I made an appointment and went to this place 3 times, but every time after waiting, I received the answer that the new glasses were broken. The new glass was broken and every time I was a bit confused about the ability of the people who changed the windshield. I tell you:1st appointment - after waiting 3 hours they announced that the new glasses used to replace us were broken. and I agree to let the staff at this place make an appointment next time.The second time I went very early but because of the traffic jam I arrived more than 15 minutes late, one of the staff at the counter was very upset and she said: I dont care what your reason is. although the first time I waited a long time for them. I agree its my fault that Im late, I just feel bad for the attitude of that staff lady.After that, I still persisted in making a third appointment (I had to wait for each appointment more than a week apart) this time I came early and the old employee received me and told me to wait. and after i waited for them to say the glasses were broken again i asked how long would it take for my next new glasses to get another appointment and they said they dont know very disappointed in the way they deal with customers and the workers why they always break the glass. 1 big brand I trusted a lot and tried to be patient but now I no longer trust to use the service. I used this same company in Minnesota before and found the service there to be very good, but here is really bad.
I had a repair tech come out to repair two chips that they told me should be fine, however one day later the smaller chip they repaired (that I wasn’t even worried about) grew to half the width of my windshield. I called them and they told me I would need to cover the entire cost of the windshield replacement. How is this a business? They took a small/unnecessary repair, turned it into a major/necessary repair, and then refuse to cover any of the newly incurred costs. I definitely won’t be replacing the windshield here (or at any Safelite) and will ensure I never do business with Safelite again. I decided to go with Perfection Auto Glass in Pleasanton who is only charging $370 for a full windshield replacement that Safelite was quoting at $500.
I want to give a big shout out to Union City Safelite Auto Glass. A week ago a detailing place managed to rip the chrome spear off of the side of my 2006 PT Cruiser. A whole new piece is no longer available for my vehicle so I had no choice but to find someone who could put the piece back in place. The only people that have the proper glue to install the chrome spear back in place are glass people. So I took a chance and stopped at the Union City Safelite place of business to see if they could help me. The receptionist was very friendly and immediately found a very nice man who worked his magic in a matter of minutes and sent me on my way, a very happy lady. I found both the employees at this location very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to assist me. I didnt get their names but they know who they are. Thank you so very much. You made my day.
They scheduled us to deliver the car to the business early morning, we delivered the car at 8am, they told us it’s a 4 hours job. It’s almost 7pm now and we still do not have the car back. Every time we inquired, they said it’s almost ready. The car had been on the “almost “ status in the past 3 hours! We had been waited 11 hours for this craziness! Very poorly managed business. Avoid this place with all your will!!!
Waste of time. On monday morning I dropped of my car and went to work, in the afternoon i received a call from the shop saying that glass goesnt fit and they need to order OEM parts, so i had to come get my car.Lady at the shop said they will get everything taken care of and call me back the same day.No one called. So i followed up the next day, and the next.. it was back and forth with this company and time spent on the phone. They keep feeding you hope, but in reality nothing is happening. Its thursday now and of course nothing has been done by safelite, except false promises.Im going to a different company.
I feel Im being ignored, stonewalled by Safelite in Union City. This is not the way to run a business. Manager of Safelite, Union City, you have wonderful people working for you. Why do you waste their efforts by treating your customers so badly?June 11: My insurance company talked me into using Safelite when a rock was thrown up on the highway and badly cracked the windshield of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. This will not likely happen again; if there is a next time, I will use the Jeep dealer.June 15: Daniel, a mobile technician, came to my house and replaced the windshield. Unfortunately, I had to drive to Union City so they could calibrate the collision avoidance camera. Daniel was friendly, courteous and efficient. I gave this review 2 stars rather than one partly because of him.July 8: I drove to the Union City office to complain of a loud buzzing sound coming from low on the new windshield at speeds over ~50mph. At Safelite another friendly and courteous you man (I neglected to write his name down - a Marine Corps vet, ooh-rah) was able to locate the source of the sound as a poor seal between the cowling and the new windshield, clearly caused by the installation of the new windshield. He spoke with the manager and I was told by the young woman at the front desk that they would order a new cowling from Jeep and call me when it came in. These nice, courteous and competent young people are the other reason for the extra point.August 5: I havent heard back from Safelite and I find it impossible to call the Union City office directly. I did speak with a nice young woman in a central office who told me she could find no record of the cowling being ordered. She said she would reach out to the office manager to respond to my enquiry.Since I had to do the reaching out after hearing nothing after almost a month, Im writing this poor review. How hard is it to keep me, a customer, up to date on what is happening? This is one of the first lessons a business manager should learn. In a couple of days, if I dont hear anything, Ill go back to Safelite and speak to them directly, masked-face to masked-face. I cant help but think the new cowling fell in a crack and I am being stonewalled.

