This coffee shop is great. There is plenty ofspace to visit with friends. They offer a Coffee City medium roast Ethiopian variety coffee. They also have several sandwiches available ata very reasonable rate. Another plus is that theyhave hundreds of board games. I rate local coffee shops and my experiences in Tyler TX.This is a great place. Stay tuned for more coffee shop ratings. I visit shops daily.
It was a nice coffee stop after a few hours on the road. Not a large menu, but everything was nice and fresh. The woman serving us was also very friendly, and the general atmosphere with the whole wall of board games was really fun- just wish we had the time to play!
Amazing food, and Im a picky eater! Loved it! Clean, very nice environment! Will definitely be returning!
Our family had a great time at Boards and Bites tonight. The proprietors are very personable and make you feel at home. The food is really good. They make a great salsa from scratch and have nice hearty sandwiches. They serve a really mean hot cocoa, too!The game selection is outstanding. They really keep the environment clean, too. I highly recommend you try them out.
Love patronizing this locally owned place. The food is SO good, probably the best sandwiches in Tyler. Awesome place to bring the kiddos.
Best coffee in town! The atmosphere here is so fun and comfortable, too. And the game selection is AMAZING! So happy to have an awesome local hangout with big city hours 🙂
Awesome food & coffee AND lots of options for people who dont do bread. ;-)
Love going here with friends to play D&D on Thursday nights in their private room to date night with my boyfriend to play games!!
Great food and a great place to meet up with people and play games! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable - this is one of the first places my fiancee and I went on a date and it was a great time!
Wonderful location with delicious (and affordable!) Cafe drinks. For 5 bucks a person you get to select as many boardgames as youd like, had a great time myself!
My husband and I have been camping and before we head back to Houston one of the things I wanted to do in Tyler was stop in at a coffee shop. Im a coffee shop lover and as one I can say this is one to visit. It instantly gave me a cozy, comfortable, vibe the moment I stepped in and that didnt change. Genuinely nice people greeted and spoke with us. The seating is comfortable, the drinks and cheesecake my husband and I got were tasty, the wifi works great, and if you feel up to gaming you can do that too. Plus theres a fairly large selection of food to choose from.
Awesome little cafe with lots of tasty food options and caffeinated beverages to choose from. Their drip and cappuccinos are pretty legit, and the staff were all super nice and helpful. Their board game selection is massive, with games for anyone and any sized group. Theres also some back rooms for when you play Monopoly with loud and excitable people, and tables made of heavy wood so that they dont get flipped over oh, so thats pretty awesome
Great place to hang with friends and decent selection of board games.
We really enjoyed it. We were a little surprised that playing a game costs $5 per person. I suppose not everyone who comes will play games, but we thought since thats the whole business concept, it would be built into the price of food. Other than the surprise $10 fee for myself and my husband to play, everything was awesome!! Would go again!
Great coffee, tea and sandwiches. Tons of games and tables.
Great place to spend an easy morning. Coffee and tea to wake you up, a huge selection of board games to keep you occupied, wifi to keep you connected. Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. My new favorite hang out. Casual and intimate, would be a great place for a first date.
Good food. Friendly staff. Theyre still requiring masks though.
The Spearmint tea was delicious and Skylar offered great service.
Service is always nice, tables are kept clean and they have a good selection of games! Whats not to love.
Fun atmosphere and good food!
Enjoyed the game selection and cafe offerings.Espresso drinks were very well made. Sandwiches were hot and tasted fresh. Games were not very organized on the shelf but did have a nice sticker reference coding that allowed those unfamiliar with the games understand what type of game they would be getting themselves into. Staff was nice. I believe the owner was there while we were and he was helpful and seemed passionate about his business.
This is my favorite place in Tyler. Great drinks and great food, but the best part is the amazing friendly staff. They always take time to recommend menu items, teach you new games, or just chat. Really wonderful and diverse game selection that is well organized, and they do lots of fun events and contests designed to introduce you to new games and new people. Cant recommend it highly enough.
Starting with boards: HUGE selection of games of all kinds and likes. Its basically how much time do you have to play. Theres also a room that can be reserved.Bites: part of the group had sandwiches and they looked good. I tried the cheesecake and it was tasty.
Enjoy the food, coffee and most importantly a quiet place to study
Awesome concept here pay five dollars to play boardgames which is from when you pay till closing, great drinks and delicious sandwiches. They also serve gluten free and vegetarian options as well as great salsa and hummus. Sometimes Ill go there just to pick up lunch its so good. Thursday evening is open game night where you get a discount for being open to having new people join your game. They also have a room for group activities.
This place is awesome. Food is great but a little expensive for portions. So many games its ridiculous! Come here asap and bring a group. So much fun!
