Id give 4.5 if possible! Coffee was rather strong but if you like a dark roast than its perfect. Lovely cozy and eccentric atmosphere, perfect menu and reasonable prices for breakfast. Nice baristas are a plus! Its a must-stop ☕

It was a great breakfast experience in Tahoe. Event though it was busy, service was pretty fast compare to other cafes we visited. Well organized service and great food! Well definitely go back again when we visit Tahoe in the future. 👍

This is my favorite coffee shop in town; everyone is so sweet, and the coffee and food is amazing. I come every chance I get, and everyone always seems to boost my serotonin levels. I have never had a bad experience here, and Im always genuinely excited to go when I do. As a long time local, I recommend Black Cabin to anyone who will listen to me. :) Do yourself a favor and go to Black Cabin!

Loved this place! Came for lunch after a hike and it really hit the spot! Its a little pricy, but I was happy with the food and coffee.I got a Primo sandwich and shakerato coffee. The sandwich was a little small, but it was pretty filling.The location is pretty nice. They have outdoor seating and adequate parking along the street behind the restaurant.

The apple sage breakfast burrito was everything you could want in a vegan breakfast option! Delicious and filling. Coffee was alright, might’ve been personal taste preference, both seemed watery. Amazing breakfast.

Literally some of the best coffee of my life 😍 Shaker with Oat Milk, (iced espresso). Swoon, it was delightful, frothy, just the right balance of sweet and bitter mixed with the flavor of the freshly roasted beans. Yummm...

Our group loved the SAM, lavender honey latte, avocado toast, & mocha as well. They have outdoor seating - 3 tables with heaters around them; and 1 larger table with a fireplace at the center.

My favorite breakfast in South Lake Tahoe! Had a great burrito, delicious smoothie, and eating in the courtyard was very peaceful. They had some chill Lo-Fi music on, which is always cool with me. Get there early and enjoy the zen.

Coming from a Portlandian coffee snob Black Cabin has the best coffee in S̶o̶u̶t̶h̶ ̶L̶a̶k̶e̶ the Tahoe region no question. Ordered the Hazy cortado and even got laté art despite being in a to-go cup! Great atmosphere with a lot of classy yet humorous decor. Their esspresso roast is fairly dark and well pulled on equipment they rebuilt in house. The cold brew was also very nice, brewed using a light and fruity Ethiopian roast. They are even working on a Swiss-process for those that dont want caffeine but want their decaf to taste like coffee and not burnt beans (update: its excellent).Food is great, Ive had the Cristo, Sam, Super rito, green goddess power bowl, and the affogato that Im currently fawning over.Go try it.

If you are looking for a great morning caffeine fix, this place will definitely satisfy. Great coffee, friendly staff and good options. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Pistachio Matcha (which she had each morning we were staying in South Lake). I did order a Spinach and Feta breakfast burrito and felt that they put way too much spinach in it for my liking. Several bites were simply spinach and tortilla. That being said, I did not go here for breakfast. The coffee was consistently great and you could tell they took pride in producing it.

Unique lattes and delicious breakfast/brunch menu! Today I tried their elderflower honey latte, which is to die for, and the other day had their bergamot oat latte--equally delicious! Both the CHIP and the SAM breakfast sandwiches on their menu are great: one with bacon and caramelized onion, the other with a green pepper and sausage: couldnt tell you which I like better: theyre both great :)

Very cute place. I ordered a strawberry banana smoothie, a ice white chocolate mocha and English muffin sandwich. I was disappointed with the service. My friends waited almost 30 mins for their drinks and when we went to ask where it was at, it was just sitting there in a bag. My drinks came out fast. But my sandwich took 30 mins as well. My smoothie was awesome. But my white mocha was horrible. I couldn’t even tell that there was white chocolate in it. I could also taste that my shots were burnt. I watched the barista make her shots, every single one she started, walked away and then came back to a burnt shot and then proceeded to put it in the drinks! I am from Seattle and a barista so I know what espresso shots are supposed to come out like. And the shots were not good. The place seems to do good with business but I would suggest to adjust the shots. The sandwich was great, super yummy. But golly, if I could’ve, I would’ve refunded my white mocha. The service could’ve been better, I don’t know if it was because they were busy or because they have a inside and outdoor service.I only gave it 3 starts because my smoothie and sandwich was super yummy.

Great service, cleanest kitchen I’ve ever seen. The breakfast sandwiches and muffins were excellent!! Loved that there are more bike parking spots than car spots. I highly recommend this place.

Allow me to start this review by informing you, dear reader, that I am not a coffee person.But this place makes me wish I was. Ugh.I came in today and the employees running the shop were nothing but fantastic to us. They always have special drinks going on aside from your typical coffee shop fare. I appreciate that very much as it gives me a lot more options.Today I tried the pumpkin chai but asked for apple/caramel syrup added and let me tell youuuuuu....It was HEAVEN. Plus oat milk (literally bye af almond milk, see you never) ugh x infinity.I love that they have vegan food items! I ordered the soyrizo burrito and man it was delicious. Im gonna be dreaming of it a lot.Its always busy but service is always attentive. One all gender restroom available which is super clean. No coat rack tho so I hope they add one!This place is pretty great. I wish I didnt live almost 4 hours away from it :(

Excellent coffee. Love the butter rum latte. They have flavors that Starbucks didnt have. The line can get long and expect to way 10-15 mins but its worth the wait.

If you want a proper coffee drink in south lake Tahoe this is the only place to go, and Ive looked around. Super cozy indoor with a nice fire and easy outdoor seating. Im more an espresso guy but have tasted a number of their custom drinks and they are all tasty, the have a chili spiced mocha that is really good. Their food menu hasnt disappointed me either. Good coffee, good food, and good people.

