Excellent collection of mesquite slabs at a reasonable price…very timely and responsive 👍🏻

The owner is tops. I had this piece of art made by Steve and John at Artistry In Design. Steves furniture skills is above and beyond, using no screws. He even delivered and put together this piece including the glass he picked up from John.I would go to no one else to have my furniture made. He will be building our music cabinet next. Has a large selection of wood. Go for it and support our local businesses.

We have used Steve on four projects now including a fireplace mantel, a large bar top, a large countertop for our kitchen island, and a top for a dining room pony wall. Steve was great to work with and came up with some great ideas. In fact, we liked his ideas so much we gave him creative license to do what he thought best for each of our projects to showcase the Mesquite. We couldnt be happier with the finished products. They look stunning! Plus, Steves prices was very reasonable, especially given the craftsmanship that goes into the finished projects. We recommended Steve to several of our neighbors who are already talking with him to create custom pieces for their homes. Terry, who makes all the templates for Steve and performs the installs, does an excellent job as well. He makes sure the finished products fit perfectly.

Not a pleasant experience. I missed the sign saying no pets and was curtly told I had to take the dog out because mesquite sawdust kills dogs, which is a lie. Then the owner said he had to stay with me and watch me, because of his insurance. Another lie. He had no trouble leaving me when other customers came in, and he never came back. They were clearly more important than me, and he went off to show them aropund his showroom and shop. After standing there for a while, while my dog baked in the car, I left. I would rather shop at a place that treated me with even minimal courtesy. Its not like mesquite is hard to come by in Arizona.

Hard to find where/how to enter show room. Displays of work are limited, but absolutely beautiful!

Steves a wealth of knowledge on all things Mesquite. He was super helpful in my first mesquite bar top project. So glad to have this option in Tucson!

Just had an exquisite contemporary mantel installed! Steve and Terry understood exactly what I wanted!

Called to see if they were open (something we have to do these days) and was told yes come down anytime we’re open. Stopped on a Friday afternoon and was greeted at the gate and asked what could he help me with. I showed him my couple of ideas/projects #1a 3-shelf unit and #2 a bench for in the bathroom, he was very helpful in picking out the best pieces of mesquite for both projects and told me they would have them done on the next Tuesday. That same Friday night he called saying that he had some extra time and completed the cuts and sanding and that I could pickup on Saturday. When I stopped on Saturday I meet the owner and found out that I had talked to his son on Friday (so nice to have owners and family members with a hands on business in these days of so much unknown times) please stop and see what they have to offer, the showroom is full of items and ideas, not to mention the years of knowledge available.

Traveled down to this place pretty disappointed. You are required to have this guy with you too look at the wood but he acts like he is doing you a favor . My answer is if your so worried we are going to steal a piece of wood put your office at the front then you can monitor everything. And put prices on the wood because we are not mind readers . $2.00 a pound, put a scale out ? Total waste of time!

I spoke with Steve about wanting 5 custom mesquite shelves made and we just had them installed yesterday. He was easy to deal with, completed the shelves in the time he said he would (very reasonable time frame) and the wood and work is absolutely beautiful. We will use this company again soon!

King Mesquite Sawmill & Lumber has changed ownership. Previous owner retired and sold the business. I assumed that the quality workmanship and service would continue to live up to the reputation I was totally wrong. Ryan R as well as Kevin Kelly reviews I totally agree

My experience exactly mirrored those of the negative reviewers here. Was VERY surprised to see such a favorable rating on here when I looked... But 2-3 minutes spent looking through the 5 star “reviews” and “their” associated user profiles, and anyone with half a brain can see they are fake and generated using false user accounts (likely by a service engaged by the business). Reading the owner responses after realizing this fact makes me cringe. Wish I’d have noticed all this before attempting to patronize the sawmill—if I had, I’d have saved myself the colossal waste of time and a pretty unpleasant experience.

I approached them to buy aesthetic mesquite door to make our entrance stunning. Their products are high quality and are available at affordable price. They were easy to contact and had plethora of options. Would be back for some more products.

Their mesquite products have quality plus they are affordable. I recently submitted a deal in furniture with them. Bought 4 chairs and 1 table. Their look is stunning and is making my drawing room beautiful. Amazing company!

I am so grateful that King Mesquite is in our community. The owner, Steve, is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and provides an expansive inventory of mesquite in many different styles, sizes, etc.

Wow! I felt intimidated by the person that came out to see me. He looked at me like he wanted to fight and stood as though he was waiting for me to attack! I believe he has all the customers he wants and doesnt need my money. Too bad he ruins what should be a wonderful experience.

Couple of issue for the poor rating. Guy who I dealt with (was sitting in the office) is a cold fish at best. For me I like to walk around and choose my lumber - this guy prohibited it. In fact he would not let me walk around nor touch the lumber. He wanted to pull it all out / down. Finally they are kinda expensive. As an alternative I would recommend the Mesquite Sawmill just south of Tubac in Tumacacori.

I love this store, they sell best quality products and work for customer satisfaction. Great guys!!

Just had a beautiful Mesquite mantel installed! Absolutely gorgeous! From the creativity of the mantel to the service and being made in a very timely manner, we made the right choice by going with King Mesquite Sawmill and Lumber!

I’ve never felt so taken advantage of in my life. Prices for lumber only air dried not kiln dried to insure that bugs inside the wood are killed allowing for unstable wood was being sold for prices that equates to about 3 times the normal going rate of equavelant wood elsewhere. Spoke with the owner in regards of his air drying vs kiln drying and he doesn’t know the facts that bugs are killed in a kiln heated to 130 degrees held at 24 hrs. With air dried lumber you can have a finished product made and then 1-6 months down the road bugs will start emerging from your piece. There are articles about this all over the internet and books. I will never waste my time using this lumber service again.

Excellent price on a set of live edge mesquite slabs. But... cold no for returns on any untouched lumber.

This guy is the rudest business owner I ever dealt with IN MY LIFE I pulled up to his gate to ask about buying some wood and he came out ALL FIRED UP AND SAID TO ME HEY WHAT DO YOU WANT DONT BE PULLING UP TO MY GATE LIKE THAT WHAT DO YOU WANT ??? i said i was interested in buying some wood from you but NEVERMIND DO YOU TALK LIKE THAT TO ALL YOURE CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT HE was walking away while I was talking BEWARE FUTURE CUSTOMERS this guy has ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES AND MAY GET VIOLENT ON YOU DNT GO THERE ALONE
