Nothing like getting to make your own ice cream sandwich.You get to pick your cookie flavors and ice-cream. They even have a vegan option.We thoroughly enjoyed ours. It is in a weird corner off by itself, otherwise good location.Staff was friendly. Would have liked more outdoor seating.

Great little place to get a delicious snack. I had a cookie monster cookie combo with mint ice cream and m&ms. Super sweet. Customer service was good too. Seating both indoor and outdoor available. If I were to go again, I would just get one and split it with the wife. If you dont have a major sweet tooth, I suggest you do the same.

Stopped in for dessert and even at 45 minutes to close The Baked Bear was still busy. Not a long wait for the chosen frozen concoction to be brought to life. This evening: Chocolate Chip cookies served as the medium from Step 1 to hold the selected BlackBerry Crumble ice cream from Step 2. We chose to forego Step 3 for this evening, no toppings or hot presses (Step 4) on our ice cream sandwich this evening! 😁Overall it was an experience with doing while in South Lake Tahoe. Cookies are all made in-house and daily. And if the base of the chocolate chip cookie is used as the bar: there are expectations to be met by the other 19 different cookies and brownies on offer at this time. Currently, there are 13 different ice cream options available. Something to try and meet as many peoples tastes as possible!It is nice to see the variety of options available to meet different dietary needs.

They definitely did not skimp on the amount of ice cream they put in their sandwich. Flavor wise it was great! Only gripe was that it was a tad difficult to eat as an actual sandwich due to the ice cream being squeezed out the back after every bite

Satisfy your sweet tooth at the Baked Bear! Located on the second floor, there’s an outdoor staircase to make your way up. We ordered a funfetti cookie with blue brownie ice cream and a brownie with espresso ice cream. Honestly you could order one and share it between a few people. Although it’s super close to the hotels off Nevada/California you may want to walk to the beach to walk it off! Deeelliiish!!

Just left this place and gave some very nice coaching to one of the servers behind the counter and instead of saying thank you just stared at me. Her hair was loose and as she was serving ice cream almost touching the ice cream in the containers, handling money and handing us a cone at the register. The line was pretty long but moved quickly. I was happy with the service. I loved that you could see all the cookie options in the display case and their was a good variety. The taste and quality of the cookie was very good- they were soft and very tasty. The brownie was also very good. I got the banana chocolate chunk cookie and brownie combo with butter brittle cake ice cream. It was very good but very messy too eat. Luckily they give you a container with spoon to eat it.

First time trying this place. Was recommended to try their bear batter flavored ice cream with the gooey butter cake cookie. It definitely was delicious!

This is a franchise and they were short staffed with a line out the door, so the service wasnt great, as expected. Neither my husband nor I got asked if we wanted our sandwiches warmed up, and the girl forgot my toppings. Which was a bummer, because the whole ice cream sandwich was fairly mediocre, without a lot of depth of flavor. The pictures were cute though, so I guess that counts for something.

The staff was very friendly! The ice cream and cookies were delicious. It definitely hit the spot after snowboarding. There is parking behind the building, but if it’s packed it’s kind of annoying if you just want to run in and grab ice cream.

For a cookie ice cream spot, this is pretty good. Super fast service and chill people. I ordered bear batter ice cream, red velvet cookie with fruity pebbles. So good and it’s a huge portion. I couldn’t even finish it.

This place....oh my gosh, it is so enjoyable. A custom-made-to-order ice cream sandwich that you wont soon forget. The only downside i experienced was a longer line on our second visit, but that just lets you know youre at a good place! Late in the day they may run low on certain ingredients, but with so much to choose from you still have great choices. Dont miss this place!

Came here with some of my non-vegan family members, and we all had a good experience. I was happy that they have a vegan ice cream option - the Soy Chocolate Chip. (They also had a Soy Espresso Oreo, but I am guessing it was not gluten-free.) I got it in a cup with no toppings. But then I actually had to wait a bit after ordering before getting my ice cream because it was frozen so hard that it was too hard to scoop, but it was only like an 8-10-minute wait. We werent in a hurry.But when I got it, I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted so close to regular dairy ice cream. I have had plenty of nondairy/vegan ice creams, and many of them are not that great. This was actually somewhat creamy.My sister and niece shared a brownie ice cream sandwich, which they seemed to like a lot.Definitely will need to come back here now that I know this is here and that they have vegan options!

These ice cream sandwiches are seriously good! Custom made, you individually choose the bottom and top cookies (or brownie, or donut), then choose the ice cream, and finish with your toppings! The sandwiches are huge and delicious. Definitely give this place a try but make sure you go there with enough room in your stomach!

Pretty sadly couldnt even order. We came all excited as we saw the vegan options but when we asked the person on the counter she out a very rude weird face and could not understand what we were asking. After trying three times, her confusion and demeanor was so unappealing we left without ordering. With that kind of trust on their own vegan products I honestly cannot believe that these are vegan at all!

