AMAZING SERVICE! I was traveling through Topeka on business and my engine ran into some serious troubles. I explained the situation to the mechanics and they were extremely nice, timely, and professional. They got the ignition coil replaced within 24 hours and at a more than fair price. Car is still running great. Very kind and knowledgeable folks. WOULD RECOMMEND!

Highly recommend!! My friend had to get back to Texas and her brakes started going out and this was the only place in town that was willing to work on her car so she could get going back home in time. Very nice people, with reasonable pricing as well.

My AC hasn’t been working in my car so I gave them a call. When my daughter and I came in they quickly did a complementary inspection and even gave my daughter a doll while we were waiting. Everyone seems super friendly and helpful!

I live out of state and needed to have my back breaks replaced before driving 850 miles back home. Several other places told me they could not do it. When I called Mike was very kind and had me come right over and had me back on the road within an hour. I would highly recommend him to everyone.

On our return trip from southern Utah to Indianapolis, one of our car’s cylinders started misfiring about 30 miles outside Topeka. We called Shorey and were immediately told to bring our car in. Once we arrived it was apparent that they were slammed but they made time for us anyway. They were very honest and transparent about what work needed to be done and the cost of parts/labor. They even gave us a ride to and from the nearest hotel, since we had to spend the night to wait for the car to be ready. The car was ready hours before the original estimated time, and now the engine runs beautifully. It was difficult to stay sad or stressed about our mid-road trip mishap when we were met with such kindness, hospitality, and honesty. If you live in Topeka, you will be lucky to have Shorey be your hometown mechanic. If you are a weary traveler, you will be taken care of very well!

Stopped overnight in Topeka. Next morning I discovered a serious radiator leak. Called one local service who said they could look at it, but had no idea if they could fix it. I next called Shorey Automotive. The owner explained that his techs were already busy, but he would look at it and if he could, he would fix it himself to get me back on the road. Met him a few minutes later, and we agreed that I had holed the radiator (stray rock most likely). He had a replacement radiator ordered, and tore into it. A few hours later, the new radiator was in and the truck was back in great working order. He went out of his way to help us get back on the road. If you find your in need of a mechanic, I would suggest you give him a call. Definitely 5 star service.

I was on my way to Colorado with 3 kids and a dog. My jeep was vibrating quite a bit as I was driving down the highway. I was coming through Topeka and was calling auto shops to take a look at it. It was already later in the day and I wasnt having any luck. I called Shorey and while they werent able to fix what I thought was an issue that afternoon, they were happy to take a look and let me know what the problem was. The owner came out and drove my vehicle around and knew immediately it was the rugged tires I have that were making it drive the way it was. He looked them over as well and confirmed. Mike is a super nice guy, didnt charge me, and was very helpful. I was really appreciative, and he was able to give me peace of mind as I continued on our trip. I live about 45 minutes from them and will definitely go back to them.

Found Mike’s shop after googling “best mechanic Topeka” and I have to tell you that Google’s algorithm didn’t fail on this result. Spoke to Mike the owner after a couple back and forth conversations on the best option for our Yukon XL which had blown an engine. His honesty and 30+ years of experience was apparent on the first phone call.But even more impressive was his honesty when I told him what we were being quoted from a competitor and he walked me through the quote and said “honestly, that price is a fair one and tough to beat, I’d go with them.”In today’s world, it’s refreshing to have a conversation with an honest business owner like Mike, all of my future car repairs will be headed his way.

Mike, did a wonderful job, replacing a bolt from our family car license plate, that took fifteen minutes, he has a great, kind personality, and would consider, Mike of Shortys five star work.

What a great place, I had my auto glass go out did not want it to sit over night without a window. I went by Shoreys and Mike gave me a great quote said he could get it in right then, said it would take two hours . They took it in right then and had it done within an hour in a half or less . My son and I broke down 25 miles west of Topeka on route to Colorado from Michigan. We had our ‘96 Lexus LX450 towed to Shorey after finding good reviews online. We are very happy with all aspects of the service. They found a way to fit us in so we could quickly get back on our road trip. They were able to identify the issue fairly quickly (small, hard to reach coolant system hose had failed) and then find a suitable replacement (despite the lack of availability of exact parts due to the car’s age). We were back on the road in about 3 hours. I really appreciate the way they talked us through everything and engaged with us in the process. I feel very confident in the repair and the price was very reasonable.

