I called Smallcakes and said I wanted a special cake for my Husband and Moms birthdays. I said they liked chocolate, peanut butter and candy. They made me the most beautiful and delicious cake. Everyone loved it! If you need a great custom cake, this is the place to go! They are so creative and the cakes are delicious!

Ordered two cakes for my sisters baby shower! I will definitely be getting cakes here for big events going forward. The cakes were so delish and moist! The only complaint our guest had is that the berry filling was so amazing they wish it had been more generous. I did order two naked cakes but they had more frosting than anticipated, which is fine! I ordered some Hot Cocoa bombs on Christmas Eve and luckily they had some available for pre-order. When I picked them up, the people who were there were super friendly. Today is my first time picking up an imposter cake for my sons 9th birthday. It was absolutely perfect! Im not a fan of cake but the cake and the frosting are wonderful!!! Definitely did not disappoint! I will be going back!

I was very excited to try a better cupcake but these cupcakes really dont taste as good as they look they are just so sweet not even my kids ate them and they are kids they eat everything that is sweet. Definitely not buying again as they are so expensive and I know they are bigger than others but not satisfying.

I snuck in one day before school let out so I could enjoy my treat in peace and Christopher was so helpful. He offered samples of the flavors to try. We brought our boys in for a last day of school surprise and we got 4 cupcakes to take home. They were wrapped up so carefully in this beautiful box. Best cupcakes weve ever had! Absolutely terrible cupcakes for a professional cupcakery. We were soooo excited to try them out, and traveled 35 minutes from Avondale. The girl helping us was very nice and helpful and answered any of our questions. The store itself was clean and cute looking, with a fun display to hold all of the cupcakes. We had a sample of the plain vanilla ice cream, and it did not taste good. It tasted like nothing. :( We ordered 6 different kinds of cupcakes. When we cut them all in half to share them all, I was disappointed to notice that the filled ones only had maybe a teaspoon or less of filling. All frosting was swirled on the outside edges of the cupcake tops only, so they didnt even put a huge amount to cover the middle or pile it on. For $3.75 a cupcake I would hope there would be a decent ratio of cake to frosting. The frosting was weird and gross tasting, like crisco mixed with sugar, or generic US Foods frosting.The cake part was dry, and seriously tasted like walmart cake!! The lemon and red velvet cakes that were colored tasted bad but had the added horrible food coloring dye taste. They might make their cupcakes fresh daily, but with the cakes and frostings tasting so bad and tasting exactly like big box store cakes, it seems obvious that they might not use homemade ingredients and probably use pre mixed dry batter, or something. You know its bad when the customer thinks, my Betty Crocker cake mix cupcakes taste better than this!! I would not recommend anyone going to this brand of cupcake store. WAY over priced for the produts recieved. I am so sad that they did not deliver a premium delicious, always want more kind of cupcake like I was hoping for.

This place is pretty amazing and the owners are very down to earth. It’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already. My wife is here several times a week. We love all the different daily flavors.

I can’t believe these gluten free cupcakes are this good! I bought a chocolate with peanut butter frosting and vanilla with lemon frosting. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Besides that, I personally felt the buttercream frosting is heavy and sweeter than I’d like.

Edit 🥳 I went back after lunch and I decided to try the Mint chocolate chip Ice cream and it was delicious ❤️❤️❤️I haven’t officially tried it yet; walking by the windows caught my attention!! When i walked in I was greeted by friendly lady’s! I’m excited to go back and try!!

3 doors down from Starbucks I discovered Smallcakes of Surprise. Not only do they have cupcakes that are uncommonly good but the people who own the place are absolutely marvelous. I got there a little before it was time for the store to open and I was invited in to look around and I’m glad I did. Nice people, good treats and a wonderful space makes this an ideal place. I’ve tasted their small cakes and I will definitely use them to supply my wife’s milestone birthday party next month. This small business should be sold out everyday, their small cakes are that good and the owners are what makes small business great.🎯

