Excellent experience, great customer service, unlike the fancy chain store next door. Will definitely buy from them again.
I do not leave bad reviews normally, but this was a very unimpressive experience. Prices are TERRIBLE compared to the stores in my area(about an hour away). Took forever to get a quote on selling a firearm(after initially being told the one guy who buys in firearms had left for the day[why have employees in that you do not trust to purchase in firearms?]). Took forever to get sights installed on my new pistol. Ultimately, the only thing saving them is the concept that they had the firearm I was looking for.2/10, certainly wont be going back. I will just order through my local shops or use Eagle Armory in Springfield; they are cheaper, more intelligible, and friendlier. As others have stated, Anchor Tactical is overpriced. This is a fact. Maybe your customers get great service? My empirical evidence shows that I certainly did not, which is what warranted the bad review.***was going through updating some reviews, and deleted instead of edited. Had to retype my poor experience. Havent been in since my disastrous visit awhile back, and plan to keep it that way.
Good gun store with lots of options from Sig. They also carry Sons of Liberty Gun Works rifles which is one of the main reasons I go there. But the biggest reason I go there is because the staff is extremely helpful. It’s great that they sell guns but the professionalism and knowledge of the staff will make or break a business. When you go in, make sure your speak with Colin, Kyle, or Eric and they will take care of you. Lastly, when guns are hard to find they don’t raise their prices to take advantage of others. I respect that. Nice to see some integrity out there.
Staff is not friendly or welcoming upon entering store. Seemed more worried about drinking coffee than helping customers. I purchased AR lower parts kit for a build. Got home to start working on assembly and recognized parts kit was missing three items. Went to store to explain situation and was treated like I was trying to rip them off. They explained there was no way that they would switch out the lacking parts kit for a complete kit that I had paid for. They Attempted to see if they had an extra with the gunsmith which they did not. Was told I could purchase a magazine release assembly by itself but would have to pay for the item despite having already paid full price for the complete lower kit. Clearly the only one trying to shaft someone in this situation was the store. I will take my business elsewhere. Poor customer service.
Good store with plenty of good stuff. Good selection on firearms as well. Staff is pretty friendly and knowledgeable.
I needed some two-way radio accessories and some Streamlight flashlight products. Very helpful and had exactly what I needed.
Great service and friendly staff. They had just what I needed and many more options to choose from. Their prices were fair and their products were quality. 10/10 would shop again.
I purchased a firearm through an online broker site from Anchor Tactical and the initial transaction went smoothly and all communications were fast, responsive, and straight forward. I would definitely do business with them again! For those who read long reviews - My online purchase was going smoothly until FedEx entered the equation. Everything was moving, we had a tracking number, package was making its way from MO to VA, and I was eagerly anticipating delivery to my FFL. Then all of a sudden the firearm disappeared somewhere at the FedEx facility in NC!?! To Sam and Erics credit they stay engaged with FedEx for two weeks and we finally called it as it appeared the firearm would not be recovered and FedEx was less than interested in taking the issue on despite them losing a firearm in their possession! Anyway, Sam Hartley deserves much credit for being responsive to my emails and phone calls throughout this process. As a consumer, I appreciate good customer service and a appreciate even more a merchant who is willing to make it right eventhough in this situation it was due to no fault of theirs.
Man with glasses at the back counter decided to give me large amounts of flak for looking into a Luger firearm instead of a Glock, laughed at me and was very rude. I will NEVER return. Unbelievable
Super nice folks- if you need tactical supplies- or hunting supplies- this is the place for you- theyve got a little of everything- stop In and say hi
They judged me off my dd214. I was discharged with a chapter 14-12c (misconduct) general discharge under honorable conditions. They saw the entirety of my discharge and made judgments they are obviously not fit to make. I dont qualify for the blue label program? but i qualify for every other thing ive applied for with my earnings. Even a va home loan. Seems personal to me.Their professionalism is absent and they arent for the customer. There selection is nice. Too bad they lost my business.EditI just was approved on my blue label at another shop in spfd. Anchor tactical is the only establishment that says my 3 years in the army means nothing. So imo if you dont want to be judged off what you look like or your past because of paperwork go somewhere else. These guys arent professionals
Great selection of items. Prices were expensive, not ridiculously high, but decently above other stores. Staff was horrible. Never acknowledged us when we were the only customers in the store. When I asked a question to one of the employees, he was quite rude. Would have to pay me to set foot back in this place. The kid behind the counter was arrogant and snobby. I browsed some other reviews and it appears as I am definitely not the only person that had this same experience. You obviously havent learned Anchor.
