Extremely caring staff at the Totowa NJ vision center. I broke my glasses and Joshua searched for an extensive period of time trying to find a pair of frames that would work so we could just insert my lenses. We were unable to locate suitable frames. He was extremely patient. I made the decision to get a new pair as these were quite old. He and Carl (rep) worked with me to find a suitable pair both price wise and appearance. Carl explained all options available to me. The center is also extremely clean and well organized. I highly recommend them and will be returning for future glasses
Confirmed my appointment with their Paramus office who called the day before, gave them my insurance info and everything was fine. Go to my appointment the next day and they tell me my insurance is inactive and I can pay $115 for an exam out of pocket! Immediately said no, went to my car and looked up my insurance info, which said active. Then found another eye doctor who was able to book me and verify that my insurance was active and they had no idea what this office was talking about. They told the other guy in the waiting room that his insurance was inactive too and he would have to pay $225 out of pocket for his exam. So I wonder if that was wrong too...
First, let me say that me and my family have been coming to this location for our annual eye exams for over 15 years. The doctors are excellent but the staff is not equipped to handle new contact lense users, particularly anyone who is nervous about it. I had to make 3 appointments until I could get one in which they could accomodate a contact lense “training”. At the onset of our appointment, one of the staff angrily told the lady who was helping us “ you better hurry up because they only get 15 minutes and if she tries too many times she’s going to irritate her eye!” To which my 13-year-old daughter started panicking thinking something was going to happen negative to her eye. I looked at the other lady after the one angry lady left and said that was totally not the way to talk to somebody who’s nervous about getting contacts. And she informed me that the lady was just angry because she had gone over in her previous appointment. My daughter had a tough time putting on the contact lenses from then on out. Then I got accosted by a manager who didn’t like that I was upset with the lady who after about 10 minutes came back over to remind us that we only had 15 minutes For the appointment. I pointed out to her that I did not believe that this was good customer service. I don’t ever recall a time in my life when I’ve gone for an eye exam and somebody was trying to push me out the door the minute I showed up. While I love the doctors I am so disgusted with some of the staff members At this location that I just collected all of our prescriptions and we’re going to go to another eyeglass place to get her contacts and glasses. They’re not the only show in town but they certainly do act like it. Too bad!
Very clean...follows protocol well. The Dr Kim was very good.Josh was very helpful with clarifying our benefits & selecting glasses. The Carl who did the fitting took his time and double checked.Great experience!Went back for our sons eyeglasses & we received excellent customer service from Claude. He researched our insurance options, make recommendations & we are very pleased with his service.
Second time I buy glasses there. Nice facility, the eye exam is very well done, the glasses have been great. This time, the lens was not right when they received it and their quality control caught it before having me come to pick up defective glasses. Very happy with the experience.

This is a worst place to go. 6 months after visiting the store, I received a bill which has no account number, no invoice number, no instructions on how to pay bill. All they have is a store number. I called store ad conveyed my concerns that the bill/invoice i received does not even have a basic information. Rather being sorry or helping me to reach out to right people, store person kept saying that it is their billing department she cant do anything about it. It was rude as they were not ready to help. Moreover bill says FIRST NOTICE. I do not know what they mean by this but this is below standard place to visit
After my annual eye exam on 09Jan2021, Claude assisted me with the purchase of my new glasses. Although I’ve been wearing progressive lens for several years, I was interested to learn about the new blue light anti-reflective coating – Claude was a wonderful teacher! He was enthusiastic about the product, demonstrated the improvement over the standard coating, and discussed the benefits – all in a friendly, informative manner.
Stopped for adjustment and Khuloud helped me.She was very friendly and made my glasses fit perfectly!!! I would definitely recommend this location! Great service.

Both Josh & Claude explained everything to us thoroughly, in some cases more than once, to make sure we understood our eye issues, insurance coverage, & any costs incurred. I would highly recommend their services to my friends & family.

