Pep Boys at 300 E Prater, Sparks, NV has excellent customer service and knows how to treat their customers! Even with only 2 guys working hard on a hot day, we didnt have to wait long to get new tires even without an appointment. I definitely will be back, thank you!
I got a full fluid flush here. I ran into zero problems, their customer service is great, and they feel enthusiastic about their job. It was not to expensive they got it done very quickly for the amount I made them do 10/10 would recommend. You might have to wait for them to be at full potential but its worth it
Did an oil change and inspection of the vehicle as well as rotated my tires. It took three hours, but there was only one technician and it was a same day appointment.

Had a 2:00 appointment, sent my son to have his moms tire put on and after 30 min of looking for tires was told it would BA another hour and a half. Ended up having to pay someone to do the errands he was supposed to do afterwards. No call to reschedule or say they were running so far behind and when I tried to call to speak with them no one would answer. GAVE up after 7 attempts DISCOUNT TIRE customer service is great lesson learned.
I bought my tires at the Pep Boys in Sparks. They were a competitive price and the service was excellent. All in all, I was very pleased.
I made an oil appointment for Friday THEY called and canceled and rescheduled me to Sunday 9 :30 am after waiting two hours I asked for an estimate time of it being done he said 5pm!!!! What did i make and appointment and wait 2 hours for!! Worst customer service ever. I will never come back and absolutely do not recommend! There is a really nice place called Jimmy’s on mcCarren that was able to salvage my day and help me out.

Always come here over the smaller garages. Only place in town Ive found that does FREE pressure tests of your A/C unit instead of just charging you $200 for refrigerant, and wont try to argue with you if you say you want to perform some maintenance yourself. Will also let your bring your own parts and install them at no extra cost. Never had a bad experience at this store. The manager named Brad at the garage was really helpful. I always recommend this place to friends.
Dont go there, I made an appointment for a Saturday and got a call saying there tech wasnt there that day. I Rescheduled for the following Sunday and got another phone call on Saturday after they made it for Sunday and said they werent going to be open. They really need to close out that business due to being not reliable on making Appointments that they cant keep. Went to another business.
I stopped by around 5:22pm on a weekday to ask about their synthetic oil changes, their doors were locked while staff was in the back.
Pep boys came through with an oil change and a transmission flush. Both worked perfect. My jeep is purring now.
Bought tires online, were delivered there. They dont install 22 inch tires. Didnt call after they were delivered. Didnt call for couple hours on day of install. Poor customer service. Wont be back. Then even though they got paid for install claimed they cant refund it.
5 stars for the friendly staff and tire rotation service. But they do need to improve the reservation system. Make no sense to be there early morning to secure a spot.

Just went there today to pick up some cleaning supplies for the car. My daughter and I had our products and went to the front of the store to check out. No one was there. Waited a good ten minutes with my daughter yelling “hello???” plenty of times. No one ever came. I know someone had to have heard us, she was saying it pretty loud. I finally went and found two ladies stocking in an aisle NOT FAR FROM US. I asked if one of them could ring us up. One of them looked at me and said with an attitude “He’ll ring you up in the back”I went to the back and waited another five minutes for a man to order his parts before being rung up and leaving.I would like to add that the young man in the back was very polite when ringing us up. However the wasted time I spent in there and rude staff will prevent me from ever going back.
Great guys, great prices and great service. Had a small issue with my daughters car that was a 5-minute fix and we had to be somewhere in 20 minutes. Stopped in and their service guy knew it would take just a few minutes to fix it and he just jumped in and got it done so we would not have to wait several hours. I definitely will be back. They truly understand customer service.

