I contacted them this past weekend for information on a car and I got a response one time about pictures. I further thought to email about the mileage on the car, internet pricing of the car, etc. I got a response I was going to receive pictures shortly and never got them. The fact is I was down there to view a cheap car for that weekend and would possibly buy the car in cash if I liked it but, I never got a response after. I am only giving it a one star due to lack of communication via email. This could have been a deal gone great and no response blew it.

Terrible customer service. They will watch you standing there waiting in the service area forever before they finally decide to acknowledge that you are outside. When they do finally acknowledge you, it is to tell you to keep waiting for someone else to finally acknowledge you. Third time coming here with the same experience, won’t be back.

Completely unethical in their dealings.. They literally sold a car out from me as I was finalizing paperwork saying that they worked a deal with another person.. No amount of explaining or pleading would change their mind.. Shame on these people, no morals or ethics to speak of. Write me, Ill tell you all about it.

Today was the worst experience my wife and myself had ever had while purchasing a vehicle. We started the process at 9 a.m. this morning and finally were able to take delivery of the vehicle at 515 p.m. this evening. We felt like the sales consultant ( D.S ) did not really care about our time. The financing was approved by 1p.m., not sure why it took so long. By 145 p.m. we had already been in the finance office where Mr. Robinson went through all our terms and signed off on everything. By the way Mr. Robinson was very professional and got us signed off fairly quickly. We finished signing all documents by 2 p.m. and were ready for our new car. The car was still parked in the same spot, had not been fueled or cleaned. I started looking for our sales consultant and saw he was working another customer on the lot. Finally we got to talk to him and he said he will have the car ready in an hour. During that time we went home to pick up the title for the trade. We returned at around 245 p. m. and the car we we bought was still sitting in the same parking spot, nothing had been done. I talked to the sales consultant again and he finally got the ball rolling. The sad thing is it still took until 515 p. m to get the car. If it had not been the fact that they had the exact car my wife wanted then we would have went somewhere else. In the future we will not do business with Landers Auto Sales on 223 East Goodman Road. Maybe at one of there other locations but not that one. Sales consultants should never take the customer for granted, just because you got them in the finance office signing papers does not mean you are through with the sale. A sales consultant must follow the sales process all the way through to delivery of the new car. Our sales consultant made us feel like just another number on his belt.

Ive bought two vehicles here in the past with no issues. I went there looking for a couple of trucks on their website, none of them were actually available due to needing repairs. So I told them that I was looking for a 4x4 in a certain price range and the salesman said that he had an option and brought a 2wd with a price tag that was 60% higher than my price range and acted like he did me a favor. Cant buy from someone that wont listen to what Im looking for and wont buy from someone that lists things as available which actually arent for sale as bait so they can switch to something more expensive.

Frank King is a wonderful person and manager!!! Unfortunately I have to give a one because my husband bout a truck from Landers last week and we still CANT even get tags! Due to the fact that the title is still in whom ever traded it in. An the guy that does the contract for them keeps telling us if we get pulled over by the police to say we just bought the truck and the paperwork had the date of purchase on it, so my husband asked him if he gets a ticket is he going to pay it and he said no because thats on you.

The internet sales manager, Griffin Ellis, offered a test drive of a car that I was interested in. I ask why the car had been removed from the Landers web site 2 day previous, was it sold??? He assured me that it was on the lot and available. I drove 45 minutes in rainy, rush hour traffic to this lot. Only to be told that the particular car I was interested in was going to be sold wholesale. He claimed to have sent me an email letting me know this. Funny, I got lots of emails from him about this car, but none of them shared the fact that it wasn’t for sale to me.Keep doing used car salesmen proud Mr. Ellis