Check engine light consistently on. Local dealership had in for service numerous times. Kept finding something different to charge me for but never solved the check light problem. Took my van into Shorey. Justin and his incredible mechanics did a diagnostic, found the problem and fixed it! Addressed other issues and corrected them. Read great reviews about Shorey and now I’m a believer! Used to have concerns about long-distance driving with my van but Shorey renewed my confidence with assurance that my van is definitely road-ready! I had my Honda towed there, Shorey’s told me they would be on the lookout for it, and the tow company handed over the keys to them without me having to be there.Mike called me with not so good news. With concern and care in his voice he told me my vehicles’ situation and the options I had. When I asked him what he thought I should do, he said he didn’t feel comfortable guiding my decision. The next step: My engine needed to be tested, a $500+ service to which he explained could result in nothing more than telling me my engine was no good. In that moment, If I had been at the wrong place in Topeka, and unfortunately there are too many wrong places, my vulnerability would have, cost me $500. I didn’t know what to say. Even though I knew my vehicle was in bad shape I was still shell shocked at the realization that the cost for me to diagnose and repair my vehicle outweighed it’s value. So he continued by reassuring me that he wanted to work on my vehicle, that work, especially that kind of work brings in the $$ for his shop. But more than money, he valued his reputation for providing quality service with integrity and concern for his customers. And moving forward could have very well ended up putting me in a worse situation.They told me my vehicle was safe with them and to take my time on making a decision. I had to go to the shop to get the tag the next day as I was going to look at a vehicle my mom had found to replace my Honda with. I then told them I had decided to not move forward with servicing the vehicle, I asked them for advice on what to do with the vehicle as I had no idea. They proceeded to enlighten me on a service that would end up saving me another tow cost/the burden of having my lifeless vehicle’s body sit on my property, AND profit me 460 dollars from my vehicle.And there’s more...they told me to not worry about the vehicle being there. To take the next week to call around and figure out what to do with it.It is only now, that I finally am relieved of, my several month long car issue, that I realize how significant Shorey Automotive’s role was at fixing my problem, by not fixing my vehicle.The reality of my current financial situation is this. Had I lost even 500 dollars to testing my engine, I’d not have been able to afford the replacement vehicle. My situation easily would have likely spiraled out of control, poor work attendance, job loss, failure to pay rent, eviction. Mike and his team at Shorey’s have earned my trust, respect, and admiration. I can say now, that there’s only one place I will take my vehicle for repairs; Shorey Automotive in Topeka, Kansas.

I went to one garage here in town to fix my brakes they said everything needed to be replaced and it would cost $1200. I left and drove to Shorey and they told me exactly what i needed done and it was under $500. The staff was amazing and super nice. I had a wonderful experience

I came in for an oil change and brake check, I got to listen in to the conversations between the owner and some of the techs/customers. They were honest with me, fair with others, and reasonable with cost. I was very impressed.

I highly recommend Shorey Automotive. I went in to get my brakes/rotors replaced. I believe I had this same thing done about 2 and half years before at Shorey. Even though the labor was not still under warranty, they comped parts and labor because they felt the rotors should have held up better over that period of time. Wow! I was expecting a pretty good sized bill, but that was not the case. They will have my business with every vehicle I ever own.

We just bought a new 2019 mustang out of St. Louis and we were heading back to Denver when our exhaust came apart. (A new exhaust had been installed by the previous owner.) I called Shoreys and asked if we could pop in at 4 pm so they could reconnect it for us and Justin said absolutely!!! The crew was very helpful and got us on our way in less then 30 minutes! My wife is healthcare worker and came out of a surgery to a flat tire. I was able to raise the car, get the lug-nuts off but the tire was stuck on. I called around and Shorey was the only one willing to come help me get this tire off. They were incredibly quick, professional and compassionate. I would highly recommend them for any service!

My truck broke down when I was travelling through town. These guys worked hard to get me back on the road as fast as possible. Mike and Justin are great service writers. I called thirty minutes after they had closed, and the staff answered the phone with both courtesy and application. I had my car towed to their shop, and they quickly diagnosed the exact problem. They have not charged me for either the quick diagnosis or three day storage while I took care of the rest. Absolutely amazing mechanics, I cannot recommend highly enough.

Shorey Automotive did an Awesome job on my car in a timely manner. Even though it was a simple oil change they verified everything was to spec. They are very detail oriented and even replaced 3 screws to the splash guard under my car that were missing. Not to mention I also got a great Veterans discount.

