LOVE, LIVE, LOVE THIS Place. I went in to try and figure out an issue I had with my sink drain. And, I believe the mans name is Lloyd helped me out, tremendously. Explained things to me that I would understand. I have been going there for years and enjoy every time I go. Excellent place, with people that can and will help you. Most unprofessional and unreliable company Ive ever dealt with. Nick and Anthony were rude and disrespectful. We Had booked with them and gave a deposit over a month prior* to the event (our sons graduation party!) for tents to be set up in our backyard, Nick came out and did the measurements, (after two no shows )a few days later They backed out of our event to do a bigger one. They just care about the money not the customers.

Rented a extended hedge trimmer. The head kept vibrating out of the locked set position which made the rental a pain on the *** . Had to stop trimming to reset the head which took up a lot of stop and go time. Told rental agent but got the impression it didnt matter much.

If you are looking for lots of stuff go to a box store, if you dont value your time go to a box store. If you want knowledgable people that are helpful and efficient this is the place to go. I bought a trowel and a stihl leaf blower for the same price as a box store and still had my sanity and afternoon intact when I left the store. Cant say enough positive things about True Value

Why waste your time at Home Depot or Lowe’s when places like this exist?! It’s a phenomenal old school style (in good way) hardware store! I never made a trip for something and left empty handed or needing to go someplace else because they didn’t have the part, piece or materials to get the job done. There seems to always be a minimum of 2-3 people on staff that know exactly what they are talking about and are happy to help guide you. I’m happy to have found a place like this nearby where I know that the money that I’m spending will be kept right here in the community. This is very important these days.

Great place for Cub Cadet Mower parts! Always seem to have what you need to keep your equipment running or they order it for you. Staff is always helpful and asks if you need help finding something.

I have rented lifts on 4 occasions to trim trees around my farm. The equipment was new and in good shape. The staff has always been helpful and very respectful of my time. Country True Value on Rt. 4 in Troy and East Greenbush are both owned by the same person and both are great. I own a growing plumbing company and we often need tools that we currently dont own.We use the rental department often for quality tool rentals. The equipment is always clean and in excellent working order. They open at 7:30 am and close late in the evening which I love because I can get what in need to start the day early, work late and still return the tool all in one day. The employees in the tool rental and on the floor are very knowledgeable and ready to help. They usually greet you at the door and just about hold your hand to help you with whatever you need. I highly recommend them to homeowners and contractors alike!

Great stop for what you need

After being there for close to 15 minutes looking for a spray can of Kiltz Primer and someone to help me. I get a kid who doesnt know what Im talking about. But the older woman hes helping told me Walmart has it. Unbelievable waste of time. Looking for something you dont have, asking people who dont know what your talking about. Got better service from the older woman. Walmart. Ill keep that in mind.

I had been going there for a while... bought a small item, less than $6 that didnt work, so took it with me to return.. the girl got the manager involved and he said i could not return it because it had been used... my answer was, that is how i found out it did not work, how else would you know.... he insisted that because i had used it i could not return it.. he told me to get another one... made no sense the product did not do what it said it did,,, he finally said he would give me half my money back... which I just took to be done with them....what amazes me. for the sake of 3 bucks they were fine to drive away a regular customer...... a business that has so little customer awareness is a risky business to invest in..... thankfully there is a Home Depot right down the road, I am going to drive the extra 2 miles from now on...from my experience, they will always take something back if it does not work...

Pro: The store staff is very helpful and they know their stuff. They will be able to help you out in nearly any project. If you are a homeowner and doing house work and have questions go here and the staff will be able to help you with what you need to do and what tools am materials. Also you will fin some specialty odds and ends that the big boys wont have.Cons: The selection is more limited than the big boys and some common stock stuff they will not have. Generally minor however.

Very helpful staff. They have pretty much everything that the giant stores have, but you are in & out MUCH, MUCH quicker. They also have some more unusual items that you typically cant find at the big stores. Prices are very resonable, too.

This store is strange. Kind of like the Twilight Zone. The staff follows you around and watches your every move as soon as you come in. The rental guy in the back is angry and yells at customers. The lady making keys is never there and is always cranky. The girls at the registers are happy and very nice. The selection of tools here is subpar. Most items are not even stocked. They make most of their money on renting equipment. Most everything is way overpriced. Home Depot is down the road, go there.

Ive narrowed it down over time I both rent Whatever Whenever I can from them.and its the kind of business that goes above and beyond. They are very attentive and have great variety and selection.

I had been utilizing this company for a very long time to rent list I used to use the East Greenbush store I used the North Greenbush store one time there Lyft that I rented for a week started not working properly they said they would send somebody out they never did and by the time I brought it back to them after they never sent somebody out they charge me for all those days that it was inoperable $1,000 above what I should have paid I cant believe that they would charge me for a lift not working properly and when I went to discuss it with the management they had nothing to really say besides that this is my charges I have now gone to a different lift company skyworks in Brunswick they have better deals better customer service and work with you if their lift is not operable they will send somebody out and fix it that day so you can finish your job which I could not I had to write another lift just to finish the job on top of the extra $1,000 that they had charged me

The worst rental experience ever!..after a previous bad rental in which owner opted to refund my money rather than show me the blade to the tool worked.....several weeks later after contacting both stores for two days regarding renting a a bucket tractor...well whem i finally loacated a trailer cause they had none available...well i was then told they wont rent to me!..they had all my info for two days n waited till last possible second to refuse to rent to me...then the owner refused to talk with me to rectify this situation and then the manager NICK treated me horrible and made horrible remarks n then starred at me and made comments that completely uncalled for...hometown store turning into some store run by guys with mafiosos attitudes..horrible customer service.worst customer service ever recieved in my life...lots of other rental places. save yourself time n money and go rent somewhere else.

I would rather patron local instead of big box. That being said, i almost hate going to any truvalue! You are hounded incessantly asking if you need help the entire time. If i need help Ill ask. Also few times do they have what Im looking for...wood handled wire brush...not plastic....among other things. But the worst part is the hounding...knock it off!