Completed all their questions on their website, received a quote and made an appointment. When I took the car in for windshield replacement they increased the price over 100 bucks. Said sorry quote was wrong. BS… this is false advertisement period. Do not trust.
OMG! Worst place for customer service! Drove over one hour to replace our windshield. Got there & they didnt have the glass for our car! Didnt bother to call & tell us in advance which wasted our time. And they didnt even care!!! The front desk just kept saying well we dont have the part in. They never addressed that they never called us. So frustrating!!! Dont use them!!
Stay away, their service is horrible! We went to get our wind shield replaced and it it took all day. I was not able to reach anyone on the phone to get a status on my car. I dropped my car at 8 am and I did not get the car back until 6pm and they close at 5pm. I find out that their windshield messed up my car’s safety settings and calibration. They had no clue how to fix it. I rather have a cracked window then get a new windshield from these guys. Horrible service!

I had another excellent job done here yesterday on 02/07. My car’s 3 window glasses were completely smashed due to an pathetic break-in due to vandalism at Dublin, CA. Thanks a lot SafeLite for fixing my glasses so quick and especially cleaning and making my car to look like brand new! It was completely cleaned from all glass particles. Really appreciate their quick service. My car got a stone hit @ windshield while driving in freeway and got a small crack. Took it to Safelite via insurance and quickly fixed it for FREE and the impacted spot is almost clear! First time I used my insurance company because my windshield cracked driving on the infamous 880 freeway.I was pleased AAA had a service to send someone to my home. They gave me an appointment window between 1PM and 5PM and Arun from Safelite showed up at 115ish. He DID point out that I had some weather wear and tear on my rubber moldings. All was going well.....Then it went downhill from there. I got a call from Arun that he was finished. I went downstairs and checked my car.I had a question about the bottom drivers side installation/ workmanship. It looked bad. I saw a hole. I asked if I would get any potential leaks. Arun did a sigh and said something like it’s like that. The sigh was that of a teenager when you tell them to eat their vegetables. I ignored it but I couldn’t accept “it’s like that” as an answer so I asked why that was the only part that looked like that. Arun sighed again turned around and that’s when all the attitude started. He straight up told me “you don’t know nothing.”On the passenger side, a quarter of my rubber molding was gone. I asked about that. He said I had damage already. I admit it was sun damage but he broke the damn piece ! Whatever. I couldn’t talk to this guy.I was taken back with that “you don’t know nothing” comment. I told him I don’t know much about windshields because it’s not my trade which was why I was asking questions. Long story short our conversation went nowhere and he repeated if I don’t know anything a few times which started annoying me.He told me about warranties and I asked him for a brochure. I asked him where his specific warranty quote was and he asked if I could read. I was pretty much done.I spoke to his supervisor for a quick second but he couldn’t help me. He told me to drive the car to union city. While I spoke to his supervisor, Arun stood nearby sighing and commenting under his breath. Pretty childish right?I was going to drive to their shop but then I read on the brochure not to drive the car if the windshield was replaced. The brochure told me to look inside to see the safe time to operate my car. The time block was not filled out. Good thing I can read right?So, they were going to let me drive to their shop with a windshield that lacked full integrity. Safety concern anyone?Arun obviously can’t take criticism but this is the WORST customer service I have experienced in awhile.I still paid because a service was rendered and it’s only right. I was actually more upset with the customer service than anything.If you have an option, go with another company. If you get Arun... take photos pre op for your sake and good luck.I’m sure Arun does not represent all of this company but man .....

