Excellent job from Performance Auto Care! If youre looking for a family owned and operated place that is very honest, this is your place! There arent many places around town anymore that are truly family owned and stand behind their work. They offer anything from general repair to vehicle modifications, I understand they are beginning to do small engine repair as well. Highly recommend!!

Their customer service was good. But they charged me 1500.00 for a repair they did not complete and left me with a vehicle needing an engine replacement. If you need anything more than a brake service or an oil change do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They are not equipped to correctly diagnose anything more that a dead battery.

I took my jeep to this place it just needed a shift cable and a new battery they had it fixed in under a week and great price if you dont want to get jerked around this place is great and excellent customer service!!!

After finding out how much it would cost to fix my cars struts and sway bar links, they were very understanding about letting me take my time to figure out what I wanted to do. They were very honest with me about what was a safety matter that needed fixed vs what was something that just sounded bad and could wait. Although, she had under-quoted me (and still gave me discounts to get me the original quote she gave), their price remained competitive compared to 4 other places I called. She was honest about how long it would take to fix my car. It was done exactly when she said it would be. It only took 2-3 days, but I was okay with that, as I was told ahead of time. When I went to pick up my car, they were very friendly. I had no idea this place was a family run center. Theyve done very good work. I would go back and I would definitely recommend.

For great service in Topeka, Ill always choose Performance.

I thought that I needed a new power window motor. I was impressed by how quickly Performance Auto Care was able to get the part I needed and get me in to have it replaced, but I was even more impressed when they told me that I didnt need that part (after they had installed it) and that the window just needed to be cleaned and lubricated, so they put the original back in and only charged me for labor. This was my first visit to Performance Auto Care but Ill bring my car back because of their honesty and good job done on their work.

Mary and Tim are very friendly and always cared about explaining whats going on with the car. I was unable to get my car to start suddenly one night and Jacob was able to accurately troubleshoot the problem and provide me options for fixing my car. I had the car delivered to his shop and he had it fixed and had me back on the road in a reasonable time considering the workload over the holidays. This was my first time using Performance Auto but their staff showed courtesy, respect, and treated me like a valued customer. I will definitely be using their service the next time I need auto work, especially with their knowledge and technical skill on imports.

This family owned business had a great atmosphere in the waiting room. The mechanics worked super fast and took time to show and explain what repair had been performed. Scheduled it out and all parts were ordered after looking at my needs, no part was missed to upgrade. Secure facility to leave vehicle overnight. Performance Auto was fantastic! During my first phone call I was offered a possibility of what was wrong and was able to take it in the very same day to run tests. They got the part ordered that day. I took my car in when the part arrived and was in and out. Also added an oil change last minute! The staff are so amazing and knowledgeable!

I was considering the purchase of a classic car from a local seller in Topeka; I am located in Arizona. Since I couldnt make the trip out to Kansas to see the car in person, I searched online for a reputable mechanic with good reviews. In Performance Auto Care of Topeka, that is EXACTLY what I found! From my initial contact with Mary (so accommodating), she assisted in setting up the appointment with the seller. She kept me informed during the process of the inspection, which was handled my Jacob. Jacob was super thorough, sending me a list of the areas of concern (along with photos). Performance Auto Care assisted along the whole way, in my decision to purchase a classic car, 1100 miles away! What can I say about this place from start to finish they were absolutely amazing. Mary is just as sweet as she can be and Tim is a pure genius. He knew what was wrong with my car by just reading an email that I had sent to them a few days prior to bringing my car in to be fixed. The prices are definitely reasonable and they work very hard to get you back on the road as soon as possible. I had my car towed up there at 8 in the morning and by 2 I was picking my car up. Im so glad that I was referred to them because they have just gained a loyal customer for all of my car care needs!!!!

So I had a noisy AC compressor. I took it to mechanic shop over on Wanamaker. They quoted me $971 plus tax...new compressor.I went to Performance auto -- just needed more freon, $57 later Im out the door. Performance auto is the best, Ill be back again. Oh -- the best part -- I had the truck back in about 4 hours.

The Performance team is always helpful and knowledgeable. I took in a 2004 Ford van and they did an inspection. Changed only the battery stating that the van was well taken care of. I was impressed because they did not charged extra for the inspection. We would trust them with our other car as well.

I was looking for a place that could work on my 2008 BMW 550i as I will not let just anyone work work on it. BMWs are sophisticated pieces of machinery and Im so glad I found this place because they specialize in European cars. Theyre also very close to my house, an extra bonus! I was impressed with their service and ability to fit me right in and get me out the door quickly. This is a local family run operation which truly cares about their customers and not some corporation focused on how to improve profits. I also brought in my 2001 Honda Civic which had a rough idle and vibration issue. Both were fixed at well under their initial estimates. I could not be happier! Oh yeah, Ill be going back again!

