Great products, great customer service and friendly sales experts. Recently experienced an issue with an online order so I went to a retail store and had my issue resolved in minutes. Best customer service of any retail store and their customer satisfaction policy is unmatched. For this, Im happy to be a frequent customer.
I stopped here right before closing tonight with a flat bike tire. The team in the bike dept were quick to agree to get my tires patched and get me on my way. Everyone was super courteous and friendly. Great service all around. Thanks REI!
Great customer service. The membership costs $20 but you do get your money back plus more the more you shop there, plus no hassle returns. Its a great place to shop for all your adventure and outdoor needs. Great selection and plenty of sizes.
Recreational equipment for backpacking and even car camping or the average first time camper. Great staff, knowledgeable services on packing and equipment and bike sales. Place is my favorite I really enjoy the membership perks.
Bought a Garmin Fenix 6x Sapphire Multisport GPS Watch ... The Best Customer Service Around .... Thank You Matt ....
Great people that work there. Very knowledgeable. This is my adventure go to place.. lots of selection
Their costumer service is great. They have a great selection of everything any one would ever need for a camping/hiking trip. Prices are expensive but the quality in gear is exceptional so you get what you pay for also members get credit on a percentage of what they spend on future purchases.
Really great selection of a wide variety of active and casual wear. The staff are friendly and helpful!
REIs customer service excellent. I bought a road bike amongst other items during the pandemic. Their customer service is consistent every time I buy or bring in my bike for service. Their service model is what all companies should model their service after. Thank you REI!
Worst customer service experience I have ever had.Went-in to get two new Birkenstocks, one for me and one for my friend. We had to wait for a long time because the person working at the shoe section refused to even acknowledge us! After a while, she came and pointed to the display items and said “that’s all we have,” as in a huge REI store would only carry 4 single shoes scattered at the display! So we had to take charge, ignore the signs, and sit on a bench trying on different shoes off of display to figure out our size and fit. When we asked to try on a shoe in a different size, she gestured from the back that they don’t have that size at all. Afterward, she continued to ignore us but helped all other customers who were just chatting with each other and did not call on her. We had to continuously wave and stare at her to come to us. Then we realized that she didn’t even check the women’s section for the size we were looking for and had to go back.All-in-all, it seemed like she did not want us to be there AT ALL and she tried her very hardest to brush us off. We thankfully were able to find the styles and the sizes we wanted online and will be buying both sandals online. Today’s experience scarred me enough to not want to set foot in this store at all. Would rather shop online or drive all the way to Huntington Beach, just to avoid this particular store.
I trust REI. I can always find great items. I love their shoes especially the HOKAs
My wife and I have always gone to this REI and love it. We got our bikes here, and everytime weve come in to the bike shop, the staff is always super friendly and helpful. For example, on our recent visit, Jordan was awesome in helping us get the parts we needed and giving us pointers. Employees like Jordan make me look forward to visiting the store in the future.
Went in to pick up my wifes new mtn bike. It was finally ready after being misplaced somehow. Otherwise they would get 5 stars. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They seem to love where they work and also have a love for travel ad adventure. The store is clean and organized. They have a great selection of gear for every sport or outdoor activity.
What can you say about REI? All positive. Great branding, extensive selection of outdoor active gear, and great customer service. The long line up at the checkout counter is proof of this excellent brand.
Bill in the shoe dept was SO knowledgeable while helping me pick out some new hiking boots! He knew which ones were better for narrow feet, made sizing suggestions, AND made sure I knew that if they didnt work out for me after I wore them hiking I could bring them back and get different ones. You can also join the membership program for $20, and get $20 off your $50 purchase (so the lifetime membership of 10% off is basically free.
Bill is the man, he helped me find first time hiking boots and gave my boyfriend a bunch of great advice for his upcoming backpack. Go here!
Pretty standard REI, meaning it’s huge, well stocked with friendly staff.
Excellent customer service. Their employees consistently display a much-appreciated amount of knowledge about their products.
Best place for highest quality outdoor products. The best customer service you will find anywhere, hands down.🌲💯🏞💯🌲
Have come to this store for 10+ years and the selection and service has always been great!
High prices and seems to have less in stock than they should. But generally has what I need, and high quality products
Good selection and helpful staff. Busy but efficient. Very pleasant shopping experience.
Employees very attentive. Great experience.
Awesome Store. Best place for Bike Servicing and Repairs. Worth checking out their free lifetime membership benefits.