My windshield had a small crack in it due to a rock chip while driving on the highway. Debated wether I should be taking it into the service center or using Safelite and from what I read online I decided to go with Safelite. I was able to schedule an appointment very easily through their website and the very next morning I was kept well updated through email and text messages when my technician would arrive.The technician David was very polite, professional and friendly. he was able to answer all of my questions about the entire process and show me how things were done. He maintain proper social distancing, wore his mask, and had his gloves on the entire time and made me feel safe. Was also very nice to just have a conversation with him. The process took probably less than 10 minutes and my windshield looks good as new. Overall very satisfied and happy that I chose to use Safelite
Incompetent and unprofessional! 1st they didnt come to us and they take a week to order the wrong glass, taking 2 and a 1/2 hours out of my day to make that discovery. Next, they say they will have it the following Monday or Tuesday. They didnt, and they also didnt reach out. Called for a status update, they say Oh, it will be a few more days with no other explanation. Worst experience ever! End result Im taking my business elsewhere. I would advise the same for you.

The replacement was done well. Cant tell the windshield was changed. Dropped off the car and picked it up at the end of the day. Process was quick and little contact as possible.
AAA sent me here 4 times, every time they made a different excuse, first they said they didn’t have it, when they called me in for my appointment I left my car for 4 hours, and I couldn’t work, and now they said the part went to a different location in concord, so now they have to order another one, which is gonna take 3 days, but that’s just when it arrives, my appointment might take even longer.

Made a appointment to come to me to fix windows everything was confirmed but no one ever showed up. Had me wait for over 5hrs for nothing and then after 6pm get a call from the guy who was supposed to come saying not going happen and can’t get it done for another 5 days. Absolutely horrible customer service when I explain to them that I was promised to get the job done they told me it doesn’t matter what your promise. DO NOT USE THEM!! Calling their corporate office file complaint since no one answers their office phones.
These guys do a great job and take good care of you. Unfortunately they can get super busy and you may have to wait up to a week or so for your appointment but thats not really on them. I think theyre the best game in town. They do both mobile appointments or you can drive to one of their locations. The flexibility makes it easier to schedule an appointment. They get the job done quickly and clean up all the remaining broken glass which I really appreciate.

They cancelled my appointment to fix my broken window without letting me know via text message and NO explanation. The proper thing to do would have been to call me as to why it was cancelled, find me another appointment, apologize, and not wait until last minute to dump me off the schedule. I waited over 1 week for this, driving around with broken glass. When I tried to call, no one picked up the phone. Avoid this place at all costs. Poor business model and zero customer service. Let me save you the trouble, and move on to the next autoglass company.
Technician Matthew completed the replacement of the right rear door window in a very professional manner, always attentive to cleanliness and asking if further assistance was necessary. In addition, he offered safety suggestions to prevent further incidences from happening.
Im really glad that of all the other glass places that were cheaper in the area, I chose this place to have my cars vent glass replaced. The service was honest and complete and despite the higher price, I got what I paid for! Plus, they got me an original part for my car to boot! The service from the time I booked my appointment online to bringing the car home from the repair was impeccable. I chose this place because they did an absolutely amazing job on my wifes car a few months ago and I thought I could find a place that would be cheaper and provide the same quality of service...I was gladly wrong. My rearview mirror came off. I tried gluing it myself 3 times (Gorilla Glue) with no success... Safelite spent 35 minutes reattaching the rear view mirror For Free... Awesome !!! They were very nice, professional and clean. I cant Thank them enough.

I was able to get a same-day appointment and learned while scheduling it that my insurance company had a special deal that did not require submitting a claim. Even better, it included the option of having them do the work at my home or office at no additional cost.Everyone I spoke with was friendly and professional and the work was completed quickly and with high quality. The technician was also able to remove sap from my windshield that I had been unable to. My experience could not have been any better and I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to everyone.

