This place does more damage than good! And they try to add things that you don’t need to do in order to get more money. Do not go! I took my car in for an oil change and they told me the serpentine belt was damaged and had to be fixed immediately, (after looking at reviews I’m not the first person they’ve told this to) took it to another shop and they said the belt was completely fine. They replaced my headlight bulb and when I drove away I noticed the light was still not working so I went back and they said the person who did it wasn’t there anymore so someone else looked at it and they had done it wrong. He supposedly fixed it and I was able to go home with a fixed light. A few days later I noticed my headlight had shifted in place and my headlight went out again a few weeks later. I had someone else look at it and they showed me how the previous person had broken a clip that held the headlight up, and messed a few things up.. this place is unprofessional and rips people off.

I brought my vehicle in because my shifter kept getting stuck in park. I did some research online before hand and it looked like it would probably be a simple fix, that a fuse was out or something like that. I waited at the location for around 3 hours. While I was there, another customer came into the store, furious, claiming that her car had started making strange noises after a routine service and that another mechanic had told her that it was Precision Tune Auto Cares fault. I also heard the woman working at the front desk on the phone later, saying how difficult it was that they only had one technician working and that the technician needed to leave soon.I watched as the technician looked at my car, he probably spent 5 minutes in there. As he was looking, the front desk woman said Oh, it looks like its the transmission! I was confused as to how she would make that assumption watching him from outside. When the technician came back in they told me that my transmission was completely shot. This was very surprising to me, since my car had generally been driving fine and I didnt understand how he could diagnose that in such a short period of time. The front desk woman did some research and told me that the transmission would be 6,600 to replace and recommended that I try going to a transmission repair spot for a cheaper price. She gave me a discount on the diagnostic, around $40 instead of $60.I have reached the conclusion that the mechanic was just trying to get me out of there and that they made an assumption with very little evidence. I took my vehicle to Mike Palmers Automotive, my usualy mechanic, and they diagnosed the problem as a short circuit in my brake light, making it a much cheaper and simpler repair. I am appalled that if I wasnt the type to get a second opinion that I would have potentially done an incredibly expensive repair or sold my car. It also is a bit absurd that I paid $40 for an individual to look at my car for 5 minutes and give it an incorrect diagnosis.In Summary: I wouldnt trust this spot to diagnose your car or do any work on it. At first, I thought I might be a good spot for a quick fix, but now I plan on never returning here again.

I wrote this about 4 months ago and realized it was on my work email which I didnt want it to be or need it to be... it is not work related at all.My daughter had an appointment scheduled with them to get her oil changed. had the car there early and the lady at the counter tells my boyfriend that it will be an hour to an hour and a half wait because there are 2 other cars ahead of her car... why have an appointment if you cant get the car in when the appointment is set for and have to wait that long for it to be done? I believe they are appointments for reasons and then she also mentions that there is only 1 tech there working?? Oh my!!! sounds not only are they behind schedule but they are also looking for some help as well... good grief.... I will continue to deal with the other one where they are better and more liable people... and at the end of it all... the Technician ended up getting her car right in and getting it done. Thank you to the Tech there!!!!

I love the price on their fully-synthetic oil change. They were busy the day I went in and told me it would be 2 hours, I was fine with that. I walked out over four hours later. Great price if you’re willing to spend half your day in the shop.

Shawn was very nice and had excellent customer service skills! Helped me right away and gave me the quotes I needed. Ken was the one who did the work on my car and he was very professional, upfront, and I didn’t feel like he was trying to upsellme on anything. It was a great experience and I’ve already recommended them to my friends!Oh! They also said, if you do business there they’re able to give you a free car fax report on your car. Other places usually charge $50. I just felt like they went above and beyond for me!

Decent value but sooo slow

Xavier worked very great on my car, making sure to check every detail to see if I needed to replace anything while getting my oil changed. While waiting I had pleasant conversation with Shaundale. It was a great experience all around I am very glad that I came in today and got to meet the both of them.

My experience could not have been better. Called from the road on Saturday afternoon in 105 degree temp. AC had died. I had called others, no room. Sam said come on in, he’d get it done. 1 hour 20 minutes after pulling in, we were back on the road, with performing AC. Dye in the half pound of Freon, in case it was leaking. 6 bays, all functioning. In the waiting room, we interacted with all employees- each one polite and professional. It was an exceptionally well run shop, and such a positive experience. I would recommend Precision Tune to any traveler or local who needs quick, well done, skilled work on their car.