Great service! They were very knowledgeable and professional in my dealing with them. I also appreciated the easily readable printout I received when I received their estimate. It clearly stated all of the charges for labor, parts, taxes etc... They even emailed me the estimate with one of my cars.

Had a pretty bad oil leak on my 2002 325i with about 195,000 miles on it. It needed about a quart for every tank of gas. Performance Auto Cares friendly and informative staff were able to give me a fair estimate, and install a new pan gasket for a reasonable price. They also repaired a dangerous steering condition without delay! In hindsight I probably needed a new engine, because less than a week later my engine blew the head gasket. Sound advice from Performance Auto Care suggested a new engine rather than a new head gasket.

Service is always fast, prices are fair, and they dont try to upsell to make a quick buck.

Ive called all over town to find a place to fix my cooling system on my 97 Mercedes Benz E420 everyone wanted to charge me double of what it cost to fix my car they said to replace a water pump cost the same amount to replace the engine and I said that does not sound right. so I searched a little bit and found performance auto for half the cost I was able to get my car fixed. I will continue to use Performance Auto Care because they have by far the best service in town.

I called late in the afternoon to see if we could schedule a time to come in and have them look and see what repairs needed to be done. They told me to bring it in the next day and they would try and work us in. They not only worked us in, but had the repairs done before 4pm! Awesome service!

This company is simply fabulous. I brought in a Porsch Cayenne Turbo with an engine light and sluggish performance. I was quite concerned to secure quality service and was assured all would be well as the owner actually drives the same vehicle and needless to say services his own. After some testing and road runs they needed a sensor that came in same day in the afternoon. I walked out the door for under $350.00 that would have easily been $1200 plus at a Porsche dealer. They are honorable and honest folks. If I lived here they would be my one stop shop for all my auto service. Sincerely from Detroit.

It is very important to us to have an honest mechanic to advise us on repairs that are in our best interest & not unecessary repairs that will make him money. Best vehicle repair place in Topeka, probably the best inside a 100 mile radius for that matter. If they cant repair it then no one can! Their prices are the best in town. They are quick and they actually care about YOU the customer! I brought in an old 90s Pontiac that had more issues than it was worth repairing in all honesty, but Jacob and the crew at Performance Auto Care brought it back from the dead! Runs like the day I bought it (bought it brand new by the way). If you go anywhere else you are doing yourself and your car a disservice.

TL:DR: They run a business with integrity and enough good things could not be said about them...My two experiences at Auto Care of Topeka:First time: Called around and found they had a flush machine and charged the best price I could find, I even called legitimate transmission shops that said they didnt have a flush machine and the ones that did wanted $250+. They told me I had a static trans. filter and took off the charge for the filter, which they couldve easily just charged it anyway. They realized that the fluid was really dirty, but didnt contain any metal specs that would indicate serious damage, so they went and flushed it twice for me, which again, they didnt have to do.Second time: I had a little moisture in my distributor cap or else where that was causing it to jerk and misfire, I also felt like I was burning a little too much gas, on top of that my starter was getting weak. So I took it to them and they pulled the plugs and they said they all looked relatively new, checked the alternator, and the starter was just weak and then cleared the engine light. They couldve very easily told me anything and I wouldve forked over the cash to do it but fortunately they instead didnt charge me anything.

Fantastic service they are fast & not very expensive & they work with you super honest if it dont need fixed her tells you that it dont need fixed necessarily like I say very honestly & they price fairly!!!

Ive lived here in Topeka for a large part of my life and when my wifes 2009 Mini Cooper S recently had engine problems and the closest Mini Cooper Service Center was in Kansas City, I turned to the Yellow pages in search of a reputable Automotive repair shop. After reading the story about this local family that was posted on their web site I dialed their number and spoke with Mary Johnson. I was immediately impressed by the homegrown politeness in which she spoke. Well, long story short, I took our Mini Cooper S in that afternoon and it was early the next day when Mary called back with the diagnosis. That same day the necessary parts were ordered and the day after they had arrived we were driving our Mini Cooper home. All in all the cost was below all other quotes that I had been given by all other auto service centers I had called. Great experience! Staff was friendly and effecient. The estimate given prior to taking my vehicle in was accurate come check out time. The mechanics were awesome and answered any questions and explained things in detail. I was also notified of 2 minor things that will need to be fixed in time. Professional, friendly, honest family operated auto shop. The Johnsons are enthusiastic and take pride in the quality of their work. They were able to quickly and affordably repair the A/C in a ’99 GMC Sierra that has been in multiple other shops for the same issue. When finished the A/C was so cold it frosted the windows on a hot summer day! The technicians even found a few issues with the truck that I was unaware of and repaired at no cost. I have taken other vehicles to their shop and have always had quick service and explanations of exactly what was done to the vehicles. Highly recommended!
