The 1st time I experienced Champs Family Automotive was about 1 yr ago when my engine died out on the road not far from their Surprise shop. A police officer suggested that I have my car towed there. The shop was closed at that time, but the very next morning they called asking me what happened to my car. I told them the engine light ! Was on, they called me letting me know what was wrong with my car sending pictures and showing me step by step what was needed for repairs, etc. A couple days later I drove out of there with my car running much better than it had in years...Been going back ever since! My Champs!Wouldnt trust my Baby with any one else!

I am impressed with this small shop. The workers are friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable and fair. They will not pressure you or try to use scare tactics. They give you the information, and let you decide what you want to do with it.They replaced my rack-and-pinion on my Ford F-150. Not only did they give me the best deal after shopping around, they also honor military and veterans with a service discount, and they gave me the option of purchasing the parts myself through a third party and they perform the work. They work with insurance and out-of-pocket. They keep you informed of the work, your options, and do not perform any work without prior approval. While they were doing the work they noticed another small item that needed attention. They called me and asked if I wanted them to take care of it. I approved, and they did that also... only charging me for the part and no additional service fee since they were already in there.I feel like Ive found a go-to place, and they will be getting more of my business for my vehicle needs. I feel comfortable recommending this place to my friends and family.

This was our first time here and we were thoroughly impressed. Very, very nice and helpful people. They worked super hard to get our motorhome done, even though we had the wrong day. A friend recommended I go to Champs for an estimate after I got a maintenance estimate of about $2000 from my dealer. Champ’s estimate was about $1400. I opted for Champs and have been going back there ever since. Champs offers FAIR & VERY COMPETITIVE PRICES and THOROUGHLY SKILLED AUTO MECHANICS. Importantly they do just what needs to be done with no added surprises.

Jerry and the gang at Champs Family Automotive were absolutely awesome. Jerry worked with my extended warranty company to get my air conditioner back in working order. Im very impressed with this company. They are honest and ethical. When I brought my vehicle to them, the air conditioner was blowing hot air. After I drove it out of the shop today, by the time I got home I thought my face would suffer frostbite! This company will be my go to company for any future car repairs. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone whose looking for a good mechanic!

Been to Champs Surprise 3 times and dealt with service writer Brandt each time. This guy knows the meaning of quality customer service. No, hes not related and Ive never met him before this! Hes super friendly and his listening and communication skills are exemplary. He is now my go-to contact whenever I need help. Give Champs just one try and you may just change repair shops.

Quick to communicate, great place and did a quality job. Only reason Im knocking off 1 star is because they gave me the total which was a good chunk of change for me and while doing the repairs came Across Another repair that couldnt be ignored cost me quite a few hundred more dollars. The mechanic admittedly said they had overlooked it Inside when I came into pay for everything he would look over all the repairs and help me out since it was caused to me so much money. That never happened, I ended up paying full price for everything... I guess as any normal person would. But I figured with already spending quite a few thousand dollars a couple hundred bucks knocked off would of been cool. No big deal, I will still bring my vehicles back there they seem like a great group of guys and did a great job communicating throughout the process.As for the overlooked repair itself and looking at it from their point of view and how it was explained to me, I could see how it could possibly get overlooked until certain things took place in order for it to stand out. So I am not that frustrated because I do understand...it just sucks.Thanks Champs Auto, truck is running like a champ again.

I went to Champs and received a full detailed description with PICTURES on what was wrong with my 2015 Hyundai! I had my control arm replaced and some more stuff.. I have utilized CHAMPS a number of times for my aging vehicles but have never thought to leave a review. However, this experience blew me away! So, I had to write one.I have an old 2003 Suzuki. The a/c mounting bracket broke, thus disabling not only the a/c but the power steering. No problem! Just order a new one. Nope. None to be found. Now what? The awesome service advisor, Brandt, tells me he has checked everywhere for a replacement. I too then begin to look. Maybe I can go to a junk yard? Brandt calls me back to tell me the that the owner, Champ, is taking the broken one to his other shop to weld it together. Wow!! Now that is service above and beyond!!! It is nearly impossible to find that kind of service anymore. In fact, you find it from the small business owners. I’d give them 10 STARS ⭐️ if I could.

I would like to say Champs is the best for RV service and repair. Everything we had done was explained to us and was done on time. Our Customer service person Brandt kept us updated on all our repairs each time our RV was in and when we could expect it completed. Highly recommend. Mike is a straight shooter, hell tell you whats Needed not 13 things that arent necessarily. I took my SUV there arent being scammed from another shop. His techs quickly diagnosed the specific issue, something the other shop would only suggest a total system replacement. Champs is the only place Im taking my car moving forward.

