I was confronted by two different staff on four different occasions throughout one trip at this store because of my service dog. One was male either assistant manager or manager and another was a woman who was stocking the shelves, the weekend of the fourth. They did not know what the ADA laws were and continuously told me I was not allowed to have my certified and 100% legal service dog in the store (I take her everywhere). They said even though she was a service dog it violated health codes, which just isnt true. Then they said she had to be labelled as a service dog, which is also not the case. I am legally protected by the ADA to not have to label my dog therefore marking me as a disabled person. They both spoke to me extremely condescendingly, the woman said for educational purposes she was informing me of these things, even though she was wrong. When she failed to find the rules that said my dog had to have a vest, she said she couldnt find the literature (because it does not exist, this is not a real rule). I was in tears throughout the multiple times they confronted me and the last time when they came together I expected an apology, as any quick google search shows they were not accurate in telling me that for some reason my dog and I werent allowed. The man was incredibly rude, instructing me to listen to him and repeatedly talking down to me when they were both in the wrong. My service dog is a medical necessity and she goes everywhere with me, I normally choose for her not to wear a vest as we are both more comfortable this way. I have NEVER experienced anything like this by employees at a store that I am supporting or anyone at all. I wish I had the names of the employees who violated the ADA federal laws, but I was so shaken up by the experience I just wanted to leave the store as soon as possible. I am going to try to contact the store further or get information to identify these two staff members, as I sincerely do not want anyone else to have to experience something like this. There are no excuses for how these employees behaved throughout the time I was in the store and even after realizing they were wrong, that they continually scolded me like a child and did not apologize to someone simply shopping at their store with a perfectly behaved service animal. I was so disappointed because I know people frequent this grocery store in steamboat and the woman checking me out also pointed out how rude they were. I do not think this is natural grocers fault, but this experience was so ridiculous I am not sure how people who would treat someone this way, clearly in opposition to ADA laws, can be working at the store and harassing customers spending a lot of money this way. If these people continue to work here it is not a store suitable for individuals with disabilities to shop at. The employees who did this and the store as a whole should be completely ashamed of the behavior that was allowed to take place. 0 stars.

Great selection of healthy foods. Whether you are eating a plant based diet or an intentional meat diet, you can find the ingredients you need for a delicious dinner. The bulk section is fantastic and the produce is always on point. They also have a great selection of body care products and home goods.

I go to this Natural Grocers when Im in Steamboat. The people that work there are seemingly pretty happy and helpful. I love that its clean and has all the things that I want in terms of organic and fresh produce and healthy Meats.

House in the old city-market circa 1988, the Natural Grocers has a prime location downtown. Selections are outstanding, staff friendly, shopping experience delightful. Only complaint is their prices, but guess that is the cost of bringing quality items to the shelves 3 hours from Denver.

So happy to have a grocery store down town. Even though they are a chain, they deliver a personal touch. Easy, convenient, variety of food items. Parking lot is tricky. Be careful coming in and backing out.

Hire people who are actually pleasant. Young dude with an attitude glares at you if he knows you are not from here and clean cut professional, stickers glare like you are from Mars. Would it hurt to act like you appreciate customers, accept pleasantries, and not be gruff? Ill avoid the place if you cant hire more friendly people.

There appears to be a streak of negativity running through this store lately. The staff seem miserable and I have had several experiences with staff being passive aggressively rude when items need to be returned. My wife, who shops separately has noticed the same thing. Hopefully the mood changes there, as shopping other places is not preferable, but is starting to be.

They have an isle of just chocolates that Ive not tried before and theyre all good. Clean and very organized. Tasty beef jerky selection. Lots of organic and natural stuff. Complimentary lotion and hand sanitizers at every registry.

Really refreshing when you get the best food for cheaper. Not just shopping but the feel of the the place was great. Even have a hang out room to relax while your buddy is shopping too much. 😊. A lot of suppliments for EVERYTHING.

Nice staff, surprisingly good prices on a lot of stuff (eggs, dry goods, treats, frozen foods). This is a real treat for people who live downtown.Now that Bamboo Market is gone, and since Safeway and City Market only do partial service for organic/small market services, Natural Grocers really only suffers from a crappy parking situation. Beware when backing up!

Prices are a bit on the high side in Steamboat Springs, but I expected that. Ive been to other locations that are not so touristy that have more reasonable pricing. This was a nice store though.

Im not a fan of the organic movement. Half the store is pills and a bunch of them were reported to not have what they say. All of the food is good, but really expensive. The only good deal is the water jug refills.
