I recently started my lease with drive time not over a mile the again and I am already having issues with the car. When I first got the car it had cockroaches inside which I had to bomb for up to two days. The inspections are not on the dot because if it were it would’ve told me the car had a transmission issues they never told me about. I am very very very upset and would not recommend this place to anyone. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM DRIVETIME. They don’t tell the whole truth about the vehicle and only give you fives days warranty to give the car back which is most definitely not enough time to find out if the car has issues or not. The company tells you that the car is inspected but I took the car to for a diagnosis and they told me it had a transmission issue.

Great selection of cars and great customer service, especially by Frank McMahen at the Florida Ave location in Tampa, Florida. My only gripe with the company is the very high interest rates, although it may only be because of my current credit rating. But on the plus side, the interest is calculated month by month, unlike many buy here pay here dealerships that immediately make the payoff amount of the car include all interest, as if you were still paying monthly for the full term of the loan. So basically if you car costs $15k, but with interest you are paying $19k, you can still pay $15k and pay off the loan 3 months after leaving the lot. While other lots may make the payoff amount $19k as soon you leave the lot.

Our dealer was Marcos and he did a fabulous job of helping us through the whole buying process. He answered (patiently) our many questions, helped with insurance etc. Couldnt be more happy!!

Good: People are friendly and will get you approved with VERY little down its based on income not credit. Average payment is $375-$600 monthly and for 48-60 months on avg and a $3500 warranty even if you dont want it but, I promise itll come in handy!!!!Bad: they dont inspect the vehicles they sell. If they did, I wouldnt have had $1000 worth of work done within the first week (all AC related) Granted the warranty covered EVERYTHING but it was still a inconvenience. But, with a little attention to detail it could have all been avoided.Basically, youll get what you want just expect to be in the shop within the first week or twoAND Utilize that warranty!!!, theres absolutely no out-of-pocket cost within the first 30 days. After the first 30 days it is $100 deductible in network and $200 out of network regardless how much the bill is.What I figured out is, It is cheaper for them to sell the vehicle and have the warranty cover the repairs, then it is for them to fix any repairs before selling you a car.Just do your homework before you decide to buy from any of their locations.5 🌟 for the employees2 🌟 for the quality of the inspections._______________________________This picture that I included is of the cabin air filter which speaks for itself on vehicle inspections._______________________________After 3 weeks of dealing with corporate and the warranty company my vehicle is getting fixed by the actual dealership. As stated before the WARRANTY that is sold with each vehicle is worth the $$!!!But overall EVERYONE has been professional and helpful during this whole process.

Worst car buying experience ever!Thursday night, I went to drivetime to trade in an old vehicle and finance a new one. Everything seemed to work out at first but after trading in my car and putting more money down out of pocket, they gave me a 2014 Chevy Cruze to take home. For the first 24 hours, the car was doing okay and all seemed well until the check engine light came on. So the following day I took it in to the mechanic to get a diagnostic test and after they fixed the first problem, (by replacing a $1500 part) I drove it home and not even an hour after I get it back, the light comes back on. I repeat the entire process two more times and even had to call off of work to wait for the car to get fixed. There ended up being $3000 in repairs that were done on the Chevy cruise within the first 3 day of me having it. I called drivetime to let them know that the sold me a lemon and I wanted a different car. After I call, they tell me to come in to “unravel” all of the paperwork and see if there is something else that fits with my income. So I am forced to leave my job early once again in the same week and when I get to the office they inform me that there were another two options I could look at but they were all the way in Orlando. So in my desperate need for a vehicle, they tell me to drive my UNINSURED trade in all the way from Tampa to Orlando. With fingers crossed, I drove to the Kissimmee office where they made me sit for hours and hours. I got there at roughly 530 pm and did not leave until midnight because even though I was already approved for a vehicle and drove off the lot with one, they needed to get approval from the bank once again. Now that would be all fine and well but due to the fact that I had to call off of work twice because of the car they sold me, my income went down and they tell me that there is nothing they can do because my income is inconsistent. Having said all of this I WOULD NOT recommend anyone going to drivetime! They supposedly certify cars as “non lemons” and hope that you keep it past your 5 day trade back date so you are stuck with the problem.

I did my research and even called to make sure I had everything I needed. One thing I couldnt get was pay stubs bc of how Im paid with a check but taxes and everything else was taken out. Since I didnt have proof of that. They took out 35% out of my income (from copies of my check) for living expenses. I own my house so I have no rent or mortgage to pay. I only have 3 Bills that dont add up to 35%!! To me a low down payment isnt 2,000 - $5,000. Waste of time and false advertising! Never again!

My credit isn’t the greatest (Student loans etc). I took a shot in the dark to try and get a car here at Drivetime . We were approved online for a super low down payment . I thought it was too good to be true. I originally worked with Micheal, he was patient with me I had my entire family with the first time we visited . We didn’t really find a vehicle that we wanted the first time (due to issues with our crying kids and with the whole awkward social distancing situation). So Micheal continued to send us lists of cars and I finally went alone, worked with Dayne this time (who was super great as well ) and left out with a 2014 Ford Escape in pretty much pristine shape . I’m super happy, totally would recommend trying this place for a vehicle. You have 5 days to return the vehicle, you have 30 days - free warranty . It was great . Of course the financing will have an up charge on the car, but the faster you pay toward the principle - the cheaper or closer to the original cost of sale you will be .I totally recommend DriveTime .

Crystal at the Tampa location was very rude. I felt that she was very biased because of my age; assuming I didn’t have credit nor any money to put down. She jumped right on the computer without explaining much of ANYTHING! I asked her twice what is being done each time she responded was with a slight attitude and would say “I’m literally typing it in the computer” or something about pulling my credit, which what was I was trying to understand. It was obviously my first time going to a dealership and she didn’t even care to make my experience enjoyable or build a relationship. Very disappointed and I was seeking to buy my car with this business. I didn’t even know want to finish getting any information from her.

When I drove into Drive Train I wasnt attacked by all the sales personnel, a real relief. Eventually, the manager came out to me and then assigned a salesperson to me. Her name is Christina Goldstein. I was very impressed with her knowledge and professionalism. I dont think there was any question that she could not answer. She stayed with me for the entire transaction including reviewing the operation of the vehicle, inside and out. All in all, the entire process was very professional and pleasant.On the negative side, vehicles should leave the dealership with a full tank of fuel, vehicle manual, and 2 sets of keys.
