I was skeptic about going to this Elite Hearing Center., I had visited other Audiologist over the years and was not always satisfied. Hearing is obviously one of the greatest gifts of nature. Imagine life without sound, music, your baby’s giggling, sounds of water, bird sounds or whispering of love. We of course must from time to time take steps to maintain or heal our hearing. Fortunately there are a few gifted men and women who can help us return to a place of the magic of sound. We are lucky enough to have one of those magical beings here in the Spartanburg area. To me he is to hearing what Michael Jordan is to basketball. My companies insurance carrier, United Healthcare, sent me here for hearing aides at the Spartanburg, SC location. Best experience possible when getting hearing aides for the 1st time. Very professional staff and they kept after United Healthcare as UHC was not at all helpful to neither me nor Elite after UHC insisted this was where I was to go! (Hear that NRECA?) The hearing aids were finally approved by UHC and fitted in the Spartanburg office. Let me be clear - Elite hearing Centers was not the problem - UHC was. I want to thank Derek Baxter for his extra, caring service on Friday evening, October 9. Just before 5:00 PM my right hearing aid stopped working. Derek called me after an early evening meeting, arranged to meet me at the Spartanburg office after 7:00 PM. He quickly from the receiver had gone bad. He replaced the receiver. Associates and Fellow patients of Elite Hearing;I wish to commend and recognize employee Derek J. Baxter, H.I.S. of Spartanburg, SC. He has done a super job to help me with repairing my hearing aid. He guided me to a local hearing doctor, who was able to remove my ear wax without damaging a very fragile ear drum. I am 77 years old and have needed specialists with my ears since I was ten years old. Driving to Columbia where my usual specialist is, 100 miles is getting to be more difficult.Derek gave me a hearing test to find where I am, fixed the hearing aid and gave me partial hearing on the computer until the severe wax was removed. Then he finished adjusting the hearing aid to its correct degrees. He then adjusted the wire going into my other ear, added a safety piece and a new dome. After the cleaner ear, I still needed guidance. This man acted like he had all the time in the world to help solve ongoing problems with my ears. He reminded me I needed an MD to look further into solving continuing problems. Derek is very sharp and willing to go all out for helping his patients! Every visit is like visiting with family, and their customer service attitude is above reproach, they go out of their way to make sure your every need is met, even if it’s a mental issue while you are adjusting to your new devices they are there for you every step of the way.

I had a hint that I was facing audio difficulties when family members began informing me that i turned the TV up too Loud. Months later,I began noticing that i had to ask people to repeat things they said. Si I purchased some relatively inexpensive hearing aids on line. Voila! More volume, better hearing. Still, there was something that wasnt quite right . The sound was rather diffuse. It did not have clarity I would have liked.Then I visited several hearing centers to compare product and prices. Finally, I ended u pat Elite Hearing Center. They convinced me to take unitron on a trial. Voila ( Number two)! The sound was so clear. It was as if all the voices i heard ( in person, on media at lectures, etc.) suddenly had greatly improved diction. I was sold!! Now I have volume and clarity. I am now hearing better than I have heard in quite some time.

After trying three times at other places, I went to Elite Hearing to finally decide if I needed help with my hearing. The staff there was polite, knowledgeable, thorough, and extremely helpful.I was first checked to be sure it wasnt wax (my ears were clean, and who wouldnt wash their ears before a test!). Then a hearing test was performed, measurements were taken to determine the right style of hearing aid for me. A thirty day trial was then offered; I wore them for a week and decided to buy them!My family, friends and relatives and sales people all celebrated!I absolutely cannot praise them enough.
