The worst experience Ive ever had renting a truck. My wife was confused on which day to drop it off. It was supposed to be back yesterday at 4:00 p.m. I did not know until last night when I got a message saying it was being called in stolen. Try to call to figure out if I can drive it to drop it off and I was hung up on. Drop the truck off right amount of gas guess well see how much they charge For an honest mistake. Worst customer service Ive ever gotten anywhere I would say no matter what it cost rent anywhere else.
Even though I paid for 24 hour rental, I was told to bring the truck back in 10 hours at 7 pm. I managed to move 5 bedroom house to a different county in less than 10 hours, refilled gas and brought it back at 7:03pm. They were there, but they gave me such a hard time that I was 3 minute late and that I will be charged $20 fee for that. It was worst customer service experience. I will try to avoid this location in the future.
Waited 20 minutes to get a small bottle of propane filled. Asked 3 different people for assistance. They all said in a minute. Propane is supposed to be paid at the pump unfortunately while standing there you don’t hold a spot in their rentals line que. They helped 5 customers with rentals instead of the one that is leaving this review.
There was a brand new employee there when I moved my stuff in. It was 3 minutes to 7pm and I had a lot of stuff left to move. He comes up to me and says in a condescending tone “this place closes in 3 minutes, you need to wrap this up.” I told him that I thought the access was 24/7 and he replied that it’s not anymore because people were caught living in their units. I’m upset that he talked to me the way he did and also because this place is advertised as open 24/7. That new employee also paints his nails white and has an ugly haircut.
Horrible customer service, the employees dont seem to understand basic questions and appear stoned out of their minds. Given all the other negative reviews, seems I saved myself a bigger hassle.
Ive been going for about 3 months now at least 2 times a week and I always get help from Jonathan.If you want a quick and amazing experience at uhaul Spanaway ask for Jonathan.
This place is a joke. Safe yourself time and go to another location. We had went into the store to make reservations for back to back weekends. Both Saturday mornings we go in to pick up our truck and both mornings they did not have us down for a reservation. No one seems to know what’s going on around there. Worst customer service
Stay away. They told me it would be 15 minutes to get propane, then they told me i can get it down the street. I told them I would wait. Waited 20 min and then I left. One yard guy on a Saturday. Unbelievable.
Using U-Haul was a horrible experience that cost me thousands of dollars. I am in my 60s and recently widowed. I was moving across the passes in winter from the west side of the state to the east side to be closer to my children. I had reservations for a 26 truck and a car dolly. Thirty minutes before pick up time they said that someone had extended their use of the 26 truck and they now could only provide me with a 15 truck and suggested an additional trailer. (They did not say how I could deal with the car!) They offered extra mileage, but no extra gas or movers. They said I could make two trips. They did not say how I could get the extra help on both ends for two trips or how I could afford the extra gas and expenses. We ended up having to take thousands of dollars worth of perfectly good furniture and stuff to the dump; I have the dump receipt. We left behind a fairly new washer and dryer set. Then we got the small trailer and crammed everything in and did the best we could. I still had my car left behind so I called U-Haul and got specific permission to return the 15ft truck and trailer unit back over to the west side where my car was. It was the only way I had to get back to get my car. They gave me permission after I spoke with people on both the west side, the east side, and corporate headquarters. Now I am getting harassing phone calls with them wanting to charge me more money for who knows what? Unreal. You signed a contract to... Yes and you contracted to provide me with a 26 truck on a certain date when I had arranged to have movers to help. Now you are trying to nickle and dime me? Unreal. I would NEVER advise anyone to use U-Haul again. I dont know what has changed with their corporate policies. I have used them in the past without problems. The last time, I had almost the same thing happen but it was local moving so didnt matter so much. This time, the stress and difficulty with their service was over the top and I deeply regret using them. It cost me so much in money and stress; I can only recommend that people use other companies. In the local store, the people were very nice. They seemed quite embarrassed with the corporate policies, but seemed powerless to make corrections or compensations themselves. Basically, if there is an issure, you will end up dealing with a huge corporation, over the phone, that could care less about the service end; all they want is the maximum amount of money they can squeeze out. Be warned!
Every employee I have dealt with at this location has been excellent. They are all hard working individuals, and genuinely try to help their customers find the best solutions for their needs. Even on the very shortest notice, and a lack of proper planning on my part, they stayed until my family and I had everything we needed. Not one of them were impatient with me once through the entire process. I know I would never have had such composure if the tables were turned! Great job!
Reserved my truck online so I could pick up when I wanted to, but when I hit the button it still made me go in the store. Whats even the point? Luckily I got there 10min before the store opened so I didnt have to wait long. I went to ask an employee why and he said well, we dont open for another 10min. Thanks guy.Then I was doing the check out I luckily got the same truck I used about a month prior. But none of the photos were updated from the last time I did it. So I had to retake every picture and describe ever defect in the picture. Then Capt Obvious walks up asking if I was having issues with the app. I explained my frustration with the pictures not being updated and he laughed and said it was his job and that he needs to update the pictures.Keep up the good work everybody.
Was very upset I had to wait on hold for over 15 minutes to talk to someone. Just ridiculous!!!
I have been renting from them for over ten years and my stuff has been very safe I am very glad Im moving my belongings back home but I appreciate everyone keeping my stuff safe!
When we originally paid for our storage unit they never once told us that we had to pay an extra 10 dollars a month to have the 24/7 option. We were told they were a 24 hour access location. We came at all 11 last night with a truck load of stuff as we are night shift people. We were denied access. Came in this morning and were told that they in fact weren’t a 24 hour access and that it’s 10 dollars a month for this access. No where on their sign by door to the units did it say they closed at 10:30. Or that the option to have 24 hour access was an added fee. Their sign clearly says “welcome to your 24/7 self storage place”Really needs to work on customer service! Will not be using U haul self storage again.
The staff is great very helpful and they have great customer service.... But there is lots of crackheads inside and outside, there is a few homeless people that live in the storage area or the parking area not really a safe environment they are friendly but really awkward. One thing you notice is once you step into the locked facility is people are storing stuff in the hallways like LOTS of stuff kinda gross and some people are bringing their animals into the facility.. just gonna say be careful and cautious
Wonderful staff. They go above and beyond to make sure you get a good deal, and not stress you out as you go to move. Super helpful, and got me on the road with out breaking the bank.