Took my teenage daughter for new glasses today. We were helped by Claude who was amazing!! He found her the frames she wanted in the color she wanted. He was very helpful using insurance and fitting her Rx. We have used other eye glass retailers in the past but I will now be a Pearl Vision customer!!
I purchased a pair of glasses with Burberry frames two years ago. During my initial visit the staff was friendly and helpful. A couple of days ago the left side of my frame became really loose. I was unsure how this happened. I take great care of my glasses always putting them away when Im not wearing them. I returned to the store and explained that my frames were broken after only two years. The employee was very care free and unapologetic. He stated that the spring had broken and there was nothing that they could do about it. I explained that I spent over $800 out pocket (not including what my insurance paid) for these glasses and expected them to last for more than just two years. He responded that these things happen. I have worn glasses for most of my life and have never had a pair that have only lasted for two years (especially after paying the type of money I paid). I expected quality and value for my money and instead now have a pair of unwearable glasses that cost me several hundred dollars. I will not be returning. If you are looking to spend money on glasses that will break after a couple of years this is the perfect place for you. Overall the customer service is great when you are purchasing and nonexistent if you are making a return visit. I would probably be better off getting glasses from an online site like Warby Parker .
They made mistake when entering my appointment into their schedule - I know because I verbally confirmed “tomorrow?” before hanging up because I was surprised to get next day appointment. I received an attitude when I checked in that my appointment was for the following week. They did see me - kudos that’s what your suppose to do when your team makes a mistake. But then the doctor who was filling in for my doctor was unpleasant and standoffish. I hope for better patient care when I return for my follow up
My husband and I have been with Pearle Vision since past two years. Josh and Andre were very friendly, helpful and professional. They helped us pick frames and explained the insurance costs in detail. COVID Safety protocols are also being followed. A very pleasant experience both times from doctors and staff !!
All three girls at the front desk were very friendly and helpful in explaining a confusion I had over contact lens paperwork. My doctor was nice and Claude helped me by fixing a pair of my eyeglasses. Highly recommended!
Josh was phenomenal. We came in on Dec 5th and saw a different rep, what a disaster. Our glasses with insurance, started at $300 and ended at $800+ The rep even said, oh my colleague just said I forgot to add x, I was sitting there the entire time not one person came up to him to tell him he forgot anything. I was furious and told him I no longer wanted the glasses, he continued to give me numbers that didn’t add up. We walked out. I came back today on 12/31 figuring I needed to use my FSA money and I definitely needed glasses. Josh took awesome care of us. He didn’t lie and was truthful. We got 2 pairs of glasses and 6 months of contacts, for less than $500!!!!!!! What a difference the service was phenomenal and Josh made all the difference he is a keeper! He changed my opinion of Pearle to a positive experience and I will highly recommend.

I went into Pearle Vision Totowa looking to purchase a microfiber cleaning cloth and spray as a Christmas stocking filler. Claude just gave me both FOC and was totally charming about it. I can’t say my current opticians have even given me anything - I’ll be giving these folks my business moving fwd. Thanks Claude!

From start to finish, worst experience ever. Wait time in the office took forever, the facility didnt have the contact samples, which i understand, but then the doctor had me try on other samples that were not my perscription, and said use these today and tell me how you see i was supposed to be notified the following week when my contacts did come in, still havent heard back.Today i called at 12 when they opened. Talked to Josh about getting my meidal records released. Was put on hold for 10 min and then the call dropped. called back again, explained what happened, Josh said he would get me my records in 15-20 min. That was at 12:30. it is now 2:40 still no records, and i had to call back a third time, where they informed me i needed to pay an additional $30 or they would need to submit the request for my records through insurance.Never again. I wish my insurance had Lens Crafters...at least i know i get better service there.

Excellent! The optometrist was so incredibly helpful. My sons case was a bit more involved and Craig helped me through every step of the way and ensured I was not getting charged more than needed; he actually reviewed every charge on my bill and questioned whether those charges were necessary or not. Who does that!! Melanie also was patient and helpful. The staff here did a great job and went above and beyond in helping me to save money; they even fixed my sons broken glasses without charging me. Highly recommend!!