I lost my key to my Thule box, went to Tustin location and asked for help. The 1st gentleman didn’t seem to care to help, he asked if i have time bc it will take a long time to try out ALL the keys, his body language, tone of voice straight up told me he was unwilling to help! Very disappointed! Then he passed the ball to a younger gentleman- CAM, Cam grabbed the key box and helped me through the entire process, BTW, the 5 star experience is for Cam, not the older gentleman who wears white n red adidas tennis shoes. Thanks Cam for finding my key for my Thule box, he was polite, friendly and patient. *Wonder if the 1st sales rep would act the same of I was there to buy a new cargo box??
Love this place. Just looking for some deals
The staff at REI are friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely patient.
Impressive store for all your outdoor needs including micromobility, camping, clothing, climbing, and other areas that fit that market.
My son loves his new hiking shoes.
REI is the Walmart of the outdoor world. They now stock their selves with inferior products at an extreme mark up.I used to feel safe knowing I bought an REI backed product; no so more anymore.Be careful of the brands they offer. Also realize, their return policy has changed and is quite horrific these days.
Waited a long time to get the drt 1.1 mountain bike. Worth. The. Wait. So happy with it! Looks so much cooler than online. Cant wait to put it through the test of time. The ride home with it was damn smooth!
My first time trying to shop at REI today and it was pretty frustrating. I bought a used bike and decided to go to the REI Tustin store to see if they could fit it for me. When I stopped by the first time I explained to the sales guy that the bike was too long and I had to get the handlebar stem shortened so I wanted to make sure they could do that before I carried the bike to the store; of course he told me to come back with the bike so they could assess what to do and sold me on the membership. I bought the membership, went back home, loaded my bike in the car, drove back to REI and then waited a while before I was helped because it was busy, which is to be expected on a Sunday afternoon. Two people did my work order, they recommend I got a tune up which I was fine with, meanwhile I kept asking about shortening the handlebar and getting fitted on the bike which is what I asked for in the first place. One of the guys checked the bike and showed me how to change gears, then called another sales associate and asked her if they could order the part that I needed to shorter the handlebar. I asked again to be fitted on the bike but neither of the two bike techs were at the shop - one seemed to be on lunch break, the other one I have no idea where he was. At this point I had an open work order for a $90 tune up and I had been standing by the counter for over an hour and spoke to three people. Then the woman finally came back and said that they wouldn’t able to order the part for the handlebar and that I would be better off going to a specialized bike store. There went my afternoon: 3 hours and two trips to REI with nothing accomplished because they gave me the wrong info in the first place. While everyone was pretty nice and accommodating, they weren’t unfortunately very knowledgeable. Also if the sales people addressed what I asked for the first time I walked into the store, I wouldn’t have wasted all this time and trips dragging my bike back and forth to REI. I really wanted to love this store but this experience doesn’t really make me want to shop there in the future.
Sam is crushing it in the shoe section, he gave some of the best customer service Ive ever seen. Friendly, helpful, on point when it was very crowded
Big Agnes Shield 3 (3) person.Single wall mountaineering/alpine tent.Mt Whitney, Muir, Mt Russell, Mt Rainer, Mt Hood, Shasta DENALI… This tent rocks @ high elevation mountaineering & alpine scrambles. Great for people over 6” with 90” inches floor length & 66” inches wide @ head & 60” inches @ foot. People/experts are always bashing single wall tents due to condensation “blah blah blah”. I call BS! a high quality single wall tent has very little to NO condensation “venting” and are 99.9% Water proof along with the ability to withstand Everest storm conditions. Single wall tents are much lighter to pack in & much faster to set up vs double wall. I use my big agnes in the winter from 3000 ft elevation to over 14,000 + ft during rain/wind/snow storms and she “ROCKS” no leakes, condensation problems nada!… look up the big agnes shield specs this is a stealth bomber shelter. Weather you own other tents, 3/4 season or looking to add/replace or are looking to have just one high quality shelter that does it all this is the one!. Only downfall I can think of is the vestibule must be purchased separately @ $199.00 “LAME”!!! So as of this date your looking @ 1K for tent/vestibule but trust me you get what you pay for and with this shelter you’ll be on the bump with a Himalayan mountain range quality shelter…Pics forthcoming…
David Patterson and Bruce were 10/10, thanks David for the extra effort, helped me out w my car and bike essentials I am a noob and they were awesome especially David 10/10!!
Nice environment. First time in I was very impressed. I was helped by Tyrel and we were checked out by Alicia. They were great! Definitely recommend this place as a first stop to anyone looking to get outdoors
This rei store is always well stocked, right now they offer curbside pickup, they have plenty of parking and everyone who works there knows what theyre talking about. I came in to get fitted for an overnight pack. I had originally come in with the idea of purchasing a certain one that I had seen, however after discussing it with the guy who works in fitting he suggested a completely different one, and Im so glad he did. The fit was perfect and it had everything I needed.
