Went to the drive through & was greeted by sandy, who had a rude tone from the start. the ice cream i received was not java chip & was completely melted. not the best service but the sandwich was good

Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream and Sandwich Cafe on Old Trolley Road in Summerville is a great place to go for a quality burger or sandwich or a cold after a long day. I really like the location here when you are in this area of town and are hungry. They have been consistent in their quality throughout the years and I have had a good experience every time I have come here.

I have been going here almost my entire life. Best ice cream in town. Everything here is great... The BLT is huge, the fries are awesome, the hamburgers are delicious. We used to pack in to the booths after every Friday night game and hang out all night. It remains to be a very popular local spot. If you grew up in Summerville, theres almost a guarantee that youll see someone you know. ♥️👍😁

Could use a deep clean. Walls have food on them. Woodwork of the booths are black with built-up body oils. Makes me think theyre not concerned with cleanliness in any area, like food prep. Ugh!

Food was very good! I had the BLT and my son had the Jr Hamburger. Both dishes were a very nice proportion of food. Of course the ice cream is always good here. I knocked off a star because the server forgot my order of fries, then forgot the ice cream order. For that we had to go to the counter and show my receipt just to get it, which I thought was odd.

Leauclra is amazing I called in a large order on a Friday night September 10th. She not on readb it back on the phone but then took the time when I arrived to ensure it was correct. She noticed an error and she made sure to fix it prior to me leaving. Her customer service is amazing and she is so friendly. This is great to see in younger people.

A visit into the past, this restaurant is like a place visited by teens in the 50s and 60s. A great variety of menu items. In conversation with a few of fellow patrons, I find that one cant go wrong with any of the food. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Three items was all it was! They got two wrong. Not a good average. Another thing, I was never offered a receipt. Footlong dog was dresses wrong. Left off the pickles. They gave a coke not a diet coke as I mentioned twice at the window when ordering. Just my opinion

The food and ice cream are outstanding, however expect a 10+ minute wait for any orders, even ice creams. Worth the wait though if youre not in a rush.. Small parking lot off VERY busy Old Trolley Rd makes turning in and out of this establishment very hard at times.

What a great place to get a blast from the past. The ice cream is perfect and the old style burger joint is great. The best part for most is the drive thru experience. You can order ahead or place your order and they will come to your car.

A nice young lady of color took our order. It seem like she was new. We ordered $55.47 of food. Instead of the other kids stop and help her get our order out. They stood in a group and one said their food is going to be cold and spoke about going to a Christian college.My family is also of color. I wasn’t going to say anything until we went to go get our ice cream. Once again they where grouped up talking with their back to us. And when I ask for service the young lady got upset cause I said something about them talking. She made our ice cream put it in a bag. If I didn’t grab the bag fast enough the ice cream would have fell. They when I asked to speak to a manager it was a kid. She was polite and did the basic apology that you learn in fast food.

They are so fast. There is always a long line at the take out window. And they get served quickly.

2nd time I called in my order during my lunch break and they didnt ask me enough questions about what I wanted so when I got there nothing was made for me. If I had enough time to wait for it to be cooked I wouldnt have called it in. Had to go without lunch both times.

Every time I am in town, I have to get a scoop of chocolate peanut butter ice cream. I live in North Carolina now, but this was my favorite since I was pregnant with baby #1.

Very disappointed in the service and food I received tonight! Placed an order for two orders of wings for my boyfriend and a burger and fries for myself. I also purchased two things of ice cream. After I placed my order we sat at a table waiting for our order to be completed we got enjoy the staff fighting over who made a baseball cap ice cream and “left it in the cooler”! About 15 mins after I placed my order the same girl who took my order came over to the table and asked me what all I wanted on my burger because she “forgot” so I restated my order cheese ketchup and onions. We waited another 15 mins before getting our food and once I made it home it was incorrect. I called and asked to speak with a manager because after spending $40.00 on dinner it’s upsetting that it’s incorrect. I told the manager what was wrong with my order(no cheese on my burger and no ranch for my two orders of wings) and she asked me how I paid cash or card? So I stated card she asked for the name on my card and put me on hold. After waiting another female came to the phone and asked me to come back to the store and pick up a correct order or she could give me 10 percent off my next order? This is absolutely unacceptable and I wouldn’t even be making such a fuss about cheese and ranch however that’s what I paid for and didn’t receive! We just moved into our new house today so our refrigerator is pretty bare! We will definitely never be back!

Ordered over the phone, when I got there 20 minutes later they never heard of the order. Then made it and it ended up being wrong. So they put me in the Book and gave me the correct order the day after free of charge. This is not an isolated incident. YOF has always been a mess especially the wait staff. Its not really their fault, the business model is down right stupid, but what are you going to do? Its just one of those places you keep going back to and you dont know why.

