Great spot to stop to refuel riding around the lake. Nice staff, clean, and everything was as expected. Outdoor eating area is without parallel. Stop in, youll be glad you did.

Excellent stop after hiking in Emerald Bay. Cozy atmosphere, got the tiger chai which was awesome. Highly recommend stopping here for your coffee fix!

Lovely as usual - delicious assortment of teas and coffees, nice snacks. For now, real food only in the morning - kitchen closes at noon. Pleasant places to sit, indoors and out; interesting stuff for sale such as quilts, mugs, and t-shirts. Good prices, too.

Stopped in here to get coffee. Good quality coffee, which I dont say often. Also tried the banana bread which was quite good! Very cozy atmosphere to relax inside. Definitely worth a visit.

First visit here. The young lady helped my wife to choose the right coffee drink. She ended up making her a drink with cold brew coffee, English toffee syrup and creamer on ice. My wife liked how strong the coffee was. My son had a non coffee drink, Coconut Cream.

Fantastic coffee shop with cozy decor and wonderful friendly staff. I ordered the cold brew coffee which was so smooth and dark. In addition, we got the alpine mc muffin and b b burrito which were so delicious and huge! What a good place. Would definitely come again!

Great spot to pick up a light breakfast and a good cup of coffee. Its a charming location, which can get a bit busy during peak seasons and weekends, but stop in on a weekday or during the off-season and its a treat to hangout at. Staff are always friendly and effect. Its a classic go to anytime Im in the area.

Very average. The cappuccino had the solid bath foam at the top, which I do not like. The old fashioned oatmeal was just cup with dry oatmeal which was handed to me. Customer needs to figure out where is the hot water and pour it in. The cafe is otherwise nice inside, but cannot recommend coffee or the food there.

The coffee cake is amazing. It’s super moist and full of cinnamon, like a lighter version of a cinnamon roll. The staff was super friendly and coffee is good. Lots of other pastries and snacks that look delicious as well.

The coffee and pastries were tasty. However, the quiche was not cooked all the way through AND our fried chicken was raw and cold in the center. We showed the cashier the raw chicken and she refunded us for that, no questions asked, which is nice. However, I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years and I just think that is extremely concerning that raw, cold fried chicken was even served in the first place. Especially when it was not a busy day. That’s a huge mistake on the kitchens part and pretty alarming.

We were here yesterday and came back again today 😄. We had their breakfast sandwiches, bagels, quiches and the lunch caprese sandwich. All generous sizes, so delicious, warm & comforting. They have many other options like pastries and cakes too. The Tiger Chai was a favorite for me, coffee and other specialty drinks we tried were delicious too. My new favorite little gem when in town.

Nice little spot in South Lake for coffee and a bite. Yummy sandwiches and giant breakfast burritos. They have several tables inside but its a cozy place. They serve traditional coffee drinks and some interesting variations on coffee drinks. The Tiger Chai is sooo good. The servers are friendly and it was a relaxing place to spend some time.

Delicious, cute, and cozy! Great prices too! Wonderful selection of baked treats and you can even get yourself a bowl of cereal for $0.50! A hidden gem for sure.

Service can be extremely slow due to the low number of people behind the counter. Came here for a friends coffee craving and we just stood for 10 minutes before actually getting the order done. Seems like a cozy spot for local dwellers. Just dont expect any hangout space for a semi-large group (3+) since each of the locals would take up all the tables.

Bad coffee and sad pastry

Good coffee, nice quiche, decent service. There is a bit of expectation that you know where things are. They have supplies in 3 places (utensils right of self service coffee bar almost hidden behind coffee beans - tops, stir sticks and napkins in side window - cream and sugar at far end of the building in front window) having never been there I didnt see the utensils and asked. Then when the cream and sugar wasnt with the stir sticks and tops in side window I asked where they were. I now understand their system, but the youre bothering me tone was unnecessary. At that point, I explained we were new resident and it was our 1st visit so she would know we were newbies and didnt mean to be a pain. Dont get me wrong, well be back as it was nice coffee and we try to always support the local and hopefully we wont need extra guidance.

This is an extraordinary coffee shop.Not only is the coffee fresh, but it is flavorful and nicely brewed. As for the ambiance, I give it 10 stars. The interior design deeply reflects the uniqueness of South Lake Tahoe and the people that come have coffee there. Instead of the big crowds you see pouring into commercial coffee franchises like Starbucks, the atmoshere is serene, and folksy. I felt I was visiting someones personal cottage. There is a quaint fireplace, adjacent to working tables, several lounge chairs, and work stations toward the rear of the store. My only concern is the baristas and store personnel were not over friendly. Also, the area near the utensils was not clean, nor was the bathroom. Nonetheless, I plan to become a regular customer because my overall experience was favorable.

