Im always happy to support local coffee shops, and Coffee Lab is a short walking distance from where I work. I will definitely be coming here during my breaks whenever I need a quick caffeine fix. Ive been here twice and the employees with whom I have come into contact have been helpful to me. Also, the cafe is clean and nicely decorated.Though their selection is relatively small, they have a pretty good menu here, including a unique caffeine-free blue matcha. I would also recommend their caramel latte. They also have a few rotating pastries throughout the day that seem to be of high-quality, Ive tried their lemon bread.

Cool little specialty coffee shop. You walk in and just feel like they know what they are doing 😊. The barista was super friendly. Offers indoor and outdoor seating. Didnt have it but the guy in front said the breakfast sandwiches are the best!

Asking why he doesn’t want to pay them? Not sure, you ask him. The court of law will soon shortly too.

I travel all over the country, and always seek out independent coffee shops, and their coffee is amongst the best that Ive had. The service is prompt and friendly, but the vibe is definitely take your time and chillax. Highly recommend.

Horrible customer service from the owner. Take your business somewhere else. Do not to provide any income to someone who verbally harassers his young female employees. If you are all for empowering women and especially younger women just starting a new job and who cannot always stand up for themselves, if you are against the old and typical male patriarchy verbally beating down on his young female employees, take your money and your business somewhere else. To be honest, it is a mystery how this male owner does not have law suits and a multitude of complaints against him. Most likely because he is a bully who only has the courage to pick on young female employees behind closed doors. Take your business somewhere else Vancouver, stand up for whats right. #MeToo

Coffee is outstanding -- strong and flavorful. Roasting beans on site, slow brew options. The cajeta latte, Mexican mocha or vanilla latte are must tries. (Almond and oat milk available too) pastries are good but if they have the savory breakfast sandwich (no meat) egg, house made green aioli and mozzarella is super yum. Hands down the best baristas around -- friendly but not pushy, great conversation and quick with orders and helpful with suggestions/explanation of brew options. Great neighborhood feel with clientele and operation.

Truly an top notch coffee experience. The absolute top spot in the area; fresh roasted beans, highly crafted drinks, friendly staff, all with quality equipment they wield effectively. One of the few true pour over options in the area with a nicely dialed in option (theres different close by shop that does a pour over with the refinement of drip).

Great coffee! Both of the girls there were very friendly and helpful! They have lots of outdoor seating, and some under a canopy too.The cajeta (goat milk dulce de leche) latte was balanced just right, and the normal latte my mom got was great as well. FYI, if you prefer less fruity coffees I would mention it. They only do classic sizes. They also do pour-overs and siphon coffee (very cool).The bakery is absolutely oustanding!! Shown is a (vegan) oatmeal cookie that was simply amazing. On the shelf they have turmeric honey drinks, 1 decaf and 3-4 choices of coffee roast/blends, and a chai blend (just 7g of sugar :D). They also have a great collection of books to read while there.Its the perfect location too, Esther Short Park right next to it has many places to walk and sit, or go down to the waterfront.Another note of detail - the shop and designs are beautiful. I really like the blue recurring print with various coffee devices, it would make great wrapping paper on the holidays. The design of their coffee bags are some of my favorites, and the valve does not get in the way when you roll it up (pet peeve of mine).Update:The siphon brewing is really cool to watch, and the resulting coffee(using the three amigos blend) was very clean and bold. The oatmeal bar is sweet and indulgent, and the biscuit my mom got was perfectly delicate with a slight bit of rosemary. Still a great shop!

Very cool spot across from the waterfront. The drinks and food were outstanding!I want to give them a full 5 stars but we came here to get work done and found out after we ordered and sat down that there isn’t any WiFi.The staff were friendly and the environment was very chill.

Best cup of coffee I have had in a while. Its a bit spendy and the people who frequent it are bourgeoisie types who are not the nicest. The staff is very sweet and accommodating. Its right next to Ester short park and I usually get my coffee and a scone and take my 1 year old over to the park while we share the scone. (Make sure to tip the servers well, they deal with a lot in a day especially during Saturday market)

Unbelievable behavior from this business owner. He does need to be held accountable for his behavior and verbally abusing young girl employees. It’s also unacceptable for him to withhold their paycheck for their hard earned money by blackmailing them to sign papers under mental duress and stress which state they’re being fired after they put their week notice already. This business owner is abusing his employees.