Everything on their end went smoothly. I respect how well they know their inventory.
The Guys at Anchor Tactical Supply are a Bunch of Great Guys. They Will Do Anything to Help You Find what Your Looking for. I Just Wish that When You Order a Weapon that it Would Get There on Time. I Was Told 3 Weeks, and It’s Been 2 Months. But They Can’t Control The Manufacturing Company and How Quick that They Get The Product Out. But now they have told me that it will be more like 3 months before I will receive my Weapon. I still give them three thumbs up 👍👍👍.Got my new Sub 2000 today after waiting for 3 months. I was told when buying this weapon that it would only take 3 weeks. Just wanting a sale. Had to have been a new guy because they have never treated me like this before. I still think they are great but they have some problems. Still three thumbs up 👍👍👍
This store has an excellent selection from guns to apparel and everything in between. And great service. A good employee by the name of Brian P. outdid himself in helping me from start to finish. Brain being a badass exquisite breed of a mans man, gave highly intelligent help and exceptional service. This store is of a male species dream absolutely Awesome! (And Women) everything is of top quality.
Browsed the store for 30 minutes and not a single employee greeted me, offered assistance or even acknowledged my presence.
Cool store. A lot of Sig Sauer guns, AR build parts, new and used firearms. And one of the few places to find ammo recently.
Went in to look for a holster, it was my first time there. The employee who checked my firearm to make sure it was clear, did not respectfully or properly handle my firearm and dry fired my firearm. Then proceeded with a rude attitude when asked questions about which kind of holsters they carried. Also followed around the store then, quickly grabbed holster after i was done looking at it as if we were going to steal it then continued to follow to front of store and asked if we were going to buy it after we put it up. Overall experience was unpleasant.
Great group of folks with knowledge of products and more than willing to help. Great selection with fair pricing. My go to shop in the Springfield area.
My daughter and I were just at anchor tactical literally 14 minutes ago. We were the only people in the store I went there to purchase a item that they had in stock no one even acknowledged that we were there. Apparently in that store you have to go to the counter where three employees are talking just to ask if they are a store or just a museum and nothing is for sale. Piss poor service I will never go back even if they are handing out free items upon entry. Maybe there’s a reason they have more inventory than anyone else in town.
Anchor is an authorized Streamlight flashlight repair center. I brought a flashlight in for service and they (thanks Dave!) were able to repair it while I waited! They have a an extensive selection of gear, guns, and accessories.
Second time in and bought a firearm. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Store carries wide selection of gear and clothing, as well as firearms.
If you’re buying from this store I promise you’re over paying. Firearms are literally twice to what you’d pay online. Go to Bass Pro if you would like to see how they feel in your hands, than order online. These people are just taking advantage of people.
I wanted a gun I bought a gun...no big deal..... Now for the 5 star, Brian P. I had to ask his name, was talking to a older lady who was ready to buy and he talked to her and gave her info but suggested she try different guns at a shop with rentals to see what she really wanted. Above average but still not 5 star. Next she mentions her husband has passed and she has some guns and asked if they would trade. He advised they do but she needed to look on gun broker for basic values so she knows what she is dealing with. I’ve seen so many widows get ripped off in this situation but Brian truelly did everything he could to protect her even when easy money was on the table. And that is how you get 5 stars from me.
This place is very snobbish. This is the second time I’ve been in there thinking they would be different but no, they weren’t. No one asked if I needed help or even greeted me. I’m disgusted!!! Maybe it’s because I’m MEXICAN! Well brown lives matter too! SMDH!
