I think 3 out of 5 is fair because for some reason they organize the clothing here by color, instead of by size. The fitting rooms are closed and they dont give refunds or allow exchanges. So if you get home and nothing fits youre doomed. But theres tons of stuff here. And if you have all day to rummage through the over-packed racks, you might get lucky and find something you really love, that actually fits... AND if its on clearance... MAJOR shopping accomplishment ππ₯ππ₯π
This is a great store! Gone past it for years and never went in before today. Walked right to the back to the knick knack section and past an employee putting more items away. Woman turns and greets me and THANKS ME for shopping there! I Was very surprised. That employee was flying, she was working so fast! I looked around and didnt find anything until something caught my eye on the way out. Same employee came to the register to help the cashier, she turns to the line and thanks them all and wishes Merry Christmas. If that woman is NOT the store manager you need to promote her! Store was very clean, tons of clothing all neat on racks (not pulled out clothes or hangers etc sticking up or on the floor). The knick knack were in shelves arranged and displayed in their individual themes. A+++ will go back!
Friendly and hardworking staff. Often there are not enough people sharing the workload and the staff that I interact with still are helpful and friendly, while pushing through being very busy.I have found some beautiful dresses for events here and it is almost always organized, making it easier to locate the type of clothing youβre looking for.
Alright thrift store, stuff is organized by size and color, pretty nice. Prices are reasonable with discounts on certain days. Found some nice blazers for interviews here. Pretty nice, pretty clean and the employees are okay.
Around 1PM today I went to drop of donations, several people ahead of me dropped many bags and boxes off also to the donation room. I waited for everyone to finish up, went in with first items of a rather full vehicle of donations. Frantic white woman with the split ends pushed her co-worker out of the way while yelling at me about items needing to be in bin? Before I could move items (which I happily would have done)or had a chance to think and respond it actually felt dangerous to be inside so I headed to exit small front room area. The erratic woman yelled at her co-worker to lock the door. This all happened very quickly and while I was inside. After door was locked (thankfully after I exited) and I went to my car parked directly in front of door, the blond lady opened store door and loudly asked if I had more items to donate, which I did but chose to go elsewhere for my own safety. Long haired blond lady should definitely consider exercise and drinking more water, she lacks control of her emotions and perhaps should be kept in the back of her department. Only writing this as I legit felt this woman could accidentally harm somebody while in a tizzy and I know her co-workers might fear to speak against her and be thankful a stranger is bringing it to someoneβs attention.Good vibes to the donations department and all who work with this short fused woman. Stand up for yourself, even if she is your manager or boss YOU DO NOT deserve to be treated poorly by her, and especially not touched or shoved or yelled at, the other shorter haired worker looked frightened in that moment also and did what was demanded of her while being yelled at. While I do frequently shop here and enjoy the store, this review reflects that, otherwise Itβd be a minimal star review.
Very friendly staff. The store is organized beautifully. This was the nicest Goodwill I have been to yet.
Reply to owner : Clothing $3.99 STOP LYING- PLEASEEEEEE! I had at the register 1 pair of shorts 1 pair of pants and 1 pair of jeans - all wouldβve been for my YOUTH CHILDREN TO WEAR at this VERY MOMENT it came to $14.97 ALL PURPLE TAG @ ALL @ 50% . And donβt come at me with persons with disabilities π I HAVE A WHOLE DISABILITY AND I DONT RESPECT GOODWILLS MISSION- lower your DAMN PRICES PERIOD!!!Original :The prices, OMGEE the prices are disappointing very much. Even while shopping the tag that is 50% off 3 CLOTHING items coming to $15 is horrible ethics. Goodwill needs to be ashamed. I refuse to pay I can go to Salvation Army and get a cart full of clothes for $15.00. Mean while CEO of Goodwills is a Billionaire do not spend your money here the greed is toxic.
First time in New York, drove from Saratoga springs, and it was worth the drive, very nice clothing, books .99 and movies .99., was looking for jewelry I like to collect, said you have to order online so this is the first. 8 points
Clothing and housewares organized by color. Neat and well stocked.
A well run store with gently used goods at great pricesHighly recommend it. Also, be polite to the staff.
You cant use the changing rooms. They had purple tags on sale yet they dont even use purple tags, on ANYTHING. And you cant get refunds so you cant bring the pants back if they dont fit. Im so disappointed, if I could give zero stars I would
Overpriced: t-shirts clearly marked $3.99 sell at register for $5.99.SCAM!!!
Good prices. Well organized
Good spot to donate for a great cause! They give you a receipt for items then you figure rest at end of year on tax sites. The tax sites usually help let you know what item are worth.
Great all the time got great stuff
You can find some pretty nice things occasionally but their prices can be outrageous. Ive found broken or incomplete items being sold for the price of new ones. Theres a good reason all the other Goodwills in the area have closed, their prices are actively driving potential customers away! Id recommend going to Salvation Army instead, as an avid thrifter Ive had way more luck there while spending less money.