Friendly service and good smoothies. A place for playing board and card games. We were there for internet usage. Good internet speed
Great place to hang out for a group. Matt and Jennifer took great care of us! We were able to reserve the group rooms and have a great afternoon as part of a college student retreat.
This place is amazing! A fun spot to come hang out with friends, enjoy coffee and various drinks. They also offer small appetizers, if you get hungry. There is a small fee to play the board games but they have a very large variety of games and have most of the game categorized from quick games, 2 player games, games for kids and many more. I highly recommend to come on a weekday or early weekend as Fridays and Saturdays nights tend to be more packed.
Great place, great staff, great food, huge selection of games.Great cafe, even if you dont want to play games.
Great place to go with one other friend or the whole gang! Very reasonably priced for the amount of enjoyment I get out of this place. And the food is pretty tasty wish they had more deserts though, but that’s just because I am a faddy.
Really cool place! Food is excellent!
This is an amazing place to go to when you are hungry or just wanting to have a good time. I came here with two friends and it was a highly enjoyable experience! There is a wide selection of both board games and card games, a variety of tasty treats, and several rooms where you can go to enjoy your time in privacy. You dont have to be engaging or listening to strangers if you do not want to, and can just hangout with those who you came with.I would highly recommend Boards and Bites Cafe!
It was just me and my girlfriend there for three hours and we found plenty of 2 player games to entertain us. The place was fairly busy right up to close with groups of all sizes enjoying some games. The food was quite delicious and my staff experience had zero complaints. Definitely a hot spot for Tyler!
This place is fantastic. Im in town for a few days and my daughter and I stopped in last night for some coffee and played three games. The staff were all very welcoming. Told us if we needed any game recommendations or rules explanations to let them know. We played 2 games we already knew pretty well. My daughter then picked out a game that I had never played and a staff member came over and gave us a super quick breakdown of how to play. We liked it so much that we went back tonight and will probably be back the next few nights as well! Highly recommend for an affordable way to spend a few quality hours.
I looooooove the hot cocoa here. I would die for it.
This place deserves so so so much. Its amazingly good. The cold brew tastes SO SO GOOD.
Our Women of Grace group met there for a wonderful lunch and were NOT disappointed! Delicious gourmet sandwiches, yummy veggies and the best hummus Ive had in a long time! Several of us stayed and played games and had a blast! They have a really great selection of games to choose from.
The sandwiches are aammmaaaaazzzzing. Theyre the best place to get them in Tyler hands down. The staff is super friendly and they have a wide game selection.
Good coffee, great sandwiches, fantastic employees. Great for a few friends to hang out, study, or have a party. The board game selection is amazing.
Coffee, pierogi and board games!
Theres no other place like this Cafe in the area! They have a wonderful selection of your favorite board games and some fun ones that you would never pick up at the store on your own. Their coffee is lovingly made and delicious, and they offer a wide selection of sandwiches and an expanding selection of pastries and soups! Its a great place to hang out, if you dont want to play their games they have plenty of room for studying or bringing your own games to play!
Good food and service.
Staff was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. Game choices are wide and fun. Food was 10/10 although not a lot of gluten free options.
Had a birthday party here and the kids loved it. Teens and adults were in our group but really a good option all ages. Large variety of games to choose from. We stayed 4 hours but needed longer. Food was good and staff was excellent. Will return!
Went with some coworkers and had an amazing time. The workers were really nice helped us get some tables together and picked helped us pick out a game. For 5 dollars a person with unlimited games to play its definitely a fun time for a group. Also Id recommend you call ahead and reserve a room they have in the back if its a large group.
Excellent experience! A wide variety of games and food to choose from, ample space to play. Pleasant staff and clean restrooms.
Excellent place to hang out and play games. The staff is awesome. The owner has taught me new games and stayed after close to accommodate some extended play times. An all around wonderful place. 10/10 would recommend.
Great family place to hang out and play games and eat.
People were super nice and funny! I had fun with my friends here and you get a discount if its a big group. Pretty good deal and hot drinks
Great games and amazing staff!! The food is delicious too!! Super recommend some pierogi for a god sharing food, and then a toasted marshmallow hot chocolate for dessert((:
Nice place. My family likes going to try out new games that we dont have. They do trivia nights that are fun too.
My friends and I love this place! We try to come here once a month to play games and enjoy the great food
Great environment. Great for friends and family and work events. Excellent selection of games and game categories.
Good coffee, have plenty of board games, and has plenty of space to do work. Good overall place for getting together for coffee, food, games, and doing work.
So much fun! Girlfriends got together to drink yummy tea lattes and play board games for hours! Laughing, hollering and laughing some more! Great time, great atmosphere!