For some reason the vegan option is more expensive than the already overly expensive ice creams. I tried clarifying this with an employee and they were very rude to me. I didnt buy anything, Im saving those $9 for a Daiya ice cream elsewhere

This was our 1st time here (6/13/17) at The Baked Bear. Great customer service & a variety of cookies and ice cream.My daughter ordered: chocolate chip cookie in a tin bowl with birthday cake ice cream with oreo cookie crumbles on the top.My niece ordered: top cookie was snicker doodle bottom cookie was red velvet and ice cream was coffee.They loved it because they ate it all. Well be back soon. Thank you ladies.We went again on (7/8/18). Its still great. My d as daughter ordered brownie on bottom with coffee & chocolate ice cream with snicker doodle cookie on top.

What can I say about this place? They serve custom ice cream sandwiches. Pick your delicious cookies, huge selection you can mix and match, then pick your ice cream, several fresh and yummy flavors, get it hot-pressed so the cookies are warm, then stuff your face with reckless abandon... Definitely need to try it

This place is to die for! The women behind the counter was extremely nice! She allowed us to sample the ice cream. I got a sandwich with 2 different cookies which were heavenly! So soft! The toasted s’mores and blackberry ice cream are out of this world! My friend got a chocolate chip bowl with Espresso ice cream topped with heath bar! We highly recommend this shop! We ate it so fast we forgot to take a picture!

Just an ingenious idea-custom ice cream sandwiches! So yummy 😋 They have the option to get just ice cream cones or cookies or brownies too. The hours and location are great, right in the heart of South Lake Tahoe strip. Prices reasonable too. Cant wait to try a new combo on my next trip here!! One of my new favorite dessert spots in South Lake Tahoe.

Its cookies and ice cream. Everything was fresh. Service was decent and clean.Celiac sidenote: gluten free cookies are made/ baked in the same kitchen as the non gluten free cookies.

Concerning place to eat at during covid. Skip to very end for the most concerning issues this business has.-called and they told me they close at 12am. Showed up at 11:45pm and I had to argued with worker to serve me.-workers friend was loitering in lobby.-only 2 types of cookies available.-music was extremely loud and couldnt properly communicate with worker.-worker didnt take the time to finish order.-asked to have it hot pressed and worker refused because she had already turned off machine and since she didnt take the time to finish my order she had already put whipped cream on it.The worst two things that happened were1)she DIDNT have a MASK on while talking directly over scooping my ice cream. I told her to put it on. She did, but not without rolling her eyes first, of course.2) there was a DUST PAN on the counter. She literally moved it in front of me to place my food.I will be calling the health authority. I am sick of the virus peaking and people like this worker make it difficult to get back to normal life.

Very worth a visit here. We saw they had choose your own ice cream sandwich, and we knew we had to try it. We kept not having any room, so we decided it would be our lunch on our last day ;). So glad we did. Wonderful cookies, and plenty to choose from to please anyone. Great choice of ice cream flavors as well. Generous servings. Great service. Put this on your list of places!

After a day of skiing and dinner, we skipped the dessert at the restaurant and headed over to The Baked Bear. Fantastic selection of homemade cookies and ice cream. The options are endless. Great customer service. Great job on up selling on the add ons. That’s what makes a great business, great people. Thank y’all for a great experience!

Yummy! I hiked the PCT two years ago and this was one of my favorite parts of Tahoe back then. I visited it again recently and was equally as satisfied. I love being able to pick the cookies you want and ice cream. Don’t skip trying the Baked Bear while you’re in town!

Our first time here and they didnt disappoint. My son had a hot fudge sundae with a brownie. My wife tasted it and commented on how moist the brownie was. Good job! The brownie was soft and moist. We bought some cookies and made ice cream sandwiches back at the resort. Cookies were good! Give them try.

Went here with my family after a day on the slopes. A place like this with ice cream would seem to be better enjoyed in the summer but with the option to warm your cookies in your sandwich, it makes a great treat to warm up after a day in the cold. Friendly service and the menu was easy to figure out to order something. They also were selling a day-old dozen cookies for only $7.50, a complete steal in my opinion! Would recommend for anyone visiting South Lake Tahoe in any season.

Came to Tahoe for a small 5 day vacation. Was referred to Baked Bear by our bartender here at the Base Camp Hotel brewery. We were met by a great young lady. She helped us reign in our tastebuds to an excellent choice and combination of tasty treats. The store was clean, quiet, the cookies, brownies, and ice cream were excellent! 5 stars just because it made us feel good. Oh and its a must have if youre in Tahoe.

This place is pretty awesome. You can get lots of awesome dessert options but the best by far is the ice cream sandwiches. You can pick a different type of cookie for the top and bottom, they have awesome ice cream options, and you can get good toppings too.

The dessert options, quality and quantity were superb for the price. The young staff was a little inattentive to the cleanliness of the tables. During downtime, they sat behind the counter fiddling on their cellphones instead of staying busy cleaning or resupplying.

Um, two huge fresh baked cookies with a bunch of ice-cream in between. 5 Stars. Last time we were there, through, the staff was really impersonal.