I have always had exceptional service at this location, but there must have been a change in management. I booked an oil change for Saturday. Was called and told they overbooked, theyd see me Sunday. Arrived for my Sunday appointment to be told they were overbooked again? And someone didnt have the decency to call me that morning and tell me, before I left from work to be there? Truly disappointing.
As a former mechanic and shop manager of 5+ years, I can say these guys do the job right. Went in for 5 tires (byo) and they were happy to help. Daniels service was astute and professional, as was the technician who serviced my vehicle. He even properly torqued all wheels. I can say without a doubt I will be coming back here for any services I cannot handle in my driveway.Thanks guys!
Ive always had a hard time finding an automotive service place that I can trust. It always seems to me like there is something shady going on. I end up feeling like I either paid to much or like the service was not as good as it should be. Let me tell you that was not the case at Pep boys. My latest service on my truck was one of the most satisfying I have ever had. And it all came down to one person, Abraham at the service desk.Ive known for quite a while that Im not the kind of customer that most service people look forward to. I asked a lot of questions and Im always looking for a discount. It didnt seem to faze Abraham in the least. He answered all of my questions and went through all the different kinds of oil changes they have, to help me decide which one I wanted. Then he helped me find a coupon to get it at a discount. Who does that? Im not from the Reno-Sparks area so I dont know how often Ill get to go to the Pep Boys on Prater but if I ever need service when Im in town I will definitely be going there.
Horrible customer service. I take my car to get fixed, then a problem arises with something else relating to what got fixed in the first place Im reporting to the BBB since this is the 4th time the car is taken there and always comes out with some other problem. They never answer the phone and cant be completely honest with me.
I bought a set of snow cables. And they broke. When I took them back to exchange the cables. The cashier told me that pep boys didnt put them on. And she will not exchange them. Then when I asked to talk to the manager. She decided to exchange them. But told me if it happened again. She would not do it again. I bought them two days before. I bought them because I thought they were heavy duty. But I think they would of lasted more than one use. I paid about 90 dollars for them. This isnt the first time I had trouble with pep boys. About 6 years ago. I had my oil changed at pep boys in lodi,Ca.. the very same place I took the cables back to. But they only put one quart of oil back in my car. And of course I didnt check the oil. When I left. But I blew my engine up and it cost me 1400 dollars to replace it with a used motor. It took me 6 years to come back to pep boys. Just to get treated like this all over again. So I have Had nothing but bad experience. With pep boys.
I went to the Prater Pep Boys with a flat tire and was told we can get you in for your flat tire in two days no sooner, I kid you not! I asked the guy at the desk, what do I do have my car towed from here? His response was an uncaring we cant get you in for two days and shrugged with an I dont care attitude. In todays day and age with everything going on if you want caring, timely customer service this is NOT the business for you.

This Pep Boys is AMAZING. Truly 100% honest! Definitely a place you can trust!!! I thought I needed to get my brakes changed, went in and they explained I had atleast half a life left on the pads and the rotors were in line and smooth!!! They inspected the car and were totally honest about not needing repair!!! Hard to find places that are real with you!! And totally professional. Highly recommend them to all!!!

Went to get my water pump changed out, one of the hoses of the coolant wasnt attached. It leaked all the coolant out before I left both of the certified mechanics acted like the hose wasnt meant to be attached. Worst customer service NO ONE GO THERE. Sabatoge at its finest
Ordered a part. It came in. They lost it. Ordered another part. Didnt work as well as the old part. Got a 20 percent discount. The older gentleman in the front was good. The rest including the manager couldnt care less. Too busy talking to each other or on the phone.

I used to like getting my cars taken care of at Pep Boys but since covid they closed the one I was going to. This specific location does not care about you just the money they dont even acknowledge you until you have waited for 10 or 15 minutes. Im very disappointed in how this business is run

They quickly assessed my car and gave me their pricing Their quote to get all 4 rotors replaced was the same price that the other shop had quoted me to do only 2. On top of that they gave me an amazing discount. So in the end they were substantially more affordable. I also appreciated that they took me out to my car and showed me the problems and gave me information so that I gained more knowledge.I was worried that I would have to leave my car there for the weekend given that it was a Saturday, but they got right to work and had my car done in about 2 hours.Oscar and Chilly were friendly and really cared about making sure I was happy. Im glad I gave them a shot and I will definitely chose this shop over others in the future.
Simply incompetent, went in for a diagnostic on my ac, diagnostic was never performed, they offered to refill my ac for 200 bucks before determining whether that was the culprit of the problem. Had to go elsewhere, don’t go there it’s a waste of time and patience.
Super helpful, prompt, and courteous. I feel like I got an incredible value for what I paid. Check these guys out for tires and oil changes. Best of all, theyre open late! Usually slower after 6pm so being your vehicle in for quick turnaround at that time for best results.