My son is a Springfield police officer. He needed a new hand gun. They treated him with respect and took very good care of him. I highly recommend this store!!! Thank you for taking care of my son!!!Chuck Overton
Great experience! This was a great shopping experience and I will definitely come back. They have a huge selection of tactical gear, not just guns.
The staff at Anchor tactical are awesome. They are knowledgeable, they listen to your needs, and offer up solutions that will fit your scenario. They also purchase firearms as well, and were extremely fair with me.Absolutely recommend if you have a firearm purchase to make or need to offload a safe queen to fund something else.
Had what I wanted...
I work for a security company and go there quite frequently. Every time I go, it takes forever for somebody to acknowledge I am there. When I get somepne they have no idea what their doing. Needs better customer service.
This is usually a good store. I walked in looking for a belt. Three employees talking at the counter. One says, “How are you doing?”, Nobody ask, Can I help you find something?”A lady walks in right behind me and it was, “Can I help you find something?...first thing. Why?
If I could give no stars I would! We went here looking at vest and a holster. It was my husband, my brother, my son, and myself. We were treated like criminals in my opinion, and I will never go back to this store. We were all wearing our mask in result to the Covid-19. My son was wearing an american flag shirt, my husband was wearing a shirt with a flag on it as well as his military hat because he recently finished 13 years in the military, and I was wearing an american flag shirt that had a cross on it and a soldier. The mask we were wearing were a camo one, polka dots, my son had a cars one, and a St. Louis Cardinals mask. The employee Dave pulled my brother who is also a veteran to the side and told us that we were not allowed to be wearing our mask in the building because of criminal activity and gangs in the area. We were told we could not stay in the store unless we took our mask off exposing us and going against the CDC guidelines for being out in public. I have a medical condition and in result to that we wear mask at all times while being in public. We later went to other tactical stores as well as ammo stores, and no one else in the area had a problem with us being in their store with our mask on. I would go anywhere but here. All about Guns treated us with respect and understanding as well Eagle Tactical. I could not believe the way we were treated by this company. It is beyond a disgrace to my brother as well as my husband who have served our country! Treated us like we were going to rob the place or cause problems when last time I checked Springfield is peaceful with all the protesting. Also there was nothing posted on the door in regards to wearing mask in the building. If you are going to expose your customer against the Covid-19 by not allowing them to follow the guidelines put into place by the CDC you should consider closing your doors temporary!
Good selection. Customer service ranks among the worst of any gear shop I have ever visited. I was at the counter for five minutes without being helped, wandered the store, and waited another five minutes before an employee stopped talking and decided to help me. When I did get service it felt like I was an unwelcome guest in someones home. The employee who helped me had a sub par level of knowledge, yet still came across as condescending. I asked for a quote on a shotgun I am shopping around for but did not get it- he seemed more interested in getting me out the door than possibly making a sale. I got better service at CIF when I was in the military than I did here. Prices are fair. There is plenty of parking and the store is clean.
Very uncomfortable customer service experience. Offered very low trade value. Felt like they were trying to rob me.
It has changed to Anchor Tactical Supply due to the retirement of Mr. Kelley. Enjoy your retirement. The new location is much better than the old and my opinion. They have a nice size section for clothing and other accessories. A section for firearms, holsters, ammunition, and others. It is the same friendly staff from the old location and much brighter building. Displays seem to be set up a little better now and it appears as if they have expanded their selection by a decent amount.
Never one to write a bad review. Especially about Anchor. Always been happy to spend my money there and always loved the staff. However, there was new employee there today that immediately started laughing at my EDC bag. I came in for a holster but he left me in the middle of helping me to go talk to his friend. I still considered buying a holster from them in which they would’ve had to order. However, after talking to this employee for two more minutes changed my mind. Seemed to know quite a bit about guns but not about selling or customer service. Very disappointed and a poor enough experience to take my money elsewhere.Re: The owner personally called me on this subject which is not known of a lot of other owners. Much appreciated.
I am a competitor of sorts owning a gun shop in a small neighboring town. A customer wanted pepper spray that i do not stock. Called and spoke with Colin. He was friendly, informative and the price was very reasonable for a specialty item. I was quite impressed, and although i obviously wish customers would shop here, i sincerely hope they also consider this store.