Shorey is a great shop. I brought my car there after it broke down on a Saturday. They were closed, but Mark took my call and had someone meet the tow truck at the shop. I had my car towed there because about a year ago Mark had searched around and gotten me a good price on a starter. That Monday he called me early in the morning to let me know itd blown a rod and I needed a new engine. Hed already called the dealership and told me they might replace the engine under warranty. I had it towed there, and sure enough the dealership was able to put a new engine in my car for free. Marks research saved me several thousand dollars. He couldve done the work himself, but he wanted to find me the best deal. Shorey will always be the first place I take my car.

Absolutely the best repair shop and exceptional customer service. While traveling east on Interstate 70, near Topeka Kansas, we experience car trouble in our Sprinter RV. What could have been a nightmare ended up being a refreshing renewal of our faith in mankind. Mike and his crew went above and beyond to help us get back on the road as quickly as possible. He needed to order parts from Kansas City. But he helped us find accommodations and then made our repair a priority once the part arrived. I recently took my car in because of a vibration in the front end. Mark called me to let me know there was nothing mechanically wrong with the car and that it was safe to drive. They spent a lot of time checking it out. They did not try to sell me something I didnt need. I have always been treated fairly. They do a great job! I highly recommend their shop.

Years ago, a friend recommended I take my truck to Shorey Automotive, and ever since then, its the only place I will take my vehicles. Mike (the owner) is a stand up honest man, who will not do or recommend repairs that arent needed or necessary. He will look deep into the problems you are having, and explain in detail what he and his crew finds before performing any work on it. Mike personally was looking at my last receipt, and realized that something on there that I had been charged for, was something that they had decided didnt need to be done, so they didnt perform the task, but was accidentally left on the work order. But instead of easily letting me just walk out having paid for something that hadnt been done, that I never wouldve even realized, Mike told me that he saw a mistake in my bill, and personally gave me cash back for it. The kind of professionalism, courtesy, and honesty you will receive here, is top notch, and I highly recommend you bring your auto repair/maintenance needs to Shorey Automotive.

Great people to work with. They fixed the rear end on my f150 and the price was almost 100 dollars lower than they quoted. And they also fixed the parking brake while they had it apart. Mark was very good with explaining what was wrong with the truck, they were able to give me a ride to and from work while they fixed it during the day. My family and I recently moved to the Topeka area from out of state. It is always hard to find a doctor, mechanic, and dentist you can trust. I feel very thankful to have found Shorey Automotive. Mike is a very honest mechanic/businessman. He has a very skilled staff of knowledgeable mechanics who know how to work on everything. In the past, I have always had my vehicle serviced only at the Lexus dealership. However, I felt like I was always leaving with more work then was necessary. I certainly believe in preventative maintenance and so does Mike, but he will never have you do something on your vehicle that would be considered unnecessary. Shorey Automotive has gone way out of their way to take care of me and my familys vehicles and to make sure we are in great mechanical shape! My rv broke down over the 4th of July weekend. I called at 1 am Saturday and got a response and they had me in first thing Monday morning and had me on the road by noon .Very professional and I would highly recommend them!

I was traveling from Missouri to Colorado by myself with my 5 kids when my car started shaking pretty bad. Scared, (because I just had a shady mechanic shop rip me off and damage my car worse than fix it) I brought my vehicle here for a safety check and I couldnt of been more impressed with the help and honesty they provided. Not only did they squeeze me in quickly without an appointment but They inspected my vehicle and told me it was just a bad tire, referred me to a tire shop and on top of it all did not charge me for looking at it.... The staff was very knowledgeable, and it ended up being less than I was originally quoted. They did find a couple other things that would need to be fixed eventually, but nothing immediate, and I was given a quote for those additional services for when I come back again. And Ill definitely be back!

Took my vehicle up for a knocking noise and Mark and Mike took great care of me! My car was still under warranty and they took handled all of the paper work and dealt directly with my warranty company with out putting me in the middle. They were polite and knowledgeable and never left me in the dark. They explained everything, answered all my questions and never blew me off, no matter how many times I called asking for updates. They even helped me get the best price for the repair. My car is running great and I couldnt be happier with their services.

Best shop in Topeka they get your whatever you have in and out of there shop in about 2 to 4 days Max. The problem is professionally fixed. Cheaper is not always better and trust me prices are fair work is top notch and time is perfect. I called about 8 different locations in Topeka asking about oil changes. Shorey was the most friendly and didnt make me feel stupid because I knew nothing about cars! The guys were great and wonderful to talk to while I waited. It was lunchtime and they even brought me a plate of food, which was fantastic! Shop local, I would recommend Shorey to everyone; same price, better service.