Do not use! They told me that my serpentine belt is bad and needs replacement. I went to two other places to have them check the belt and was told that belt is fine. They also broke some specific nuts while doing oil change and it got fixed luckily by the other shop I used for my next oil change.

Jodi took great care to explain every detail of what was needed. She didnt try to give us anything we didnt need and was helpful, knowledgeable and very efficient.

I think the ladies name was Julie or something at the front but she is ridiculously aggressive when asking if you want a filter change, really surprised she is still employed there. She’s lost tons of business for that place in her failed attempts to up-charge. Always trying to disgustingly guilt trip me about spending an additional 50 dollars each time by saying how my baby is breathing in bad air because I won’t change my filter each time. Will never return and strongly do not recommend. They say don’t get the Groupon but then charge an additional service fee without it. DO NOT WASTE your time.

10/10 would recommend. Jodi and Ken were super helpful and quoted me on an oil change way below what other mechanics were asking. Very transparent, and they explained everything that might need to be done in the future (with VERY reasonable quotes). Ive had bad experiences with other mechanics in Salt Lake so this is the one I will be coming to in the future.

On 01/09/2021 I got an oil change at precision tune auto care 2547 s state street.On 02/13/2021 I was pulling out of my street to grab my kids valentines gifts and I barely made it onto redwood about 1 minute away from my house.My car started making a weird noise and a message popped up saying low oil pressure, pull over. My car shut off and would not start.I had it towed to Toyota and they told me that the oil filter was missing and that caused oil to leak into my motor, since precision was the last ones to touch my vehicle Toyota will not grant my warranty.I have contacted precision and spoke with the manager Devin, he tells me ‘’ you can’t leave our lot without an oil filter’’ which indeed is correct I wouldn’t have made it far but whoever did my oil that day didn’t put the oil filter on correctly and that is why it fell off, he doesn’t think that’s possible.. he just tells me there’s nothing They can do that the dealership is framing them.I then call again and tell him the motor will be $3,700 and he said that I can find a mechanic to do it for cheaper but again they are saying they aren’t liable since they didn’t do anything wrong.My car is a 2018 with 41,000 miles, there’s no reason the motor should have blown, the oil filter was not put on correctly.Toyota stated that they will not do my warranty because ‘’ for all they know I could have taken the oil filter off to get a new motor’’ also that the oil change company is liable which I agree.The reason for this post is so precision tune auto will take me serious as they have not. The head boss was supposed to call my dad back regarding this situation 2 days ago and we haven’t heard anything.

My air conditioner was blowing hot air and my windshield washers werent working. They got me right in and fixed both. I thought the price was very reasonable.

Wasted an hour trying to get a quote.I wanted to install a specific suspension made exactly for my 2020 vehicle. The lady at the front was nice and asked me to come in to get a quick quote.I was there for over an hour waiting for a mechanic to look at a 1 page installation instructions for 2 mins and told me it would take 3 hours at $110 per hour. He said they’d need to cut if it doesn’t fit and a bunch of BS. This part is a plug and play installation.Sumo springs take less than an hour to install. You jack the car up unscrew the factory suspensions and screw the new one.I would have been okay with a overpriced quote with BS explanations. I’m upset my time was wasted.

I did not even want to give him a star I went in first thing in the morning to get an oil change. Tell me to come back in an hour and a half I asked you an appointment couldnt get one for an hour and a half they dont give them besides they said they dont make oil change anyway so they dont give a s*** if I come back or not bad business

Went in for an oil change. Advertised price 3999. Ended up charging an additional seven dollars for shop fees. This was a total bait and switch. If you use them use the Groupon. You only paid 3999. Thought I was doing them a favor by not using Groupon. Will never return.

Abel was so willing to help get my car door unlocked after locking my keys, purse and phone inside. First, he tried a hanger; that didnt work. Second, he tried a stronger tool; still no success. Third, he noticed the sun roof was open and he climbed on the car, put the wire down the window; bingo, he got the car door open. I was so thankful for his help!!! He definitely went above and beyond to help a damsel in distress. Hell remember his trip to Utah. Thank you again, Abel!