There is much to say, so you should probably get comfortable. For the sake of fairness, I will leave out names and specific vehicle information. The vehicle: They offered a vehicle on their website, but it was at another lot, but in a day, they had it brought to this location. It was a used vehicle with some cosmetic issues, but the engine was good; the transmission shifted without hesitation. There were no obvious signs of leakage. The test drive: Vehicle performed well and all electronic instruments responded as they should; however, I expressed concerned about the brakes and a rattle on the passenger side to the salesman. I felt as if the brakes needed to be addressed, but we could negotiate who would be responsible for that. The negotiation: The art of negotiating is difficult to accomplish if you are not well-versed in financial verbiage and you need to have pen and paper on hand. There was the usual back and forth and they are good at what they do, so Ill add 2 stars for sheer effort, but will remove them in a bit.The price: Ive been seriously shopping visiting lots for the last six months. I felt the price of the vehicle was reasonable, within market value medians.Method of payment: I had the unusual opportunity to pay cash for the vehicle. No financing, no questions or issues of repossession. Let me interject that it was not for a 5 or 10-thousand-dollar vehicle, but somewhere around 14K, maybe a hint more. I need to add another 2 stars for final price as they worked with me deciding on a price that I was willing to pay.In Closing: I asked for a second key and they advised that they would get it from the other dealer and we settled. I I drove the vehicle home. The next morning, I took the vehicle to a reputable mechanic and was advised that the brakes were good, but the master brake cylinder was not working and that I should park the vehicle until resolved. This was an additional 800.00 fix that I was not ready to hear.Follow-up: When I contacted the dealership and advised them of the master cylinder, the manager exploded. He reminded me that it was an AS-IS vehicle and I understood this, but I was seeing if they would absorb (not all) but some of the cost. I never said all of the cost, but the manager became irate. I fell silent while he yelled down at me. He continued saying that they didnt have time for this which was interesting because I was not going back and forth as I was letting him vent. I was originally told the vehicle went through an inspection, but this is false. Had it went through any inspection, the cylinder would have been noticed. The vehicle is unsafe and hazardous to operate. In the end, I paid 14,500.00 for a vehicle that I cannot drive. The manager concluded stating that there was only one key and Id be responsible for the second one; giving me a name and contact of who they use. This is an additional 300.00 charge.Rating: I would give a total of 4 stars towards the business, but I take them all away. Not because a missing a key or not even being able to drive the vehicle. I remove them for falsifying the inspection and the way he made me fell. I was yelled down to just because of a question; not even letting me finish my question. I wasnt asking something for nothing. I more or less asked if he had anyone that they recommended for work, but he would not let me finish. Conclusion: In the future I will take my cash to another business and since this Landers is part of a Multi-million dollar group of businesses, it would seem to me that supporting the vehicle that you sold to me in one days time with only 6 additional miles on the odometer needing to be parked is not too much to ask to be revisited. Also, by being yelled at and talked down to felt like a threat. It wasnt a reminder to me the AS-IS clause, but a one-sided verbal body slam which ultimately provoked this review. Im glad that I called and not my wife. It comes down to bad leadership and bad business practices. They promised the vehicle was safe for my family. I thank God that they were not behind the wheel.

Buyer beware!! They do NOT inspect the used cars theyre selling. Have your own mechanic look over any vehicle prior to purchase. It may be pretty on the outside, but dont be fooled. I read the reviews before visiting and just thought that some people were maybe disgruntled but I was wrong. I purchased a vehicle not knowing it has major mechanical issues. I was told as far as they could see it was a solid vehicle. Now I have pay thousands in repairs and this wasnt a cheap vehicle. Now Im told by well known reputable mechanic, that if they had it up on the racks, the damage is obvious. How can they sleep at night knowing they do this to people? The General Manager was so rude and talked to us like we are idiots; being we purchased this vehicle. He acted incredibly trashy. Not to mention they sent us away with an empty tank and didnt wash our new vehicle. In my 40 years of buying vehicles, this has been the worse experience. Places like this keep CarMax in business. In the future, I will go elsewhere. Word of mouth goes a long way.

I have never seen a dealership it was so hard to buy a truck from. Contacted them via the Internet to inquire about a Ram 3500. Received a prompt quote and quote for my trade in. I asked for a formal quote to be emailed to me since I live several hours from the dealership. I was told the manager would call me, he never did. I then received a call from the internet manager saying the manager has been trying to call me. I let her know I Was available and was curious at why so many people needed to call me. I tried calling and asking for the internet manager and sales manager. i was transferred to different people and was finally disconnected. No one ever attempted to call me back. Five days later I sent another inquiry in and have still heard nothing. Even though the truck they had was one I was looking for, it’s not worth it. You’d think $60k would be easier to spend....