They did a front end alignment didnt evev test drive it. Then when I left it was 10 times worse than when I brought it in there. Never in all the years dealing with them its been the worst experience of my life seriously

When you make an appointment, i expect the appointment set would be good. But when you show up on time and the store is not open yet, is very frustrating. Appointment was for 7.30 am for a fleet vehicle. Website says opens at 7.30 am. Door says opens at 7.30 am. Appointment was for 7.30 am. Waste of time. Do not use this pep boys for service.
I took my Toyota truck, and spoke to OSCAR and CHIllY, right away they assisted me. They were friendly and accurate, they took the extra customer service step to get me in an out in a timely manner as I was heading to an appointment which I was able to make in time thanks to Pep boys service staff. It was probably the worst experience we have had. Its still running worse than when we brought it in. Going on 4 days and almost $700 later. Very disappointed. The employers were respectful and professional, but to charge someone that much and we drive off and it is worse than before is not acceptable. I think it was out of gas period and to charge that much money for labor is criminal
I got new tires, balancing and an alignment. Pretty affordable considering the price I paid is usually just for tires at other places. Staff was very friendly and they definitely were done within the estimated time frame 😃

We came in to have both of our vehicles serviced for new tires, alignment and oil changes. Our first greeting by the General Manager Tony was extremely pleasant and helpful. He double checked our purchases and set us up for our appointments for the afternoon. Then, Dustin Mann, the Service Manager took over throughout the rest of the day and made sure all details were followed up on as the Service Tech Allen performed the work for both vehicles. From our first greeting at noon until they completed the job at the end of the day we experienced a level of Customer Service that far surpassed what you normally see in the auto industry today. You rarely see the kind of teamwork we did when Dustin assisted Allen in cleaning up the shop while he finished with the final touches of the work.We would not hesitate to refer these three stellar employees to our friends and relatives and look forward to all future service appointments at this location of Pep Boys.Thanks again to all,Brian & Maddie
I was leaving for a trip today and noticed my headlight was out. Tried to change it myself, but too hard to get to on my vehicle. I called Pep Boys and talked with Chily in service. He said, “Bring it down.” They took me right away, even though I had to wait an hour. I was grateful. Job done and I made my trip safely. Oscar was also helpful. I’ll be back again, I know. They even consulted on my sons car in Los Angeles. Love them!

Booked an appointment online more than 24 hours in advanced. Showed up for that appointment 15 minutes early to ensure they had enough time to prepare my service order. Waited 5 minutes for someone to come to the service desk. I informed the employee that I had an appointment in 15 minutes for service on my vehicle. She stated oh my manager called you earlier. (he/she did not call me). She then stated Oh you booked online... well its a 3 hour wait for your service to be started.No call, no text, no nothing except an attitude when I arrived for my scheduled appointment.Dont waste your time, take your vehicle somewhere else.Great way to treat your customers and a wartime veteran. I had an appointment at noon today, I got there around 11:30 a.m and it took them literally 3 hours to get my oil change, air filter and my bolt changed. I dont understand what took them so long to get my car done within an hour or two. The staff was nice but their service could improve more. So instead of having your customer spend three hours waiting, maybe you all could cut that shorter because we all have other things to do. Thank you!

This is my new spot to do any sort of maintenance on my car. Everyone there is so kind and helpful. I went to do an oil change and found out I had a broken piece on the dip stick sleeve. The manager (Chilly) and his tech Oscar went above and beyond to help me get it fixed. Definitely recommend coming here!
Chilly and Oscar have helped me so much with my car in the last month and today. Its like everything decided to go wrong all at once and they took car of my oil, breaks, tires, and my radiator hose. Im so very thankful for them because while I know its their job they are very professional and straightforward about all of the issues. Theyre really great on keeping up with communication when the issue isnt an easy in and out fix.