Great staff. Very knowledgeable. Friendly. Amazing prices
Far more helpful than Bass Pro and they had everything I was looking for. Polite staff and amazing selection of apparel, gear and equipment. Definitely returning
Great selection of tactical and firearms supplies... decent pricing also... pleasant, knowledgeable staff, too...only reason I didnt give five stars is that I always am overwhelmed by the variety and quality of the merchandise, so have to leave before I finish with my browse...
As a retired law enforcement officer that place made me feel like a kid in a candy store. However the staff there have the worst attitude....I put that nicely as I could.
Awesome service. I had lots of questions that were expertly addressed. Highly recommended.
Not one to be negative, but my last 3-4 trips to this new store/new owner/new young inexperienced staff have not been on the positive side. I wish them the best, but lets just say this “long time” customer will choose to spend his $$ else where.
Ok they have a lot of cop gear. That being said, you dont have to be a cop to buy most of what they stock and there is a great taco wagon out front. What could be better then guns and tacos?
I stopped in today just to look at some stuff for future purchases. The staff was absolutely amazing. I dont know how many times I have gone in to a store and been blown off by the staff because I wasnt buying right then. These guys are not that way. They were extremely helpful.
Good guys! They have about every holster in the world, more than any other around this area. Super friendly, and very helpful! I went in there clueless about something, and walked out an expert on the matter! The prices are very comparable, to others in the area... I guess you could go online and buy from some dude selling gear out of his garage, and then run risk, and pay for shipping! I like being educated on the products I buy, plus I walk out the door with it! No waiting! Will definitely be a returning customer.
Guys are always nice and helpful. Really enjoy coming in when we are on Springfield.
I purchased a gun here that they did not honor their price on the sticker of the gun in the display case.
I was looking for a pouch for my bluetooth, I found one for a great price and was roomy enough for it! LOTS of tactical supplies, employees are very helpful and knowledgeable.
Being a former police officer I know these types of stores. Either you are a regular and they are friendly or your new and they are quick to watch you, but not quick to come out behind the counter and actually help you. Its the reason most places like this dont grow, but its just the culture. No cry no foul.
Always been the best place in town, but now as Anchor Tactical, its a whole new angle of best around
Friendly service they had what I wanted Great for all Tactical Needs
Kelly’s updated store, which is bigger and has more variety than the last location. Support the local shops, especially since they offer the Blue Line Discount.
Friendly staff, always offering to help, hopefully going to buy a gun from them in the near future
Very much a continuation of my positive experiences with Kelly/Anchor Tactical. Seems like new management is very committed to providing more products along with maintaining and enhancing their already premium service.
Great store professional staff would recommend this store for all your fire/police/security & EMS needs.
This place ia great for having stuff you need. In stock. On the other hand if you go in wearing your work closr, dont expect to get the friendliest service.
Informative workers
Great staff. Very friendly and helpful. Whether Im buying or dreaming, they are there with expert advice.
Great professional and friendly staff. I hope to continue getting my firearms through them.
They moved to a new store on Campbell Ave. just South of Arbys on the east side It is Anchor Tactical Supplies. Nice location frendly helpful staff. Have pretty decent inventory in store. Probably go back again.
First time in. They have everything you would want. It seemed a little pricey. However, it is important to note that I am not from the area and dont know the market.
My son is a police officer and his birthday was in November didnt know what I was going to get him So I got him a gift certificate there If police work is your bag this is definitely a very cool store.
Much better now that it is Anchor Tactical. Good selection. Locally owned.
A great place to purchase self defense equipment. All the things you can imagine.
I brought my streamlight TLR-4 In for repairs and spoke to Daniel. I called after 4 days and was told the flashlight was sent to the factory for repairs. Three days later Daniel called and said the flashlight was repaired and ready for pickup. The left side of the clamp had broken. Streamlight replaced the frame with a new one. There was no charge. Super service by Anchor Tactical Supply and Streamlight. Will definitely do business with again.