This place is very clean and service was so great.It was my first time I didnt know what should I order but they explained me and give us tasting .I ordered Mexican mocha and Kyoto style coffee.Both are very tasty coffee.I enjoyed my coffee time!

Service and atmosphere were both great!

I came to this cafe for the first time, I was actually just walking by and never saw it before so I decided to check it out. Not that it matters, but I had a to go cup of something leftover from somewhere else (I didn’t expect to come here after the previous place). I was ready to order some food and coffee when one of the owners (I’m assuming) or employee, with a rude tone said “you can’t come in here with any other coffee”. Just because I came in with a cup I haven’t thrown away yet, I was treated like I wasn’t a customer. She didn’t even offer if I wanted to order something, which was my intention because I came to try the place out. It was a very impolite first impression. I left without saying anything but I was just surprised at the way I was belittled. It’s not like I came with that cup and sat down to drink it, without ordering anything from this coffee shop. I stood in line to specifically order from them. I don’t think I want to come back to a place like that, which is unfortunate because it seemed like a nice place at first.

A good beautiful coffee shop. The owner is a friendly chap who makes a very decent flat-white and can chat about 5G. The zucchini bread is particularity good.If I had one suggestion; the coffee was a tad to hot. But I suspect thats the norm in the USA.

Nice clean place with a good size sitting area where you can enjoy your coffee with a view of Esther short park across the street. The coffee is very nice not acidic and very smooth. They have a selection of baked goods that you can have with your drink. A great place to check out.

This place has great coffee, fun vibe, beautiful deco, just right music, fantastic people but the thing that sets it apart is the slow bar. We tried the V60 and syphon coffees prepared very personally, right in front of us at the bar. Those coffees are out of this world! Let Matthew chose something for you. You wont be disappointed. At $4.25, the jaffles are a tremendous value. Very tasty, balanced and beautifully presented.

Hi! For my first time coming to this coffee shop. I felt like there wasnt anything special about it, dont get me wrong its beautiful and clean. The coffee was delicious! I will definitely return and try the pastries.

Obviously, there are now only a few coffee shops that have indoor seating, so I was thrilled to find Kafiex Roaster-Coffee Lab earlier today. And what a great find! Clean, well spaced seating, and great coffee.The staff was delightful and thorough...tables were carefully wiped down after each use.My only complaint...I wish they served 16 ounce versions so I could have a bigger drink. Guess I’ll just have to buy another cup!!

Holy Cow.....just bought 12oz. pack of coffee....but reading reviews, while sitting outside here........wow..hey owner your aggressive angry tone responding to reviewers is a very bad decision. The coffee is okay...nothing to write home about. But....in the future, if I want to pay $18 for 12 oz. of phenomenal beans, Ill stop buy Coava! During the PANDEMIC.....Means taking the high road and not biting a reviewers head off when responding to an honest review. Its the price of doing business. And remember, there are hundreds of coffee shops. My first and last visit!

Amazing coffee! I walked in to try a new local coffee shop and ended up staying for quite some time. They provided not only a great cup of coffee brewed in a new method I was unfamiliar with but also let me taste new Chinese coffees. Very educational and very delicious. This will now be a regular place for me.

One of the ladies was a little rude. She seemed to be fed up with the day, but they had only opened 40 minutes ago.. she was brunette and the only one at the front January 28th around 8:45am.Two other ladies showed up a little later. I was able to have a conversation with one of them there and she was great!To be safe I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there since I’d hate for them to experience that imbalance in customer service, but if I saw anyone else working there in passing I’d happily go in again.

Witnessed how the employees refused service to a few mothers and their children because they couldnt wear a mask.This is unacceptable! This is total discrimination and segregation! This business chooses discrimination over public accommodation.

Kafiex is a wonderful coffee shop! My family ordered a pour over & iced latte along with two muffins. The banana chocolate chip & cardamom coffee cake muffins were both good, but that coffee cake was to die for!! The muffins were also vegan. Im not vegan, but I love to share when I find good vegan treats! Back to the coffee - both the pour over and latte were also great! I cant wait to come back to this coffee shop. They were also very family friendly which you dont always find in hipster coffee shops. The employees loved our kiddos and they had a highchair! Both important things for our family with two under three.