Always a pleasant experience here. This location is small enough and yet not so tiny that you can never find anything.Helpful staff all over.Totally my store of choice.
Ordered a bike online and had to wait an hour in-store for them to figure out what was wrong in their system with the order. I called in advance more than once to make sure the bike was ready, and no one seemed to notice there were issues on their end. A couple of hours after finally picking up the bike, I get the email that my order is ready for pickup. This was an entire week after it had been delivered to the store, mind you. If it hadn’t been for a kid’s bike, I’d rather have gone to my local bike shop.
Always friendly and helpful employees. This is the biggest REI in the Southern California area. Outdoors persons heaven!
Everyone knows all your questions will be answered and everyone is sweet :) they also have everything you’ll need for most outdoor activities
Wow! Thank you! Sam (shoe department) was an absolute rock star. He took amazing care of us- even though it was busy and we had a lot of questions. I learned a bunch from him, and to be honest, he made me a loyal REI customer due to the level of care he gave us. Thank you!!
Always loved this place and been a member for over 60 years. How times have changed in equipment and food!!
Went to get snow gear rentals. Was a very pleasant experience. Employee showed us how to use the gear and their optimum settings and benefits. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Also explained in detail the pricing, options for damage waiver and available tiers in rental gears. Didnt try to push the most expensive option, rather suggested something that best suits our use.Equipments and gears were being wiped down immediately by employees maintaining COVID-19 protocols.
Theyre always so helpful. I go in there to purchase for my sons outdoor activities as a scout and they always take the time to teach us about the products and how to use it correctly every time.
REI is always spot in with great customer service
Great store. High end gear at good prices. Staff are very helpful. Store manager runs a great shop here.
Great place for everything outdoor
Very kind crews... they know what they are selling.
Friendly employees, inventory a bit low, but to be expected. Shoe area was also strange do to Covid guidelines Im sure. Were no in Kansas anymore and I dont think we will ever get back. REI is a customer friendly place as always...How hard is it to be nice to their customers. They do it right. Didnt buy anything, but thats okay.
Packed store, but employees were wearing mask and people seemed to be following socially distanced guidelines. Have good stock of most items
Thank you to Tanner at the Tustin REIHe was was very patient and helped me find comfortable ski boots.I am looking forward to using them next week😀
Love this place, bought a new bike and they set it up for me. Great job, great price!
The best, as usual.
Its a great customer service experience I love shopping
Great store with everything youll ever need. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are not always the cheapest but their sales are awesome. Wait for the sales and this is the place to go.
If you have any questions on shoes talk to Joseph!!! My husband and I were so appreciative for all the information that Joseph gave us while we were shopping for Hoka shoes. Excellent service!
They do a good job as all REI do.
My all time favorite REI store, super nice staff, and the store is always tidy. Are are great with reminding people to be safe about COVID in the store .
Over priced. Shop somewhere else
Worst sales team I have ever worked with. Every associate (that I spoke with) was deliberately and unconventionally rude.
Good products and helpful staff.
A regular store for sport/outdoor shopping. Personnel is very friendly and welcoming. Ive taken one star off for rather useless bicycle consultation Ive received. When asked about difference between two bike models and which one would better suite my needs (explained in details) - the answer was the more expensive one is a bit better, without any reasonings. On the other hand - curbside pick-up was a positive experience. No contact, safe distances maintained. For smaller purchases they even put it in your cars trunk. Larger purchases like bikes - you are left alone with it.Summary - would recommend, but seek advice elsewhere before doing the purchase in the store.
Was busy 20% discount across the board. Got me a tire pump hand hand sanitizer sanitizer. Great place to visit
Has an amazing selection of camping and bike gear. Very open store with very helpful staff.
Nothing but exceptional. Nice helpful people, good gear, and they dont sell anything that isnt the best of quality. Every item on sale will be worth every penny.
Great location and. friendly service.
Surprised theres a store that has helpful polite people and none of the staff rude, very great experience, bought some altra trail runners here. check it out, its fun store for hikers, campers, runners, outdoors...
Help is there but not overbearing.
Do not order from REI during COVID. They make you pay for shipping if you want to return something. I understand not accepting in store returns. Dont make your customers pay for shipping to return something. REI has lost my business for good!
One stop shop for anything and everything outdoors. Picked up a pair of trail running shoes after my Merrells hit 1k miles. Great selection of shoes and knowledge staff makes REI great.
