It hardly had anybody to assist you I was looking for a black long dress with sleeves and there werent any one to help you so there was this one customer that said well the dressing rooms are open you can go right in I said ok I will so went to try a dress I was kindly a person to take it by the door to hang the clothes I had with me but there were other clothes in the dressing room too nope no help no anybody around to help you with anything it seems it was dead place

It was easy ordering and pickup was easy. My only disappointment was when I got this bedspread home and opened it up it reeked of a bad odor that smells like urine. Not happy about that. But, the bedspread is beautiful as advertised.

Was glad to see it was still open. Its located in a mostly abandoned mall that use to be full of people and shoppers. It seemed Jcpenney was understaffed but most places are. It was nice to touch feel quality of clothes and to try them on instead of endless Amazon shop and return. The lady at check out was really nice and was working alone with a long line. I know there isnt the huge selection as shopping online but when you walk out you know you will keep what you buy. Try and support these old establishment before its to late.

No girls size 4-14 in store. Went in with my daughter to shop for a couple of back to school outfits last weekend and almost the entire girls dept was empty. Id suggest looking online, but even then you cant guarantee that youll find anything or receive IF you do find and order something.

Was disappointed to say the least.Clothes were strewn(unfolded) in piles on the tables, final sales markdown posters everywhere, carpets on floor were loose and severely stained.This store reminded me of a Kmart in the 1980s!Sad to see what JC Penny has become.John 14:6

The store is in the shopping mall with most businesses closed the JCPenneys there is in disrepair and needs attention

The top floor sucked and was a little messy. At least the bottom floor has a ton of stuff going on

I worked there when I was in high school from August 2019 to March 2020. They are great and amazing people to work for but you dont have that great job stability because they are in constant fear of getting shut down for not selling enough. They usually start between $8.00-9.50 an hour for regular associates.

I have always liked shopping at Penneys. The store is clean, I know where the items are that I want. Prices are good. Unfortunately they have cut back on staff and one lady was covering the cash register in the mens dept. and working the floor making sure that the customers are finding what they looking for. Probably the sad thing is that with only one person trying to do the job of 3 employees she never got a raise. Overall I have always been satisfied with Penneys.Roy Knisley

THIS STORE IS SO DISORGANIZED & INCOMPETENT, BOUGHT 4 DRESSES ONLINE, ALL WAS RETURNED . 2 OF THE ITEMS WAS RE-ORDER FOR DIFFERENT SIZE, I RECEIVED THE 2 ITEMS AND KEEP THEM, THEN I RETURNED 1 ITEM (out of 2) BUT IT ALREADY SHOWED I HAVE RECEIVED CREDIT FOR IT And I HAVE PAID FOR 2 ITEMS ONLINE FOR THE PRICE OF 1 ITEM, BOTH JCPENNEY STORE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ARE USELESS, NONE OF THEM CANT FIGURED IT OUT WHY I HAVE CREDIT FOR AN ITEM THAT JUST RECENTLY RETURNED, I WILL NEVER,NEVER, EVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN, FOR $34.99 +tax, I GUESS THEY NEEDED MORE THAN I DO .

Good clothes that are easy to see except in the clearance section, wich had the racks very packed and completely unorganized. It was difficult to take clothes off the rack because of how full they were. Some clothes were on the ground and similar clothes were not near eachother. This was only a problem in the clearance section, everywhere else was great.

Very beautiful clothing, usually always out of stock on what I need unfortunately.

Unfortunately due to increased online shopping i can see a decline in the inventory and overall shopping experience.

We bought two wedding rings here. After 26 yrs of marriage I finally got the ring of my dreams with the help of the staff at Penneys. The girls were patient & helpful. I found the perfect ring that I deserved & earned after so many years of marriage! As it happened, I lost my beautiful huge expensive diamond wedding ring & was broken hearted. We waited about a year then went back to Penneys to buy a replacement 2nd wedding ring & hopefully the last! I am so happy with my choice & the girls were just as happy & glad to help us the second time. As a side note, I found my FIRST wedding ring at home very unexpectedly which is crazy as now I HAVE BOTH MY BEAUTIFUL WEDDING RINGS AND AM DOUBLY HAPPY WITH MY PENNEYS WEDDING RINGS!! THANK YOU GIRLS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!

Selection was good but their BIG SATURDAY SALE had stuff selling for 20-35% HIGHER than i cant find it elsewhere. NOT much of a sale when the sales prices are higher than the competition!UPDATE: Just went in for this sale.. its supposed to be really big. I had looked at a necklace several weeks back, and thought that i should go back today, during the sale and get it. they just marked the necklace UP by nearly $100 just so they could mark it down. Typical. Its not the first time they have done this and they do it on clothing too. Check Google for JCPenney marks up clothing before putting them on sale, investigation reveals

I order products online that showed in stock and pickup the same day. Went to pick up my items the next day at 12pm. Was told everyone was still in a meeting and my items wasnt unpacked yet and to come back at 5pm. If its in stock, why is it packaged? Why did it show same day pick up? Last time I will purchase from this store.

The Penneys store in Topeka is great! They have phenominal sales & coupons. You may not get an abundance of Sales Associates asking you if you need help. However if you ask one to help you, they are more than happy to do so. 😁

Employees are hard to find! Intimate section is sparse like their going out of business. Couldnt find my size in the item I wanted to purchase and there was no one in that department to assist. I love this store and their products, but I may have to look elsewhere to get service.

I had to take a bracelet to the Topeka, Wanamaker, JCPenneys jewelry counter for repair today. The clasp would not stay fastened and in or falling off of my arm, a diamond came out. Wed purchased the lifetime warranty, so all will be fixed at no charge.- After taking care of that issue, the young woman asked if she could clean my rings for me. They came out beautifully.- Excellent customer service.- Concerned about the bracelet clasp giving way on my beautiful bracelet after only three weeks of wear.

Id say one of the best stores left in the mall except for their customer service was absolutely rude and nobody would even ask me if I needed help with anything

Found two really cute dresses that had the this is perfect look I was looking for.

My wife and I went to purchase 2 appliances. When we arrived at the dept. There was no one around, mind you we were up stairs. We went to several different check outs, but no one was there either. No prices on any of the boxes, so we took one of the items we wanted to purchase, back down stairs for a price check. The young girls at the cashiers desk, were aloof, VERY into their own conversations, I guess that was more important than paying customers. We purchased only one of the items we wanted and went to Wal Mart where one expects to be treated like that.

Saved us when we needed quick dress clothes for a tall and thin individual. They have his size online when nobody else does too and its affordable.

Unfortunately, staffing is low and no one to ask questions. Sadly, it is going the way of most brick and mortar stores. I like being able to view and choose what I want to buy, but not enough to deal with corporate offices that cannot do a better job of staffing and ensuring the store is kept up with a variety of goods for ALL types of people.

My go to store. I like their athletic wear. And they have fashionable wear even in bigger sizes.