Reserved a 20 truck. Two days before moving they tell me they only have a 15 truck available. When I called they said they could maybe find me a 20 truck but Id have to go pick it up at another location. The lady on the phone was extremely unhelpful and rude. I rent a storage unit at this location and have never had a problem but apparently they arent organized enough when it comes to their vehicles. Extremely frustrated, as if moving isnt frustrating enough, they just added more stress onto my plate.
Customer service is lacking, had to do the walk around on the truck alone, twice. Not very nice inside and takes too much time. They also overcharged my card and are saying its because I didnt fill the truck back up.The guy who cleans and parks the trucks is awesome and very nice.Edit: recently called and said. I owe 250 from my rental, are you kidding me? Ive already paid over 300 for two days.NEVER GOING TO THESE THIEVES AGAIN!
Truck had a non working stereo. They changed my dropoff location in the middle of the day. Its wrong to change a rental contract becasue its better for uhaul. Very disapointed.
Went into this location twice. The first time a woman from Reno helped us. She had no idea what she was doing, couldnt answer basic questions. Instead of asking the 2 co-workers next to her she told us to drive down to the uhaul on the other side of Pacific, 10-15 minutes away. When we said we were looking to rent uboxes her response was ew I hate those. Came to find out later than what little information she did give us was completely inaccurate. Extremely unprofessional and incompetent.
I could have ended up with a very bad experience there but the guys that are working there where great they figured it out and were just awesome!

Helping my mother-in-law move from lynden WA to Tacoma WA and uhaul made the move horribly for us. We were told we can drop the truck off at any location which in fact we couldnt we went to 2 different locations and this location specifically was the drop off location when I was trying to express our horrible service the man working - (red hair with glasses) wouldnt stop and listen and make eye contact he was avoiding the conversation by getting into the truck. For him to pay attention to me I had to raise my voice and curse to fix the issue which was lack of customer service...it is hard to turn into the area where the drop off is and instead of helping move the truck they wouldnt accept the truck unless it was in the specific spot. The employee gave us $20 refund on gas once we expressed us going to multiple locations to try to drop off the truck after we filled the tank up more then we already should have he stated $20 is reasonable,going to multiple locations are on you. And the truck was checked back into them at this point. I let him know I will be making a review and started to walk off. he then stated he didnt have bad service until I started cursing at him and he had a horrible day as it is..Soo he is taking out on how he feels his day is going onto end of day customers...customer service job is to take an upset customer and solve the problem. It wouldnt have been this way if he just acknowledge me.

Absolutely the most rude people I have ever worked with. I have rented multiple times from the because if how close they are to my house, you are better off driving up the road. They are horrible dont go here.

Hard to get into the parking lot from Pacific south bound. But other than that its OK. Much easier if you enter from behind the building.

Had reserved a trailer 6 x 12 for tuesday (9/10) plans changed and I had to change to friday and get a bigger trailer (haul a tractor) took 2 days of calling them to get everything set up, their hrs are 7 am - 7 pm but nobody was there when I stopped in at 730 am.... go figure..... but wouldnt let me rent the trailer unless I knew all specs on the tractor.... honorable customer service, they dont know what to do being its not a car.... should of taken my business elsewhere but bunce rental didnt have one for that day..... dont waste you time here...

Tried to call and get information over the phone on pricing and availability. Woman told me 5x10 72.00 a month and then very abruptly transferred me to a CSR who had no idea why I was calling. Wow.
They take my money for my UPODS every month - but they cant find them to move them. I have been hung up on three times, and yelled at twice. I am beginni9ng to think they Sold my stuff.
On 12/8/18 at 1pm i brought a new 20lb propane tank to be purged and filled...the woman behind the counter told me that they don’t purge tanks and the man working there told me that they don’t have the right valve to do it. i couldn’t believe what i was hearing...all you need is a screwdriver to open a bleed valve so the the new propane gas forces out the air (that may contain moisture) are they that lazy? yes they are.
The storage is very clean and the staf is great!

This place sucks! I had water damage to my property from a U-Haul truck and returned the truck to this location. I was told a water test would be done to find out where the leak was coming from. It took two weeks of calling and leaving messages for the manager before her assistant finally called me back and let me know the test was completed and the information had been sent to the insurance company. By the way, the insurance company has nothing to do with water damage so they are just a third party to slow down the claim. I then talk to the U-Haul regional officw and they play the its not my job game. Not to sure why they have a regional office if they cant do anything(Im guessing just another way to slow down the process). Bottom line if you get water damage from a U-Haul truck get ready for a long drawn out process and a lot of run around from U-Haul employees.