I came in for my usual oil change and asked the lady at the front desk Julie to not bother with my air filter and to only focus on the oil change and tire rotation. She told me that if I was only coming in for sloppy maintenance I could service my vehicle somewhere else. after she took my key I asked to speak with a manager she ran to speak with the manager and I wasnt given an option to speak with him. They refused me service and were very unprofessional all because of a simple request. I was there to maintain my vehicle and was told I was doing it sloppy because I hadnt hired them to fix or repair any of the recommendations they had made.

Robert, before becoming a general manager, always listened to my concerns. Jodi took over as the new store manager and she is as great as Robert. I have recommended many friends here, and I will continue to do so. They are great people, they never ripped me off or pressure me into a service. They would recommend a service, but never tried to go around selling it to me.

I came in with a Groupon I had purchased, the woman at the front desk let me know that their regular price was better than the Groupon price and helped me cancel the Groupon (so dont buy the Groupon folks!). She was very helpful and didnt make me feel dumb, which can often happen as I am a woman that doesnt know a lot about cars. They got my oil changed super fast, even though it seemed to be a very busy day for them. Ill definitely be going back.

I came in an hour before closing on a Saturday without an appointment just on the off chance they might be able to see me. They were understandably busy but were able to fit me on the schedule Monday morning. As I was leaving I asked the lady at the front if I could just purchase a quart of oil to tie me over until Monday and she was so kind to me. She talked to the boys and asked if they could just squeeze me in real quick and let me know that I can always come in to get topped off if I need to. I love the Murray location, they are always so fast and friendly. I appreciated that so much.

I was for the auto care in the beginning, now that there’s new workers I dislike it big time. I got there 50 mins before closing time and the garage was all closed already walked in and the guy at the front desk informed me that they were booked up with cars already. Tell me why there was no customers and he said they only do appointments but I was there a week prior and I never had to book an appointment. It was just them being lazy to take my car due too 50 mins before closing smh.

Actual mechanics who dont want to rip you off. Almost like a miracle or something. You should go there if you need anything fixed on your vehicle.

I had come here for very reasonably priced oil changes, and decided to try them out for brakes when I was given a quote I thought was high at a business nearby. Sure enough, precision was $100 less and they got me in right away. They always show me a quote before doing work and there are no surprises. They seem to understand their customers just want quick, good work at a fair price. I waited three hours (literally) at the other place just for diagnostics and got a laundry list of $2,200 suggested repairs, with no suggestion of how to prioritize.

9/27/2020**I hope this review saves people from being taken advantage of by this company.I was on my way to Arizona and I just needed an oil change. The mechanic said that I needed to get my rotors and brakes replaced with their package deal of 299.99. Then I got a second opinion from Jones Complete Auto Care. They diagnosed my car and it turns out my brake pads and rotors were fine and DID NOT need to be changed. The mechanic said, “They were only half used and he would be robbing me if he charged me to replace everything”. Beware of this company! They are not honest mechanics. I recommend going to Jones’s. They gave me free diagnostics and instead of making a sale they CHOSE to be honest.

Do not under any circumstance go here absolutely horrible was told an hour and a half at 11:30 AM was told 20 minutes at 2 PM did not leave until 2:45 PM making me late for work and potentially losing my job very unprofessional I will not ever!!! Be back again absolutely unacceptable

I have gone here twice for an oil change and wanted to wait till my 2nd visit before writing a review. I am happy to say both of my experiences were the same. Quick service, great customer service, quality work, and most importantly to me..cheapest price for full synthetic.These people here aren’t after your money. They won’t try to up sell you. If something needs replacement, they will obviously tell you but won’t push you if you don’t want to. This place just earned a lifetime customer.

Total waste of time to go here if you dont make an appointment. They dont have enough staff to handle walk-ins in a timely manner... They said I could drop it off and come back 4 hours later for an oil change. 3 stars solely for the pricing...

Employees need to be trained in costumer care

I was so impressed with Precision. From the minute i called i was treated with respect and honesty. The were so helpful and went above and beyond to help me with my car troubles. Even helping me drive the car down the road. They kept me informed of the progress and i felt like a valuable customer from minute one. Everyone working there was friendly and informative and i will definitely be taking all my cars there from now on! Randy was awesome!!

Pricing was not communicated clearly and I ended up paying more than i expected. You dont add a parts fee after the fact, you include in the initial price- its the cost of doing business and advertising a lower price without it to make the offer more appealing is a form of bait-and-switch. While I have to give them credit for changing my oil quickly, they should have included the price of the oil, as well as labor, in the initial quote. Hidden fees are never okay.

