This is our choice music store on the east side of Tucson. They gave a great selection of music for all kinds of instruments. Great prices on rental instruments as well for all types of musicians. Theyre also very good about answering all your questions. Well be back!

I brought my 8 year old son to instrumental music center to pick out an instrument to start learning on. He was between 4 instruments and I know NOTHING about musical instruments myself. Shirleen ended up being the staff member that worked with us and it was honestly an experience that my son and I will never forget. First of all she has her masters in musical education from the UofA so she knew so much about all of the instruments and took the time to show my son how to do a little something on each instrument he was interested in. She would even play us a little something on every single one! She was so engaging with him and made the experience very special. After an hour and 15 minutes we narrowed it down to the violin and we couldn’t be happier!!!!Thank you shirleen!

I ordered a piano, electronic French horn mute, and gave them a French horn for service. Service price is definitely acceptable and the piano was delivered and set up for me the very next day. This is my primary music store now.

Ive been coming to IMC since 2005. Just recently, I needed my Flute repaired, which hasnt really been played on in about 10 years. River did such an AMAZING JOB!!! She worked with such fine detail with the amount of work she did ; from the Padding, cork replacement, adjustments, Cleaning. I picked up my yanagisawa 8833 alto sax after having a complete pro overhaul done by James. I cannot tell you how happy i am with the job he did. i was able to go in to a practice room and play it a bit before leaving and was thrilled with the key regulation, action up and down the horn, and easy response in the upper register... all my harmonic overtones popped out - so much easier without the leaks! i really like the feel for the horn... and it looks nice and shiny again!Needless to say I am very pleased. Went in to look at bases. Fell in love with one... kinda thinking the price was going to be too high but I was wrong. I got the base and a very nice case all for less then the price I thought the base only was going to cost. I had help from the minute I walked in, and not pushy help which was a nice change from other stores. All and all I will use this shop for all my music needs.

Great little store. Theyre only open for pick up service or walk up service. This was actually pretty cool. Tell them what youre looking for and theyll bring you everything they think will work. They also said theyll schedule a time if youre looking for a large purchase item like an instrument so you can see them in person. Dakota was very knowledgeable and very helpful.

The other day, I spent the beginning of my day at guitar center, where I wasnt helped at all. I then decided to come to this store. I was looking at their guitars for maybe 2 minutes when someone came over and began asking me all these simple questions that made it really easy to help find the guitar that was perfect for me. He even had the guitar guy, shout out to Wally, come over and help me out as well. We talked about my budget, and instead of trying to up-sell me, he even steered me towards things that were cheaper than what I was looking for and put my entire purchase within my budget. This place is super honest, super helpful, and awesome. I will definitely be coming back here more often!I went in wanting a guitar to get started learning on, and I left with a guitar that actually suited me as well as a few accessories for it too. Love this place.

This bad review concerns Maria Ferraz, piano teacher. Our initial meeting seemed positive and I felt comfortable with her with my three year old son. To make sure he was ready to be taught piano, according to her, we set another appointment the following Saturday. This time she wasn’t as nice and patient. I was outside the room while she stayed in the room with my son. To begin, my son is three. He is a very curious boy. This particular day he wasn’t wanting to sit and learn. As I peeled through the window, I saw Maria force his little hand to play the piano. My son resisted and just sat there staring up. She then yells at him, “What are you looking at? What are you looking at?” She turned to see if I was standing there and she just nodded her head. I opened the door and grabbed my son.I also want to point out that she has a lot of pictures, posters, just stuff in her tiny room enough to distract anyone much more a three year old. Also, if she doesn’t have the patience it takes to teach a three year old, then you shouldn’t advertise that you do. And lastly, you have no right to yell at my son or any child who doesn’t have the ability to fully comprehend what is happening, what you are asking, or able to express his emotions with proper vocabulary to answer your ridiculous questions!Beware of this woman and always keep an eye on your child when you are not in the room.

I had a very positive experience at Instrumental Music. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Especially their instrument tech/luthier Cody, who helped to answer several questions I had about what paint/finishing products he would recommend on a DIY guitar build I am working on. (They didnt carry any. Otherwise I would have made a purchase.)My overall impression of the store is that it is geared towards the beginner/novice musician in that they had a wide variety of instruments in price ranges that were more towards the mid - lower end. And yet were still very good quality products from reputable manufacturers. And they offered lessons in store as well. The only small knock on the store I had would be the limited selection of manufacturers to choose from.I would definitely recommend visiting their store though, whether youre a beginner or pro. This was my first experience in their store and I will be back!

Everyone was very nice and I enjoyed my shopping experience very much! My husband and I have purchased several instruments from them. We also both took lessons from Logan and LOVE his teaching style. This is an AWESOME location and I highly recommend them to everyone!

My 8-year old son is taking piano lessons at IM, and absolutely loves it. They have some great teachers to choose from. From a store perspective, you can expect stellar customer support from the moment you walk in. They go out of their way to assist you with your musical needs, and will order anything that they don’t have in stock. It’s so refreshing to be in a store that doesn’t have a corporate feel....they love music, and they love supporting our future musicians.

The level of service here is amazing! They sat with my 7 year old son for 30 minutes while he tried a cello for the first time. They also let me demo a saxophone in a small studio. I will go here before Guitar Center from now on.

I would go to IMC over Guitar Center any day!!! Best selection of sheet music in town, good deals on small gear. Theyre the only place in town that carries my favorite guitar picks.

They had no problem with letting her take her time and make sure the instrument was the one she wanted...not the one they thought she needed. Such an amazing experience! I would recommend them to anyone. ..and i will.

I came here a couple months ago to pick up some drum heads and things for my kit and was greeted and helped by the most enthusiastic crew ever. Like, EVERYONE who worked there seemed to have a super positive attitude. It was something else! It was a good enough experience for me that when I need more drum gear Ill make a special trip from Bisbee just to go there.

Dr. Ferraz is exceptional as a piano teacher, as well as Logan Greene and Michael Santander.All of the IMC staff at both locations are fantastic people and always willing to help their customers. It is a wonderful place to visit while trying out various instruments of interest.
