I been looking for a trustworthy shop for awhile. I finally found it, T was very professional and addressed all my concerns. Took my car in for front end noise, as I suspected it was a bearing. T took it for a test drive and also was listening for other issues. He was detailed in the process and notified me of the repairs needed after the inspection. It ended up to be a bad bearing and also he found additional items that had to be addressed.Worked in a timely manner and the price is very fair!

If you are looking for honesty this is NOT the place! A 75 year old lady has been a customer with them for years. They bought her car off her and pretty much stole it from her. Gave her only $300 because her window didnt work....turned around and tried to sell it to me for $3k until I told them I knew what they did to the lady and they then told me it wasnt for sale and hushed me out the door. Terrible people. Stay away. Only could imagine what else they are telling people is wrong with their cars. Call it business all you want...thats not how you treat people, especially patrons.

I came in for a rattling sound coming from underneath of my car. The shop owner and the mechanics took a look at it and found it was the heat shield, they were able to re secure it in less than 15 minutes! This shop always has great customer service and explain any questions you have.

My go to spot for everything car related, all the staff are trustworthy and absolutely amazing. It’s hard to find an amazing mechanic that treats you like family.

We had no choice but to take our car into this shop. The staff was friendly and they got the work done in a timely manner, but they really stuck us when it came to the bill. 2 days after we got the car back, we had to have it towed to our regular shop because all of a sudden it wouldn’t start anymore. After we had the work completed to fix it, again, our regular mechanic told us he would have charged us half as much for the repair as Mak’s did.

T, the owner I dealt with is extremely knowledgeable about fixing cars, he walked me around under the car showing me the new shocks and struts and such he installed and the rusty, busted ones for comparison. He carries quality synthetic oil so I wont need to bring my own like I did to Jiffy Lube. His prices are very reasonable for all the work I had done. I will be going back there.4/11/18 - I went back to Maks to get the oil changed and T inspected everything and found my brakes were thin and my bearings needed replacing. He showed me all the worn parts. It is good to know my car is in good shape now.

While driving around Streamwood my vans radiator sprung a leak and began overheating. I wasnt familiar with Maks Auto at the time, but needed a close repair shop ASAP.I really lucked out. The service was fast with reasonable prices. They took the trouble to show me where the leak was on my radiator, within 20 minutes of arrival. The radiator needed to be replaced but the parts and labor were a fair price.Ill definitely use Maks Auto again for maintenance in the future. These guys are new to the area, but they run a good shop.

Im happy to say that I had a very positive experience when I took our minivan to Maks Auto Repair and worked with Mr. Tarang T to investigate a charging issue. Rather then just replacing the malfunctioning alternator, he went through, found, and cleaned up significant ground corrosion issues which most likely caused the alternator to fail. I was very satisfied that Mr. Tarang resolved not only the issue, but also the underlying cause of the issue and at a very reasonable price (I called a few shops to get price comparisons and Maks was the most competitive).

I recently went by because there was a loud scraping sound under my tires. Brake pads and roters were replaced within three days.Throughout, the owner communicated the progress on my car, and gave accurate estimates along the way. After, he made sure to look for any discounts on the parts and service. Tarang also made sue to show me exactly what had been making the noise in my car, and why the parts needed to be replaced.Super friendly service and staff. I go here for my oil change as well and its always really quick and efficient.I have never had any problems with this facility, and strongly recommend!

Great service, hospitable employees, waiting area, free coffee, free parking including handicap parking. All bays were full and I needed all four tires checked because the low tire light wouldnt go off, but the employee raised the car higher and pulled my car underneath it and then he checked and filled my tires pro Bono!

I had a horrible experience with this place and its owners. Must say first that they did provide acceptable or above average service in my initial encounters but that did not last. Last summer my car was in that shop for over a week and while they tried to fix it, they broke it more and I had to pay for their entire miss up! It was my experience that they were enjoying ripping me off every time I took it to them and the main auto mechanic and brother of the owner Tarang was admitting that they were making good money form that car! They charged me $1000 and for a problem that was not fixed at the end after one week and the engine light was still on. his excuse was so silly that the car was old and has very high mileage! they knew it was old and they should have said that from the beginning. Was very unprofessional and lousy job and I was planning to take them to court. I reported them to the better business bureau. Never again!

I had terrible experience with Maks Auto Repair. When I went there, they estimated $365 & very next day they charged $705 after repair including extra/hidden charges. Thief Company, the worst customer satisfaction & not finishing work on promised time. Ill never go there again for sure.