What a horrible place . Don’t waste your time and go somewhere else .Front desk is loaded with not a “user friendly workers” and with an attitude especially for someone doing the eye exam for the first time.They did not provided detailed explanation during the initial exam and end up having glasses exam vs contacts one.Now.. I have to pay additional copay to get contacts exam – both should be done at the same time.I wish i can give them 0 stars instead of 1

Walking into Pearle was the best experience I had. The workers from the exam team were very resourceful. From answering questions about what my insurance covers to following up how my experience was with the doctor and their screening. For the optical sales associates they also made my decision for glasses easy. They made sure I got what I wanted and what I needed for my glasses. Overall, I would recommend any family and/or friends to come here!

Omg!!! The worst customer service!! The doctors were good, but the receptionists and staff that works in the other departments need to get a clue. Every time my nephew has to get his contacts there is a issues. Im really hoping he can switch to some where else. Not good when the receptionists laughs at you and the manager condones this behavior.
I had a terrific experience from the day I bought 2 pairs of eyeglasses. I have brought these back 2 times for repairs and was charged nothing. My grandchild knocked them off my head twice. The fixed the glasses immediately and were super friendly. Excellent place to get glasses! Thank you!

Excellent experience! Dr. Nguyen is always very pleasant, caring, and thorough. The team up front greeted me right away and was extremely helpful. The hinge piece on my current glasses broke off and it was going to take 2 weeks to order, but they were able to find the part in the back and fix it immediately - what a relief! They went above and beyond. They were also very patient helping choose and price new glasses. Ive been coming to this location for many years, since back when it was twice the size (though its still bigger than most) - I Definitely Recommend it.

After providing the receptionist with my credentials, she returned them and spelled my address wrong. Since there was a very limited selection of eyeglasses, I asked the gentleman for a copy of my Rx. The gentleman said I will email the Rx in 5 minutes. A day later I return, and no one is at the office, which is open. I would definitely avoid this business!

Very helpful people. They take their time with you and answer questions. Any questions I have they take their time explaining everything to you. When I pick up my glasses they make sure they fit right and make sure my vision is what it should be.

I came in shortly before the store was going to close, to ask someone to fix my glasses. I had to be driven there because without my glasses I can see nothing. The entire staff was so pleasant and helpful, even though they probably wanted to go home. Someone named Maggea helped me and did a fantastic job of fixing them too. I will be there again in the future to buy glasses because they provided excellent customer service!

Went to Pearle Vision to get a new prescription for my glasses as well as to get fitted for contact lenses. Fallon helped me through the contact lens fitting. She was incredibly professional, kind and funny, and she patiently walked me through the process when I was struggling to get the contacts in. I am very appreciative of the time she spent helping me.
Andre and Craig were very helpful and patient with me as were the rest of the staff who helped me pick out a pair of glasses. They presented several different options to me and am very pleased with the end choice.

Saw Dr. Nguyen at Pearle Vision and she found Diabetes in my routine exam, she was so thorough. Now I have to bring my family in to get checked as well. Thank you Dr. Nguyen!
I visited Pearl Vision of Totawa N.J. On February 28, 2020 I was in trouble because the glasses I rely on to get me around had broken. I was a bit freaked out when I entered the store an was hoping I could get my problem resolved. I was greeted kindly by Craig who put me at ease as he figured out why the arm on my glasses was not staying in place. He told me with confidence that he would work hard to find the piece that was broken in the matching color. I held my breath while he went in the back to search for such a tiny piece in a very unique color. When he appeared he had worked his magic an repaired my glasses back to perfect an had followed be adjusting my glasses an giving them a good cleaning. I’m so happy I got Craig I had been there once befor for an adjustment an was not pleased at all. If your reading this call ahead an ask for Craig he knows what he is doing.
I have to say that the day-time crew at Pearle Vision was by far the most helpful group of individuals Ive met in their field thus far. Ive been trying to learn and understand how to navigate various insurances, etc. for a while now, knowing that I had to purchase new glasses, something I only had to do for the first time a few years ago, but when I was still with my parents insurance. Either way, the team over there was so professional, helpful, and explanatory (which is what I sorely needed)! Francesca was outstanding in terms of explaining what my insurance covered; she was also incredibly patient while I continued to cycle through the same three pairs of glasses for about an hour. I am definitely returning to this location during day-time hours, and recommend others looking for a positive first-time experience do the same.