This place is a total scam! Only offers a 12 oz coffee for almost 4 bucks for an americano. Talk about a scam. The girl making the coffee was fine but hardly put any cream in my americano. I had to go back. In short overpriced mediocre coffee and pretentious service. Definitely wont be back.

Go here if you want coffee made by someone who knows coffee. Not just a company that knows roasting, not just well extracted coffee or espresso, but really coffee as a whole.This is some of the best coffee I’ve had. Truly tasty coffee with a real flavor profile. Rich but smooth, really Well extracted. The Rwanda coffee is really wonderful, with a fruity acidity, rich but subtle flavor, very little bitterness and bright notes at the end. The freshness of the coffee really shines through.Talking with the barista during a slow period you can tell they really do understand the whole coffee process as an art and a science. They can really care about the coffee as a craft. There is real beauty in the way they treat coffee and it makes a difference in the end product.

I had such a good experience at this coffee shop. All of their coffee’s are made in good conscience and roasted in house. The barista was very friendly and engaging, and made sure I knew exactly what I was getting. The pour over coffee she suggested was one of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had. Truly a great spot to spend an afternoon working or just relaxing. I will come back as soon as I possibly can.

This place has it all. Views of downtown including well-known Esther Short park, on a perfect corner location... clean inside and modern furnishings. Its small, a local business walking distance from waterfront park... good service, and of course excellent coffee. I like the big windows, open space, and roaster on display - yes, they roast and sell their beans. Suitable for advanced coffee tastes and beginners wanting an education. Dairy free, gluten free, and vegan alternatives too.

If you want an amazing cup of coffee and knowledgeable baristas, come here. The roast they use for their espresso is straight up fantastic, possibly the best espresso I have ever had. I have a lot of out-of-town visitors and all have agreed this place is amazing. Relaxed vibe for hanging out and working on your computer, although it can get a bit busy on the weekends being right at the farmers market. I discovered this place a few months ago and have been back multiple times. Love Kafiex!

Had the funnest time here. The staff were very very friendly and explained all the different way the make coffee and how it would taste and all that. Genuinely friendly people. The way they served the coffee was also really cute and interesting. Definitely worth going to!

As perfect espresso as you or I will ever find in our lifetimes.Amazing doesn’t begin to cover it!I don’t regularly drink coffee from coffee houses. I am exceptionally picky and have found time and time again that I can make a better espresso at home than I can get at any given coffee shop. I roast my own carefully selected beans, I weigh and time every shot exclusively through a naked portafilter, and I make truly excellent and relatively consistent coffee. I have never found any coffee shop that puts the time and effort into their coffee like I do mine; that is until Kafiex, they put more time, more effort, and very importantly more skill than I have, or have ever witnessed at any shop anywhere into their coffee. All of that might not matter except that that knowledge, that work, that art comes through in the results.The best coffee anywhere can be found right in Vancouver, WA at Kafiex Roasters. The results speak for themselves and they are astounding.

Absolutely a fresh tale on coffee. Not only is the aptnosphere great and clean. But the employees are amazing. The owners must be kind because a new employee from August is full of passion and knowledge. The coffee is really different from any other coffee and more then meets expectations. There’s floor to ceiling windows that overlook Ester short park, they have a one of a kind beautiful hand painted mural behind the bar, the energy of this place feels fresh and alive with cute live plants throughout and not to mention the coffee is handcrafted and delicious! The owners Saydie and Matthew know their stuff and are passionate about their craft. Not to be missed by coffee lovers and the like!

Unfriendly and unhelpful baristas. I was with 5 people and they didn’t great anyone. Just looked at us, we ordered, and that was it with out a word or a smile or an expression. Coffee was overly strong. Strange scientific coffee devises but they didn’t explain their coffee service with the devices. Won’t be back with my friends. 2 great non Starbucks cafes around the corner with fantastic coffee, service and welcoming with a smile.

The ladies there where verry friendly, and seemed to know their coffee, however the coffee was pretty bad. My wife couldnt finish her Americano, and my pour over was bitter and ashy. Also I ordered a big coffee, and it was 10-12oz. I know thats the perfect size for a pour over, but when buying coffee almost anywhere else, 12 oz is the small size.

Great find in downtown Vancouver. Nice selection of single origin coffees and brewing styles. Nice touch of having a cover on your carafe to keep the heat in while you take your time sipping coffee. Friendly staff. Will be a repeat customer.