Went here because of good reviews and bumper to bumper approved car repair list.Took my VW Jetta to get CEL diagnosed, paid a 100 bucks to get not much more than you get for free from Auto Zone and them telling me to see a VW specialist. Nice people that work there but probably will never go back. Wasted a 100 bucks Response to your answer I did take it to London Auto Werkx as suggested the person at the counter was surprised I got charged a full diagnostic fee for what was given to me

Never really write reviews but Wow I have to for this place! Hands down best mechanic shop you will EVER go to!! My wife and I took in our 2007 F150 as well as our 2004 Expedition, they replaced the fuel pump on the Expi in great time and we were back on the road with zero issues! The 07 F150 got a rebuilt transmission, and I mean we all know having someone rebuild can be a little nerve wracking but No not at Champs! They got my big blue beautiful truck back up in no time, my trucks runs and feels better than ever! We definitely feel blessed to have found a mechanic shop like Champs, We are impressed Everytime we go in, very knowledgeable and honest people! Champ himself is amazing, and you can just tell he loves what he does, so happy he has a shop close by our house but honestly even if we moved Id drive 6 hours to get to his shop because Id know that when the keys come back into my hands everything is fixed and runs like a Champ!! Champs does not care about your time so dont bother making an appointment. My first appointment was on a Monday and they didnt start working on my RV until Friday. The repair did not make resolve the issue so another appointment was made. This time I was very specific that I needed an appointment for when they would start working on the RV not that it would just sit there as we are moving into the motorhome fulltime. Well, as of noon on Friday nothing was done and I pulled my RV out of there. If you have a motorhome I suggest you go elsewhere for repairs because the just dont care about your time and will put drop-ins ahead of your scheduled service.

We take our company and personal vehicles to get repaired here. Always friendly and fair. It also helps they keep my diesel in tip top shape. We also have a fleet out Tundras for our business and its nice they have two locations. I only wish they opened a location in the East valley for my East valley techs. I called Champs the other day looking for golf cart batteries. I was greeted by a nice young man named Ryan. He hooked me up with just the right batteries at a very reasonable price. Our Golf cart could not be driven to their shop, so Ryan even called a tow truck to pick it up so that they could install the battery at the shop. They are very nice people with fair pricing.I highly recommend taking your car or Golf cart or motorcycle to them. You will get an honest price and great service!

Lots of noise from under the hood of my aging Lexus. At what point do you not spend money on an old car (mine has 213,000 miles on it)? No worries. Champs technicians quickly found an easy fix...cost less than $40 and the Lexus rolls on thanks to good care at this great facility. Highly recommend!

Took our car here before we left on vacation at the recommendation of a family friend and was not disappointed. John, our Service Adviser, was friendly and professional. The work I requested was completed in a timely matter accompanied with a list of other needed repairs that were noticed during the inspection. We will definitely be back for any work our vehicle needs and give Champs our highest recommendation!

Even though I had said the exact words in their previous review/recommendation I will say it again!!From a previous store manager and advisor amazing service! Just as I would expect and perform in my own personal shop, Criag (service manager/advisor) and Eric (technician) explained everything in detail to what was required now for safety and how we could formulate a plan for the next steps required. From start to finish everything it was an absolute 110% experience.

Had an expensive fix for my diesel truck but I believe their pricing was very fair compared to other places. They were honest and up front about what needed to be done and didnt BS me at all. Everyone I spoke with was very friendly and they were very quick with running the diagnostic and then fixing my truck. I had it back within 24 hours. Ill be going to then for all of my vehicle services now.

A few weeks ago, were still bringing our vehicles, (foreign car) to Champs Autos Surprise location. Youll be hard pressed to find a more honest & dependable mechanics shop, along with flexible pricing to get the job done. Additionally, Champs will assess your vehicle at no charge, providing details & pricing and will NEVER recommend work you dont need, something we see at dealerships everyday. Along with an awesome customer service team, I highly recommend Champs Auto, whether your doubtful or question your current shops ability & integrity. Owner Champ often on site, was awarded a local business Ethics award by the city of Surprise a few years ago... well there you go! Frank M. Peoria, AZ