Went in to get new lenses for my prescription sunglasses and was greeted with nothing but friendliness & respect by one of the workers Jynnelle who took my information down for my order. Then I met with Craig who was down right awesome and great at what he does. Craig took my sunglasses and measured everything twice to make sure I was gettin exactly what I wanted, he also resized my glasses, cleaned them and replaced my nose pieces. Well, my first time at Pearle vision in Totowa was a very quick and a painless process. The staff and the doctor on duty were very kind and really cared. They were very organized and explained all the paper work before i signed everything. I recommend everyone to try this place out, you will not be disappointed.
I bought a pair of sunglasses, and with my insurance, I still payed $350 out of pocket, which is ok, because they were a very nice pair. Immediately after putting them on, I knew something was wrong. It was too dark, and I became nauseous. I went back to the store 3 more times over the next few months, and each time a technician told me there was nothing wrong. Also, each time, the manager was never there. I finally broke down, and I went to another eye glass shop for a new pair of sunglasses. Within 2 minutes, the technician examined my $350 pair and said Pearle Vision reversed the polarization, which is not allowing enough light in. So I went back to Pearle Vision on Route 46, and explained the problem. They told me there is still nothing wrong, and there is nothing they can do for me. I called corporate, and found out they are a franchise, which means they could not help, but that they would reach out to the store owner. They said usually they will get back to you within a couple of days. Its been 2 weeks, and I have not heard from anyone else.Overall, this location lies to cover up mistakes, the management and owner do not care at all about the quality of the product or customer service, and you can not rely on the brand name, because corporate cannot help you, since they are a franchise.
Fairly priced eyeglasses, successful eye exam- I recently took my family to the Totowa Pearle Vision and was pleasantly pleased with the staff and doctor. We had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Hogan. We received fast well informed care from both the eye exam and the glasses departments. The whole family will be going back year to year from this point. They also informed me about all the back to school promotions they will be running this summer, cant wait!
Honestly worst place to get contacts. There was no communication between workers and with me, they kept lying to me to cover their mistakes, and overall it was just an unpleasant experience. It’s about to be 4 months and I still haven’t received my contacts even though I already paid for them. Just one example of how badly this place is run.

The worst experience ever, I went there 2 years but Im not coming back. The first time they loose the template for the PORSCHE frames I bought, I had to buy another pair of frames for them to complete the order. Well they did not charge me for the second pair they made for me. So I came back next year, I brought a pair of MONT BLANC now they loose the case, and the glasses were uneven in fact until this day the glass do not sit properly in the nose bridge so it makes the legs open 120 degrees. I complain about it and I was yelled by a young woman that She said she was the manager. Very very rude lady that should not be there even if she is family to the owners. She said that she will not fix or do anything about the case of the glasses, that its not there and probably I didnt leave anything. To made the final payment that she will call me if something shows up......still waiting. Never..Ever will give my money there. I should of call the insurance to make sure they do not operate with any insurance but I just let it go.

By far the worst experience ever. I went for a contact lens exam paid out of pocket because my insurance doesnt pay for contact exam yet they charged my insurance for an exam. It took them 3 months exact to order sample contact lenses and when I went to pick up they only ordered 1 eye. I called corporate to explain my situation instead of corporate handling my problem they have the stire MNG handling it and puts the costumer in a weirw situation. Very very bad experience