Very cute cabinistic coffee joint, especially when covered with snow. The interior is also cozy for its woodslice tables and fireplace. The staff was hip and happy. I enjoyed the nice hot oat milk latte for the normal subtlety of a latte. Overall, this is one of my 2 favorite coffee joints (Brew 95 in Winnemucca).😊❄🏂🎿☕🍙

Enjoyed a white mocha and Lavender Macha Latte (discovered only addition here was a honey lavender syrup to the regalar matcha after realizing the order was missing lavender flavor). A little pricey, but tastey. Cute patio out back under some trees. Parking a little tight, but you can park nearby and walk a little ways.

Great little coffee and breakfast place! I had a chai and a gluten free bagel with cream cheese - Im very picky about pastries and breads and it was as good as any wheat bagel! I was delighted. Nice outdoor seating area in the back to enjoy the morning sunshine.

Took approx 20 mins to get a matcha late and cappuccino. The matcha I thought was pretty good quality and had no bitterness. Would get again. The cappuccino with oat milk was 4/5. Honestly I just need something quicker on my way to the ski hill, but glad there was a better option than Starbucks.

Perfection in a white cup with a black stamp! You ever just get the perfect thing for your tastebuds? I just did! (Dirty Chai with white espresso and a vanilla cocoa sugar cube). Also the staff is adorable and friendly, the decoration is rad, and the whole cabin exudes a bit of that cute dark humor one would expect from a black - painted coffee shop. Oh and the walls of the bathroom are wallpapered in the pages from a dictionary. Awesome.

My fam and I stayed in S. Lake Tahoe for the week leading up to New Year and went to this cute coffee cabin EVERY DAY! Not only is their coffee exceptional, the food is so tasty too. During our stay we ordered the following, which are highly recommended! Coffee: Peanut brittle latte and Vanilla + Cardamom latte. Food: Herb breakfast sando, Sausage breakfast burrito and Lox bagel. If ever you find yourself in the area, don’t forget to hit up this spot, especially before you hit the slopes! 😉

I love this place so much. Born and Raised local and its hard for me to go anywhere else. Their white espresso is over the top, the staff is amazing, and the food thats prepared is delicious! I even got half my work addicted to their white chocolate mocha made with full white espresso (I reccommend everyone tries this drink!) If youre coming to tahoe, take the extra effort to come here. You wont regret it.

Quality is fine. Service is so bad I would never go back. Put in an order at 10:35 am for a small coffee and 2 sandwiches at 11:20 they had my sandwiches but had forgotten or gave away my coffee adding 5 more minutes of wait in the snow. While I wait other customers just got refunded rather then waste anymore time. Next I will just go anywhere else.

Very yummy and a strong hearty coffee flavor

I ordered a latte and it took quite some time and they messed up on the order - added dairy milk instead of oat. When I went back to ask if they could make another one, the girl at the order counter made someone else try my coffee to see if it was actually dairy (which they realized it was)! That weirded me out...there’s a pandemic happening and they’re just out here drinking stranger’s drinks, made me feel like they’re probably not taking precautions to be safe in their personal lives.

If you’re visiting make sure to stop by! Adorable coffee place, very sweet employees, and the coffee is absolutely amazing. If you feel a little adventurous try the Lavender Honey or Vanilla Cardamon Lattes, different than any other coffee shop and very delicious!!

Unique and delicious white espresso is like a cortado with super light flash roasted coffee and almond milk with some spices. Manual brew is a Chemex. Great vibe and great coffee.

Waited 30min and ended up with a refund instead of two coffees. Like 15 drinks came out for people who had clearly already left. Very disappointing.

The worst customer service. If you are a local rushing to work, in need for some coffee, don’t stop here! I explained the woman at the window I m running late to work and she still said it s impossible to serve me pre made coffee, it maybe takes 30sec to pour coffee to a cup(she told me to wait 10min for it, paranoia!)and I m pretty sure customers who ordered at the front of me wouldn’t get upset because the coffee was already made, and who cares anyway, it s just a good customer service. You guys are busy right now with tourists but you lost potential local, regular customer.

Product: The black coffee is alright at best. They don’t often do pour overs, so I’d recommend you avoid asking for one. When I first went there and ordered a pour over, it took ~15 minutes to make. The drip coffee is decent - and it just might be the best drip around Lake Tahoe.Atmosphere: Eclectic and unique. Black Cabin is filled with goofy items that come together to make a successfully quirky vibe.Conclusion: It’s the best full-sized coffee shop in the Lake Tahoe area. If you’re looking for some coffee, I’d recommend this place.

I love the place! But honestly i got a large Pistachio Rose Latte with Oat milk and an extra shot of espresso. I didnt taste a lick or even a hint of Pistachio or Rose, and even waited for quite awhile in line, and to get my coffee. Now I dont mind waiting for something special or good, but I was completely disappointed when I didnt taste those two flavors i was so looking forward to. I never heard od those two combinations in coffee and was thrilled of their creativity and innovation! The drink menu and food menu. Just what i was looking for! But I didnt taste even a hint of it Pistachio OR Rose! I didnt even have time to bring it back to let them, to let them know, cause it just took quite awhile to get my drink, plus we were heading back home on a 50min drive. This place was highly recommended, and the lady that took my order was so sweet. But for something that took so long and I believe those flavors might have been missed and not added in there at all. I assumed maybe i shouldnt have added the espresso but i should have smelled or tasted some of the Pistachio and Rose. So sad and bummed. I might try them again but reluctant because of my first experience there. ):
