are filled to order, and the quality of the filling blows everyone else out of the water... Im including the famous Mikes Pastry in that group. The rest of the store looks great, lots of high quality food offerings, but this review is strictly about the cannoli. Not to be missed.