Professional and Honest -Best combination. Mr. Tarang T was very professional and courteous. I drove from North Carolina and had some issues with my van. He was detailed in checking and explaining in what is going on. First thing he inquired if I had a recent tune up. If not so then he would concentrate on that otherwise go for EGR valve and other possible scenarios. Fortunately or unfortunately, tube up as way over due. He made recommendation and worked on approval. He tested again all commuter codes then drove the van just to be sure. I was impressed with his thoroughness and professionalism. If I live in Schaumburg, Im definitely his life time client. Thank you Mr. T.

My 35 years living in US, I have never come across more honest auto shop than Maks auto. This location is one of the two family owned shops ran by Tarang (T) who treats every customer as THE most valued. My wife and I own three luxury automobiles, historically we went to dealership for everything until one of my best friends recommended Maks auto 7 years ago. Since then I have not trusted anyone else. Basis of Ts business philosophy comes from his family values that suggests, one should earn living with honesty. Ts auto mechanics come with different ethnic backgrounds and posses various degrees of expertise. The mechanics are trained to care for customers cars like they care for their moms car. They never recommend customers to swap out a good part or suggest unnecessary expenses. Best of all this shop follows all the safety protocols adopted by luxury auto dealerships. One example is they have adopted four eye review with all their work. The Four Eye Review ensures the work done by an auto mechanic is right the first time. In addition to my 3 luxury cars, i also bring my daughters vehicles to this shop whenever possible. I recommend this shop to anyone looking for an honest, friendly, reliable auto mechanic shop.

[Ironically, I believe I was in the office as Paresh D (commented below) was on the phone with the manager voicing his concerns about his experience because the manager did a lot of back peddling during the conversation].We pushed my highschoolers car into the lot yesterday afternoon because the starter broke. I got quoted $110 for them to look at it, and an additional $180 for them to use a diagnostic tool to further their investigation. This was before they fixed anything. They have to rent the diagnostic tool from another mechanic and they have to pass along the charge to me. But, whatever the diagnosis is and I decide to have them do the work, they will waive the $110. I said okay because replacing a starter is Lincoln Tech 101, easy. I went by the next day to check on their progress and the car wasnt in the garage. When I asked why they havent looked at it yet, the managers answers were so unprofessional that I decided to get the car out of there. When I asked for the keys back the manager paused, when I asked for them again, his reply was so unprofessional, that I had to raise my voice. Then he gave me the keys and said I owed him $35 for storage fee of the car that was supposed to be getting fixed. I called a tow truck to take it to a different shop 30miles away that fixed my other Highschoolers car several times. The manager is dishonest and do not expect piece of mind for your car at a shop like this.Googles search engine should drop this company out of its mechanics in streamwood results.Bottom Line- its worth it to tow your car to a shop you can trust, is upfront, clean, and doesnt have hidden costs. Sidestep Maks Auto Repair.

I told him you give me an appointment thats why I come on your time.. its ok I can come other time. He just told you r educated do you know this people waiting seen a long .I have small shop . I dont care what anyone else thinks. Maks Auto saved me over $2,000. My previous mechanic was trying to rip me off and T from Maks Auto literally saved me over $1,500. And then saved another several hundred with my wifes car. He also informed us that our previously trusted mechanic ripped us off by stealing her catalytic converter and rewired her exhaust, so she can pass emissions but wont be able to sale her car honestly.

HORRIBLE! Ok so i rarely write reviews. But this is such a bad shop that i absolute had to write one. This is a small shop that recently opened. I decided to stop by and see how much it would be to change my brake pads. I had them and just needed them changed all around, so front and back. They told me it would be $240!!!!!!!!!! i double checked to make sure they werent kidding. The customer next to me just walked out when he hear that lol. When i told him no way he was very rude about it. and made it seem like he was doing me a favor. Hahaha. This has got to be THE WORST and MOST EXPENSIVE shop i have ever been too, and ive been to a bunch. This is a job that takes 30 MINS!!! and they wanted $240 for a 30 min job. Other places charge like half that at most. I wish i could rate them worse but sadly one star is the highest. If this was a shop that worked on Ferraris then i would kinda understand, but this is a small newly opened shop. There are A BUNCH of other shops in the area, and if you are reading this review please please please, avoid these crooks and never ever go hear. Thanks. and your welcome.
