Amazing coffee! The Bourbon Barrel Aged Nitro Brew is some of the best coffee I’ve ever had - worth the price. I came her while visiting Portland and I am sad they don’t have a location in NYC.

The coffee here is really high quality and well done. We also had a banana bread that was amazing. I highly recommend this place.

I discovered Rwanda Bean Co. during a cycling tour of Portland, and the roastery was a truly amazing experience! Not only did the serve the best blonde roast I have ever tasted, but I received an outstanding education on the roasting and brewing process from John the Coffee Guru Walsh. If youre visiting Portland you MUST add Rwanda Bean to your must-see list.

I put the espresso in my top 5 in the world, rich complex flavor with a smooth finish. Very friendly barista, large comfortable space, a great local find.

The staff was friendly and helpful. I tried their red velvet whoopie and it was absolutely delicious! Next time were in Portland well have to stop by again!

There are fine beans to be had Smokey and Rich and golfing the entire area with the aroma of fresh coffee and fresh brewed coffee. If youre looking for the treats youll find them here as well totally kept in their last cases. To feel good about drinking coffee is to become one with the beam its truly arrived at oneself

Terrific find for coffee and the mission they have - sending back profits to Rawanda! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The coffee and tea are served fresh and is full of flavor whether served hot or cold. Ample space to hang out and drink or do some work. Dont forget the whoopies!

I only tried a light roast drip coffee, but it was honestly terrific! Cashier/barista was super kind too.

I love the ground espresso from here! Ive always bought espresso from Italy, but this is just as delicious and its great to know exactly where its from, that the farmers are fairly paid and buying from a local business is the added bonus!

A welcoming and friendly place to get an outstanding coffee. If you arent familiar with cold brew coffee or nitro cold brew you HAVE to give this place a try. They offer a bunch of different flavors ranging from blonde to bold as well as some insanely good specialty brews like Bourbon or Chai. It will impress the most experienced coffee drinkers and convert non coffee drinkers (my wife 😂) into cold brew fanatics. They also have standard coffee house offerings and great pastries.

OBSESSED with their Blonde Roast and monthly subscription! First off, the blonde is a perfect light roast. It brews beautifully in a Chemex and isn’t bitter whatsoever. Second, I feel great about buying my coffee from a local black-owned company with a stellar, ethical, and community-based mission, and I don’t even have to go anywhere! My subscription is delivered monthly by someone who is always wearing a mask, which is the icing on the cake. 100% would recommend!

Love this place. It has great service, great drinks, and a huge selection of whoopie pies. So good! In pre-Covid times, the seating area was great - very cozy and welcoming. Sadly, its not an option now, but I appreciate what theyre doing to prevent the spread of Covid.

Rwanda Bean is the place to go for coffee! The coffee is wonderful, and the company gives back half of the profits to the farmers in Rwanda, who often times dont make a fair profit due to middle-men. This is possible because the founder, Mike, has a direct relationship with the farmers in Rwanda. The staff are amazing. Erin, Andrew, Zane, John, Jay, and Mark are all super friendly and helpful. Its a great place to set up your laptop and study, meet with friends, or just hang out. You can also try a delicious cold brew flight, straight from the tap!

This week we had a wonderful experience in ordering a take-out breakfast for my office. Marc was stellar in taking our order and discussing our options, and the food + coffee were ready right on time—the baristas even helped me bring everything to my car! Rwanda Bean has been a wonderful addition to the neighborhood and we will continue to visit often :)

This place was amazing. The coffee was top notch AND they have Whoopie Pies! I had an Iced Maple Latte and my husband had a Nitro Flight. I also had a yummy Maple oat scone. Everything was delicious and I took home a few Pies for my kids. The two guys working were very friendly and helpful. A great coffee shop.

This is a great place to get a cup of coffee or a latte, especially if you prefer lighter roasts and beans that dont taste burnt. They also have a great nitro coffee.

More than just a nice coffee shop with a modern interior. The staff were bright, courteous, and pleasant. We came right at the time of closing and they let us in to buy beans and a delicious key-lime whoopie pie. 5/5 would visit again.

So this place was amazing. All of their coffee is fair trade sourced but not priced with a high markup. Staff is friendly, very relaxed vibe but good baristas. The thing here are the best friggin whoopie pies Ive ever had. I know, were all mainers and all had our opinion of the best pies, I wont embarrass my previous but I was wrong, this place for the win!

My wife and I travel the country (and outside the country) in search of the finest coffees we can find. As diehard, nearly puritanical fans of African grown coffee, we often find ourselves at odds with the trendier, younger coffee-enthusiast crowd who tend to like more floral, citrusy and brighter coffees. Its bothersome, as these hip youngsters are fanatically passionate about their coffee; we love that. We just HATE their taste in coffee. Come along Rwanda Bean Company... We stumbled upon this institution while touring Portland from our hometown of Brooklyn, NY. While our go-to favorite coffee is Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, this coffee simply surpassed anything we have ever tasted and this incredible business surpassed anything were accustomed to in NYC. From the small batches of hand-picked choice beans grown by the farmers, sold directly to this business and roasted on-site in front of the customer, to 50% profits given back to these farmers, I simply cannot imagine a more perfect coffee institution nor have we tasted a finer, fresher coffee in our lives. My only suggestion (aside from a DONATE NOW option for the farmers) is: offer Chemex brews to your customers so they can truly enjoy just how incredible this coffee is and print roast dates on your bagged coffee so they know how fresh it is.