Good selection good folks
*** Long story short: Prepare to be followed, stared down, creeped out, and treated like garbage, but dont expect assistance, even if you ask directly. ***I experienced firsthand the type of customer service described by another Local Guide (quoted at bottom) and it was very off-putting at best.I dont know how ANYONE becomes a regular here, seeing how I was treated. And I was WITH a regular.I told my friend that as we left, and he said, Yeah, I shouldve warned you but thought since you came in with me theyd be fine. It just comes with the territory.Isnt part of that territory keeping the business afloat?Local Guide Troy McInnis: Either you are a regular and they are friendly or your [sic] new and they are quick to watch you, but not quick to come out behind the counter and actually help you.
Always helpful and know their product well.
If you need great quality well priced tactical gear they are your store.
Great store. excellent customer service.
Always good products and great customer service. I’m very happy with the new location and larger firearms selection.
I would advise Security personnel and other law abiding citizens to go and check out anchor tactical supply to purchase the best gears that you would like for your personal needs or for work purposes.
A bunch of tacti-bros who were too concerned with cussing at each other and being ready to operate at a moments notice to bother helping a potential new customer looking to make a considerable purchase. Ill stick with Brownells. Cheaper and less judgemental.
This is place is awesome. Everything I need for work, and prices that are way below what our uniform retailer offers. Will always go to Anchor (Kellys) Tactical.
Love the place, be sure to stop in and see TactiChris for all your mission accomplishment needs!!
Went into this store to buy a very pricey gift for my wife the guys working were very rude and after looking around i realized bass pro of all places was cheaper. ill never go back and i wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. To the owner of that store teach your employees some manners.
I came in looking for a lady hand appendix holster for my Sig. They took the time to check all of their stock, made recommendations and was finally able to find me something that worked for me. This is my first holster, Ill be back for more things as needed. They did very well by me and mine.
Great selection and great customer service
Good guys, great service, good selection, high prices.
Super friendly and helpful. I was in there looking for a piece for a costume and they helped me find exactly what I needed.
Great place for all your needs. Had the answers I needed.
Went in for some 5.11 defender flex tactical jeans had exactly what I need plus a wide selection of other 5.11 products. Love this store!
Good place to get your Footwear if youre hard on your shoes or boots
Pretty dismal customer service. Was thinking about trying a Sig silencer, but couldn’t get any help from anyone. Went to my regular shop and bought an obsidian.Edit: Did I ask anyone for help? No, I wait for help to rain from the sky. What kind of question is that? Your reply confirms my original review. On an unrelated note, I went yesterday (Sunday) to give you a second chance. Closed. Grabagun got my money for a ruger 17hmr. Not you.
Situation normal with these guys. Always attentive and generally have at least one of what I am looking for.
They are friendly and will take their time to explain their products. Like this place
BUYER BEWARE! They say you can return a purchase but you really cant.I purchased a Magpul stock for a AR-15 as a gift and asked Jay the salesman if I could return it if it did not work out. He said yes and gave me a special receipt saying I could return it and get my money back no problem. A week later I went back to return it because I found the same item significantly cheaper somewhere else. They would not let me return it because I paid with a debt card and they could not give me cash back or do a charge back on a debt card. Jay the salesman was scared of the owner and said he would loose his job if he gave me cash back on a debt card purchase. I dont really see the problem other stores give cash back on debt card returns.Shop around and dont purchase at the high prices of Kellys Police and Tactical Supply.
Fair pricing and a super helpful staff.
Very friendly and extremely helpful for all your tactical needs.
Good selection of Streamlight products and parts for them. Decent prices too on a lot of the stuff. Not overly impressed with the theory that if you dont carry a Glock you dont know what youre doing. Just not a Glock fanboy, sorry.
Good prices and very knowledgeable staff.
Only visited once so far, but Ill be back. Excellent, knowledgeable service with no rush and no high pressure sales. Prices were below MSRP for items I checked, and brands sold (e.g.Plano cases)were ones I know as good quality. Once I buy a gun, I will bump my rating if it goes well.
Great selection and prices. Just wish they were open longer.
They have always been very good about customer service and seems to genuinely care about those that frequent their wares
Very knowledgeable staff with a certified Glock armorer in store. Great selection and very well kept space.
They moved to a bigger location and now have a bigger selection of the great products!