Nice little coffee shop check the way of the main road and one of the most coziest coffee shops in South Lake Tahoe. We actually got the recommendation to go there from a local and that never regretted it. Their espresso and cappuccino are fantastic and the atmosphere is great and the staff is super friendly.

The best coffee youll find around the lake for sure! Not overly roasted to make the inside smell better like most big chain coffee shops. They have a wide variety of consciously obtained coffees, great tea choices, and delicious food. Customer service is also top notch! Thanks Alpina for being you and not conforming to sub par standards that so many coffee places do.

Our first time in. Baristas were having a fun, eventful conversation in the back but barely made eye contact with us at the resister. I handed her my card and she monologued about putting it in the chip reader, which I hadnt noticed on the cluttered counter. Once the first woman took our order, another came up and stared a hole into my head for a solid 10 seconds until I let her know we had already been helped. She just said, Oh, then walked away. We didnt realize if you just got a drip coffee, you were allowed to grab your own cup, fill it from the carafe, then walk to the complete other side of the shop for cream and sugar. Peeling signs taped to tables, large spots of dust and crumbs creeping out from corners. Its a cool layout with funky art; maybe we came in on an off day, but I dont feel super compelled to come back and explore their menu.

3.26 for a 17oz bottle of water.

We found this little café by accident. We were headed back from Tahoe and realized we needed coffee. We also didnt realize we were seconds away from a large intersection. So, we stopped. We found the staff friendly and helpful. They have a lot of choices for food and smoothies. They made sure to let me know that my food might take a while so I was able to change my order so the wait wouldnt be as long. Im definitely going to be back.

This is a hang out coffee shop just funky and casual. Lots of menu items for mid day eating. Coffee was good tasting like freshly roasted beans! Great!

My favorite coffee place in SLT. Sweet staff and delicious food here. Best iced white mocha ever! The california grilled cheese club was exceptional. It did cost $14 and it can feed two people.

Drive 80+ miles to find a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Very good coffee and great place to stop and relax. Definitely will be back!

Great service but questionable cakes. My chocolate fudge brownie was solid, my daughters blueberry muffin was greasy and also solid and my husbands banana loaf wasnt great. The coffee wasnt fresh but the hot chocolates were nice. We asked for my daughters to be cooler in temperature and the guy behind the counter did a great job. He even offered to add ice if it was still to hot. Maybe change the cakes supplier? Otherwise a nice setting with indoor and outdoor seating.

Coffee is amazing! Get the cold brew, or if you want to indulge, I suggest one of their mocha shakes. Ground coffee added to the shake is the best! Oh, and coffee ice cubes for any cold coffee drink, is a must! Breakfast croissant sandwich is so good, and my favorite is their spinach bacon turkey quiche. All the quiche are pretty good, but that one, OMG! Its a smaller place, so sometimes it crowded and takes a while for food/drink, but dont let that discourage you.

What did I love about Alpina Cafe? How about the lattes, the early opening time, and the food? Oh, and how about the friendly staff too! Unique and comfortable interior round out the reasons why I would definitely come here again when vacationing in Lake Tahoe.

Amazing café. Wonderful food. Its very cute cozy and quaint with a great outdoor seating area. Much much better than Starbucks. The atmosphere is amazing. Honestly I could go on and on. Definitely stop by for a cup of coffee if in the Tahoe area.

Great slow food establishment. Good atmosphere and great coffee, but it takes them over 45 minutes to make a breakfast, whilst 4 out of 5 members of staff are busy with chit chat. Last but not least, weve got something else than weve ordered. I would also treat stated ingredients with a pinch of salt, as what ended up on our plates was completely unrelated to what weve ordered.

I have been to Alpina Cafe several times this summer and have enjoyed sitting outside while eating their baked goods and sipping hot tea.Im looking forward to going there this winter and having their home made soups and sitting inside the cozy cafe .

Lattes were good, but the gal that took my order forgot about me, and even after a gentle reminder, it still took another 10-15 minutes to pass out my breakfast item (it was a premade breakfast croissant and just needed to be tossed in the microwave) and it was still cold in the center. All in all, it took over half an hour to get a half-warm premade croissant sandwich.

Fun friendly coffee shop with quality products. Ample seating indoor and outdoor as well as some computers for customer use. Came here twice on my vacation because I loved it so much!