Ye ole fashioned ice cream is one of our favorite places to eat. It is nice that the dining room is open. However I wish that they had taken some measures for social distancing such as maybe putting up plexiglass between the booths and taking out one or two tables. But even though that hasnt happened we have only been there once where I was a little uncomfortable about the amount of people around me. We love the chicken strips and french fries! We also love the small salad. I like mine with the fried chicken strips on top and my husband likes the turkey on top. And then you can add or take away a few items depending on what you enjoy. So glad that they have stayed in business during these hard times.

They are just a awesome place to go chill by your self or with friends or family or both and some friends

We went to the drive thru for ice cream. If youre not familiar with this specific place, just know its almost impossible to make a left turn out of the parking lot.Most of the time, theyll have you pull back to the front and walk your order out, which isnt a big deal. Small parking area and a tight turn around the back of the building so just be aware if you have a larger vehicle.Normally takes about 10 minutes minimum for any order, even ice cream in the drive through. If youre in a rush, probably not the best place to go but if you have a few minutes, food is worth the wait. Best place for BLTs and burgers- theyre HUGE so be prepared for that as well.

Used to love coming here, came today and my order of only loaded fries took longer than the burgers my friends ordered and on top of it 90% of my fries were completely plain. Terrible experience and wont be coming back!

If you use the drive, well out of site out 9f mind. We will not be back!!!

The ice cream was the best part. Their burgers are kept in water in a crock pot then heated on a foil lined Forman type grill. This seems odd for a burger place. I ordered egg salad which was good. Most sandwiches are double decker but on small bread slices. I would eat here again for dessert only.

I placed an order online at 1:01pm. Email receipt said order would be ready at 1:18pm. I arrived at 1:19pm and went to the drive thru to pick up my order. The employee checked on my food, then came back and told me it was a 5 minute wait. A second employee checked on me, and I told her I was waiting on my order. A third employee checked on me, and he said to pull up front to wait and they’d bring it out to me. I waited in my car until 1:45 pm !!! I finally went inside to check on my order myself and the older lady that works there was unapologetically RUDE to me! She acted bothered that she had to deal with my problem. She asked who took my order? I told her I placed it online. She finally found my order sitting on the counter!! No one bothered to bring it out to my car, as promised!!! It was COLD ! I had already paid and wanted to just go, rather than wait on a refund. I had to ask her twice for my ice cream and the bbq sauce I requested in the note section of the online order. Ridiculous! I was treated like my business didn’t matter. I guess if you lose a customer or two amongst the thousands each week, it really doesn’t matter. So much for a mom n pop type atmosphere. I’ve lived in Summerville for over 40 years. I support local businesses as much as possible. I will no longer be supporting this one.

Each time I go to this location they screw up my entire order. They don’t even inform their customers what comes on it and I’m highly allergic to nuts and my ice cream is filled with it. Horrible place. This is the 3rd even after telling them no nuts.

I love this place I would compare it to the one in West Ashley because it always feels like a down-home meal. Every location Ive ever gone to theyve always been very friendly and they are definitely practicing the social distancing at this restaurant. I always forget to take pictures of the ice cream but they always have the best ice cream and the most toppings. the only thing Im never really happy about is the price but its very competitive with everything else around. So give me a few nights and Ill be back over there and Ill take pictures to post. But if youre ever in the area look up the old fashioned its a good place to go for late night ice cream

Tonight for the first time I accidentally ordered an ice cream from the one on the other side of Summerville, I asked if they could switch it to this one and they refused because the owner is being strict about it. I won’t be getting food from here for a while.

Ladies and gents I present you the Patty Melt... now if they would have accepted responsibility I wouldnt be leaving a review but here it is in all its glory. They tried to blame Uber eats, but how can it be the drivers fault when the ticket says patty melt and is stapled to the bag. I sure dont expect or want my uber driver poking around in my bag nor do I expect them to know what a patty melt is. So if you want a delicious patty melt try Dog and Duck down the road or if its late at night and youve thrown a few back Waffle house will hook you up. Be sure to sit in the booths on the left and tell them I sent you, and dont forget to tip your waitress. Three stars are cuz the ice cream is bangin but then again its hard to mess up ice cream 😉

I love getting Milkshakes from here, they are really good. Went through the drive thru this last time I went. Parked in a spot and waited for my food. Wasnt a fan of my window being knocked on. I would understand if I had not seen them or it took me a but before I realized they were there. But this guy knocked on my window immediately, I just found it kinda rude.

Normally it would be a 5, we order almost every weekend. Tonight was horrible. They lost our order, get home and parts are missing. Go to get whats missing and still missing parts. At this point we said screw it. I get its a busy place but this has been happening a lot lately. They really need to slow down and recheck the orders before bagging. Very disappointing.
