Jennifer and Ben are probably the worst employees in foodmaxx, this is the last time I visit this place. Worst customer service. Walmart way better, better lights, better prices and better employees.

I would absolutely give 5 stars if it didnt take 20+ min to get thru line. The cashiers are all great & friendly, they just seem taxed because there only ever seem to be 3 on shift (& one of them has to run a line and help with self checkout @ the same time). Otherwise, a great store.

Didnt have what I needed, it was a bit obscure. For basic needs, it seemed like a decent store.

2 trips ago I spent $400, came again spent $600 got half the stuff on my list. This time I was going shop to fill my freezer and pantry. I spent $285.oo.It was a total rip off. 36.00 for a small chuck roast,41.00 for a 2.5 lb corned beef..everything was over 20.00 a pkg. Pure unadulterated greed. You made me sick to my stomach..I checked all ads prior to going. Its worth the trip to go to WINCO..IVE NEVER BEEN SO EMBARASSED to be part of the human race,,like the people who own this corporation..you were on the whole 3x higher than anybody. How in hell do you expect parents to feed their kids..SHAMEFUL!!

Food max in ukiah is so gross now. They dont clean their carts or provide anything for customers to clean carts with. Guess they dont care about their customers. Inside the store is looking pretty bad also. Dirty floors, moldy fruit and rotten meat!!

Affordable, but somewhat limited selection and sometimes the checkout lines are crazy long. Be prepared to bag your own groceries.

Good selection but severely understaffed. Waited at alcohol cage for 10min ringing the bell as the signs say but nobody came. Called customer service and they said the bells are broken. Get in line and the cashier will get. The lines for the checkouts are 7 or 8 carts deep with only 3 cashiers who are clearly overworked already. I feel sorry for the ones working here.

Way cheaper than the other stores and now that theres self check out it saves time... keep doing what you do Food

The meat could stand to look a little bit fresher. And if you buy milk from here, it spoils pretty quick. But great for canned items and such.

Good store good produce but sometimes they dont have enough peoples staffed to make the lines dwindle fast enough they also sometimes shut off some of the self-pay stations which is annoying when theres a line that reaches back three isles from the pay counters

The are several good grocery store options in Ukiah. This includes FoodMaxx. Solid produce and meat departments. Best of all, are their prices. Either best in town or really competitive. A great shopping option.

I am really impressed with the changes theyve made. It is a lot easier to practice social distancing. Great job of keeping products stocked up. Courteous, efficient cashiers. An employee was wiping down the carts. Great job!

FoodMaxx is a great place to get veggies and meat and everything else you can imagine they need more Checkers though but theyre awesome

Great place for international foods such as Indian and other Asian foods, spices, teas. Gluten free products, organic produce and dairy products as well. I love this place and everyone is wearing masks and cheerful as ever. Staff are very helpful and if there are long lines the self check out is perfect for me since I dont have a big family to shop for and can get out fast if needed!

I hate going to this store. Always long lines and never enough checkers. If one self check is open its having issues. Parking lot is filthy and all the carts are out and carts not consistently cleaned. Employees look like theyd rather be anywhere else, only doing this for a paycheck.

We just started shopping here. Were from Lake County and Ive been comparing prices with Safeway and its totally worth making the drive to Ukiah!!

If you know what things cost at your surrounding markets, shopping at FoodMaxx can be extremely affordable. Sometimes their products are priced higher than what you can find at Walmart, but on other products, you cant find lower prices anywhere. Arm yourself with knowledge of the local markets and Walmart, and then hit FoodMaxx!

Great store, great people. This store is filled with employees who are friendly and helpful. Clean, well stocked. Their organic produce section is good. Manager is friendly and capable. Excellent selection of Asian and Hispanic foods.

I like this store but I wish they would have more low sodium items. I know I can ask but I dont always have time to talk to costumer service.

FoodMaxx is always a good go to spot when your shopping on a budget and for a large family. Its not a good spot if your in a hurry, theres always long lines and usually minimal checkers.

Always great deals, and they have the largest produce department out of any store in Ukiah.

Fresh and Cheap groceries at a good price. The checkout line can be long on weekend.

I was surprised. I had not been there for a long time. It was nicely remodeled, open, big isles. Very helpful and friendly staff. I needed large quantities of certain items, bigger than regular grocery store but not Costco big, and found them at a reasonable price.

I love Food Maxx its huge theyve got a lot of variety of things and their prices are great and it means Im out of Humboldt Countys shopping

Me and my husband, Russ have shopped at the Ukiah CA location for several years.We have been treated courteously by the staff. A word about the past few months during the Covid 19 epidemic. The store has changed rules often on use of reusable bags, never making sense since, as everyone bags their own groceries.Many times, the first thing you see at the door entrance,is a heaping garbage can. We only saw carts being cleaned one time.(We shop every 1-2 wks) The sanitary wipes dispenser is usually empty. The check out counters and bagging area are VERY dirty. It is easy to spray and wipe to keep sanitary!