I have special dietary needs and they worked wonderfully with me!! The food and service was superb!! The company was great. I will definitely be back!!
Best Coldbrew around great food and an incredibly friendly staff. They are very knowledgeable and willing to teach the games in their extensive library. This unique and incredible place is one of the real jewels of Tyler.
I was blown away by the number and selection of different board games they had. The food was really good, but wow, the games. The staff was super friendly and interacted with our kids as well. They have games anywhere from Hungry Hungry Hippos and Shoots and Ladders, to gateway games like Catan and Dominion, to games most people have never heard of that are so much fun. For $5 you can play all day. Highly recommended!
AMAZING PLACE!! So fun I would highly recommend going here! So many games, wonderful and helpful staff, and delicious food!
The sandwiches and coffee were excellent, and my husband and I enjoyed playing games with our 4 year old. Definitely recommend the Cuban and Southwestern, also the game Outfoxed for the little (board)gamers in you family.
Fun family atmosphere. Had a great time even though my daughter creamed me in all the games. Second time was just as fun as the first.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The southwestern sandwhich was so delicious. There is a salsa that comes with it as well and it so good.
This place is Amazing! The sandwiches are always fantastic and the service is great 😊.Super selection of games to play!Delicious Coffees and Teas .
Fun, great environment and super nice staff
Super cute coffee shop! Friendly customer service, delicious food and iced coffee!
Food was delicious. Sandwiches were incredible and salsa was fresh. Hummus as well. Lots of games, great sized tables, and good location.
I always order Boards and Bites at work. I get gluten free bread and they dont charge extra like most places! 10/10 would recommend!
Very fun place, great food, and they have a wide selection of drinks, including hot tea!!
Great food, friendly environment, and most important of all, an ENORMOUS selection of board games ranging from casual family games to hours long strategic endeavors. One of my favorite places in town!
Very disappointed. We were excited to give it a try. Walked into an empty place with zero ambient noise and felt like we had to whisper because it was SO quiet. The frappe tasted like it was made with mix from the gas station instead of real coffee. $5 per person to play games is fine for one person but that gets expensive with a whole family. While we were there the person working asked the people at the counter if they were ready or if she could clean....very unprofessional.
Awesome atmosphere, great space and tasty sammichs. Only sadness is Im only visiting from Ft. Worth and theres not one of these at home.
This place its so cool to have a great time with good friends
I love Boards and Bites! My husband and I are board game fanatics, and are always wanting to try new games, but dont want to break the bank to do it. Boards and Bites is our answer! Its clean and friendly, and the board game selection is enormous. We once spent 7 hours there just playing games. Theres never a dull moment, and the staff are always on hand to answer questions or recommend games to you. Five stars.
Great experience. We played cranium. Good food. Lots of games.
Low key place to chill, do your homework. Get some coffee or a bite to eat. They have board games here you can play and Wi-Fi. I will come back when Im in the area.
Great for friends ie groups getting together to play games. Many games, good snacks and beverages. Clean and great friendly employees.
Casual, pleasant atmosphere. Great place for visiting.
Great place for games and drinks with friends food needs some work.
The people are nice, the games are plentiful, and the food/coffee is pretty darn good too.
Love this place lots of boardgames and fun for families and big groups
My favorite hangout place in Tyler, amazing selection of boardgames, super friendly staff and owner, good food, coffee and drinks. Highly recommended!!!
Great environment, great food, great coffee and tea, and more games than you could master in a lifetime! It has something for everyone!
We came with a large group of adults and kids to eat lunch and play games for an hour or two between competition times. We did not realize that you had to pay for games even if you bought food. They were willing to give us a discounted rate of $2.50/ person since we had a large group. My family of 6 was already paying over $40 for lunch so an extra $15 for everyone to play a board game for an hour seemed a bit outrageous to me. The food was ok and that’s why I gave it two stars instead of one. This would have been a place that I would have frequented with my family because it is a good concept but the extra charge for the games is just too pricey. In my opinion if you buy food then the games should come with it. They would get more repeat costumers that way.
Relaxed atmosphere, unique and tasty food. Great place for a group to hang out.
Ive only gone twice, but this place is good for studying while enjoying good coffee and food. I recommend going with friends, though, as they do have board games!
Wow what a change, completely world free.. lunch cold tea, and board games, Im the only one on my phone
Great staff with a fantastic vibe. Awesome place to do homework or hangout with friends!
Amazingly fun place, awesome hot chocolate, and friendly faces all around!

This is a great place to grab a cup of coffee or sandwich, and play some games with friends, family, or a date! They have an excellent selection of games sorted by categories, and a knowledgeable staff ready to help you find the perfect one.