I have been calling for the manager to give me a call back on a refund but you already know they have not contacted me. I have been calling customer service for the last 10 months now for a resolution and was informed that I was going to be reimbursed back for a windshield that continued to crack. The only rep that I talked to at this location was Adriana or Ariana. I travel alot for the military and this specific location (Union City, Fremont, CA) hands down are the worst. I put an appointment with them, for that there was a wait for 1 month.After 1 month on appointment day, the technician comes and tells me they donot have that glass that can fit on my car.Now they are giving me another date of 2 weeks later and to come to their shop.I couldnot understand, what this company was doing for over 1 month, when they had full details of my car. Safelite is a little hard to find, it is on the west side of the building complex. My expierience is again great with this company. I used their mobile service in the past, but coming here was a good choice. Basheer was my technician. Knowing my car was broken into and I was not in the best mood, he did everything he could to make the expierience easy, fast, and effortless. I payed out of pocket so I would save money in the long run with insurance. They cleaned the car, and replaced the glass. I will give an update once I have used the car a little. Ask for Basheer, and get your window fixed.
I had pretty bad experience as I had waited almost 2 weeks time to get a home install apt. Then on the apt day the technician shows up with wrong windshield. He said he was sorry and will have to re-order and will rush it. Didnt hear from the tech for almost 6 days so I ended up calling the shop asking what was going on. To my surprise they said they have no record of any new windshield being ordered for me by the tech or the shop. WOW..so basically I waited extra 6 days just to be told that they havent even ordered the windshield. Now I am getting pissed off...The girl at the shop then orders my windshield and schedules me to come to the shop to install in 3 days. They couldnt give me any apt to come to my home within 2 weeks even after going through so much wait and frustration. Anyways, to just get this done, I took off from work and went to the shop and got it done. But...then the technician installs the windshield but damages my windshield rubber cover..then again he was also sorry and said will order the new part and will come to my home to install it. Part came in within 2 days to the shop and I am still waiting for someone to come and install at my home.....
Took my Subaru Outback to get windshield replaced. Windshield wiper fluid wouldnt pump after it was replaced. Im surprised they didnt test to make sure everything worked before handing the car back to me. The fluid was working perfectly fine before I took it in. Drove it a few hours after the service and got mud on the windshield while driving down highway and couldnt use the fluid. Couldnt see anything. Could have crashed because the pump wasnt working!!!! Bad service.

Technician did an excellent job replacing windshield. I have been waiting a week to test it out with rain. So far no leak, everything is perfect. Safelite aftermarket windshield quality is very good for Jeep Grand Cherokee 2016. Fuyao brand was used, looks exactly like OEM glass.
My car was broken into and I needed to get the window replaced. I assumed, incorrectly, that the process would be cumbersome and lengthy. I was very pleasantly surprised when I was able to get the work completed the next day, and in only one hour. Thank you for the excellent customer service!
The Union City store illustrated utmost professionalism with my car windshield needs. They were able to give me a reasonable quote and gave me an estimate time for completion. Their lounge area provided me with good complementary Wi-Fi as well as coffee and water. I would recommend this place.
Overpriced and the do not come to you in a timely mannor. It took two weeks to get my window fixed and that was because i went to them. Had i wsited for them to come to me i would still be waiting
There comes a point after MONTHS of not having glass replaced and issue after issue, you have to just shake your head. Besides being flat out rude and unprofessional, this is just poor management. Morale is reflecting in poor customer service, employees just dont care about their customers. You would think there would be a desire to resolve an ongoing issue...nope.
BEWARE when you use this company thru your insurance for the windshield replacement.I paid my $500 deductible when their website quote was saying $475.It looks like this location charges much higher to the insurance claims than their regular price.In general, I called few other local companies and they all quoted me less than $400Regardless youre using your insurance or not, stay away from this company.You will be overcharged.
Understanding how busy the bay area is, my initial appointment was scheduled a week after my incident and an hour away from my location. With this inconvenience in mind already, I found out after I took work off and drove all the way to the location that my appointment was cancelled without notice because the part has not arrived yet.Finally after having to reschedule for the following week. The appointment took over 3 hours because Safelite did not align with my insurance company ahead of time and I had to wait while the representative was on the phone the whole time.
My window cracked, just came out and there it was. First time i came the service wasnt so great. Upholstery wasnt returned to its original state. Glass was everywhere, plastic cover for the seat belt was cracked. A service technician came to my work place and fixed what he could. However i had to go back to the shop since the window was not properly installed. However since then i have not had any issues. All in all its a hassle whenever dealing with insurance but thats the price to pay for lifetime warranty. The service technician who came to my work was Nick. Very well knowledged and very professional.
I was just there to have a window covered and the interior of my car cleaned after a break in. Not only was the staff prompt and courteous but they went above and beyond expectations. My bumper was loose due to an accident several weeks ago, the tech Ernie (or something similar) reattached my bumper while he was cleaning my car! I am so happy with their service! A+