SHORT STORY: Landers sold me a car with a nail in one of the tires and did nothing about it when I alerted them of it a day after the purchase. Their only solution was for me to bring the car back and refund me which wasnt practical for me because I didnt have any more time to spend car shopping as a grad student trying to defend my thesis this semester. I had to buy 2 new tires (and windshield wipers because turns out they werent in good shape either) the first day of owning my new car. The manager offered to send me a check for $150 to cover only one of the 2 new tires since I decided to keep the car. Spoiler alert: its been a month and I still havent seen that check.DETAILED STORY: After my car was totaled in an accident, I went to Landers to look at a used car that I found on their website that appeared to be a good deal. I drove over an hour from Oxford to test drive it and I ended up making a deal that night with the new saleswoman (Brianna?) I was working with and the manager, Frank King. I noticed when test driving it that the check tire pressure light was on and asked that the tires all be checked before I came back for it the next day. Upon arrival to pick it up, I was made aware that they were no longer sure they could accept my form of payment and would have to check with the owner of Landers (I was paying cash - half up front, and half a week later as the insurance check from my totaled car was going to take that long to fully clear which is not an unusual circumstance). Even though Id already filled out paperwork and even though they already had 24 hours to check, I still had to wait for them to try to reach the owner. When he finally gave the go ahead, I got the keys and drove off. Halfway back to Oxford after finally getting through rush hour traffic in Southaven, I noticed the check tire pressure was still on. Even though I was frustrated, I didnt feel it was worth driving back when I could fill up the tires on my own the next day. The next morning, I went to fill up the low tire and noticed a nail embedded near the shoulder of the tire. Goodyear in town confirmed that it was not fixable and that I would need to replace 2 tires. On the first day of owning the vehicle. I called Landers to inform them of the situation and at first their story was that I must have picked up that nail on my drive home. I calmly and professionally called bull$#!% to which the manager said had he known about it, they would have replaced the tires but they would not have made the deal with me that they did. The price he sold the car to me would have reflected the replaced tires as he already lost $300 selling the car to me at the price he did. On this account too, I call bull$#!%. Sure not all car dealerships are shady, but have you ever heard of a charitable one? Me neither. So either theyre lazy and negligent for never having checked the tires when I asked them to (or, ya know, maybe addressing the problem before even allowing customers to look at/test drive the car), shady for checking the tires and noticing the nail and doing nothing about it, or a combination of all of the above.MORAL OF THE STORY: Even though I really like my new car, I would not buy from them again. Im young and this was my first car buying experience being completely on my own, and even though I did my research before buying, I feel taken advantage of by Landers. I checked the car and the engine, looked at its history, checked its worth on KBB, but I dont blame myself for not looking more carefully at the tire when I didnt even know which one was the problem. Im not an expert in the car arena and I dont have time to become one just to make sure Im being sold a fair product. I think that in any branch of consumerism, the buyer has to have faith that the seller is being honest because we cant all be experts in everything. My faith in this seller is lost. If youre looking to buy a used car in the Greater Memphis Area, I highly recommend you look elsewhere.

I would not recommend buying a used vehicle from here,my truck hadnt been serviced, tires also were bad in front.I purchased a used 2010 GMC Sierra with 123k miles. I noticed about 2 weeks after I purchased my truck that the rear end was making a vibration sound once I reached 55/60 mph.I had the truck inspected and it was revealed that the rear end main seal was leaking, you could clearly see the leak on the drive shaft. I Contacted the managers there on two different occasions, both were very rude azz holes. They refused to fix the problem, one manager stated that the vehicle had 123k miles on it,what would I expect. I Took my truck to have issue fixed and the technician showed me where the inner front treads were gone, they were both smooth, out side tread was great. He took a look and did a few test, truck needs lower ball joints and a driver side upper control arm plus two front new tires.I changed the oil myself and the oil hasnt been changed in a while, oil was very dark. There is no way this truck was serviced before it was put on the lot to sell. There were also a few minor issues with the truck but I want mention because I fixed myself wasnt a big expense and the truck was used.Landers doesnt stand behind their vehicles that they sell to the public, I did purchase a warranty.I personally will not ever make another purchase from Landers ever again.I purchased my truck on November 24 and I have already had to put money in it.I must say the rest of the staff was very helpful and great.

I left my vehicle per their request thinking I was getting my requested tires put on only to find out @ home they didnt have the tires in & wanted me to wait two days later & call them to see if they were in on Monday. I declined to come back for something I made an appt for days earlier. I wasnt told were sorry for our unprofessionalism nor was i offered any incentive to return.