On Monday 1/27 Champs serviced our 2006 Chevrolet Kodiak (Bigfoot RV) powered by a 6.6 Duramax diesel. They changed the oil and filter and included what they call their 20+ point check. The facility is clean and orderly it appears new. The staff is polite and accommodating. The prices are also very reasonable. Ok so whats the downside?After leaving the facility I briefly scanned the bill and noticed at the top it mentioned something about oil changes 12-14 quarts. After arriving home, a 10 minute drive, I really read the bill and it stated that 10 quarts were used to refill the engine. This Duramax 6.6 engine needs 14.6 quarts to fill it and a minimum of 12.6 for it to be in the operating range.After checking the oil myself, with the engine hot, it indicated it was low but well within the operating range. I called Champs and told them there was only 10 quarts noted on the bill and asked them to check with the technician who serviced the vehicle to confirm how much he had put in the engine. The response was he put in 10 quarts and found it low so he put in 2 more and he still found it low so he put in an additional 2 quarts.This should total 14 quarts! Champs thanked me for my call and dismissed any charges for the additional 4 quarts.So I checked the oil today with the engine cold and of course it is still .6 quarts low but well within safe operating range. What I believe I should have done in retrospect was to specify the kind and amount of oil so I would not leave anything to speculation. I think I was remiss in thinking the numerous 5 ratings that Champs has received demonstrates they know almost everything there is to know about the vehicles they are servicing or have a ready source of info for anything in question.The fact is they can make a mistake! Will they catch any shortcoming in servicing or is it going to result in damaging the vehicle? Thankfully, our vehicle never left the facility without adequate oil. Our problem is a lack of confidence. The existence of other credible service facilities in the neighborhood is limited especially located in such an accessible location. Its disappointing. Will we go back? We are not sure at this point! If we have to double check all that is being done, if we can that is, we might as well perform all the simpler servicing ourselves.In summary, these folks appear to be honest and want to operate a professional business. Our suggestion would be to have more oversight or QC of the work being done and specify/validate the materials and/or parts to be provided when the work order is made.

Problem with engine nose had the problem identify quickly. Part was installed by anther auto shop. They went the extra step and called the auto shop and told them about the problem they need to fix.Champs have a customer for life. Thank you so muchSteve

I had an issue with my 2008 toyota camry, i had my brother check it out and he assumed it was the break lines that could have possibly snapped, due to leaking substance coming from the front left tire. new break lines were purchased and he was in charge of taking my car over to Champs with the new break lines. he states that he told an employee that he assumes the break lines needed to be changed. the employee checked it out and said they were fine but something else was definitely wrong. the employee was told NOT to replace the break lines since that was not the issue but the labor got done anyways. however i wanted the diagnostic done either way, a $100 charge. in the end they tried to charge me over $300 for unwanted labor and the diagnostic. after coming in to solve the problem the employer let us walk off the property free of charge even though i was willing to pay the $100 for the diagnostic. they were more than generous and very helpful.

I was referred to Champs Automotive about 2 years ago from a relative. I was in need of new brake pads and to have my rotors turned. I already got a quote from 2 other local brake shops before I heard about Champs. Champs was a lot less in price plus the customer service was better than I have had from an auto shop in along time. Now when I need anything done to my vehicles, Champs is the only place I go. I trust they will do only the work that needs to be done and charge me a great price. Give them a shot and you will see for your self that Champs Automotive is the honest auto company you have been looking for.

Everyone at Champ’s Family Automotive are wonderful. My husband and I have them take care of all our personal vehicles, as well as our business fleet vehicles. One of my personal vehicles is very sentimental to me as it was my aunt’s before she died last April. I didn’t have a mother, so she was basically my mother figure and my favorite person. I drive her little Mini Cooper sometimes because it was hers. Recently white smoke started bellowing out of it and I broke down in front of the store crying. Champ calmed me down and the car is being fixed. I trust this establishment with my aunt’s car. Great people and trusted repairs.

Highly skilled guys who will get the job done. Lots of prima donnas around Bell road dont like to get their hands dirty and they will only take the easy jobs. These guys are very professional and clean.

Ive been a customer of Champs Family Automotive twice in the last two months and both times they did a fantastic job.In the first instance we agreed that my truck was too far gone to warrant any further repairs - there was no pressure by the Champs staff to perform repairs.In the second instance they installed a rack and pinion in my 99 Camaro and they did a great job. Their price was lower than most of the other quotes I received and they did exactly what they said theyd do for exactly what they quoted - there were no surprises.