SO HAPPY with how beautiful our cake came out!! I had a vision and they really turned it to life. Not only that, it tasted just as good as it looked, cake was so moist and frosting tasted just right! I would like to first say that their cakes are beautiful and delicious, I have no problem with the quality of the food at all. They even have pupcakes for your furry friends. Ive even gone a few times in the past couple weeks to get a few cupcakes. Also the cupcakes are bigger than I expected them to be, theyre great! I really, really want to give them 5 stars but I have to deduct 2 Stars due to the following issues. I apologize in advance for this being such a long post.So my daughter had her birthday this week and I saw they were well reviewed and I went in and placed an order for a 6 inch chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and sent them a picture of what I wanted for the design. I wanted a cake that they had on their own website that had a giraffe and an elephant on it with some green leaves around it. I just wanted the message changed on it. They said that with peanut butter frosting it wouldnt be on a white background like the picture, but a tan one instead and I told them that was totally fine. I also ordered 6 Chocolate cupcakes with plain buttercream frosting and green leaves to go with it. So here are the issues I had.Issue one is a two part issue1.A) When I placed the order there was an issue with the card reader (the employees said it messes up often) so I had to rescan my card. No problem, it happens. However I got a message from my bank in the app a few days later saying it looked like I had a double charge. Indeed I did, for the exact same amount within one min of each other. I brought it up with the business and they took down my phone number and said someone would call me the next day, but I never got a call. When I went in they told me that on their end they show that they only charged once. Thats cool, but I got charged twice and Im out that money, so clearly there is an issue and I guess Ill have to have my bank figure it out.That being said, just pay in cash and you wont have that issue I guess.1.B) when I placed the order I went home and got a call a few mins later saying I had to come in and pay an additional $30 because they didnt charge me for the actual cake, just the frosting and such? So I went back in and had to pay an additional $30. I mean I understand that the one girl was new so Im not mad about the mistake being made, it just seems like bad customer service to have me come back in and pay even more money. If it were me I wouldve made sure the employee knew of the mistake and how to avoid it and then I wouldve explained the mistake to the customer and told them that next time it would be more expensive if they made a similar order. Its not the end of the world, but it also wasnt the only mistake which is why Im mentioning it.Now for the second issue2.) When I picked up my cake it did not have the animals on it, it was simply some green leaves on a white (remember it wasnt supposed to be white) background. It had peanut butter filling but not peanut butter frosting. It was very pretty, for an adult or even a teen, but it wasnt what I wanted for my young daughter. Luckily this was just her 1st birthday so she didnt care and wont remember, that combined with my social anxiety and the number of issues I already had, I didnt bother to say anything and I just told them it looked nice and I took it home. I will admit I shouldve said something then and I do plan on going back in to speak with them so they are aware of it, but this is a really bad first impression.Like I said, the food is delicious and the cake was beautiful. I just recommend paying in cash, keeping your receipt, and reconfirming your order the day before or else you may have problems like I did. I do want to give them another chance but it will have to wait till the next birthday this winter for me to be able to.

Came in ( smoked first, you get all the favors that way ) I heard mixed messages about it. I ordered a Red Velvet cupcake. My highness enjoyed the moisture of the cake. The icing wasnt as sweet as I heard. Over all I would come back. I want to try some of their other cupcakes 🧁 😋

Honestly my fiancée and I were considering this place for our wedding cupcakes and today after eating at the bagel shop near there, we came out to one of the workers screaming at a Pizza Hut employee over a parking spot?? How unprofessional can you be? Especially to another business in the plaza? I am shocked and so sad to say the least. That shouldn’t be the standard for a CUPCAKE place. I have no words and needless to say we won’t be using their cupcakes or their business every again. We might however order some pizza.

If you follow their social media accounts not only will it make you hungry ALL day it will also allow you to catch their sales. Last time I got 6 cupcakes for the price of 3! Score!! And the cupcakes are HUGE! My favorites so far are the Lemon Curd and Chocolate Cream. I love that Smallcakes is active in our community and supports and donates to many causes. Keep up the good work!

This place is bad I had a cupcake is tates very generic like you went to walmart and got some and put them on a shelf the cupcakes are crumy and fall apart the batter is dry and the frosting is BAD the employees are unprofessional there are circle k cups all over the counter and onr employee a there feet up on a table i wouldnt recommend going here

The girl checked me out with the pup cake I ordered and never once answered why or bothered to credit me for the cake on my rewards, she said thank you and walked away to help the customers behind me. Wont be going back.

Ice cream is old and should have been discarded a long time ago. Instead of melty it was gummy, thick and stretchy. Cupcake is too sweet. Ive had much better cupcakes and Ice cream.

They did a great job with my daughters custom birthday cake. It was rainbow layers with a candy surprise in the middle. They even used the circles they cut out of the middle to make a few extra cupcake treats for us!

My husband Ordered a specialty cake for my 65th birthday. He ordered a white cake with amaretto mouse filling and chocolate buttercream frosting and a ganache dripping over the top. He told them I liked pastel colors and wanted a spectacular cake as I was an excellent baker. This was an 8 inch round and it was $114.00 which had to be paid up front.This was the worst cake we have ever had. There was no amaretto mouse filling, it was a runny gory marshmallow consistency. There were no decorations on except chocolate frosting large rosettes on top. The frosting was so thick as was the gooey filling and the entire cake fell apart. ( I would Post the pictures but don’t know how on this sight), We could not serve this to our guests and my husband had to go and buy another desert for our small birthday party. We called the owners and sent them pictures and they would not do anything to remedy the situation.I would never ever order from them again. OVER PRICED and a cake disaster!

