Ive lived in or very close to Topeka for a long time. Im so sad I didnt try this place sooner! Its extremely tasty. Chili and sandwich are simple, but tasty, with generous portions and really hit the spot. Now I understand the hype!

Eat here everytime on way to Colorado. Mom and pop shop for sure. Best service ever. Always gives me extra supplies for the trip. 5 star all day.

Just 6 stars. A true gem. Chili is to die for, hot pickles are soaked in fresh horseradish. Again incredible. Since its an hour and half away I come hungry. Chili, ham sandwich with pepper jack cheese, 2 pickles, and a pimento cheese sandwich. I get jugs of chili and hot pickles to go. Last of a true 6 star relic in a burger King world. Hope it stays forever.

Its an old fashioned place with old fashioned values the nicest people there you ever met the chili is delicious and they have cheeses that you just cant find anywhere like ghost pepper cheese and horseradish cheese and the history of the place is really cool

I went to get pickles, as those are the best. If you like horse radish, that is. These pickles will open your sinuses and are fantastic in deviled eggs or bloody marys.They also sell head cheese thinking i might try it. I learned that there is no cheese in head cheese and it is made from all the left over parts. Including snouts, feet, brains, etc. I did not get any, but some people must like it.

I love the meats here. Arbys has nothing on the meats at this diamond. Its a they have the best customer service. every time Im in there they smile. Theyve prayed with me. Ive even asked one of them to ask Jesus into their heart. So I got to pray with them and they met the Lord and the holy Spirit came into them it was beautiful. Please support this place.

I went here for lunch today, I walked in and felt like I walked back into time. Back when everything was right in the world. The customer service was very good. The sandwich and soda was together under $6! the sandwich was over 2 thick and I couldnt believe that it and a soda was only $5.98 I believe. It is a cash only place but I am perfectly okay with that for the experience I had! Great Job you all!! I even felt the need to share it on social media so I hope they get a lot of business.

This place is advertised as Polish yet no Polish food is served. It is dubbed as being in the heart of Little Russia yet no such evidence of this exists. Additionally, Russians and Poles are very different and Im quite frankly appalled. Mayor De La Isla brought me here in her Topeka magazine, and she should know better being from cosmopolitan New York. Felt like I was pranked today only its Halloween not April fools day. smh.

In little Russia in North Topeka cold cuts meats and various kinds of cheeses and world famous hot pickles beer and fresh chili Monday thru Thursday. Been around since 1947.

Stopped nearby to photograph trains, was hungry and went in and got a fantastic cold plate to go...excellent price, quickly served (although everyone was so friendly and nice and interesting I would have liked to stay longer)it had four kinds of deli meat and two kinds of cheese and two kinds of pickles as well as whole wheat bread all wrapped up nice and neat and easy to carry...even came with mustard and mayonnaise. the chili smelled fantastic, I wish I could have stayed and chatted with everyone a bit longer

Step back in time in this good old fashioned deli (43 years in business) with the best sandwiches around. You wont go away hungry and you cant beat the price. Dont forget their homemade hot pickles, a local favorite. So is the late Mrs. Porubskys famous chili, served from Fall through winter. Homeade ham salad and homeade pimento cheese always follow me home for some good eating later on! You definitely will not be disappointed here!!!

Bucket List item for years. Did not disappoint. Of course I got the cold cut plate and extra Porubsky Hot Pickles. Beer was Cold. Everything just so damn good. Go here as fast as you can.

This is one of the culinary wonders of Kansas, and with good reason. Their sandwiches are unique and piled high with fresh sliced meats of all sorts. They even let us sample some souse, which we had never heard of before! Very cool. The bread and veggies are nothing special, but the meats and cheeses are out of this world. Plus, HOT PICKLES! Truly eye-watering heat...you gotta try these! Make sure you step down to the bar area and take a look at all the Kansas dignitaries and local heroes that have been part of the crowd dining at Porubsky’s for decades. We didn’t get a drink here, but the bar has that perfect unpretentious neighborhood vibe where you are welcomed as family. Don’t miss it!

Porubskys is a quaint mom and pop deli and grocery. They are famous for their hot pickles. The pickles are spiced up with horseradish. I like to get the homemade ham salad. It is the best. The sandwiches are always huge for the $4 they cost. I have never tried it, but the chilli gets order often and I hear others praise it. I recommend trying this place at least once.

The real deal old time small grocery and sandwich bar. Not pretenses here. Friendly people serving up basic sandwiches.

We had chili and a cold plate, and it was so good. The hot pickles are a long time favorite among customers. The chili is great, but its seasonal and even then not served on Friday or Saturday, so if you want that famous chili, plan accordingly.

From the Governor, to police officers, to even sanitation department workers... all people enjoy a good Coldplate (and when the season is correct) some of Porubskys chili. Do not forget their world famous hot pickles!

I enjoy this little place. Its nothing too fancy but they have to be doing something right as they are in their 71st year of business. My son and I had chili and shared what they call a cold plate. Thats a plate of various sliced meat and cheeses with bread, condiments and pickles, both regular and their house made hot pickles. Think wasabi more than hot peppers with the pickles. If youre up for a lunch time dining adventure, give this place a try.

I visited for the 1st time to try the famous pickles; I didnt have much cash and they only accept cash. The nice man working took what I had($2). I will definitely go back!

I love this little hidden gem. I always stare in disbelief when people tell they have never been. Its a bit rough around the edges but thats part of the charm. First and foremost this is a deli. They have a variety of meats and breads. They also have their own hot pickle that will clear your sinuses. During the colder months they have chili as well. I prefer corned beef on rye. The sandwiches are large and cheap. Give this place a try. You wont be disapointed.

This place is wonderful. The lady who helped us was so cool! Her daddy opened this place 70 years ago. A place doesnt stay open that long if it sucks and this place deffently does not suck! I will become a staple.

This is a true locals place that wont wow you with fancy decor, but they do it right when it comes to lunch meat, pickles and chili. My favorite is the cold plate special and a bowl of chili in the winter. Take a little extra time and wander over to the deli to see what they have in the cooler and take a pint of hot pickles home. Bring cash and dont go on Friday for chili, because you wont get any!

We go here Everytime were in Topeka, my son loves the liverwurst sandwich, I get the head cheese and bologna sandwich. This is a must see place and you have to try it. Porubskys is run by great people and it is rich in history. One of my favorite places in Kansas.