I made an appointment to have a u-joint replaced on my pickup. When I got there, they said that the mechanic didnt realize when I made the appointment that my pickup was a diesel and he couldnt work on it because of that. At first I was mad but when I realized he didnt know that there was NO difference between a driveline u-joint on a gas pickup and a diesel pickup I was relieved they didnt work on it. He then tried to do me a favor by sending me to another mechanic who ended up being so shady I had to leave. Luckily I found an awesome shop in Sparks on Glendale Ave where everyone was honest.
Prices out ragous on tires for the price of one tire from them 190 went some were else 90 for 2 and balanced never will I return there
Chilly & Victor went above & beyond service levels, even calling in an outside mechanic who thought he might have a way to put a Band-Aid on my blown engine so I could limp it back to California. Sadly, it didn’t happen, because the other mechanic agreed with the Pep Boys mechanic that there was nothing to be done. But I very much appreciate the effort! The whole staff was friendly and sympathetic to my predicament. I’d trust them with my vehicular drama in the future. .
I called over the phone to inquire about parts and prices. An Oscar answered the phone providing more information then I expected. He explained the difference between the parts and prices and also informed me of the promotions and specials that the store was running right now. I go there all the time and no one ever told me about the discounts and sales that frequently happen. I recommend you finding Oscar when you need assistance.
We made an appointment to have an oil change made using a promo coupon sent by Pep Boys. The coupon mentioned a free tire rotation with the oil change, and we confirmed this at the beginning of the appointment. When the car was done and out of the garage, at the moment of payment we asked about how the tires were, the clerk said that they forgot to check the tires. She went out to confirm with the mechanic, and when she was back she mentioned that the tires were 7 in the back and 4 in the front, so they didnt recommend to rotate them. After we paid and left, we checked the paperwork and observed that all tires were rated at 7, so they could have been rotated. We suspect that this is a common theme at this location, especially now reading the other reviews. It is likely that they dont deem the coupon price of an oil change worthy of their time to also do the advertised free tire rotation.
I have gone to this store several times for service on my car from oil changes to having my lights fixed. Whether I call or I go into the store I am always greeted by friendly employees willing to help. I have no problem referring my friends and family to Pep Boys for all their car needs.
You need to hire more people to take care of the calls and customers that come in or call! Pepboys is losing a lot of money by not taking care of customers needs when they are there for help! I have sent a detailed email regarding another situation and hope i hear back from upper management since your store manager had no integrity when it come to errors on their part in your sparks Prater location!
I have been a resident of Sparks for approximately 34 years. I have always had good service from Pep Boys. They have always been very informative for any questions that I might have. Although I have almost never needed any major jobs done by them. And I do almost all of my oil changes and regular maintenance on my own. So I buy most of my supplies from Pep Boys.
Yes, they fixed what was wrong with my car which is why they deserved the two stars. But their service was terrible. I dropped my car off Saturday. They couldn’t fix it until Tuesday because it was a weekend and they needed a part. Acceptable. I wanted to know approx what time my car would be ready so I could plan my day. So Tuesday, I called at 8 in the morning (service opens at 7:30) and they tell me that service isn’t in yet (but why weren’t they if they open at 7:30???), and someone will call me to let me know. 3 hours later, NO ONE CALLED ME. I called and was told they didn’t have a part and they’d call me when they found out where the part was. NO ONE CALLED ME. I called an hour later. They told me my car would be ready by 3pm and they’d call when my car was ready. Guess what? NO ONE CALLED ME. It’s 6pm, so I just go there to pick it up. Of course it’s ready. But this is MY car. She’s like my baby. I deserve to know what the heck is going on with my car. If you tell me you’re going to call me back, just call me back! It takes like a minute out of your day.
Went in for a front end alignment balanced and rotated tires....and my front end alignment was worse than it was when I took it in after the 3rd adjustment I finally just gave up
They were full busy and I needed tires. They managed to squeeze me in same day and helped find a good priced tire to suit my needs. Had the experience and customer service I was hoping for. I had previous bad experiences that have been resolved now. I plan to return to purchase the other tires I need for the winter. Good job boys and keep up the pep!