Everything started out fine. The technician kept me apprised of his arrival time and kept me up to date when he was going to be late. After my windshield was installed and they were testing the windshield wipers and washers I noticed no fluid was being sprayed on the windshield and said as much. I was told I was wrong and they left. Later I took the panels apart and found the hose they failed to connect. 30 days later and the weather stripping across the top of the windshield has come loose and now I have to have the windshield replaced again. I am not happy. If your insurance company gives you a choice choose a different car glass company to do the work.

Horrible service. Twice failed to show up on 6 hour windows of install. Second time they failed to show up they told me they had no record of my appointment even though I had an e-mail from them verifying the appointment. Beyond this, they give a 6 hour window of time. First time, they said installer was sick and called me to re-schedule. I had my phone on me the entire time...No voicemail or call despite what they said. I will never use them in the future, nor would I recommend them to anyone.
I checked in at 2PM and because they were busy, their guy told me they could fix the windshield a little bit longer than normal time and told me they will call me at the waiting room when its all done. I was sitting there for more than 4 hours and nobodys calling my name. At 6PM, Ive asked the check in counter and found that my car was already done at 4PM. Smh!
They dont know what aftermarket part they are going to use for my car.went there two weeks bqck to back and called multiple times to find out what kind of glass they are going to use (tempered or lamisafe )always told, someone will call me soon and never receive the call back. Just had (nick C) come out and replace the windshield on our GMC Sierra! Did an amazing job! Was fast too! Did his pre inspection and even noticed there was an extra antenna under the dash that we didnt even know about! and reminded us not to drive the truck for 30 minutes!Now I know who to contact if any of my other vehicles need a windshield repair!
Was waiting on call for almost for an hour to get the status of the car. After coming to pickup car was not ready with required setting. NOT Good service at all. Even with last glass installment the glass broke with in months just bcoz of stress.
Did really shoddy work. Air leaked in side window on the freeway. Tried to fix it with some glue that looked awful.Giving 2 stars because they at least refunded me so I could go to a competent shop.Update: The next shop took the door panel off, safelite used that same glue to repair broken plastic pieces on the back of the door panel. Really shoddy work, they were just hoping I wouldnt notice.

I had several nightmare experiences in the Bay Area with my car. From someone hitting my door to my car being broken into last night. I was so frustrated and stressed because of my urgent trip to Los Angeles tomorrow. The window was shattered with glass all over the floor. No on could help before Monday except this Safelite in union city. Cindy greeted me with a warm smile and broke down my barrier of frustration with excellent customer service. She went above and beyond to try and get me seen by a technician. Thankfully Javeen was able to accommodate me and service the window, in spite of a heavy work day. He was pleasant, professional, quick, and empathized with my situation. He really took his time to help me and offered great advice. I am extremely appreciative of the team at SafeLite Union City. Being dealt a crappy situation of someone breaking in my car, the only bright spot was the team at Safelite that made an awful situation better.Thank you Cindy and Javeen!

I used them one week ago and the whole process is smooth. They told me what they could do after inspecting the car and gave a pretty accurate estimate of the service time.
I came to a safelite shop with my back totally blown out. Its about 6:55 in the morning spare of the moment but Matthew c a r a p i e t went above and beyond to find glass for my back window and within a hour found a location in Union City with the glass that I needed. I was back on the road to working again within a few hours. So I just want to personally thank him and his staff in the shop for helping clean up the mass and getting me back on the road again. As an Uber driver I didnt miss the whole day witches is Crucial to my earning potential. And in spite of the inventory that they were involved in and being locked out of the computer, Matthew over rid the system to again went above and beyond to getting me the glass that I needed and back on the road again. My service technician was friendly, prompt and courteous. I was disappointed after he left to find out my wipers has not been re-installed properly
They did a decent job at fixing a small crack in windshield of my car. I went to them through my insurance, so it was free.