This place is Amazingly yummy!! The Owner is Awesome! He’s always at the store making sure everything is good and the girls are super sweet! The decor is cute and the store is clean. But let me tell you, they have some good cupcakes and ice creams, my favorite is the smash which is ice cream and cupcake together, super delicious!!! They have a good selection of flavors and always changing it up. They always have events going on, which I think is super cool. Oh, and they make make custom cupcakes and cakes which is a bonus. So if you have the sweet tooth, you should definitely come here. Totally worth it.

Amazing cupcakes! The cake itself is excellent, dense yet moist. The choices are fun and the icings are always super yummy. Oh and the ice cream! To die for!! If youre a fan of some old fashioned banana pudding they have a sensational banana pudding ice cream! The best part is how absolutely awesome this shop has been for the Surprise community. The owner always goes a step beyond to help with many many fundraisers and community projects.

My daughter 17th Birthday is today..It all started a couple of days ago. I came across small cakes of surprise website. I decided to go by..I order a red velvet, strawberries on top and in the middle, and design cake. And, couple of red velvet cupcakes. The filling on both was so good omg..The cake was only 6 but it was worth the $60 dollars. Cupcakes prices was worth there prices as well. The cake was delicious!! My daughter said it was pretty & good. I will recommend any one there..I will more in likely stop by just to buy some ice cream or a cupcake. Bought some for my daughters gender reveal! They were beautiful and yummy!

As pretty as they were when I arrived home to a box of 4, they did not taste great/good/better than the average.I tried the lemon- huge miss. The batter should be lemon, and the icing should be lemony without having a weird sugary aftertaste. Instead it just taste like plain vanilla cake batter, nothing else.I tried the tiramisu- another huge miss. The batter was yet again plain vanilla. The icing was gross, with only the deceptive ice espresso powder on top to make you think you would be eating a fluffy and creamy coffee cupcake.The red velvet was average, and the buttercream was not anything I’d want again.Revamp the recipes and try again, because they need to taste as good as they look.

Love this place. Chris is awesome and has always been friendly from day one when I first walked in.The Red Velvet and Carrot Cake cupcakes are so good it’s ridiculous. The cupcakes were alright. I ordered 3 cupcakes through Doordash but the store only sent us 2. It was a bit irritating because the cupcakes are pricey. Other than that, I would say everything else was fine.

Love this place, I always go for cupcakes and they are great . I just had my wedding cake made by them and it was not only gorgeous but tasted great. All my guests commented on how great the cake was. The staff there is super nice and the owner is also great to work with. My venue was in Mesa and they were able to connect me with a company to deliver.

I ordered a 6 lemon cake with lemon cream cheese frosting and lemon Kurd filling for my sisters birthday. Let me just say OMG ! Best cake ever! We still have a sliver left and its better today than on Monday. I will never go anywhere else for a special day.

Ive been to this place a few times. I absolutely love it. All the staff is super nice and professional. The owner even came out and introduced himself and even replaced the cupcake I dropped on the floor free of charge. Once you become loyal to a place that you love you dont go anywhere else. I love it and have referred so many people who love it too.

Went here shortly after they opened and have been a few times. When we first went, the owner was there and he proceeded to give us a run down on the history of cupcakes. Im in no way interested in that, but he also had an arrogant tone about him that rubbed me the wrong way.Beyond that aspect, the actual cupcakes arent too bad. There has been a lack of variety when I come into the place, but it could be because I came in the evening and perhaps they just dont have as much still available?As mentioned, the cupcakes themselves are ok. They arent anything I would go out of my way for, but if youre close and want a cupcake(small) then stop by.I say small because some places make the larger ones and those arent for everyone.

Smallcakes really helped me out! 10 days post cesarean and i needed cupcakes for my other daughters birthday party. I totally dropped the ball and smallcakes took my order less than 48 hours prior to me needing them. They looked fantastic and tasted wonderful as well!!!

My 1st visit was about 3 weeks ago. I got 4 cheesecake, a Double Chocolate, and an Almond Joy. By the time I was done with the frosting, I was full. The cupcakes are a great size for just 1 adult. I got quick service and was in and out - in under about 8 mins. Theres so many choices its hard to puck just 1 but I already know what Im getting my next visit. Worth Every penny. Yum!¡

The cakes and cupcakes are amazing, but service to the community is what keeps me going back.

Smallcakes of Surprise is AMAZING!! The staff is attentive and the cupcakes are delicious!! The lemon drop is my favorite. Their support for other local businesses, the community, military, teachers, and first responders is icing on the already delicious cupcake.