Great selection. Always find something cool. As of 9/19/20, fitting rooms are still closed - good for safety, not for finding pants that fit.
Hereβs an idea for this Goodwill donation location: post a clear, specific, bold-faced notice that is visible as soon as a donor enters, providing directions and an acceptable way to communicate with invisible employees. There is no human assistance available. Looking for someone to ask about propping the door open while I hauled in a number of bags of clothing and household goods, I found my way into a large open space behind the front area. Initially a young woman sorting through objects in a bin ignored me; when I spoke β from across the room β her response was to tell me that I βwasnβt supposed to be there and had to leaveβ. Nonetheless, I asked my question & heard again that I had to leave. From a different part of the space, another employee came out silently with a post to hold the door. Iβm in my 8th decade of life, and have arthritis. I struggle with bags and boxes at this point. When I donated at this site last year, the staff were helpful and courteous. Todayβs experience has me thinking about going elsewhere.
Everything is pricy
I like Tuesdays, dollar day!
Usually come here to shop a lot and today I donated some boxes of vhs tapes. First time donating. I asked if politely if someone could help me with the boxes. They were several larger heavy ones. The woman simply said βwe canβt touch anythingβ so I said βokayβ and went to grab my boxes. One of them was pretty heavy and difficult to get in the bin plus I didnβt want to crush anything in there she told me everything had to go in the bin. I told her the box was heavy and I didnβt want to hurt myself. She just stood there and watched me struggle with the box and several more after to make sure it went in the bin. Idk how people have lost their humanity but it seems like this Covid stuff has become an excuse to be lazy. I have hurt my back in the past and It feels like I reactivated some lower back thing I havenβt felt in years. Never coming here or donating here again.
Goodwill... more like Good grief! The prices are outrageous! I literally found many items that were priced higher than if I was to buy them NEW! Drove across town to salvation army, saved a ton and outfitted the daughters dorm with some cool college necessities. Dont waste your time at this location. Parking is good, prices are not.
Its always very neat and easy to find good clothes.
This is a wonderful Goodwill Thrift Store! The staff are friendly and so helpful. The merchandise offered is superb! Prices are reasonable and then some, especially with the weekly discount on some items. Just check the sign as you enter the new store. I liked the size of the old store better but I am getting used to this new smaller store now. Just wish they had more space like they used to but they put so much into the area they have now. Too bad rental prices have to increase on a non-profit place! What a shame! Keep up the great work, Brunswick Goodwill! I, personally, am so glad you are here in Brunswick! Thank you!
Clean,friendly and good variety!
All I can say is wow! Your employees are VERY rude! I walked from Dollar tree to Goodwill, had my Dollar tree bag tied with the receipt in it, There are NO SIGNS posted anywhere stating bags must be left at the counter. All your extremely rude employee had to say was Im sorry bags are to be left at the counter. Her approaching me and yelling you cant have that here put it behind the counter or leave. Thats fine I left and so did my donations of merchandise and money.
Troy store has Terrible management rude and unprofessional (cashiers usually very nice tho)&Prices way too high actually outrageous!!!!Itβs donations, sell it as thrift pricesI can go to the store and buy half the stuff new for the price marked or way betterThey say if itβs a brand name the price is higher. Thatβs unacceptable. Itβs used donations wake up!!!Then They use another lame excuse that people probably resell is why they raised prices. That is none Of their business what someone does with something after they buy it is how I feel. If they do more power to them maybe they can use the $.I will never support this store again! They lost their way of their mission. Itβs very disappointing.Every time I go in this particular store I have an issueI go to have an I wind time and leave with a headacheOne of my worst wasI went in one day with a brand new outfit on my purse happens to be matching which was a coach backpack. I was stopped at the door entering and told they need to hold my bag. I look around the store and 5 other people had backpacks on and they were shopping. It was disgusting and then because I reminded her it was wrong what they were doing, the manager went around the store embarrassing everyone to bring their bags up too. No signs nothing indicating this new rule. I have shopped there regularly for years...nothing!
Lot of improvements sense they moved locations.I found a lot of name brand clothes in decent condition. And other new like condition items. The store it self was pretty clean, everything is organized. And the sales associates were all very nice and helpful :)
This place is jam-packed with great name brand finds. Definitely worth the stop.
Not a pleasant visit, manager was so rude!!! I wouldnt recommend shopping at this location.
I didnβt know what to expect when going here. My wife wanted to look for old cookware etc. And there were lots of options with used materials there. We would often find stuff in good condition as well. What impressed me more was the collection of used books. All paperbacks in 1 dollar was a great deal. And while I expected little, I managed to find tons of good books. So far, Ive bought books by Pratchett, Pahlaniuk among others from where. The collections keep changing and I made it a habit to come here for books once a month!
Its a Goodwill store - friendly staff, well lit, wide isles and well organized. A variety of second-hand clothes, nick nacks, and furniture - some good catches, some stuffy stuff, but great prices!!!! LL Bean winter coat for $20, snow pants for $12. Student discounts on Saturdays.
