I walked into the Audi Market Street Showroom, and was greeted immediately by Jon. He assisted me with all of my questions, and was extremely knowledgeable with the brand at its entirety. I was able to view the vehicle I was interested in (A4), and he also provided me with what they had in stock that met exactly what I was searching for in my dream car. I work nearby and frequently walk by but had not been inside until yesterday. Usually Im on my lunch and dont allow myself enough time to shop but recently I have been eyeing a Q5 as a birthday gift to myself. Yesterday (Friday) around 530pm after prodding and nudging from one of my employees I made the decision to go in and decide before my birthday next week. Well, I never got more than a head nod from the young man inside sitting at the desk. I sat in the car, showed my employee what I liked about it and that was that. I knew what I wanted and even commented on the different colors they come in, killing a few minutes but still no interaction from the salesman after allowing some time to see if I was approached. I do not want to make assumptions that our ethnicity had anything to do with it as two hispanic people dressed in business casual attire. However, being in mgmt and customer service myself and knowing how some sales people think (unfortunately) I could not help feeling like perhaps he thought I was shopping outside my budget? I hope not but thats the conclusion we both made. Sad since this is definitely not the case. I explained to my companion that my reason for not buying a new car is the lack of customer service I have received from TWO different dealerships in the area. I will be looking at the Audi dealer my sister purchases from in Dallas, if I do decide to go forward after this.
