Matt and a couple of others there at the store (the shoe guy and the bag guy downstairs) went very far out of their way to help us find what we needed. Their patience and knowledge was absolutely outstanding and they taught us things we couldn’t even imagine yet proved essential when we hiked with our new equipment the next day. Matt’s recommendations of hiking locations and techniques lead to one of the most amazing hikes we’ve ever done. We will definitely be returning to this store and it’s surrounding mountain hikes. Excellent customer service and knowledgeable staff!I was looking for a pair of minimalist trail running shoes. At first I just wanted to try out the Trail Glove 5 and see how it feels but the shoe was too narrow for me. Henry(hope I got his name right) suggested me to try the Altra Superior 5 and Lone Peak 5. I was skeptical at first but after I put it on the Superior 5 felt right. I took my time to think about it and went back 2 other times. Everytime I went back, the staff answered all my questions and didnt rush me to make my decision. After like 2 hours of walking back and forth I finally got the Superior 5. Cant wait to test it out! Thanks for the help and your patience!

Expensive trash for people who say they love hiking/camping, even dress like a hiking adventure can break out at any minute, but never actually go. If youre not white as white can be and dressed the part be prepared to be harassed by employees under the guise of being helped.They mostly sell props for dating profile pictures and social media posts to very shallow people with no real personality.Just go to Big 5 and get treated like a human.

Had a great first expirence, but when I got home, prices were not accurate. I returned to the store 6 days later, one of the products was still being advertised for $20 less than I purchased it, they were not willing to honor the price they had listed. Said thanks for the heads up and asked if I would like to return it. I even bought the membership on my first visit because of their great customer service and warranties. A member even helped me pick out that item because it was on sale.

I was in REI Tucson last evening to look at a tent in the garage sale, an area in the store that they have used equipment. A very nice young man named Ian, helped me set up the tent and inspect it. He is very knowledgeable and helpful and kind. Thanks, Ian and REI. Nancy

So I happen to be a person of color who was followed around the store like a criminal. Had plans to spend some high cash here but thanks to this not so subtle shadowing by an REI employee I walked out not spending a cent. #reallyhappeningstill Come on REI its 2021

Regarding used in store Garage Sale items sold at REI.As clearly post on the items and warnings given during purchasing, REI will not accept returns on Garage Sale items.It is your responsibility to completely test the quality of any items before purchasing them. REI does NOT screen any items returned to the store before placing them on the Garage Sale rack for resale.If you are interested in used items, I would suggest you consider the REI Co-op Good & Used online store. Per the return policy they will allow 30-days to return items you are not 100% satisfied with.Good luck.

Love REI, they back pretty much everything they sell in their store, and it is a very pleasant store to shop in. Lots of awesome great for all types of hobbies and adventures, and process are topically pretty competitive! Not to mention perks that being a member get you. Been shopping REI since I was a young lad in scouts.

I have been a member for many years, its one of my most favourite places in the world. Recent years, it has become more and more conventional, though, mountaineering has become history.This location has friendly, to the point, sincere staff, Im very impressed.Always check out the clearance section, the pricing is amazing!Their restrooms are located on the second floor, you get upstairs from the staircase by the entrance, find the restrooms at 12 oclock, or say the other side of the store. Then you get down by the staircase next to the restrooms.This might be the only/few place(s) that has/have public restrooms, just feel it might be helpful to point out.

REI is great for people who love the outdoors. It is especially great for backpackers and climbers. I enjoy camping and they have a lot of products that I use. They can be a little on the higher end price wise but you get what you pay for.

Just picked up this sweet 9.8 mm, 40 meter climbing rope to use for lead climbing practice at Rocks and Ropes. Its made by Edelrid and it has a real nice feel to it. Love the color combination too!I was able to use my member dividends to help pay for my investment. Also found a new climbing top made by Prana. They say money cant buy happiness, but it can buy climbing gear and climbing gear brings me copious amounts of happiness! ☺ Check out REI for all your climbing gear needs.

Had to make the awkward member return after a sleeping bag didn’t live up to its high temp comfort rating. Staff were totally understanding, accepting, and offered great advice on a new bag that made the rest of my trip so much more comfortable. Thanks!

About 1.5 dozen bikes in their showroom. Plenty of bike accessories. Best selection of cycling shoes. Some products are reasonably priced and others are very expensive.

I’ve just had bad vibes from about half the employees here. The lack of friendliness and customer service just isnt what I’m used to. My assumption is that these are seasonal/transitional people? What a shame, I really enjoy REI. Phoenix locations are great though - no complaints there.

Everytime I come into town. I make sure I make a stop at the REI here in Tucson. They have some amazing deals sometimes and I love raiding there clearance section!

The best store of its kind, for sure. Always clean and orderly. Plenty of staff and all Ive encounter have been nice/helpful. I also believe they have done more covid-19 preparedness than many other retail stores.

Product selection is poor. Store is nice and pretty looking but they dont have much on display. I expect to see more from REI.

I love REI! This would have been a 5 star review but the girl at the door and the clerk were rude. The gentleman helping me with shoes was awesome. You took my $300.00, might be a little more courteous.

REI seems to be doing a good job providing a safe shopping environment during covid. They have a person outside to greet and provide curbside pickup. On my most recent visit we didnt shop in the store but did go in and pickup an online order. The process was smooth and quick.