Extremely helpful staff. Very good selection of products.
Great inventory of outdoor activity gear.
They have really good deals and they have built-in bug repellant on select pants.
I was trying to find a sun hat at this REI store. Unfortunately, the two hats I liked both were dirty and were the only ones on the shelf. I asked an employee I like these 2 hats but they are both dirty, can you.. I meant to say check if you have more in the back. This rude employee said We dont offer discount. I said, I am not asking for discount, I just want to see if you have clean ones. He continued, I dont want people try on. They get them dirty. They should buy it if they get it dirty. I said, How do you know if they fit if you dont try. Fortunately, there is another young and helpful employee helped me later. Too bad, this older grump man will offend more customers.
REI is a great place to go for most all outdoor adventure activities. Skiing or boarding, hiking, cycling mountain or road, backpacking, climbing and repelling, camping, kayaking, fitness geez and so much more. If youre an outdoor enthusiast and havent been to REI you need to give the place a try to get geared up to hit the great outdoors. So get off your electronics and go get ya some of that beauty called nature.
While they werent all that knowledgeable, several associates offered assistance without being pushy, which I really appreciated
The customer service at this location is amazing. Ive been to 3 different REI stores in a matter of 2 weeks searching for gear to begin backpacking and nothing compares to the attention and helpfulness I received at this store. I wish I had gotten their names to thank them more but a gentleman in the shoe department and a woman in sleeping bags and packs, you guys were GREAT. I appreciate your time, help, and knowledge during my first visit to this store. I will definitely be back again.
Great 👍place to shop
If you need camping, hiking, biking, climbing, kayaking or other outdoor gear you cant go wrong with REI. You wont find a lot of cheap crap here, only a selection of high quality gear. They have good prices on what they carry though. I have bought a ton of gear at REI in my life and have always been happy with it. I still use a lot of the backpacking equipment I bought decades ago.I was even more impressed than usual with my most recent shopping experience though. I was going on a camping trip with friends and we found out we were going to have one more person and another giant tent in our car 3 days before the trip. We have a CRV and there was no way we were going to fit all of our stuff and 4 people in the car. I had been looking at roof racks and pods for a trip coming up in July, but this definitely accelerated my timeline. I went into REI on a Monday night after work and when I walked in I told them I was looking for a roof rack and pod and needed it by Thursday morning. The guy who helped me was great, he quickly priced out both a Thule and Yakima rack and helped me figure out which pods would fit on my car without having to take the antenna off. I needed the rack to get the pod home, and didnt want to worry about something missing or not fitting, so they put everything on hold and my wife came in on Wednesday to have them install everything at the store. They were super nice about the whole thing and showed her how everything worked and got everything adjusted perfectly. So not only were they super helpful and nice, but they saved our camping trip.
Quick and easy. In and out
I just ordered four bikes from another sports store. The overall experience was so bad that I then switched to rei. The phone got picked up right away every time I called even with minor questions . The staff Amy Tyler Aga were all very helpful in addressing my issue. Don’t know about coop brand of bikes but I switched to canondales and coops just to be serviced from this store.
The customer service is amazing here. I needed shoes for hiking. I was looking at 20 different brands. Lexxe, and Kat with their extensive knowledge of shoes. Helped me find the right foot wear. They gave information I was not aware of, and some very good hiking tips. I recommend checking this place out for any outdoor activities you will be doing. Staff is very friendly and helpful. 🙏🏽👏🏽
Great customer service, and best selection of outdoor sporting goods.
This store is wonderful. You can find anything you need for camping, biking, hiking and other outdoor activities. It’s little bit pricey but the products are high quality. Totally worth it.
Most excellent
Really the only major outdoor spots place besides Bass pro which is far away. The best selection of everything you need to be outdoors. Prices are decent and if you want it cheaper get the REI brand which is just as good if not better. Friendly people, great services.they even teach classes and take vacations where they show you around. Recommend becoming a member its only 20$ for life and you get tons of advantages.
Went to this REI for a heat molding of my snowboard boot liner and did not know that they would need the boots also. Joe was there and pulled the same boots I had out and used them to help me heat mold. Guy was great, multi tasking and helping out multiple customers all while keeping me entertained. Gave me a great deal and made me want to write this review. 5/5 Would recommend. Joe is awesome.
I came in looking for hiking shoes/boots. I had done a little bit of research but still needed a lot of guidance. They really know their stuff! I was helped by James who was very knowledgeable and was able to find me the perfect boot. Very pleased with the service and huge selection.
Friendly staff, and free machine wax for skis (with membership).
Good help and good boots for my wife. Got Oboz.