We brought our RV (Class A Motorhome) in for service to the onboard Generator and ended up paying a total of $540 for two attempted repair that left us with a Generator that still doesnt work. The first time we dropped off our RV we were told that a circuit breaker breaker had been tripped and the problem was solved, the generator ran a little rough at first but latter smoothed out & ran normally. We were charged $140 for the first attempt. When we returned the RV to the storage facility and attempted to start the generator it would crank but would not start. We called Brandon at Champs informed him of the situation and he told us to bring it back in for another look-see (I paraphrase). We packed up the RV and took it in for the second time and awaited a call to to give an idea of the cost of what was needed going forward. We never got a call from anyone informing us of any additional cost; estimate or was given the chance to approve or decline any additional repairs. Instead we got a call from the shop that informed us that the repairs were done and we owned an additional $398.11. At the time we were leaving the next day on a trip to California (Loma Linda) for my diabetic eye clinic appointment so we could not have our RV (which we use for the trip) held hostage, so we dipped into our meager savings and paid the second fee. We are both retired and live on a fixed income, so $389 is a substantial chunk of our income. I have no issues with the first charge ($140), but we never got the chance to approve or decline the second charge ($389.11). We contacted Brandon and he offered at first to give us a free Oil change and later agreed to have is bring out RV back in for a third time to make another attempt to solve the problem. I asked him to give us a few days to think about it. After a little back & forth we though it best if we took our generator somewhere else that had experience in small engine/generator repair. At no point did Brando agree to refund any portion of the second repair ($389.11) which we never approved. Taking our RV back a third time after two failed attempts was a risky proposition which might incur even more cost and sink us even deeper into debt during this pandemic. We are filing a complaint with the Arizona Consumer Protection Agency & looking into Small Claims court to recover our $389.11.

Took my Chrysler 300C in because my front in was making noises and riding rough. Champs replaced struts, front brakes, rotors, alignment, and plugged my tire. All of it done for way under what I thought is would cost. He also found my A/C wasnt working, and helped me get it completely replaced under my extended warranty. Trustworthy mechanics!!! Initially, I took my truck into shop near my work and they told me I had to get a new engine. Even though I receive the worst news after stupidly buying a van that had been wrecked without knowing, they were great. Approximately one year ago my wife took our Expedition here for some work. They suggested completely draining the transmission fluid and replacing it. Unknowingly, we okayed it. Almost immediately afterwards, our transmission was toast! I was out of state working Catastrphe Relief.When I got back home in January, we took the Expedition to my main mechanic and he said that you never completely empty the transmission fluid. You replace it in stages as to keep any metals from damaging the transmission. My mechanic said that any true mechanic should know this!!!$3,500 later we had to buy a new transmission!!!Thanks for nothing.STAY AWAY!!!***My wife’s response to your response***I contacted you specifically for electrical issues pertaining to the conversion of an old police vehicle so the lights, horn, lock would function normal and for installing the running bars and the interior console. You called me and told me all fluids were old and needed to be flushed especially the transmission fluid. When I questioned that, I was told there would be transmission issues if we didn’t flush it. We discussed it and gave you the ok. There were no issues with the transmission prior to bringing it in and upon driving it home, the shifting was so bad the tires would squeal upon take off and the vehicle jerked badly with every shift. I brought it back the next day and a few times that week and was told that it definitely wasn’t the transmission slipping, it had to do with the computer system having to learn my driving because it was to the prior drivers and all you needed to do was to disconnect the battery which would erase all the memory and would learn my driving. However, the shifting problem was still there, was still that bad and only proceeded to get worse and it all started after you insisted we flush the transmission.In short, if there had been any issues with the transmission, you would’ve offered to fix it. However there were no issues, prior to your handling of my vehicle.

They’ve now worked on two of my cars, fully trust for all major and minor repairs. I love this shop!

I called and talk to Chris the service writer about my truck not passing smog. I told him my emission hc and co readings over the phone on speaker in front of two witnesses. Chris told me it sound like its my catalytic converter and For me to go ahead and get my cats. So doing as a champs emplyoee said I went and purchased two new catalyic converters and brought my truck in. I handed Chris my emissions paper,the keys to my truck and told him the new cats were in the truck. He said he would call me the next day in the morning. I never received a call till thirty mins before closing. Come to find out they only put my cats in, they did nothing for my truck passing smog. Now me not being a mechanic and having them do my engine from two years earlier I figured I could trust theyd get the job done per me failing smog. I asked to talk to the owner, after talking to Champ he told me to go ahead and drive my truck to make sure my cats were hot. Then take it to smog and if it didnt pass for me to put down it was a home fix. Then hed help me out to get it to pass smog. I failed again and now he wants to charge me to do the job I original asked them to do. Ive been burned for the last by these fast talking Champ and Chris. Everytime I have brought my truck to champs Ive always had to take it right back to fix something they didnt do right or forgot to connect back. Small claims court here we come. Patrick Elkins