Love REÍ, but this Tucson REI’s customer service is a disappointment! We are on a cross counter road trip and needed to exchange our Thule due to a lock issue which brought us to Tucson. The assistance with the Thule was fantastic, but the customer service we received at the cash register was horrible!! We were given misinformation and then treated very poorly by the manager! The staff was not very knowledgeable except for the assistance in the bike department.

I love rei! I had an issue with a recent order. I ordered pants online and picked them up but they turned out to be a black jacket. So not khaki pants that I ordered at all. Lol. I could no longer get my pants at all. It was a bummer. I needed them for my shift. I’m glad the cashier recommended I open my package before leaving. She was really nice. Also the manager said I could look around upstairs for something similar and he would give me a deal. I thought that was nice too. Unfortunately I couldn’t find anything in that color and my size but he helped me order a pair online and has them shipped to me for free and I got to run into a lovely colleague that works there. Not a bad experience at all. Everyone is always super friendly and helpful. Even when my order is wrong and I have to spend a little more I leave happy.

Bike service department did a great job with my mountain bike--tubless conversion (new wheel set), fork overhaul, and tune-up. I was especially impressed with the brakes. They were tuned perfectly, noticably better than another shop than installed the brand new hydraulic brake system just months prior. Makes me think the mechanic that touched my bike rides

Wanted to share my experience today at my local REI store.What a wonderful experience working with Craig in the bicycle department. My wife and I picked out a bicycle, Craig went over the bike in great deal making sure it was the right one for us. Then I was able to demonstrate it for myself within the store. While he was sharing more information about the Ghost model bike.. We enjoyed our experience immensely with the help of Craig. He made our time there worth enjoyable.

Ordered 2 items, showing in stock, for curbside pickup. Order confirmed 9:30 am via email.12:15 pm email order ready for pickup. Upon arrival at store (& going to email to indicate My arrival) there is a 12:40 email letting me know that 1 of 2 Items ( the most important item), was unavailable, AND had been cancelled. Back at home, went to REI website where item was still showing available & in stock. Salesperson, of course, offered little beyond that isn’t supposed to happen, and no offer to investigate or assist.

I love this specific store. Not only have I found hammocks and tents and packs, I have also found helmets and lube and friends. I was fortunate to find my dog sitter here as well. What an amazing group of humans all found under one roof.

Your store policy on which mask is acceptable and unacceptable has caused me never to want to shop at your store again. I have a hard time breathing so I have a specific mask that I need to wear in order not to not feel suffocated. Apparently it doesn’t meet your standards. I will never ever spend another dime at REI and if anybody ask I will tell them how ridiculous you are and I will make sure to tell my friends and family not to shop here.

I made an online purchase a few days before the coupon came out. When I went to the store with my receipt the manager said I needed to physically return the item and repurchase. What a waste of gas and time. Certainly not the type of accommodating, environmentally conscientious service expected at REI. Not my favorite REI.

REI was so easy to shop in. Before entering, we were told the guidelines to shop safely, so no guessing was needed. Their inventory was great & every employee was friendly & helpful. Store and sales staff were very good at helping find things & answering questions. Store was well laid out with plenty of different product lines of sportswear & outdoors recreational equipment.

We love REI but we were really disappointed with our recent visit. We ordered 2 bike racks online and decided to pick them up instead of waiting a week in a half for them to ship so we can get them in time for our trip. After driving 2 hours to pick them up they tell us they only have one because of an inventory problem. It’s just frustrating.

Have been anxiously awaiting their reopening.We were like kids in a candy store.All staff is friendly, extremely knowledgeable and always helpful

Had the BEST experience today at REI. I went in to buy a jacket with no knowledge of where to start. Jacob was so patient and really helped me narrow my options and guided me to find my perfect fit. When checking out Lauren was not only super kind but informed me about what all of what REI does for community. I am so happy I now support a company that gives back and then more. Last night I took my first class at The Tucson REI, a class on how to change a flat on a bicycle. The class went beyond changing a flat; it was a primer on bicycle maintenance and how to keep flats from happening. This class was the best $25 I have spent. Sarah, the instructor, was excellent. I was lucky; the other people enrolled in the class didn’t show, so I had one-on-one instruction on my own bicycle.

Excellent service, especially in the shoe department by Jacob. They have a guarantee that if youre hiking boots dont work after trying them out on the trail a couple times bring them back. Pretty amazing.We did the $20 Co-Op fee, good for life and pays many dividends. Nice store, nice people.

Probably the most robust outfitter in Tucson. Great gear selection and a return policy that cant be be beat by anyone. Make sure to join the co-op for those sweet dividends each year.

I’ve been going to high end bike shops all my life so I was a little nervous about going to REI for a high end bike, after working with David and the rest of the shop I couldn’t be more satisfied with the work and the help I received!!! I would definitely recommend going there for a bike!!!!

THE go-to outfitter for virtually any self-propelled outdoor adventure including hiking, backpacking, climbing, biking, kayaking and more. Premium quality equipment at very competitive prices. Super knowledgeable staff that often say, I actually own that (fill in the blank) and used it on my last backpacking... Their insight and advice is second to none. And their return policy is the stuff of legend.

Its always fun visiting REI. I can easily browse for new items to add to my wish list, and it is easy to find what I need when it is time to mark an item off of that wish list. This is pretty much the one stop for outdoors equipment. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful whenever I have any questions. It can get quite busy at times, but they are very good about keeping the line to check out moving.

Ive never been so impressed with an entire staff before. Everybody was so knowledgeable, friendly, eager, and patient. It made my time there a blast!
