A big box store referred me to True Value since they didnt have what I was looking for. A gentleman asked me if I needed help within a few steps of entering which I appreciated as I had never been in the store before. He helped me look for a bit and we decided what I was looking for was not to be found. When I was leaving a sign said to exit through the checkout. I was having a little trouble finding it when he said, Are you following the arrows? I replied I thought I was, but as I was correcting myself I overheard him and the customer he was working with make fun of me for not knowing where to go. Its a shame that I will not step foot back in this store as I genuinely try to shop small businesses.

They have a surprising variety of goods for a non-big box hardware store. The name has changed to Nuts and Bolts Hardware. Still associated with True Value Hardware chain. Recently completed a rearrangement of store, moving service desk to front of store and updating nut and bolt display. As a downtown resident I appreciate not having to travel west to the big box stores to get what I need.

The smallest parts are what keep things together and this store is most likely gonna carry it ... There is a lot to depend on them for ... Friendly, helpful staff await You.

Terrible service and shady business. Went in today for 3 10 sections of 1/2 schedule 40 pvc, marked $2.99 on the shelf and they tried to charge me $5 per piece. They refused to sell it for the price marked so I went to lowes and paid $2 per piece. Ill never go back to Roachs after this.

The staff members are very nice there. I went in today to get off a lock on my on my topper he came out with all the pills that he needed and took it off and gave it to me didnt charge me anything and said whenever it gets done bring it back at all put it on for you

The absolute sweetest staff! Always willing to help you find something or give you some house-fixing advice. They are limited on merchandise but covers pretty much everything. I prefer this location to the one on 29th and California. Just nicer management.

My Great-Grandmother worked here and there are still folks on staff that remember her. My point being that this is a long established local business with institutional knowledge and loyal customers and staff. I prefer to spend my money here more than any other hardware store when I can. The attention and advice you receive cannot be beat. Ive often visited with wild ideas and no vernacular to accurately describe exactly how or what I want. Im always met with patience, ingenuity, and even enthusiasm. Even though they are under the True Value corporate umbrella, theyre roots are deep in the community and thats something you cannot measure by quantitative ranking systems. Go see what I mean.

A friend if mine needed a vacuum belt that wasnt in stock. They had no problem ordering it for her. 3 weeks later it came in and it was the wrong one. Tried to return it and vacuum guy was very rude and told me it is the right one and she will not get her money back..only store credit because he wasnt going to eat the cost if it. Now why would u want to have a store credit b if they treat u like this. Never ever will I shop at Roach Hardware AGAIN!!

The store clerk could not be bothered to look up from his phone to ring me up. When I finally got his attention he scanned my purchases in without putting them in a bag or even offering to do so. I tried to point out a mistake on the credit card slip and he interrupted me by saying that he knows how to do his job. I tried to clarify because it was a legitimate mistake and he interrupted me again saying the same thing. This store used to have amazing customer service, but it looks like thats not a concern of theirs anymore. Too bad... I will have to spend my hard-earned money at a big-box discount store.