We took my 2013 Dodge Dart because my check engine light came on and it was running rough. They fixed my car fairly quickly but they really overcharged me and didnt actually fix the problem. Ive brought my car back to give them another chance to fix it. Less then 2 weeks later it broke again. They never found the actual problem and I did their job with just a quick Google search. Do not take your car here. They are crooks.

The guys were friendly. They were fast. They didn’t try to up sell me on stuff I didn’t need. Most important, they had no problems with letting my dog inside to wait with me.

Customers, clients, read this before you want Precision tune auto care to do anything to your vehicle.Back on oct 19-2020 I took my car to this place for a tune up . First time ever, worst experience ever. I paid $400.00 dollars for a tune up. 3 weeks later my car broke down so I had it towed back to “precision tune auto care” since they had done a poor job on my vehicle. A spark plug blew up but they just performed a tune up on my vehicle 3 weeks ago from the time it broke down. A friend of mine had recommended this place so when I had the car towed back to them, instead of calling Me and letting ME know what the problem was they had my friend who was a client there, relate a bunch of bs in regards to my car. The car was/is mine, I paid the $400.00 dollars not my friend. So I waited, and waited, for a call from this place to explain to ME what was going on and what they could have done to fix my car since they messed it up. My car sat an their parking lot for over a week until I had The time and I was able to have it towed once again to a more professional, responsible and competent mechanic auto shop. This other mechanic as soon as he new what the problem was he said precision tune should have been responsible for fixing what he did for $1200.00 dollars. I do have my receipts. “Precision tune auto care did not guaranteed their work. My car sat at their parking lot for this whole time but they did not bother to call me and ask me when was I picking it up because they knew they were at fault. They did not want to be responsible for it and did not want to put all the money in to it since they messed it up. But as soon as i responded to their email asking me how likely was I to recommend this place i posted ZEROOOO and so then, they were prompted to call me and ask me why? Within half hour of getting a “0” really? They left me carless for 3 months I was livid. I literally just got my car back on 01/31/2021.Overall I paid $1800.00 dollars including towing fees for taking my vehicle to this place for a tune up. If I had the time they would have been suited for that amount. I don’t have the time for their bs. I got ripped off by them.Precision tune auto care are very, very irresponsible, very unprofessional, very un competent and what they should do is REFUND ME MY MONEY

I have a 1968 Convertible Caddliac Deville that broke down in the middle of an intersection. I was a damsel in distress and freaking out. These guys had a vintage specialist on site and got my car back to me in hours after the tow. They called and made sure every repair was authorized and handled it. I will be back for more of my restoration. I am very happy and they RULE! Thanks for fixing it right and right away!

UPDATE 02/23Since my oil change here I have had a persistent oil leak that I never had before. I brought it back to Devon and his team to try and fix, and all the did was add more oil, the leak was still there. Took my car else where and turns out the guys here forgot to replace the drain plug gasket when I had my oil changed.I called and spoke with Devon to bring it to his attention, and he adamantly denied having anything to do with it, and insisted it must have been whoever did my oil before them. I explained I know 1000000% it was their shop as I had had my car almost a year, and NEVER had a single issue or leak until getting an oil change with them. He proceeded to heavily imply I was lying and insist it couldnt have been them, but that they could charge me to order another gasket.

I was quoted like 15 - 20 minutes for a full synthetic oil change, but since I was the only customer with 2 techs working on my car it only took about 10 minutes. This was the first visit for my car, but my girlfriend had been coming here for her oil changes for a while now. Everytime they give a time quote, they have been done early. Super fast, super friendly, and super polite every time, regardless of who you talk to. 9/10 would recommend. The tenth one doesnt have a car.

Management and the staff were amazing here! They got me in right away and fixed my issue very quickly. Devon was kind and would tell me what the issue was before he worked on it with my approval. I would refer my family and friends to go here!

I had my Subarus AC serviced here recently and these folks were very timely and accommodating with the repairs. Extremely fair price, nice staff, and all around great work. They explained everything well and couldnt have been better. I just moved up here and this was an awesome find. Highly recommend.