Waste of money. Paid to have tires rotated and balanced and didnt even air them up. 2 hours wait with an appointment. If you are brave, watch them and dont leave your car. Spend the extra $4 and go somewhere else that you can trust.
Terrible Service. Took them 15 mins to come greet me. I had to find someone from in the Store area to find “Oscar.” The guy in the front at the register was very kind and helpful. Oscar was rude and had an attitude for no reason.Only for them to turn me away and not get an oil change. Never coming back here again or recommending it to anyone.
If I could give these guys half a star I would. We came here after noticing our valve stem had a pretty good slice in it and was leaking on our truck. These guys had one truck sitting out front with its hood up and no tech to be found. So we decide to go in and ask if they can help us out. Mind you Im not an idiot, a valve stem takes maybe 20mins to fix, and with not a second thought told us no were completely booked. We hung out and called other places to see if we could get our issue addressed and someone pulls up from California and needs a new tire on their trailer and guess what they made time for them! This place is a joke we will never come back here and recommend all of our friends and family not patronize this business.
Ive had great experiences with the Sparks Pep Boys. They have helped me bring my old 84 Ford F-150 back to life. Theres a gentlemen named Carlito, he always knows his stuff, and Im pleased he is willing to help me solve the smaller problems. This has, and will remain my go-to store for any parts, and accessories.
Needed a new car battery. Made an appointment. Got there at appointed time. Took about an hour total. No complaints.
Website said that they open at 7:30 am. Sat in the parking watching an employee walk around inside. Went to the door at 7:35 am and the door was still locked. Employee mouthed that they werent open until 8 am. I pointed to my phone and told him the website says 7:30. He opens the door and told me the website was wrong about a lot of things. No signage on the building regarding hours of operation either. I told him I would be going across the street to Oreillys, who WERE open at 7:30 like it said on their website. Asst Mgr there greeted me, showed me where to find what I needed and was on my way in minutes.
Needed an oil change and checked online. They had appointments available each hour till they closed, so I just drove down. Went inside the store to find two girls talking who seemed annoyed I interrupted their chat. They directed me to the service bay. Was told by the guy there they were booked solid and couldnt get me in till Tuesday and this was on Sunday morning. When I asked why their site showed completely open appointment slots I was told rather rudely that the site doesnt reflect reality. Guess what? The reality is I went somewhere else to get the service done and wont be back to Meh Boys Auto Parts.

I had set up an appointment online to have my oil changed. I found a Groupon deal advertising discounts for a Synthetic Oil/High Mileage. I arrived to my appointment a bit late (but the manager was kind enough to still get me in). I reaffirmed the young lady assisting me that I had a Groupon and if it would be applied to my service, and she said yes.Fast-forward 2hrs later, my car was ready for pickup. When I went to pay for my oil change, I was told my amount (the amount was MORE than what the website had for a regular Synthetic Oil/High Mileage). I asked why it was so much, and they young lady stated that the website (Groupon) had the prices wrong. Which is factually untrue, as when you click on the Groupon deal it takes you directly to the Pepboys official website. Then, she proceeded to tell me that she did give me a discount because the type of oil change for my vehicle is about $120.00, and that my car takes more than five quarts of oil. In all, I essentially paid regular price, as the Groupon was “invalid” for my vehicle.Sad to say, I will not be back. I will just stick to my dealership if I’m going to be charged essentially the same as them.

I started using this shop a few years back and had good experiences with them. I even wrote a good yelp review for them in the past. Than about 6 months ago things started going down hill. I took my car in for a break job that was supposed to take less than 45 mins and 3 hours later it was not finished.When it was done, I asked how the alignment they talked me into getting went and they said the new kid forgot to do it but than they started rushing around to setup a bay to do this on my car. 30 minutes latter the $89 they quoted me turned into more than $700 and I told them to take it down and forget it.As the kid was new as well as the service manager I just chalked it all up to a bad day with a new crew and forgot about it for the most part.Then a few days ago I took my car into pepboys to replace a bad battery. They sold me a new battery and said they had done a complete test of my car electrical system and I thought all was great until the next morning when I again had a dead battery. I took it back to them and after 3 hours they gave up and instead said a different system on my car (air, which works great) would need $2000.00 in repairs.They never figured out the issue but gave me the phone number to a business they said was great with car electrical problems. I called the number and it turns out they dont even work on cars. Wow. I arrived for my 10 AM appointment at 10:01 AM and I car was not driven into the service bay until 12:25 PM. I had my 25 month old son with me and what they needed to fix was a pressure hose to my power steering. I sat outside with my rambunctious 25 month old son and watched the macanic drive my car into the bay and go on break which is fine, however, I was told it would take only 2 hours to fix my car, but it took 3 hours. I must say that the people in this community reley on this Pepboys lots because while I waited I saw them walk out fix, or give information on the service of their vehicles.