Good store but only the employees speak english which makes me question the stores hiring policy for spanish speakers. i think it brings up a larger discussion as to why native spanish speakers cant get jobs in their own small town. i think it really shows systemic oppression on a more tangeable scale 5 stars though the cabbage was good.

Clean and straight forward.

Good produce, friendly shopping, very courteous employees always willing to help you locate an item. Has self check out and if you have problems there is always an employee there to help you. Meat department needs more of a variety of meat to choose from. Prices are reasonable, restrooms are clean, store is well organized and clean, and the isles are wide. Big parking lot, an all around great place to shop.

Its a decent grocery store. And then you get to the front. The lines move incredibly slow. They are almost always understaffed at peak shopping hours. So glad Costco is nearby, would rather get bulk items quickly than singular items at a snails pace here.

Usually crowded but affordable

Only thing was not able to find tapioca pudding mix. And meat priced high, but found package of chicken gizzards only. Other places usually have hearts and gizzards together with more hearts than the gizzards.

Clean store with great prices. Staff were very helpful. I recommend this place for grocery shopping.

Its got great aisle space and the workers are always more than helpful (my 2 main things I look for when grocery shopping).Some of the bulk items arent really cheaper than their singular counterparts, but theres a deals for sure and a great place if youre having to pinch a few pennies.

Good prices and a place to buy in bulk. And good sales. Meat is not good unless your going to eat it that day. Dont recommend. Their service is good a man is very friendly there not sure who he is but very helpful n walks throughout store.

The food is alot cheaper than regular grocery stores. Theres a favorite icecream that I LOVE there, called Death by chocolate!!! So yummy!!! Only 3.29$ and the cilantro was only 3 for 1.00$ Corn was only 19cents!👌 A cold pack of Pepsi, was less than 3.00$ So I can get my moneys worth shopping there.

This is the store to save. Very large assortment of food products along with non-food items. Prices are low and change quite often, but if your looking to shop wisely, then this is one I suggest. Easy to get to being it is right next to hwy 101.

Always the best prices! Great selection of food for a more warehouse type store. Recently remodeled, they now have a greater selection and the new floor plan increases shopabillity. Add to that the new self check outs, and truly it can be beat!

My local grocery that I like to go for fresh produce. Its fresh, wide selection and cheap beyond that you can gets exotic fruits and vegetables here as well.

You save money..

Always unpleasant. Rude employees at checkout, though floor staff are generally nice and helpful. Stock issues common, and usually a mess around the store. Theyre cheap on some items, so an occasional visit justifies the experience.

Normal Food Maxx style...but the staff are nice with the exception of one guy who works stocking the coffee creamer in the morning...heres a thought, if your not a morning person, DONT apply for a morning shift!!!

I like Foodmaxx; I feel like I can get a lot for my money here. The store seems to be well kept, stocked (to the ceiling, literally) with groceries and the prices are almost always less (often by a good amount) than other grocery stores.

I always find the best produce at best prices. Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised like these 24 oysters for $12. I ATE THEM ALL!!!!

Let me start by saying this review only applies to the store in Ukiah, CA. Previously, a other experiences fair to good.I like to do my shopping late at night or early in the morning,,, this poses as a problem at Food Maxx. The meat counter is always empty. Ive went during the afternoon to get a specialty cut of meat, only to find out they leave at 2 p.m.Next we have the checkout, there has never been more than 2 clerks at a time working with one of them doubling up duties working the self-checkout at the same time... WHEW! Im gonna have to save the rest of this review for another day. In the meantime, stay away from Food Maxx-Ukiah.

Very friendly staff, Easy to find everything. The only problem is that you MUST check expiration dates. On Several occasions they have had expired food.

Unable to locate hummus at the Fremont location. Excellent help from meat Dept assisting us in the search! He went above and beyond.!!

Good peices and acceptable quality for fruits and veggies . Meat and seafood continue to dissapoint. Money wasted on salmon that was bad; Packed 90% Ground beef was thin layer, pink and healthy on outside but that was wrapped around brown OLD beef (MAJORITY) and who knows what fat content the brown inside was. Got tray of 4 steaks and literally got about ONE steaks worth of edible meat. Stick to veggies and some packaged foods.

Everyone alway goes above and beyond to make sure my expierience is friendly and as easy as possible. 🙏

Ive been shopping at foodmax for many years. I cant think of one time that they didnt have what I needed or what Ive wanted. The team members are very knowledgeable of the content of their store. I love that place. If you dont shop there your paying too much.