After doing my research and looking for a reputable mechanics shop in my area I chose to visit Precision Tune Auto Care because of the great reviews on here. When I came to pick up my truck I was shocked to see I was being charged $650 to change 8 spark plugs and the wires on my 2009 Chevy Silverado. When I asked the front desk manager if this was an error he told me no that they had to take a cover off the engine to get to the spark plugs and this is what it cost. When I pointed out to the front desk manager that all of my spark plugs were easily accessible from the sides of the engine with no cover over them whatsoever he immediately began to back pedal and said he would drop a little off the labor. To put this in perspective spark plugs are about $10 a piece and wires run around $60 for a set. That’s $140 in parts from any auto parts store and takes a maximum of one hour to change. They charged me $450 in parts and then tacked on $198 in labor and lied about what it took to get the job done. I know you have to mark things up to have a profitable business but this is an absolute joke. This is the sketchiest repair shop I have ever visited and feel so deceived by the reviews on here and am convinced they are mostly paid fakes. That is why I am posting this review. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!

These guys are the best! ROBERT the manager is great to deal with and Jody at the front desk is so sweet and so professional and they love all of their customers!!! Brakes were making noises, took my car there the guy said front brakes are good and he replaced the rear brakes, bur still making noises, brought my car back, there was a different person at the desk, I explained the problem the guy with a really bad attitude check my car and said everything was fine but the noise continues, brought my car for a third time, sane guy, same bad attitude and now they say is the front brakes when they said front brakes are good. I cant trust these people, never go back to this place

I loved that the mechanic was friendly, honest and informative! They also got my brakes changed really quickly at HALF the price of two other places I got quotes from! The staff was very kind and the waiting room and bathroom were both super clean! As a single mother, I feel that it’s REALLY important to find reliable, fair-priced, honest and quick mechanics who don’t talk down to you just because you’re a woman, or may not know much about cars. I will 110% be taking my car back again to have some heating and air issues looked at that I’ve been putting off. I’m SO glad I found this place!

I specifically told him before they started digging into my car to come talk to me and tell me how much everything will cost. He said, oh of course because if we dont thats how we get in trouble. Well, he didnt come talk to me at all after that original quote so I assumed I would be paying $200, because thats what the original quote was. But then after all was said and done he rung up the price at $380! I was like, oh no you told me $200! He said yeah but we had to do a little more work than we thought. And I said but you told me $200, and I told you to come talk to me before you started working on it when you knew the extent of the problem. Anyways, after arguing a little bit he dropped the price down to $280, but still. The deception and the lies just got to me and I will never be going back to them. Thanks guys for being yet another untrustworthy mechanic shop.

Friendly, knowledgeable and comforting staff. They serviced my car right away and were able to diagnose and fix the problem the same day. Knowing that I still had a very long way to drive that day they did their very best to make sure and fix my car as soon as humanly possible. They were great about walking me through the process and keeping me updated on their progress which I really appreciated. They even allowed me to apply to different coupons in order to save me almost $100; that may not be a lot of money to some but for me meant a great deal. Been coming here since Sept when I first got my new truck. Have really appreciated Mikey explaining things to me - I never took auto mechanic courses but I can understand the concepts when they are explained. He has also been happy to help me with minor fixes I brought up that had nothing to do with the reason for my visit. Pricing is great, service is fast. Thanks!

Update: 28 Jan 2019 - Just had another great experience at Precision Tune! Went in this morning for rear brake pads and rotors, plus an oil change. They had me in, out and done so fast. Speed is everything in our business. We cant afford to have our vehicles off line for long. Giving another FIVE STARS today.We take all our vehicles to these guys. They wont rip you off and the prices are reasonable. Its obvious the manager Rich really takes pride in their work and the reputation of the shop. So glad we found these guys.

Got a quote over the phone for them to replace the spark plugs for 199.99. When we got to the shop the price we were told was 400.00. Make sure you get the real price before you have this shop do any work on your vehicle, you may be very surprised about the bill you receive when you pick your vehicle up!!

Staff was great, gave me a itemized list of future services, but Deven at the counter told me just knock a little off at a time and not to worry about all of it at once, made me feel a lot better and not so worried about money !!! The receptionist was very friendly. After my oil change was done, Richard - the gentleman taking care of my car - pointed out a few areas that would need attention soon. He did in such a way that left me informed but under no pressure to get those things taken care of right then and there. He could have just done my oil change and said goodbye, but he provided excellent customer service. If I lived in the area, I would come to this location in the future.