Great selection. Amazing staff. Definitely recommend. Also βοΈKudos to cashier I witnessed dealing with a difficult customer today.
Great place, except everything over priced for donations! 16 dollars for a wine glass???
Great location to leave your University students extra items. They have a drop off which opens early morning and is very convenient. Glad we found them and able to support theyre tradition.
Staff is friendly and the store is clean, but their prices can be ludicrous. I donated a 10 gallon fish tank that I had used to keep my baby leopard gecko in until he grew and needed a 20 gallon. The tank was very lightly used, and I had purchased it brand new from Pet Supplies Plus on Hoosick for $20 including the mesh lid. I went back to Goodwill after donating it and saw it for sale for $40. Either their employees are really bad at pricing things out, or the business is jacking prices up for profit. However, the drop off location right next door is extremely convenient and has convenient hours. Ive donated a lot to this location during spring cleaning, etc. and donation is super easy and the staff is always accommodating.
My favorite thrift shop. Usually theres only a few things in them that your grandmother didnt die in, but here it isnt the case. Brand new clothes from places like target, and I always leave with an arm full of clothes. I go here whenever I have an itch to shop. The only downside is they dont have much if you arent average size, like myself. My mother shops with me and typically she doesnt find much. Overall, I love this thrift shop!!
Excellent selection, many new or like-new items, logically grouped and well organized, easy to sort through. Definitely worth a trip before you shell out for retail prices. Especially good for students looking to furnish dorm rooms, common areas or frat/sorority houses, as well as anyone on a budget. Stop here before driving down the road to Walmart.
I too liked the old store better and also agree on the prices on some of the stuff from Target. Come on now, why the reason for the increased prices. It isnt like you have no merchandise to sell. You would get more customers and donations if you could have kept a good thing going like you use to. I realize all prices go up on most things but some of your stuff can be purchased cheaper first hand in stores like Target, Walmart and the like. Some of your shoe prices are unbelievable. Folks, go to the real store first, things are cheaper. I hate it when stores get greedy. It really takes the fun and thrill out of finding a bargain, wouldnt you say? I dont even want to donate anymore if you are going to turn around and rob the consumer.
They sell broken stuff but otherwise its not too bad
The staff was very nice. Helpful too. I usually find good deals here.
Great spot for you to pick up the odds and ends to make some fantastic diy Halloween costumes.or even some decent clothes on the cheap.
Really good deals. This kind of store is tough to rate. Lot of stuff is ransacked on a regular basis and it is tough for staff to keep up. Not sure why people always try to steal from here. Everything is cheap.
Bought something that did work. Returned with receipt. No problem.Store credit.Found more goodies.
Good selections. Great customer service.
Been going to this store for a long time. Sadly it seems like the prices are going up higher and higher for items that are donated. I dont resell, and I find myself leaving empty handed. You cant use ebay prices in your stores.
You can find some pretty good things here, however the prices are a little high. Great customer service though!
Pricing is on the high side. I was in today and saw a faux stained glass lamp priced at $149.00, it was damaged and when asked if they would discount it - the answer was no. I went on Home Depot website, and brand new faux stained glass lamps were under $150.00. Goodwill = greed, and they try to compete with retail. The thrift hunt for great deals is rare in this store. I even saw a coat priced at $50.00 while at macys they have them on clearence for $19.99. It seems the staff does not know how to price.
One of the better Goodwills Ive gone to. On my last trip I found some rare cult films on VHS and was quite pleased with myself
Has a nice variety, not just all clothes like a lot of other thrift stores.
Alot of good clothes and can find decent decor, but prices for donated things can be a bit high
You have this girl there Alyssa very nice and pleasant
Me and my wife love this store. We always find clothes or books or random things for our house.
Nice store was able to find clothes that fit me at decent prices . It was just everything else there was a little over priced
Well maintained. Good selection and turnover.
Great stuff at great prices
Cab find the perfect thing for a random occasion here!
Clean store, attentative workers. You need them to open the fitting rooms and only three articles allowed in at a time.
Wal-Mart is probably cheaper.
Love how their cloths were color coded
I wish their prices were a bit lower.
The prices are shockingly high. So high nobody will buy anything, and they are forced to throw the majority of their donations away. Greed is costing the patrons and the store a lot of money. Disgusting.
Prices are nearly as high as clothes u can buy on sale at any store. Profittering on donations is not right
Unorganized, quality has gone down sense they moved locations and price has gone up
Typical Goodwill, organized pretty decently, prices too high for used items and out of date Target items.
Decent sized goodwill thrift store
Love this place.β€β€
Good place to shop
Everyone is friendly here, its a pleasure to shop at this store!!!
More merchandise, still high priced.
Nice Housewares!
Great place
Tertific staff
Money goes to charity

I love the good prices and you find a bit of everything in very good condition.