I took my daughters car there not knowing if it was going to be salvageable or not. They gave me sound advice and when I decided to park the car out graciously helped me get the automobile onto a trailer and spent time they didn’t have to on it. Wouldn’t except a payment for their time and trouble for evaluating and helping. Mark is a Straight shooter

This place is amazing!! After calling around to find the best service and reasonable price, even giving me a discount on parts. They were able to take care of my car immediately called in the parts and worked until the job was done. In and out really fast and the service advisor was great and very honest/efficient. Had a timing belt changed and Mark and Mike really did a great job. They had the best price, great service and back their work 100%. I will be a return customer, it is tough to find honest, experienced and friendly technicians - I have certainly found it at Shorey Automotive.

I have gone to Mike for years. Six different cars. Without exception he has always been more then reasonable. Shorey has worked on everything from my wifes BMW to my Cadillac. Honest work for honest pay. A 3000.00 dollar estimate from the Cadillac dealership cost just over 1000.00 at Shorey. Customer for life.

Earlier this week I found myself locked out of my car. I happened to be in the vicinity of Shorey Automotive so took a chance and asked if anyone could possibly help. The nicest man who I think is the owner, came out with his tools and got into my car in a way that I never would have thought of! And he would not let me pay him! Kudos to Shorey Automotive for helping a dingy damsel in distress!

I bought my car off Craigslist and noticed it had a few minor issues that needed attention. I took the car to my usual mechanic and he inspected it and determined that it needed new brakes and rotors. Well, after spending the money on that work, the cars issues still remained. A few weeks later I brought it to Shorey Automotive to get a second opinion. I brought the car in at 7:30 a.m. on a weekday. They provided me with a loaner car and got me on my way quickly, and by 8:30 a.m. they were calling me to let me know their diagnosis. Several different issues were found that my old mechanic never caught or mentioned to me, and service manager Mark let me know which issues needed immediate attention and which things were so minor they could be put off a while. I gave the okay to fix what he recommended and by 3:00 p.m. that same day the car was fixed and drives like a dream! The cost of the repairs was fair and very much on-point with what a few other cheaper mechanics in the area had quoted me for the work.Ill definitely be bringing all our vehicles back to Shorey for future maintenance, and highly recommend their work! I couldnt be more pleased with the quick and professional service I received here.

I have been taking my vehicles to Shorey for over 20 years. The service is always very satisfactory. As a single woman it is nice to fully trust the work that is done at Shorey. They always let you know if there are bigger problems without just fixing it.

Dont take Mini or aftermarket parts here. Called them to see if they could install a reduction pulley on my mini, said on the phone they could, but bring it in to confirm, front desk guy and mechanic kept on going out to car trying to figure out what went where, etc,. Dont think they were sure about how install part? They finally came in and mechanic asked me why was I changing out this pulley? I said more horsepower, he then commenced to telling me he didnt recommend it, then further insulted me and said I should just pack up everything I had bought (aftermarket parts) and ship it back, that they(supplier of parts) didnt care about me and just wanted my money. Made me feel like a complete fool. If they didnt know how to install it they should have just told me so over phone, and not wasted both of ours time. Front desk guy was nice.

I was road-tripping through Kansas when my car broke down. Shorey Automotive happened to be nearby, and when my car was towed in, they worked on diagnosing it right away. Mike and Mark seemed caring and honest. In the end, due to a variety of factors, I decided not to pursue the repairs Shorey recommended, and Mike gave me a ride to a nearby rental car location. I appreciate the help they gave to this stranger from out of town and wish them much continued success!

Great local shop! Fast and efficient!

My car was making a bad sound and I called Shorey and they got me in to look at my car within 15 minutes! They drove my car and immediately diagnosed it with loose lugnuts. They took it back to the garage immediately and fixed them. Shorey Automotive was quick, professional, and gave me a very reasonable price. Will be returning for all my car needs!

Overpriced.

Shorey takes care of Trinity Team LLC fleet vehicles. They go out of their way to get our trucks in and out, so we are able to meet our customers expectations. They do the same for my personal vehicle. Honesty is the best policy, and they have it. They will tell you what you need and how soon you need it and they are not just up selling. Thank you guys!
